Seems like vtr dev is his own man, and doesn't need to satisfy anyone but himself ... i like that approach.

A bit like the qora dev in many ways

I dont like that, because he is getting money from investors. He should really put more info to the investors, or not ask for money.

Either work on your own and launch the coin after you are ready, or you keep the investors updated, cant have both ways.
3522  Economy / Economics / Re: Why bitcoin will appreciate forever on: October 27, 2015, 01:14:52 PM

Ruble need a couple of years to loose it majority of his value against dollar but have you checked the BTC price it can go upto 1000+ and can come back to 100 within a couple of months.

The market capitalization of bitcoin is still too small. It is still early stage of bitcoin. When bitcoin reaches the market capitalization of 1000 bn, the value will be very stable.

It will be stable even at 100 billion, or when more people will use it. Right now the big players are manipulating the market, once the distributioni s more even, it will have less volatility.

Not only the part bolded by you Proxiebuier but all the post of Miracal is very significant and give hope. But unfortunately these beauty words serve only to give hope and not to surrender. I tell always such kind of phrases to make myself and who read those (if liked by them) feeling better. But my life show that most of the cases this is even its limit. Are to many other factors which must be fulfilled that someone achieve what he/she want. As for the sky, this is limit only in the movie.  Cheesy

I don't want to play the role of killjoy. I don't want to tell only that if sometimes your dreams are big and you don't achieve those, the fall can be dangerous and can hurt you so much. So better will less emphases and down to earth than fly in the sky and fall from that altitude. Can go very bad in the second case.

Believe me. It was only a my thought this post. Ignore it if make you feel bad.  Wink

Not everyone is meant to be rich, otherwise we would all be rich.

But one thing is for sure, that if bitcoin prevails, it will make the life of all of us better. Not billionaires, but we will have a higher standard of living Cheesy
3524  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: October 27, 2015, 12:19:28 PM
As for me there is no future in paper money, cause you can`t keep $10k in you pocket. But with btc,you won`t have any troubles.

One hundred years ago, you could not keep $100 in your pocket. Today, you can easily keep $1k in your pocket. In 10 years, you can keep $10 in your pocket easily. Bitcoin is futuristic, You can keep numerious bitcoin in your pocket. It beats all the currencies.

You can keep a billion $ worth of bitcoins in your pocket if its encrypted, and nobody knows its there, because they might try to force you to reveal your password.

It's not the pickpocketing thats the big danger but the extortionists robbers.
3525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: October 27, 2015, 11:43:07 AM
I thought volatility is a magnet for traders.

Why arent there more forex traders joining the bitcoin markets? There is more volatility here than in any other currency, and you can make more % gains.

I think more people should trade BTC.

Thats no use to us, it would have been a good conversation but the mods didnt like it.

I just hope you guys will have better chance with the Tenesse project.
3527  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: October 27, 2015, 09:45:37 AM

Honestly, I have no idea. I admire your intellect and your ability to grasp that difficult subject of human destiny, but I was mainly wondering about shorter term events. I am not 20, not even 30, not even 40 ... fucking hell I am not listing the rest ... therefore I was thinking what's going to happen until the year 2032 turning point that Armstrong defined. Around that time the automation, robotics and IoT adoption will make the 50% of currently known jobs obsolete already. The governments will have to deal with that transition and large amount of unemployed workforce. I know, I know, the knowledge economy will create new opportunities in other areas, but still, there will be a radical shift in the society terms of employment opportunities as well as about employability of the workforce (many, lot more than today simply won't be employable at all). The industrial revolution 200 years ago caused quite a lot issues, but this will be a significantly bigger shift.

I`m also not 30 yet, I`ve learned about humanity pretty quickly. It's really not that hard, plus I got a big thirst for exploration and understanding.

I could probably forecast that humanity is not fit for survival in the very long term, it will probably be wiped out in the coming 1000 years, however in the short term it will probably be a chaos too.

The automation is a big problem, and socialism will grow. With that crime and social distorder will too.

I can hardly doubt this economy will last more than 5 years, and when the welfare runs out, and no job possibility will there be, many people will get hurt.

And I don't even think war will come, because the weaponry is too dangerous. I think it will be just the mere civil disorder and famine that will wipe many people out.

I dont want to be a doom forecaster but I think if the economy really gets destroyed, at least 3 billion people will be wiped out.
3528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: October 27, 2015, 09:40:00 AM

Maybe create a separate topic announcing this? This is something altcoin creators want to know. It will take away a lot of work - but they have to know about this first.

Great idea! Done!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1221014.0

We really need to make sure altcoin creators are aware of NXT and it's possibilities!

Please tell me if I put incorrect information about NXT in the thread, i`m not that familiar with it, but I did from my best knowledge.

Well looks like I got censored, the thread is gone. I tried to help NXT  and new altcoin creators, but looks like the mods dont like NXT and censor it very heavily.

