3521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Reputation on: September 26, 2022, 03:21:58 PM
It might be an issue for professionals in countries where gambling is illegal, due to the local culture, traditions and common sense, but I don't see it as being a problem in countries where gambling is allowed. Imagine a country like United States where they have Las vegas as a very common touristic city and gambling hub. Many people visit their casinos, including members of judiciary, professors and even religious authorities. And that is seen as a common thing there without further prejudice for those professionals' careers and reputation.

US regulations don't mean too much on the big picture, I suppose. Whales, institutional investors, rich people can continue investing in bitcoin while avoiding regulations if they invest from countries which have a friendly stance towards crypto. That is quite logical and possible for people with million or billion of fiat to invest in btc.

What is weakening bitcoin are the high interest rates offered in US and now in Europe. On short run it has a great negative impact on crypto investors, but on long run it also doesn't mean a lot, as with inflation, naturally investors will have to give up on fiat and migrate to something else again, possibly bitcoin as they did during the covid pandemic in 2021, when fiat was greatly depreciating and the global scenario was unclear.
3523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 26, 2022, 03:43:38 AM
My worst day in gambling was when I lost 10% of my entire bankroll and had to quit playing because that was my stop loss. It still affects me a lot, because it will take a decent length of time until I recover that money. Meanwhile I can't gamble anymore and I also have to be more economical from now on in every aspects of my life in order to recover that money as soon as possible.

There is nothing I can do to change what happened, but I do regret about what I did and I'm not going to repeat that again futurely. I put too much faith on luck and forgot reason...
3524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: September 25, 2022, 11:22:44 PM
now or reputable project coin it is doesn’t matter . you must keep your eyes on a project which project is much stronger and which project team always care there token. reputable gambling or non gambling project token can help you. coz all reputable project team always care about there tokens and product also there are no doubt . but always do own research is a best way to investment
Choosing gambling tokens is not as easy as with other non gambling token analysis because gambling tokens are still very low in the crypto market and we must be careful if you are interested in investing in gambling tokens, many gamblers use gambling tokens to get utility from gambling games and not for other purposes. investments, even leading gambling projects that support crypto do not create tokens as it impacts the reputation of the project in the long term.
I believe an investor should make his decision based on what features that token offers for holders, instead of expecting to make profit from the token price's fluctuations (trading). If the features are interesting, attractive and the casino is legit, it can be a good alternative to invest your money, but every details must be analyzed closely first, because as we know there are a lot of scam attempts and weak projects on this crypto market which lead investors losing money eventually.
Features meant nothing for sure. This time i hope that you need to pay attention to the another aspects like result from the development, intention to be listed in biggest exchange site, revenue from platforms, liquidity and many more. Picking the best one is the hardest thing once almost all of these tokens have pretty similar features. There are only a few legits gambling tokens in the market while the rest were just bunch of scam tokens in the market.
Features are the most important aspect of casinos' tokens. If they provide staking program, extra spins, a share of casino's profit, increased rakeback/cashback, more referral bonus you have to calculate how profitable those features will be for real. In case you conclude it's going to generate some nice income for you compared to the amount of money you have to invest on the native token it must be interesting to try the investment. Consequently, you don't have to worry about profiting through trading, because you will be already profiting just by holding the tokens.

3526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 24, 2022, 11:23:18 PM
Twitch has turned into a cesspool of gambling addicts and gambling pushers. Do you think it's a responsible content creation & moderation on a platform which is used by teens, kids, and young adults?
The platform could add a warning message on gambling lives and channels without completely banning it. There is no reason to ban gambling content just because there are kids accessing the website, otherwise youtube and every social medias would have to remove this content as well. Moreover, to educate people regards the dangers of gambling you can't completely remove gambling content from the internet. They must understand gambling exists, it's part of daily life, many people around them can be gamblers and their only option is to deal with this situation in a way they don't prejudice themselves.

