Dont want to sound like Phinn, but the power plugs dont seem to be connected, or if they are, at random angles.

Funny you mention this. I just emailed an encrypted copy of my wallet.dat to my family members. I encrypted it with a truecrypt container protected by an enormous password thats composed of a lot of things only my family members would all know, or be able to find out, like old phone numbers, old car license plates, my "social security number", bank account number and other stuff. I wrote the explanation how to create the password in a text document I attached with the mail. So should something happen to me, they should be able puzzle together the password of the truecrypt container, which contains the wallet.dat plus a text file with the bitcoin wallet password.
Im sure there are better ways to go about, but this was good enough for me. Its possible for them to recover my coins, and damn near impossible for a random hacker.

New Pic: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fbitasic.com%2Fimages%2F3.jpg&t=663&c=5CMBvGvSe1GVkg) That is a weird placement of the cooling fins... some have a fan direct over them, some are in their own hot air pocket. Nah, looks fine to me. You dont need airflow over every part of the heatsink, the idea of a heatsink is that its good at transferring heat. 6 of those 120mm ? fans should be enough to get rid of 800W. edit: Well, Im not sure if the two outer heatsinks get a lot of airflow or if they are connected to the "inside" heatsinks on the same bank. Still, more worried about this being real. If it is, I wouldnt mind modding it.

Hmmm.. if that is a fake, its certainly a commendable one. If nothing else, they got the airflow and cooling right. If its real, they are nuts selling it so cheap, it makes its investment back in what, 4 days? Its a long drive from here, but if this turns out to be real, Im going.

This sounds like a thread I saw before that talked about mining on a sound card. It's possible but you needed: a.Special driver b.A H/W based Sound card (most sound cards these days are S/W based as in they have no Audio processing hardware of their own like some creative sound cards did several years ago-before they were phased out.You won't get more than a few MHash/s out of them but it seemed fun to try for those with the right sound cards.
You still have the link? Its an interesting (if pointless) idea, but AFAIK, soundcards will have basically have a programmable DSP onboard. DSP is mainly about floating point. I doubt it could be used for mining and you might have more luck using a HDD controller or one of those highend network cards. Of course, even if any of these could be used for mining, performance will completely pale in comparison to something really, really fast, like, .. our cell phones ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) .

Selling: - Sapphire 5850 (looks like this one: https://www1.sapphiretech.com/us/gallery/img/559/11162-00-20_HD5850_1GBGDDR5_PCIE_C01.JPG ) - MSI 5850 TwinFrozr II dual fan, super silent card.- 5850 Reference card (I think by powercolor, not 100% sure)- 5870 Reference (XFX, fan replacement underway, see below brand new fan installed) PCI-E 16x cables can be thrown in as well. MSI and Powercolor 5850s clock ~900 Mhz stock voltage, sapphire does ~875 . The 5870 does ~950 Mhz stock voltage Never overvolted, never ran above 70C. The 5870 is waiting for a replacement fan which is on its way from Hong Kong. I ordered it 2 weeks ago, it could get here any moment, or it could be a few more weeks before it gets here. You can bid for it without fan, or with brand new fan if you are willing to wait.New fan installed. Shipping across EU at your expense. I will look up rates when I receive acceptable offers. Accepting BTC only, willing to do escrow. Lets hear your bids

If this doesnt get resolved fast, I offer my signature space for a coinabul warning with link to this thread. If enough people posting in this thread do the same, it might even help.

There seems to be a very strong demand for these - one user was recently offering 2 BTC each. Do people see these as becoming collectors items? If one BTC could be worth $1000 on day, what could one of these be worth? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) $1045?

BFL is staffed by incompetent bozos and convicted felons, that much is true, but ASICMiner and Avalon have indeed created ASIC mining hardware. The evidence is all over the forums and all over the pools.
It doesnt even make sense to suspect BFL is running a scam. If they were, they would have closed shop by now and ran off with the money. The bulk of their sales already happened a long time ago, so if it were a scam, they pulled it off already. Why keep paying for offices and personnel and storage rooms full of custom cases etc ?

You realize that bitcoin is not only no solution for this, but would greatly exacerbate the problem, right? Who is going to loan him the bitcoins needed to buy a van, when the same amount of bitcoin might buy a parking lot full of vans a few years later ?

whats the dollar value got to do with anything ?
It's just an arbitrary choice as a reasonably-stable measure of value. You could use any stable currency. No you couldnt. Legally coinabul can only be forced to settle in dollars (as they are US based), thats why its fiat money. IANAL but Coinabul probably has the choice to either deliver the quantity of silver ordered at the time, or reimburse the original order value in dollars. But I dont see how they could be held liable for fluctuations in either silver or BTC prices.

shiftybugger, it doesnt seem like coinabul is going to fold without legal action. Im also convinced the law is on your side. There was a US based lawyer offering his services on this forum not so long ago, I suggest you get in touch with him. It may not have to come to court, just a letter from a lawyer might be enough for coinabul to talk to their legal counsel and realize they will have to reimburse you one way or the other.

Still says not up here? This really means they are not taking CC anymore, which adds to the doubt here.
What doubt? I dont have any.

Its worth pointing out Chavez got reelected time after time, in elections which western observers not only deemed free and fair, they went as far as calling the electoral process a model for democracy: http://truth-out.org/news/item/12074-independent-observers-venezuelas-election-a-model-of-democracyProbably not what you heard on US mainstream media, whom i am sure are now announcing the death of a tyrant. As for Chavez being murdered by the US; I wouldnt rule it out, although it would have to have been a subtle approach since i am sure they looked very hard for evidence in Cuba.

Not really as authoritative as a supreme court ruling, but googling I did find this: If fedex denies an insurance claim for damaged goods I shipped via their service, am I liable as a seller to replace or repair that item at my own cost? buyer is threatening to sue me, but I did all possible to ensure item was protected and insured for transit. What is my responsibility?
I am sorry to learn of your circumstances. Unfortunately, yes, you are liable to repair or replace the damaged items. The buyer can sue you. It would be up to you, then, to absorb the loss and/or you can sue FedEx for their claim denial and seek reimbursement for your loss. It has been my pleasure to assist you today with your information needs. If you have a follow-up question, please reply and ask it.

I also suspect the BFL package is 15x15, not the die. 15x15 would be quite large and the die seems rectangular. 15mm is a standard package size though.

They are just buying time, allowing more people to fall for it and get scammed. I will eat my socks if this is legit.
