~snip~

Like any other hobby, gambling requires the player to have free time and money. If you came into the world of gambling in order to make money and think that someone will be able to teach you this, you are deeply mistaken. Gambling is a place where people have fun and spend free money earned by their hard work.

3525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Weekly/monthly financial statements, which do you prefer? on: July 31, 2021, 12:24:05 PM
I do think that it's always a plus point when instead of depending on the weekly and monthly financial statements, you can just check ✅ your bets, wins, losses since at the end of the day, it won't just be beneficial overall but also can give you a sense of responsibility and more personal insight.
For me I do not Gamble and then check how much did I use, but rather, I calculate the amount of money I can afford to loose. Every month is different and we cannot predict anything for certainty.
-Most of the Gamblers on forum are really responsible and serious, the drunk gambling is entirely different, I think if you are playing online you can always put a pin in it and be calculative and meticulous.

That's right. As has been said many times before, you need to be able to separate the entertainment. If you want to play then you don't need to drink alcohol and drink just a little to lift your spirits. In my opinion it's better to play sober and already after the game to get drunk if you really want to.
3526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: July 30, 2021, 06:36:02 PM
I often come across this opinion (mostly supported by the casinos themselves): in a casino legally you can only lose, if you win then you break the rules. This approach makes me very angry and by the way it is also very common among bookmakers who like to introduce various restrictive measures against successful bettors.

Yes, I've heard stories about how some sites are blocking honest bettors who are well versed in sports gambling and who win several wins in a row. If I'm not mistaken such guys are forced to play only through a VPN as their IP addresses are collected in a database and blocked.

How can a responsible gambler not remember how much money he spent on gambling or alcohol? A responsible person doesn't get drunk to the point where he can't remember what happened yesterday. A person who consumes alcohol in such quantities will not be helped by any financial reports.  Grin

The original idea behind cryptocurrencies was that it was impossible for any regulator to be involved in the process of buying and selling assets. That is why online casinos were happy to include support for cryptocurrencies. Currently, state-regulated casinos cannot provide the user with anonymity and security of their personal data. In addition, regulators cannot completely secure us from fraud. That is why I am against any regulation.
3529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Weekly/monthly financial statements, which do you prefer? on: July 30, 2021, 04:39:51 AM
A person who counts his income and expenses always knows how much money and what he spent. In my opinion, receiving financial reports from the gambling site will not affect the activity of a gambler. But improving their financial literacy may well help to reduce spending, not only on gambling but also on other entertainment.
3530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: July 30, 2021, 04:27:50 AM
You guys all tried gambling for the first time sooner or later, and I think most of you had your first gambling experience long before you were of age. Every parent should ask their child what they are doing on the Internet and you can always view their activity history in your browser or put a restriction on watching Youtube which will prevent very young children from being exposed to gambling advertisements.
3531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: July 29, 2021, 06:21:42 PM
I think it's unrealistic to protect children from gambling. Almost every child who spends his free time with his peers at least once in his life has played money in a card game and it's not about upbringing. The point is that each of us gets our own life experience, regardless of whether it's good or bad.

I absolutely agree with your point of view. Even if the player was able to make good money on the slot machine which had in its code error, the owner of the slot machine should pay him all the earned remuneration or at least generously thank him for finding the existing bug.

Boxing has a long history as its ancestor was fist fights, the evidence of which goes back hundreds of years. In my opinion, boxing is one of the most spectacular contact sports and it is really a sport compared to slapping competitions.

3537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: July 28, 2021, 04:30:39 PM
If the player is initially determined to find weaknesses in the code/algorithm of the slot machine and use it to win, then this is quite adequate (although in many cases it is illegal and it is necessary to look at the details in each individual case). If he just plays by the rules that are included in the gaming machine and hopes to beat it, then this is just silly.

To cheat a slot machine you need to replace the firmware unnoticed by the owner of this slot machine but such players are not able to do it, they try to catch luck by the tail thinking that the algorithm can cheat with the help of requests, prayers, etc. That's why guys like this have always made me laugh.

Yes, such cases are ridiculous, but sometimes players can find real vulnerabilities and exploit it. For example, I read that in some slot machine, after several losses, the player received a "hint" ie guaranteed to receive one win. At the same time, the slot machine did not take into account the change in the bet size, i.e. the player first lost on micro stakes and after that he was guaranteed to win at the maximum bet.

Of course, this situation can not be excluded, but I think that the error in the software code will be quickly found and eliminated, as the owner of the gaming machine knows how much money it should bring under the conditions they set.
3538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling ombudsman - do you feel protected? on: July 28, 2021, 12:20:17 PM
Gambling regulation has both positive and negative sides. As a supporter of anonymity I am not very interested in sharing my personal information with a casino or KYC provider just because I wanted to play some slots or poker. So I am more likely to give up any protection in favor of anonymity.
3539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: July 28, 2021, 12:09:25 PM
If a gambling site does not violate any rules, norms and pays taxes, then it is not obliged to treat people with gambling addiction. This should be done by the state, which has licensed gambling activities on its territory and collects taxes from gambling sites.
