3501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FURY VS WILDER WHO YA GOT? #FuryWilder3 on: October 10, 2021, 01:41:14 AM
Keeping my fingers crossed for this fight, waiting to see if Wilder can come up with any result different from the last fight. I hope his team has been able to spot his excesses and correct the errors he made, else he will still be the side that looses again to the Gypsy King. I also hope that Fury doesn't disappoint us all by underestimating Wilder as well, his right hand can be fatal too.
3502  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Library ? Or Internet ? on: October 10, 2021, 01:00:48 AM
Where do you think is best to get reliable information ?
Most people feel reluctant to spend time in the library and maybe not user friendly to them, although vital information can be gotten there.

The internet makes access to information easy. I see the internet as a huge conglomerate of unrestricted and uncontrolled information. Hence for the fact that is is uncontrolled and information can easily be provided/obtained from anyone qualified or unqualified, information gotten must be verified as it is not completely reliable.

Reliable information can be obtained from the library owing that they are hard copies of information or research that has gone through proper analysis before publishing, however this information may be outdated and not applicable to some present day situations. The information there are reliable for reference purposes.

3503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is telling people you're into stocks "cool" but crypto is a big secret? on: October 10, 2021, 12:36:36 AM

2. Security purposes. Remember, unlike stocks where you have a custodial services keeping for you your investment, for  Bitcoin, you are in full control of your long term investments via paper or hardware wallets. You are a damn moving bank and by telling people you have a certain amount of Bitcoin, you are putting a target on yourself.

Exactly, you should consider your security mostly. Because telling people may just put you in harms way. It's not like it should be a complete secret, but it is not something to always talk and brag about to people and everyone you come across. If you speak about it so much, and someone happens to get a hold of your phone or devices where your wallet is stored, you could loose all your portfolio and have no idea who did it. You should generally be careful who you discuss investments that you have with.
3504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No one talks about Sic Bo!? on: October 09, 2021, 02:02:46 PM

This is honestly the first time I saw that game.

In terms of popularity, I can say it's far from being popular as online gambling

Same thing here, first time seeing it. Not sure this game is popular in my locale, many people here are not so interested in anything else but Soccer, some basketball, some tennis, athletics, and a few for golf. Even the regular dice game which this game is an advance of from what i have read, is not popular or even spoken about in my environment.
3505  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: October 09, 2021, 01:30:59 PM
I just dey laugh when I dey listen to radio station this morning wey some guys come dey talk about bitcoin investment program lol.
Dem dey advertise dey ask people to send YES to the numba wey dem call out for interest and seat reservation. As usual with Nigeria stuff na, greedy people wey think say na them first sabi new thing go like go public to collect public money take join there own take travel outside  Grin

I dey wonder wetin dem want tell the participants wey no go end for register with certain money and invest with another money and within one month, gbemu or big alert go begin show up but them go forget say bear dey oo, that one go dey hidden from participants. And finally finally, dem go chop people money waka. No be today wey ynash don dey for back oo. We wey dey here dey privileged and know better.

Unfortunately my brother, the people wey be the organisers of all those kind parole dey still dey cash out. Truth na say, as you talk am say we wey dey here dey privileged, my brother plenty people still dey wey nor get that privileged ooo, and based on poverty dey our country well well, people wey dey find way to get from bitcoin sake of say dem dun hear the story, go still fall prey to all this kind people wey dey take advantage of them. Na the sad reality be that. Information dey free now to a large extent, but many people still nor know where to get am from.
3506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: October 09, 2021, 08:59:38 AM

From now on, we will most probably see a completely different team. Newcastle will start bringing very qualified players to the team in the coming transfer window in January. There are rumours like they can sign very big players as Kylian Mbappe. But the Mbappe transfer doesn't seem realistic to me as he wants to go to Real Madrid, not to a club any different than them. But they can sign so many big players and build a brand new squad.

