3521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Just seeing what interest there is for another Betnomi Poker Series on: January 05, 2022, 12:50:17 PM
~ I want everyone to post their thoughts so we can try to get as many in as we can. Everyone may not be able to play every week but a person can miss a game and still be ok.

I participated in all previous Bitcointalk Poker Series, and I can confirm that a game or two can be missed without a huge damage to your position in the leaderboard. But, of course, the more games you play, the better. Smiley

Just an FYI, I was given the ok to make this super large if I wanted. Just something to think about, but this could get as large as 5k.

You mean, $5k added by Betnomi to the prize pool? That's a big number. Maybe if added to the title, it could get more interest to the thread. Smiley

I suppose we are talking about tourney format. How long is that supposed to last? I guess if there are 10-12 players like last time it can't last long, unless the ratio between the starting stack and the size of the blinds is high (and the speed of the increase not very high).
~

It can last for more than 3 hours even with 10-12 players. Btw, were you playing last time, or were you watching those amazing streams by @Globb0? Those were great times. I remember rewatching the games with my wife later. Globb0 is an awesome commentator, hope he'll join us this time.

~ I suppose that at the end of the tournaments we will also comment hands and plays in the forum, right?

That's right, we were always doing it. Looking at your forum name, I can't wait to be playing with you. Join up! Smiley
3522  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: January 05, 2022, 12:02:19 PM
Guys, another round of FortuneJack's Majestic7 is on. Make your predictions, and don't forget to save them. Who knows, maybe one of us will manage to make 7 out of 7 right and get $10k in cash. Smiley

I have a question to FJ team. It is said in the Terms & Conditions for this event: "Once the prediction is submitted in the Majestic 7, it cannot be edited or altered in any way". Not knowing about this, I just successfully edited my prediction for the first game, but when I tried to edit another one, I got this alert

So, my question is can we or can we not edit our predictions? Smiley
3523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 05, 2022, 11:23:17 AM
~

The "MONEY" Mayweather sure could earn that high in just 1 fight the word Money is accompanied in his name that is why many boxers sure want to really fight him, and even they attain a lost to Mayweather they would surely gain enough money to sustain themselves and their family,

But we can not compare the average profit in UFC and with boxing, if we compare both events boxing events tend to have just 3 to 1 fights only while in the UFC, 1 event could have a potential of more than 10 fights per event, so the event money gains will be divided by each fighter, but the sad truth is Dana White is the one getting a huge sum in every event per Pay Per View, anyway, we can not compare every profit in the UFC with an exhibition match in a Jake Paul match because all the sum of money they would get will be divided in each fighter, plus the show money a fighter can get, well even though a fighter loss they still get a large sum of money right.

Happy New Year To all

Her's a great boxer, no doubt about it, but looking at his boxing record, Total fights: 50, Wins:   50, Wins by KO:27, Losses: 0, I think he should be extremely thankful to have such good managers throughout his career. On the other hand, it wasn't only because of luck that he got them. He was born into a family of boxers, his father and uncles were professionals, so surely they had right connections. And, of course, he's a genius himself, a hard working one, you can't take that away from him.
3524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 04, 2022, 02:24:19 PM
This might be the best day i had this season in predicting results and am really happy with how everything ended today. Got 3 points on City  and 1.5 on both West Ham and Tottenham. I hope that i get tommorow even better results, but tommorow is really hard as far as i see and i think we will see a lot of movement tommorow on the leaderboard.

Great start of the year. Congrats on getting 10 points in Round 21 before it has ended even. We still have 3 games ahead and I wish you to get even more points with them! Smiley

I just compared our results for this round, and it's amazing how similar our predictions were:

You beat me on that Chelsea-Liverpool match, but if only I would have given 1 less goal to my fav team, I'd have the exact result!  Cheesy

Anyway, it wasn't a bad round for me either.

Finishing in the top 10 is an honor for me.
3525  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should we focus this year? on: January 04, 2022, 01:36:14 PM
That's right, even though I'm new to bitcoin, but I'll try my best if I can also enter trading just to make money and this year in the new year I also need to focus on it so I can know how to make money with crypto and how to invest and more.  all how to enter trading we just have to endure newbies must learn everything soon.

Only be very careful with that and when researching don't trust those "experts" too much. No one can tell you exactly in what direction the price is going. What you can do is to read several different predictions on reliable sites and then find the arithmetic mean, and bet on that number. But not too much, only what you can afford to lose. Don't try to make trading your main source of income, just have fun with it. Smiley

Right now, when it's less than 2 days left, and it looks like Bitcoin is going down,
I wouldn't say I bet wrong for it to be in the "$40,001 - $45,000" range at 23.59 UTC on the 31st of December 2021. Smiley Again, of course I expect a new ATH soon, in the beginning of January, maybe. I just want to win my bet, and then I want BTC to the moon. Smiley

You definitely didn't bet wrong this time. $40k - $45k is a solid bet for the current cycle but I do hope you had also placed a bet in the $45k - $50k range as well.
The current price is at $47k and looks like there's a good support at $46k but if you are indeed lucky then you might get a good multiplier in the sub $45k range.