Anyway good luck with NXT!
3529  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: October 26, 2015, 06:34:53 PM

I am not sure what make you think that. The history of mankind - as Armstrong points it out frequently - indicates the very opposite of such decentralization. There are attempts from time to time to fix the society, but then we go back to the very same cycle.

The issue with colonizing other planets IMHO is that the resources which need for the colonization controlled by those from whom you want to escape. I assume the colonization of other planets will be the same as the colonization of continents was: implementing the very same system a bit farther.

Then a biological mutation is necessary, to escape the sheeple (although the elite wants to control human evolution too). The odds are really stacked against us.

Maybe humanity has no other destiny but to be wiped out . It was nature's failed experiment, and a more advanced species will come along that will use their instincts less and their brains more.
3530  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in what porfo is good in the period of stagnation on: October 26, 2015, 05:42:09 PM
Hello everyone, I want to know if it is good to invest on what goods while there is stagnation in economy, for example is it good to invest on  real state, Gold, buying stocks...? Suppose stock market has been collapsing for 1 year and real state market prices stop and decreased. What decisions are considered intelligent decisions?

Real estate is really good when they are printing money.

The problem is that I dont know if when the bubble pops, the country will turn into communism and steal your land, or they will just confiscate everything. Hard to tell.

Best investment is always the one that you can control the most. So i`d go into the crypto world mostly.
Real state seems fine to me, bitcoin is better considering that it is risky you may get more income or less income!

Problem with real estate is that in a 3rd or 2nd world country they are cheap, but there is a lot of corruption and mishandling of archives.

I dont want to wake up and have problems with documentation, like I heard many stories that the land archives got lost or corrupted.

In a 1st world country they have better managed land registries, however land or estate is much more expensive there.
3531  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: October 26, 2015, 03:38:45 PM
Hmm, I`m not sure, wasnt the Pareto principle overruled by Nash theory?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nash_equilibrium

I remember this from economics class from college, thats how he won his nobel prize.

This deadlock we experience could be the equilibrium state.

You're talking about the Pareto Optimality which is different to what I mentioned. See here.

FWIW, on the subject you mentioned:
Nash equilibrium is when no player in a game can increase his or her payoff by unilaterally changing their actions. Pareto optimal is when it is not possible to make any player better off in the game without hurting another player at the same time.
For example, in the canonical Prisoner's dilemma formulation, the Nash equilibrium is not Pareto optimal.
A lot of algorithmic game theory works on structuring the rules/payoffs of the game such that the Nash equilibrium is in fact Pareto optimal.

via: https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-Nash-Equilibrium-and-Pareto-Optimality

Edit:
Again, there are successful paradigms for every single theory out there. Yes; even a communist village! One that prospers all the way since 1979! So, why do we have to inculpate a theory over its implementation? I'll tell you why; because it's us that we're malleably putting it to work. It has been this way since the beginning of time.

Fool yourselves not. The liability is us. It was always us.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/20/marinaleda-spanish-communist-village-utopia

Yea it was a long time ago, i need to refresh my economics a bit it got rusty. Nash theory really proves the free market and maximum competitiveness, the perfect Laissez faire free market capitalism.

The fact that it doesnt get implemented efficiently is because of us,yes I agree with that.

I`m sure communism wont ever work on large scale, but even a free market capitalism will have it's struggles, since the game is so distorted that you can really fix it easily.

Humanity is only 1 million year old, we are not fully developed yet, so dont need to worry about this, more efficient times will come in the future, and hopefully the sheeps will become enlightened later on.
3532  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: October 26, 2015, 02:49:38 PM
Well the odds were really against him so it would have never been implemented anyway.

I`m just wondering what is in the greek sheeple's mind right now. I men they were clearly betrayed by their "saviours" for whom they cheered so much.

How much does it take for a sheeple to make the euphoria go away and let reality settle in with the bad facts, as always.

How much time does it take for a sheep to realize he is in the belly of the wolf?

I think that we're way passed that point as a country. As for the "sheep" theory; I hate to repeat it for the gazillionth time but we're living into a world that's being governed by the Pareto principle. Unfortunately, there's a strong possibility that from the 20% of "useful" people / smart minds, there's another 20% (that is a mere 4% of the total - which, in some cases is even smaller) are CAPABLE to understand fully what really happens around them and propose (and then implement) viable solutions instead of whining...

...and believe me, there's a great chance we have never met such a person EVER. Undecided

Marxists are also bloggers, also some bloggers could be marxists as well; (God, looks like a logical test Tongue )

I agree with "the morbid presence" of Yanis, I disagree that he somehow set this up! I believe he's a natural! Tongue

Greeks are far from "nothing". I believe there will be turbulence, but not right now. I think that we will have to wait until the 3rd Memorandum has passed (yeah, the one we voted Tsipras for saying he was NOT gonna sign) and all the best assets of the public will be sold for nothing to vulture funds. What I hate more is, that IF Varoufakis had taken that chance and initiated the BTC as a second currency all we had to do was to wait for Gresham's law to take over...