If you pretend gambling doesn't exist by removing it from platforms like Twitch, people will have an illusion they are safe from its risks, while the reality is that they will not be able to deal with a gambling situation when they face it for real.
3527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 24, 2022, 10:03:00 PM
Well, if a gambler keeps winning for a long time it will light an alert signal on the casino side, driving their attention to that gamblers specifically. They will investigate why he is winning so much and take action against him, probably inviting him to leave the house. I'm not sure if this kind of thing has happened in legit online casinos platforms, but there are some stories it has happened at land based ones.

I guess if it's counting cards or any other trick it is just an excuse. The goal is to remove the 'lucky' player from the casino.
3528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 09:12:57 PM
On long run gamblers can't beat the house. Even if that gambler went home with 8000$ and didn't come back on the next hour or day to lose everything he would have lost it along his future gambling sessions. What he could have done was to use this money better through a proper management, so he could play for more time and have more entertainment with that same sum of money, instead of wasting everything on next hour after he has hit the prize. I believe he got too excited for winning such money and wasn't able to control his emotions. Let's hope this situation was useful as learnship for him.
3529  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the pet industry recession-proof? on: September 23, 2022, 04:31:45 PM
Isn't it possible that the industry is growing proportionally to the inflation? Let's say pets products' prices have increased 10% in one year, at same time the industry has grown 7%-8% on that same time period. If that is the case, people aren't spending more with pets, they are simply maintaining the same budget all the time, what is expected, since people who can afford such expenses with pets aren't in the lowest classes of society.

On the other hand, I'm aware of several cases of poor people who abandon their dogs on desert roads and even kill them at home at some point. Actually, I doubt most animals, especially dogs, are being well treated in the world, although the mindset nowadays is changing to a more humanist approach towards animals.
3530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 23, 2022, 03:02:12 PM
If we talk about a future where technology will develop much better than now, there is a possibility that AR and VR technology will also have a better form. Currently, the technology is still in development and has not yet reached its maximum stage because its appearance is still not as smooth or "live" as we see it in the real world. So I don't think it will be implemented into gambling yet because I think the price to buy the equipment is still quite expensive for most gamblers who still prefer to use the existing technology. But that will change when the equipment price can be cheaper so they can buy it easily. It all depends on how much it costs people to buy the equipment and if it's still expensive, not everyone will try it.
The problem is that the technology is still just a promise. There isn't anything visually enjoyable offered by metaverse projects yet. I believe most gamblers won't feel tempted into adopting this new feature to see themselves and other gamblers around them in cartoonish graphics which were firstly designed for kids a long time ago. Gamblers need something more realistic and attractive to have an immersive experience in this new world, otherwise it's just a marketing strategy by big companies like Alibaba to join the currently hype which has reached the currently importance stage mostly due to facebook metaverse's propaganda.
3531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gacha Game on: September 22, 2022, 07:34:51 PM
I agree they can be considered gambling. Players may get addicted on the rewards and won't measure any limits in order to acquire what they want. They can spend hundreds of even thousands of dollars until winning the desired skin or skill in order to stand out among other players or maintain a top position on the game's ranking.

The only difference to traditional gambling is that in this case players aren't looking for money or profit with their gambling addiction. They are looking for status and prestige.
3532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the market rise in september on: September 22, 2022, 06:25:18 PM
September is being the worse month for crypto in the entire year. Bitcoin is hardly touching the 20,000$ price, always being dragged down when it reaches close to the mark. The world is collapsing in war and economical crisis and those might be the reason why crypto market can't recover itself right now. Speculators are making profit with the raise in interest rates executed by governments (more recently it was England raising 0,5%) on their local countries, therefore they are moving funds out of crypto, but this tendency must be reverted in 1 or 2 years (maybe 3 or 4 in worst case).
3533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nobel prize for Satoshi. on: September 22, 2022, 03:34:25 PM
Personally I think the most important recognization Satoshi has already achieved without Nobel prize or any other honorable mention by authorities or centralized organizations, groups of power and interest. Satoshi has the respect and acknowledgment from common anonymous people of the world who have adopted bitcoin and changed their lives considerably thanks to the decentralized blockchain's ecosystem. After all, that is what really matters and confers him the assurance he accomplished with his duty in this world for a good cause that impacted hundreds of thousands of people positively and will reach many more yet.
3534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gambling Companies and Bitcoin on: September 21, 2022, 06:56:32 PM
Not only gambling companies, but you can think about any kind of business which accepts bitcoin operating in every countries. How can they accept bitcoin for products and services if it's not legal tender? Thankfully there aren't laws which prohibits bitcoin from being accepted in most countries of the world. People have freedom to accept the payment method they wish and with casinos it's not different. They simply have to fullfil what the local regulators ask for. Since they deal with btc, they probably just need to declare authorities annually their btc income in fiat values proportionally.
3535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What amount of fiat and/bitcoin would you consider safe holding in a bear market on: September 21, 2022, 04:29:39 PM
At this point I don't know what is more risky: a bearish crypto market or fiat currencies melting purchasing power each new week you go to the supermarket. Personally I'm entirely into crypto and more specifically bitcoin, with the exception of the money I need for daily expenses, so I believe to have more than 90% in btc and less than 10% in fiat. If it's safe or not only time will tell. Life is full of uncertainties and sometimes you are surprised when you least expected in a negative or positive way. I hope to be surprised positively on this matter, with the permission of God, as soon as this bearish market is over.

