I really never trust the Arsenal to win any trophy in the last 15 years, but, we are seeing a lot of surprises this year and teams who are really regular becomes irregulars, like Liverpool in this start, Man Utd who cant make a good season since alot of years, and the only one reamining seems to be Man City, so maybe a F.A cup can win the Arsenal.

Lets see if Arteta finally makes a strong team, the other day against Man Utd, they played really well but didnt score all the chances they have.

They've done the FA cup 4 times in that same period, though, and are still the record holders, you can never really count them out of the competition, they just seem to have an affinity for it.

Teams that dominate usually do in cycles. I feel it is such a shame that Liverpool's ascendancy coincided with City -- 3 UCL final appearances in Klopp's reign proves that, but only 1 title in the same period is down to City focusing everything in domestic battles.

This came after about 2 decades of nothing, so it's not a big surprise if United spend another 10 years finding their way.

Arsenal, on the other hand, had their Invincibles season and then found a place they called their own (regular champions league). Fans didn't like it, celebrated when they kicked Wenger out, and now look back in anger.

Surprisingly enough if these rumors are true, Tuchel had to lose his job just for not including Ronaldo in his plans. Previously there had been rumors that Chelsea really wanted to bring in Ronaldo, but the rumors just disappeared so Ronaldo had to stay at Manchester United, who missed the UCL this season. But as far as I know, Tuchel was sacked because of the poor results that Chelsea continued to get and the climax was when Chelsea were humiliated by Dinamo Zagreb in the inaugural match of the UCL Group stage. If you look at several cases of dismissal of coaches by other clubs, almost all of the reasons are because the coach failed to improve the team's performance. But if the reason for the sacking of Tuchel was for opposing bringing Ronaldo to the club, it would sound very funny because cases like this have never happened before.

Just spend a good coffee break reading an item about Tuchel, had no idea he was going through a divorce during this whole fiasco. I don't know what's true or not about the circumstances surrounding his dismissal but he can't have had a good time making transfer decisions without technical help, nor with personal issues looming.

Speaking from personal experience, it could be just that he was seen as under a lot of stress, and they were just doing what they thought was the kind thing.

Enjoy the payoff, Tuchel, you'll have your pick of clubs after.

^ Haha yeah, and might as well add Juve to that list too (but I have faith in them in UCL group stage at least!). Which also reminds me, going about last night's red-card extravaganza, wonder if other than BTTS, red cards could be of value in some of these games? Old Lady complaining about VAR so maybe controversy needs to be shared in leagues other than EPL, huh?

Red card market though (sending off), tonight's Roma who just got hammered in the last game? Why not?

Only thought I was being smart putting Ham on the podium, and then his joke of watching his iPad should have been a warning to me that hoping he would make up so much ground wasn't possible (still impressive no?).
The thing is, we are seeing George Russell racing much better than Hamilton this year. I guess it could be regarding Hamilton wanting the "test" car to himself so that he would be not great but he would improve much better next year at least. But that means for the time being they are just ending up with a bit of a problem. I am not saying that it is going to hurt them a lot but it is going to end up with a bit of a problem in the long run, it is making Hamilton feel a potential but making Russell think he is the best for now.

Not sure I get you 100% but also not sure a lot of people would agree Russell's racing better overall (I agree he's proving to be much stronger in coping with what he gets, whereas his teammate always comes off as a crybaby, but I can't really tell about prowess or if both were at the top of every race how it'd pan out), or that how he feels about himself has anything to do with Hamilton's choice.

I'm from Russia, which is not spoiled for football victories (the only thing I remember is that Zenit and CSKA won the UEFA Cup). But that never stopped me from ignoring tournaments like the Intertoto Cup or the Cup Winners' Cup  Grin I understand perfectly where these tournaments come from, but everyone sees that they do not reach their goal in terms of significance - even teams that will never win the Champions League rate them as third-rate.
And yes, I remember that once only champions played in the Champions League, but due to commerce, we will never see this format again. Now we are watching different versions of the Super League (and I hope that we will see the final version soon).

I certainly love betting on the Slavs when they're 10/1 or more. Dynamo or Spartak Moscow last season v Napoli (apologies for not remembering which) was one of my biggest wins, splendid wins.

Don't worry, there was a time English teams were in the wilderness (helps explain why many teams won CL trophies in their absences haha) but they were welcomed back.