It appeared I did bet wrong. Smiley The price was around $46k at midnight on the 31st of December. Super close to "$40,001 - $45,000" range, but not exactly there. And, no, I didn't bet on the "$45,001 - $50,000" range because of the 5.10x multiplier, too small for a New Year's Eve miracle. Smiley

~Recently I won 3,900 Lottery Tickets with WoF(rare thing these days, right?)
~

That is indeed rare these days. It has been months since I have won anything outside double digit rewards.
Yes, agree recently they have done few changes so just because of this it's very rare to win any big prize I try nearly 100 WoF and shocking have nothing big prize all were just double-digit which were very less but still it's all doing good for all community here on this forum.

I ended up having almost 5k lottery tickets this time, but it wasn't enough to win any prizes from the draw. Can't call it bad luck, because my win chance was still around 0.04% or something. Smiley

3. Play games by Fugaso, Playson, Endorphina or Betsoft

The tournament type is Highest Win Multiplier and it runs until January 5.

~

Happy New Year, Karl, and everyone here!

It's a great idea to start 2022 with even more fun and prizes. Smiley

I opted in, and played Fruit Zen by BetSoft for some time, and then switched to Book Of Santa by Endorphina. I won nothing this time, I mean, moneywise, but in terms of mood improvement it was a great experience. As Karl said above, "Gambling is a great way to make life more cheerful", and this what I absolutely agree with. We shouldn't be trying to make money with gambling, our main goal must be to relax and have fun. In this way we'll never be disappointed, and, of course, winning some money as a bonus is never ruled out. Wink
3529  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: January 04, 2022, 10:45:54 AM
I see nothing immoral there either. Basically, in those videos you can see what might happen when this or that slot was played. I mean it would be immoral if they were editing their videos to make it look like they were winning big amounts while in reality it never happened. But they never do that kind of stuff. They are showing real spins, and that's why I like to watch such videos, but of course I know the probability of that happening to me, so I don't expect winning 20,000x within an hour of playing. It can happen, but most likely it will not.

But these videos DO exaggerate the ease of which big wins can be obtained, because the streamers play in a way that maximizes their chances of getting the jackpot without any consideration of how much money they lose in the process - because it's not their money!

I'm not completely sure about it. I mean, it's a fact that streamers are paid by gambling sites, but the mechanism is unknown to me. For instance, apart from their salary, they can be given $10k(or $100k, depending on the level of the streamer) to play slots on a platform, and whatever they win with that goes to their pocket, something like freebets, only without wagering requirement. In that case they would act more naturally when winning big or losing a lot. I think that's how it's done, but I'm not sure about it.

3531  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-12-15] Analysts expect Bitcoin trend change after Fed lays out its roadmap on: January 03, 2022, 01:14:55 PM
@Betwrong. I am quite certain that those whales who are using leverage to pump bitcoin to another all time high is not betting on bitcoin’s wide adoption hehe. They are betting that they can get more fiat after they dump. Fiat that they will use to buy cryptocoins on leverage again. It has always been like this while we are tricked to think that the reason for the pump is adoption.

Well, I think it goes both ways(at least). If there were no adoption on the horizon, the price of BTC would be always going down, and the spikes those people expecting to dump during, would never appeared.

I've been always wondering, what people really mean when they call Bitcoin "only an object of speculation"? I mean, for how long it can be such a thing? Normally, such projects fail within 3-4 years max. And Bitcoin is here for so long because many people believe that it will be very useful in the future.

Adoption has done nothing for an overleveraged market that market makers have taken from $3000 to $60k within 2 years through use of leverage. Read this article published in protos.com. It shows that 70% of all USDT went to market makers and whales and much of these went to Alameda Research, a market maker and cryptofund of Sam Bankman-Fried.

As Protos reported in August, market makers Alameda Research (spearheaded by crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried) and Cumberland Global (a subsidiary of trading giant DRW) are still the biggest fish in Tether markets.

Together, Alameda and Cumberland received at least $60.3 billion in USDT across the time period analyzed, equal to around 55% of all outbound volume — ever.

Source https://protos.com/tether-papers-crypto-stablecoin-usdt-investigation-analysis/

To be honest, I'm not a big expert in stable coins, and I don't fully understand their impact on the crypto market. I remember people were saying about Dec 2017's jump to $19k that it had something to do with "Tether scam". Is this that kind of thing?