I mean, at least from bitcoin you can expect something futurely, while the same can't be said regards fiat.
3536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How I feel about play to earn games on: September 21, 2022, 03:48:39 PM
The game needs to be addicting enough. Am I wrong?
The game has to be addicting enough to compensate the proportion between players who are playing for money against players who are playing for fun. This way, players playing for fun will maintain the economy stable and sustainable. That is what happens in popular mmorpgs where players practice the called RWT/RMT (real world trading or real money trading). Although it's officially forbidden by the games, this practice has proven to work and to be profitable along the years for the people involved on it.
3537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choices: Gamble or Help the poor ? on: September 19, 2022, 05:35:56 PM
I believe there are different alternatives you can think about in order to gamble and at same time help the people in need who come across you. Or maybe you have already helped people recently with your money, so you can't neglect yourself and your personal needs to think exclusively about solving others' problems.

So you can communicate the local government those people are in difficult conditions on the streets and they will have to come after these people, after all public employees are being paid for this and there is a specific budget for that kind of social problem. You can also talk to those people in need and ask why they are living like that, what they need, etc... And advice them on what to do accordingly.
3538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Mobile Gambling Is Leaving People Ruined and Unable to Quit on: September 18, 2022, 02:06:25 AM
As parents can't look after their kids 24/7, what they can do is instill the discipline or teach about money principles.
Teach the importance of money and where to spend it best. As kids will try at one point one of these apps.
But if they knew where the money comes from and how it is being earned, they may think twice.
We can't dictate these young people because you can't be there all the time. They have their own disposition even at a younger age.
It's because of this we need to teach children the value of money, obviously they understand the concept of exchanging money for products and services already, but they need to understand how much effort you need to put forward to earn that money, and if you teach that lesson to your kids at an early age then you'll not have too much to worry about your kids squandering their money, as they'll understand very well how much effort is needed to get back all the money they could potentially lose if they gamble.
It can be done by not giving children everything they want and ask anytime. Normally, kids who don't have any limits are likely to develop problematic behavior when they grow up. Since everything in their lives was so easy to achieve, they don't value things, especially money, because it has become trivialized and easily acquired from their parents without any rules or conditions.
Then these children won't think twice before spending money irresponsibly, as they know there is more from where it has come and can be claimed as soon as they demand. Of course at some point it will become a serious issue and there won't be enough money to cover the children's expenses, so it's better parents pay attention to them and change this reality before it's too late...
3539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy a token if its price never went up and you could never sell it? on: September 18, 2022, 12:38:28 AM
Are you describing fiat before bitcoin was created? Cheesy

Because those were 2 characteristics of fiat for me back then, since I didn't have access to another currencies, so my local fiat currency was the only option I could use, therefore it was impossible to sell it. Moreover, without access to other currencies the price of my native currency was always fixed.

I don't miss those times and for that reason I wouldn't adopt this kind of token. It's too restrictive and goes against the wide freedom we are looking for when dealing with cryptocurrency.