So just when I thought transfer was done we get king of Shithousery to welcome who joins Wolves... not sure how that team is going to make any gains on league position but I suppose they love playing the role of foil to all the other teams, hope they nick points off City and Arsenal but Liverpool are just as much a target heh.

And then we're also chasing Douglas Luiz from Villa ha? Wonder if we also finally get Bellingham (even though I promised not to think about him again) in January.

Wow guys. Just the Open I decide not to follow, and then it's the one where Ruud loses his grab at #1 and Alcaraz takes the big one. Didn't know it was almost 50 years since a teen sat atop the rankings, but with the way it's all changed, I guess he really benefited from the way ranking points are tallied now?

Worth his weight, 3 epics to reach this stage, shame on me for not following!

Benzema was out injured last game so maybe we have something...
I thought the team was gonna struggle without good 'ol Benz in the team, but we have such good depth in the team that even without our best player we can win games comfortably by a 3 goal margin. That 3rd goal from Rodrygo today, though 🔥🔥🔥

heh, whenever i see Vini and Rodrygo doing their thing on the pitch, that one song from the joga bonito football commercials from 2006 starts playing in my head 🤩 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvY20kZ2oSk good times

Yeah, I'm not too bummed about losing out on Mallorca, it was always going to be a losing bet, but catching 2.38 on livebetting right before Valverde equalised (thanks to a SB superboost), now that's special for me. Love seeing the giants going behind first... sadly has only worked out once this season for my own Liverpool ha!

Nice game, good goals, Real and Barca back to business at the top.

Well done... LTU_btc for taking yellow cap and moving up a bit from the bottom! And nice to see I managed to stay 1 point off the bottom haha.

I see rohang didn't even enter his picks so he's now bottom (ouch)... a reminder we could all do with a bit of luck if we just don't forget our picks. Mosala just overtook CLS63, that lead is so hard to handle, huh!

EDIT 1 : Verstappen is unstoppable...

Yeah, and this time I don't think anyone can argue it was given to him. Much faster by a distance, and really no challenge offered if we're being honest. Only thought I was being smart putting Ham on the podium, and then his joke of watching his iPad should have been a warning to me that hoping he would make up so much ground wasn't possible (still impressive no?).
3491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 11, 2022, 03:20:53 PM
Lille are still terrible at defending. They weren't having any problem with scoring but they were conceding goals very easily at the same time. As a result I was expecting the Marseille - Lille match to end over 2.5 goals which happened just as I expected. Marseille are on a really incredible run as this 2-1 win made their winning streak five matches in the league.

This is when I start betting against teams like this, odds will probably get worse and worse for their opponents as they rack up the win streak, so I'm hoping to see special flavouring odds but still annoyed it's only just above 3/1 with Rennes... though in 2 days Frankfurt is over 4/1 to win against them in Champions League.

Or is this time to double on the money on Marseille?
3492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: September 11, 2022, 02:19:34 PM
If you bought near $20K, you most likely about it at 1/3rd of the price compared to the people that invested at the end of 2021 and early 2022. Remember how celebrities were pumping crypto at the time. So many people are bag holding at $60K or so. Many already sold at a loss.

Your price is very close to the current price. Just dollar cost average every week for whatever price we are at and hold on to it. Nobody knows what the low will be or if it was $18K. Sure $10K is a great price however everybody is expecting bitcoin to go there and most likely it'll never reach that price and you will miss out.

Yeah, I wouldn't be too worried about buying in 33% of the ATH. That's equivalent to buying at $7k after the 2017 ATH. Sure, you'll experience pulldowns up to 50% off from your buying mark but they won't be as painful or as long.

That means you needn't worry even at $10k (if we even ever get there).

Perfect DCA moves from now on would have seen you bring your average down to 20k if you've been faithful.
3493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: September 11, 2022, 12:40:04 PM
buway looks like you really know how to jinx Valencia after all and wow even Sevilla managed to get a solid win. I don't really care, those teams can do whatever they want as long as we keep winning by big margins and our boys all manage to score.

Would be really cool for Real to drop points today though so we can enjoy being top a little time more hehe

Yup, bed shitting starts early, and Sevilla wins will trick us all into believing they've turned a corner.