If you could explain it in simple words whether those people were right or wrong, it would be amazing. Smiley Because since BTC hit a new ATH, much higher then back in Dec 2017, with no new Tether, I think they were wrong. But again, I'm not a big expert in the field.
3532  Economy / Economics / Re: Robert Kiyosaki expects a market crash and economic crisis - do you believe it? on: January 03, 2022, 12:29:01 PM
I'm actually waiting for the big crash to happen, and It seems like it is nearing to happen as Bitcoin price is gradually going down.
This advice from Robert Kiyosaki is actually an opportunity to earn more profit in the future, because Bitcoin is always gonna bounce back stronger after a bearish season.
Market crash isn't something to be worried of, and It's already expected after a long bullish run, the market needs to consolidate to continue moving forward.
You are sounding like market crash on crypto space but I guess OP is all about worldwide economic slowdown and then tis consequence of market crash on every country's economy and not just limited to crytpo space. I mean if another economic recession comes like 2008, I guess crypto will boom whereas stocks will fall. So, you may NOT get chances to accumulate bitcoin at cheaper prices, lol.

Moreover, that is is my basic idea about cryptocurrency against world economy but anything could happen because when pandemic hit for the first time, cryptocurrency also reacted to it but bounced back quicker than stock markets.

It could be that the chance to accumulate bitcoin at cheaper price is now. Bitcoin was above the current price most of the time in 2021. Those who want to buy cheap BTC can try to wait until another $30k, but it's risky because it may never happen. Each time BTC was briefly around $30k in 2021, it was bouncing up quickly from there.

Regarding Kiyosaki, it's actually good to read experts' opinions, but imo he's not even in the top 100 you should read.
3533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: January 03, 2022, 11:56:30 AM
~Maybe you don't know that all those adverts that is always sent to him can trigger the feelings of gambling again. Gambling addiction is a spirit which needs to be avoided of not.

Even if he does not receive any advert/promotional email, the trigger may come from other place where he lives or even it may come from his own mind.
The key of recovering from addiction is on ourselves, success or not will be depending on ourselves as we are the one who responsible for our own problems.
Never blame other parties of our problems, we should find our own best way to solve it.

Absolutely. If we can be triggered by an e-mail, then we can be triggered by anything, from a scene in a movie to a graffiti on a dirty wall.  Those are all excuses from dealing with the problem properly. A gambling addict should be visiting a specialist, and maybe taking some medicines, until nothing could make him gamble again. Before that day giving this person money(including such money he's trying to get from Stake) would only worsen his condition.
3534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Historical Bitcoin Prices😊 on: January 03, 2022, 11:21:17 AM
~ It is a matter of time seeing bitcoin will hit $100k in 2022 as I am sure that bitcoin will go to that price. Meanwhile, we can feel satisfied with the current price because we can back sell some bitcoin and enjoy the profit with our family. This year gives more profit for me and I am sure we can make another profit in the next year so we can still hope while we keep trying to prepare ourselves for the next bull run.

It's nice to see that I'm not alone in thinking the same. Right now, when BTC is down by 7% in the last 7 days, it might look crazy to predict $100k this year, but if you read the history of Bitcoin price, you can see that there were times when people were saying that Bticoin will never reach $1 USD. I mean, it seemed as impossible as $100k seems right now. Smiley

Am not saying, sell everything and buy Bitcoin, but if you have some sats, try not to sell them at deep.
3535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Just seeing what interest there is for another Betnomi Poker Series on: January 03, 2022, 10:37:30 AM
I suggest everyone to write their preferences regading time, tourneys per week and buy-ins; and then, maybe, it will be easier to discuss the final schedule. Here's mine:

1. Starting time:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday - From 5 PM UTC to 8 PM UTC

2. Buy-ins:

If one game per week: $15 - $20
If 2 games per week: $8 - $12

But those are just my preferences. I've been waiting for this for so long that I feel like I'm going to agree to any scenario that's good for the majority. Smiley
3536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fear is not Real. on: January 01, 2022, 11:39:07 AM
~
~ Regarding borrowing money to solve urgent financial problems, it can be done, if indeed we no longer have coins that can be sold. But as long as we still have coins to sell, we should not borrow money from anywhere

That's what I think too, but I heard many times things like OP is saying here: "Fear is not Real", "Sooner or later we'll hit a new ATH", "Hodl, don't sell" etc. I personally believe those words myself, but there are times when you have to cash out even though you know well that the price may be several times higher in the future. I'm an optimist regarding the future of Bitcoin, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to bet big money on that, especially short term.

Floyd Mayweather earned more than $560 million
vs
Conor McGregor earned around  $15 million

OMG, somehow I've missed that fighters could be earning such numbers. I knew that some of them were making tens of millions in one fight, but what I read in the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor wiki article really shocked me. They say Mayweather reportedly earned $280 million from the fight. This is more than highest-paid movie stars earning in a whole year! I've been always thinking that movie stars were the ones who earns the most.

Well, it's never too late to learn something new, even just a few hours before the New Year. Smiley

Have a great New Year's Eve celebration, guys, and be happy in 2022!