Yes, Even if Mbappe decides to go to Real Madrid, there are still so many other big performing players like you have said that with good bargain will sign up for Newcastle. I'm excited to see the changes that will come to the team in the next couple of months, I'm excited to see the new big names that will join the squad, excited for the new coach and technical team (if they will). Hopefully they survive this season and don't get relegated, their performance next season will be something to watch out for.
3507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which alt coin is best investment for long term? on: October 09, 2021, 08:47:58 AM
Everyone has an opinion on this, for me, after analysis, i first consider Solana because it is hinged on to some very good projects and because of the NFT on its network, so it's a good indication for me that it is going to be profitable long term. Secondly, i consider BNB because of the successes we have seen and how quickly it has risen to become a coin to look out for. There is still a lot of chance for increment in both their value.
3508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ]: Fury vs Wilder III - THE TRILOGY IS BACK ON !!! on: October 09, 2021, 08:32:45 AM
Whether it's a KO or by Decision, Fury would still win this.

Everyone thinks Fury will win, truth is, i do too. Wilder has increased in weight from the last fight where he was 231 to now 238. To me i think its going to make him more slower than before and get tired more quickly. He already had the power for the fight, what he needed was to develop more speed and stamina. Unless Fury let's his guard down and Wilder has plans for a KO considering the weight gain, he has no chance.
3509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Basics things to note before venturing into crypto on: October 09, 2021, 02:36:33 AM
1) you don't always make profits, they're huge losses too, I've lost $300 twice in different occasions, so it's not always Rossy, there are hard time too.

2) Trading Cryptos need PATIENCE, I once lost over $10000 just because of lack of patience, the coin wasn't moving well so I sold it, 5days later, the coin did exceptionally well that I would have made 5Million if I had left it for a bit longer, so Patience is very necessary.

3) You need a mentor, mentors helps to analyze the market and tell you what coin to buy, when to buy it, what coin would pump in the nearest future and the coin that'll delay in pumping.....
As a newbie, if you decide to do all this on your own, you may be running at a lose.

4) You need to be obedient and humble, it's one thing to have a mentor and another thing to take heed to their Instructions and advice.
Most times we just want to act differently from what the ask you to do thereby running into unnecessary loses.

To this list, you should have added that before venturing into crypto, one Should as well see it as a path that to remain profitable in, he/she must be able to subject themselves to constant research and information.

The mentors that OP has said you should depend on (which i don't completely agree with) are just people who have subjected themselves over the years to learning and experience. You can grow as well, as you learn from them and their experiences, also do your own research and learning so as not to remain at the under level forever.
3510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: October 09, 2021, 02:05:12 AM
With the draw, the wales team hope of qualifying for the world cup is still possible. The Czech side is a strong team to play against especially at home, but i think the wales team could have won this game if the keeper had not lost concentration which caused the own goal(he has to do better), and if Bale played. Ramsey's performance for me was very good as well.
3511  Economy / Economics / Re: Permanent inflation or "just temporary" on: October 08, 2021, 06:09:12 PM
When it comes to inflation, i don't really think or see it as a temporary situation. Yes, we may at some point experience temporary calm in the situation of things, but soon after inflation will become a topic again. It is safer to plan to seek out ways to earn more and be able to support your lifestyle, because inflation to me will always be constant.
3512  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Malaria vaccine in Kenya on: October 08, 2021, 05:21:50 PM
Malaria parasite is another deadliest virus that doesn't go away,it's unfortunate that Kenya is now battling with the disease, and probably looking for a vaccine that can treat it.
In my country,Nigeria, malaria parasite is common and treating it is not a problem.we get sick of it every here and now and still recover the moment we take it drugs or vaccine. Some common vaccine we use to control it is quinine tablets,it takes care of the disease.