Also hoping for Real to stop their perfect streak and I know Mallorca aren't exactly the best bet but I took one over 11/1 at Fairlay... Benzema was out injured last game so maybe we have something... Hazard played well but he's never going to smash the charts right out of injury and Vini's got to have a day off at some point no?

Already 1-0 up, so of course I place a bet on Real live to hedge this Wink

Phew! No postponements for English games in UCL. City and Liverpool confirming and even Spurs had to apologise after initially saying they would postpone.

More than enough mourning days. We cannot ask teams to play every day after World Cup!

There are quite a lot of participants in the pool, so I assume that at the playoff stage there will be quite a lot of cases when there will be several winners at once. In the penultimate round in the Premier League pool (or the round before) weren't there 9 players who scored the same number of points? This option is possible here also.

Yeah, I'll try and see if we can get clarification, I don't recall there being that many joint yellow cappers, it must have been a really short round -- which shouldn't affect UCL until the final games. Fairly certain Yellow Cap methodology is tried and tested!

In any case, yeah, we'll come back with some confirmations, icopress will be sure to get it to us.

Nice round off KTC!

@Harko casper Trofo

Well, seems like most of us got almost everything right in this round, so far all my bets have ridden quite well also, but I won't count my chickens till they hatch, hopefully I don't get a letdown

Do agree Torino will push for Europe, but I'm just waiting for Napoli and Atalanta to disappoint us, Lazio will no doubt also want in on some of the letdown action heh heh. Tough wins, back to regular low-scoring mode maybe, BTTS didn't work out much last night huh.

Can you believe Salernitana are only 76/10 to win tonight? Sign of Juventus weakness?
3496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽️ Betnomi.com ⚽️ Bundesliga Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: September 11, 2022, 09:58:57 AM
The last two rounds of the Bundesliga have been something else entirely, the fixtures have been extremely unpredictable, Bayern Munich dropping points against Stuttgart is another result that anyone couldn't have seen coming.

The worst thing is I had bets on Stuttgart AND on Union to win, and they both only managed to draw (Union though should just have kept their heads). Of course, now I'll probably stop betting for a while and Bayern will lose ha.

as i have participated in the last two premier league pools, i know you quite well and your nick is already very familiar to me Wink
and i think it's a real pity that you missed the registration for this great bundesliga pool... i hope that you will be there next season then Smiley

It would have been far too much for me probably, as I can see already neglecting a pool or two, but yes, am definitely joining the one next season (and maybe see you in some others that time too!).
3497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bull run 'getting interesting' as BTC price hits 6-week high on: September 11, 2022, 07:45:21 AM
Once again we've risen back to a local high, we are just under the 50 day average.   I think we are due to pause here for reinforcements before continuing even if positive.   The dollar index has dropped some but I would not us to only move upwards without halting just yet as we were so negative just days ago.

Yeah. Honestly was expecting it to tempt bears at sub 18k... Especially after losing so much ground over a bung of nothing speech. And then we get this reprieve from dollar weakness. Still feels like we need a lot of hand holding at this stage and continued dollar negatives. Too fragile for a strong move up.
3498  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin, Not for everyone. on: September 10, 2022, 06:31:00 PM
Can side along with "Bitcoin is not for everyone" as I've certainly seen how it's not for the majority of people -- because the majority of people attracted to Bitcoin are attracted to its prospects of profitability... which is why speculation is still Bitcoin's biggest use case (at the moment). Hate saying it but it's true for the majority of people.

This has nothing to do with units of Bitcoin. Even at $1 Bitcoin wasn't for everyone Wink

Cool. I wasn't sure I had time to put in my changes this week, such a busy weekend with almost no time to do anything other than post on forum here while travelling.

Things for me to do on next change:
- FORMATION (yeah, dumb, I stuck with what I had)
- Free Chip (delayed using it and now it's refreshed, maybe I use this early on instead).

Wow guys, I swear I forgot all about this thread. The main one full of spam, promise I'll join this one in future or at least pop up here instead. Cleaner! And some familiar names (cygan, 1miau, even if I'm sure you may not recognise me)

@casperBGD
But wow Leipzig, looks like manager getting fired doing the job for them (and glad I eased off betting against them, really enjoyed them losing in Europe)... while BVB the complete opposite. Bayern must be laughing and maybe even trying to be as sporting as possible to drop points in injury time at their rivals' results!