Sigh.  Undecided

3535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll result: NXT is a proper cryptocurrency on: October 26, 2015, 01:40:12 PM
I havent invested in any of those yet, but there are some good assets there that could be worth alot later on.

Not everything is a scam, so dont be so pessimistic about NXT.

I would be interested to hear of any NxT assets that represent shares in credible and legitimate businesses producing real goods or services with an existing client base.

There is an inescapable dilemma with pitching and investing in crypto-equities/assets. It is almost impossible to create legitimate ones as the legal and liability costs is too high. Purchasing shares in a "company" without the right legal protections is extremely dangerous as there are no safeguards (technological or legal) in place to insure that your shares represent any real ownership in the assets of the company.

Again i`m not the best person to ask that question. Ask the more senior NXT members that have invested already.

But everything comes down basically to trust. In the crypto "wild west" as where we are now, the most important thing is trust and good background. If that is in place then everything is ok.

Real companies dont offer any more protection than crypto ones, its just the illusion created by bureocracy. All it ever matters is trust.
3536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll result: NXT is a proper cryptocurrency on: October 26, 2015, 01:30:09 PM

This doesn't remove the fact that the NxT community is focused on marketing itself as a financial platform to invest in assets and equities instead of focusing on slow and sustained merchant acceptance where actual goods and services are sold and not scams.

Hey i`m not a part of NXT marketing team so I`m not the best person to complain to about NXT's marketing approach.

If you have a problem with NXT's marketing approach then talk to the marketing team lead by:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=199362

I personally think its a good way to highlight the best features of NXT, and yes some people want to invest in those assets, so why not focus on that?

If the investor does his due diligence then he wont be scammed.

Yes, but the approach and pitch isn't to grow merchants but to create a platform to facilitate competing tokens, assets, and equities. You guys are sabotaging yourself to line the pockets of those that are pitching these cryptoequities promising false dreams instead of focusing on slow and sustained growth with real businesses.

I havent invested in any of those yet, but there are some good assets there that could be worth alot later on.

Not everything is a scam, so dont be so pessimistic about NXT.
3537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll result: NXT is a proper cryptocurrency on: October 26, 2015, 12:54:47 PM

IMHO ... NxT setting itself up as a financial platform where people can be scammed with crypto-equities and assets is a foolish plan which only benefits short term grifters. Associating with these questionable assets will leave a longterm stain upon NxT and is a marketing nightmare.
But you are inconsistent, and the same can be applied to the internet. First websites setup could have been scams, and there are still scam websites out there.

You cannot eliminate scams, they will always be there. People just need to fucking learn to do their research before investing. Otherwise they will be scammed every minute of their lives.

It's not my fault that people are gullible idiots, but i dont want my currency to get fucked just because people are gullible idiots, they should man-up and start researching.

The key to NxT's success would be slow, organic growth and merchant and user acceptance by playing to its strengths with insuring that it grows steadily. NxT has a huge advantage over bitcoin with no inflation and extremely minimal security costs with PoS which may not be as secure but possibly might be "good enough". All it takes is the 20 top bagholders to stop dumping their coins and it would be trivial to have slow and sustained growth which would be more attractive than bitcoins volatile bubbles. Even with slow adoption this would be trivial to do because there is no inflation and PoW costs.

NXT's marketplace and community is not that big yet so there is no reason why merchants should adopt it.

Create a magnet in NXT ,with the new innovations, I personally think gambling is the one needed, and people will join.

After the userbase is big, you will have merchants adopting it.

Its a 3 step process you cant just skip them.
3538  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's talk about how hot Asian girls are. [NSFW] on: October 26, 2015, 12:16:51 PM
Sensual

3539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll result: NXT is a proper cryptocurrency on: October 26, 2015, 12:11:02 PM

Being that almost no merchant accepts NXT and those that do indirectly quickly dump them for BTC and Fiat the coins eventually are getting sold for other currencies ... even the forging interest.

Yet. So how many merchants accept Bitshares, ETH or Ripple?

Quote
So either NxT has practically no new adoption and early investors are slowly dumping or NxT has steady adoption and the early investors are dumping heavily. There is no escaping this fact.

To be factual I use coingecko

https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/nxt

It is still holding, I agree that there has been a slow in adoption lately, but that will change with the new Tenessee project, so just be patient and see, NXT will come back big!
3540  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockchain download speed singularity on: October 26, 2015, 12:01:31 PM
My friend told me there is a way you can torrent the blockchain... I've also heard that torrenting is much faster...

But with the blockchain ever-changing, how can you torrent?

Doesnt matter if you torrent, it will eventually become the same problem, unless bandwidth will grow exponentially too, which it wont.

You can torrent the blockchain, and then the remaining blocks you download normally.
