Hello,
I have an idea for a new kind of crypto-coin that has a proof of work that has real practical purposes.
Bitcoin and Litecoin have PoW that really has no real practical value. That is, finding a nounce value that will create a hash with a certain number of zeros.
Primecoin has a PoW that may not have any practical value, but at least it is intellectually interesting as to what it discovers.
I have an idea for a coin that does have an algorithm that has value.
I hope to release the coin in 1-2 weeks time.
Anyway, I am a skilled developer, however I would like to collaborate with 2 additional developers to help me refine my implementation.
Please pm me if you are interested. I would like to work with someone with C,C++,Java or Python skills.
Thanks in advance.

Have to say I really like the idea of a complete bundle, faucet, pool etc included.
Perhaps a quick idea of the prices and time scales?
Nice looking service, good luck!
Send a pm for pricing.

Too bad there is probably some loophole by which this thing will sneak out from under laws restricting the possession and provision of burglary tools. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Step right up folks, everything you need to start your own pyramid scheme / ponzi of the latest and greatest variety, all the rage right now: cryptocoins! -MarkM- I don't see what your issue is. Crypto-coins are like websites. Each website has a specific purpose. There are millions of websites with specific purposes. There will be millions of crypto-coins with specific purposes. So I don't see what you mean here by 'burglary tools'.

Two questions:
(1) Does Bitcoin allow transactions to go directly from one client to another circumventing the network? (Did they recently disable this?)
(2) Can a user capture a transaction and sent the transaction via a different means (i.e. email or http) and have the transaction activated (or submitted) on the bitcoin network at a later time?

I'm relatively new to mining, as I've only been mining using a pool (Coin-o-tron) for a month and a half now, and I just did it as a lark to see if my super low hash-rate computer would do anything. It hasn't. The interface displays my stats in Mh, which I'm assuming is not a good sign, especially since its in the single-digits. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) I'm thinking that the only way to mine now effectively, would be to purchase space (or re-purpose personal space in your apartment or home) to store 10 industrial-strength servers side-by-side to participate in a mining pool. Is everybody mining in a pool? If so, what are the most reputable ones? If not, how does one set up a mining operation on a single stand-alone PC. Another random question - does the speed of the internet connection matter? I wouldn't think so, but I'm not 100% on this. Can anybody comment? The biggest issue is the power requirements... can your apartment's circuitry handle the load... you don't want to burn your house down.

Just that question. I would like to know if I should go for LiteCoin or start with the new FeatherCoin.
Please let me know what you prefer and why, just to make my decision easier.
I already mine for Bitcoin but since I'm hearing a lot of other alt-coins I would like to use one of the 2 listed above.
Is this a serious question?

The factor people seem to be missing is yes gox would cause the price to spike and High but for all different reasons. Most not cyrpto fans and average mom and dad speculators only know of gox. Places like BTCe scare them Gox still has a majority of the traffic and volume. That cant be discounted and when it does pop up on gox eventually people will rush to buy because its "new" not knowing about the 1001 Alts.
BTC-E doesn't look like a trustworthy site.

all depends on a lot of factors.

This looks very different from bitcoin. Centralized credit system rather than decentralized monetary system. Apple can create and destroy credits on this system at will, but most likely will have them reflect dollars or other fiat currencies.
hmmm... wonder if this is related to the current drop in BTC.

Hi, i started having this problem when i run the -server option too. It happens when the computers are turned off unexpectedly. I have four mining servers and at first just one was affected, so I just pointed cgminer at the other server which was working, but now all of them are affected so I am forced to find out whats causing the problem. Once I figure it out I will post it here.
This is what i have tried so far with no success: Delete all files from the bitbar folder in the appdata directory (make sure you make a backup copy of wallet.dat before doing this) Delete the bitbar-qt.exe folder with all files.
This did not fix the problem. Will keep you posted with my progress.
not looking good.

Hi I saw a few other posts about people using LTCasics.com to buy gift cards so I went to buy a $25 Amazon gift card and I sent the 9.xxx LTC and it says:
"We have not yet received your full payment. If you already sent it, try again in a few seconds. If you receive this message multiple times, please contact us so we can help finalize your order."
Its fully confirmed and even after couple hours says same thing. I emailed the website contact so hopefully he can resolve it. Would be pretty cool redeeming LTC for e-gift cards rather than going through the LTC->BTC->coinbase
I thought that was more of a demo site.

These will be comparable to the existing ones on the market. We'd hope to get here a little sooner but didn't beat the competition to it. That being said we're still an alternative if you're unable to get your hands on there's.
300MH/s Hashrate and power consumption comparable to the competition. They will be going for 1.5 BTC each as a prepurchase price and can be ordered in groups of 10 per person. We expect to be shipping them within a month's time though that could be delayed up to two months depending on a few factors (this should not happen).
If you're interested please PM me but as I am dual representing our group here and also working I am very busy so please only serious buyers.
what is the hash rate?