True that there are drugs already that can effectively fight the malaria parasite, but i think the essence of vaccines is for prevention. Unfortunately some countries and areas even in Nigeria are still being ravaged by mosquitoes and malaria, some malaria parasites have even developed resistance against some drugs that formerly combats the parasite. So eliminating the chances of having malaria from mosquito bites through vaccines especially for children is a big win generally for Africa.
3513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: October 08, 2021, 09:18:38 AM

The long-awaited deal has finally been completed. He had his first attempt turned down by the Premier League last year or so, perhaps some paperwork was skipped at the time, but becoming the richest club in the world with new owners worth £320 billion is a fresh start of what is to come with the new owner aiming for the club to perform at the highest level. I see them getting a good team next season, maybe getting Halaand and Mbappe as major signings, then maybe Navas as a goalie

A breath of fresh air for the Newcastle team and players. The team has really struggled under the ownership of Mike Ashley. Hopefully this new ownership will see the club spend more money to get quality players and a better coach to manage the team. My only concern now is that the team should try to avoid being relegated this season so it doesn't affect the movement of big players to the team.
3514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: October 08, 2021, 04:29:24 AM
Other than a complete dump of your altcoin, why not share your portfolio amongst the two either Bitcoin and other coin so you don't miss on both opportunity.

This is what i do, i personally did not jump early onto the bitcoin project so i am not one of the top gainers from btc. So in order not be a latecomer to some other promising altcoins backed by good projects, i have identified them and have a percentage investment in them. Not so many though, so i can keep track. Also, regardless of the fact that btc has good ROI, i consider investing in it alone as "putting all your eggs in one basket".
3515  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: *Day Traders* are now calling gambling Addiction helplines!! on: October 07, 2021, 06:20:46 PM

My question is : *How far is day trading from Gambling according to you?*
Is that a valid comparison?? Are we soon going to consider the day trading *gambling?*

IMO Day trading has a strong similarity with gambling reason being that they can both become compulsive. I've seen day traders who can't go two minutes without trying to check the charts, even at fun events where one is meant to relax. To me that's an addiction and it's no different from gambling.
3516  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: October 06, 2021, 04:16:07 PM
NEW TOPIC: Undergraduates studying education in public varsities to get N75K per semester Una people dun come with another fake promise, and if den go even do am e no go last like N-Power. Wetin una dey think of this news like dis.

One semester na like 3 months abi? So na like 25k for 3 months? Normally e make sense and na something wey dem fit do, e go help some kind undergraduate well well, but the matter now na say e fit just be BIG BIG TALK. Nor be the same government still talk say dem go dey give primary school children food for school? Abeg you dun say that one dey happen. Them wey wan give undergraduate that kind money, have they settled ASUU? Our government has lost credibility in the eyes of many, to believe their words is to put yourself further in the way of disappointment.

Best advice to any undergraduate here, nor too reason that talk, with the way naija economy dey go, that 75k nor go fit hold one month cun talk of one semester, just try to do your best to earn better for yourself.
3517  Economy / Economics / Is budgeting still effective in tackling the need to constantly withdraw money? on: October 06, 2021, 02:28:55 AM
Withdrawal can become a habit. Once you develop the habit of withdrawing either fiat or converting your crypto holding to local currency for use, It almost becomes so difficult to break.

Needs and wants/problems to solve with money never stop arising, how do you handle your withdrawal? Be sincere, considering that local currency is becoming less of value as the cost of things are constantly rising now, so much that the cost price today is not the cost price tomorrow. Is a budget still effective in your opinion?
3518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice for fun or profits on: October 06, 2021, 02:04:14 AM
I don't play dice, i don't find it fun. So if there was an option to play dice for fun or profit just as OP, i'd play for profit. Although i may not be quick to want to play because just as we all know, it is not a game of strategy and winning is not sure, it is a game of chance/luck, and that day may not be my lucky day. It may just turn out to be a No- fun and loss dice game, lol.

3520  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Zuckerberg Empire appears to be Down. Does anyone know Why? on: October 04, 2021, 08:17:50 PM
I've been on the internet to try see the possible cause of this outage, there are no exact comments yet, just that it has happened on Facebook before sometime ago and there was a possible reason to it.

https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/facebook-instagram-down-whatsapp-latest-b1932071.html

My concern is that they should get back online soonest, i can only but imagine the economic effect this outage has caused today. I'm certain that Mark's team are working to fix this issue now.
