3521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BW.com - serious warning!! on: October 18, 2019, 03:43:44 AM

The general logic is that the more volume an exchange generates, the more people are trading there. That used to be the case with high volume exchanges, but in the last year or so high volume is a worthless metric.

Seriously yeah, since last year I heard some exchange sites tampering the volume just to rank up in coinmarketcap and when you look upon the site there is nothing specific volume. And by far, this reason had made less reliable for coinmarketcap. To be honest, I'm just using it now for checking the coin ranking.
3522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and kiddie porn on: October 17, 2019, 12:39:39 PM
You give people privacy, they use it.

Probably they ABUSE it.
And this by far is sick and gross of pedophiles. I might assume that the site is the one who advise to use bitcoin as mode of payment to those who want to hide their identity.

On the best side, the criminals are now behind bars, however some surely will wait the news to be over and business as usual again.
3523  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: here's a place to trade your cryptocurrency for any merchandise on: October 17, 2019, 11:11:55 AM
Hi guys, we are building an automated market for exchange goods and services with crypto.
Please check our website if you're interested: www.ethconomy.io  Wink

Just visited your site and I thought that you have already some goods and services posted on your site. And I sense that you're most likely to have a token or do crowdsale?

However, would it be better to advertise it when it's fully functional? I mean people will definitely have a not-so-good impression about your site. It's kinda plain and even don't have Menu.
3524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Swirge.com | A Decentralized Facebook | Earn Rewards for each Post! on: October 17, 2019, 10:36:12 AM
Hello there, EmCoin.

I think you posted on wrong board.
Please move your Ann thread in the Announcement Section. Just click the move button found at the lower left side of the page.

Move it here. Announcement ( Altcoins )
3525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's stand against Bounty Scammer. on: October 17, 2019, 07:42:24 AM
At this day, why would you engage in bounty hunting in the first place? You risk getting scammed, the project might flop and your earned tokens will be worthless, it might never be listed on exchanges, and even if everything works out, your reward earned during weeks of posting and clicking can end up being just a few dollars. It's not 2017 anymore, when you can earn hundreds of dollars for some retweets, people should move on already.

Apparently, they're taking their chances to earn even they know they the risk beyond it. However, few times are enough not to continue wasting time and better yet move on.

Perhaps, even ICOs regain their spot, people won't buy it anymore because of the risk and definitely just a waste of time and money.

I guess everyone here should boycott the bounty campaigns, let's see if they can still raise the money they needed.
3526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pricing everyday items in SATs on: October 17, 2019, 06:32:56 AM
FYI 10 thousand satoshi is simply 0.00010000 or 0.0001 BTC. Is that 0.1 mBTC? I don't even know, i also refuse to use that.

Haha 0.1 mBTC is actually confusing.

Tbh, I prefer to read 0.0001 mbtc than 10k satoshis, I don't know but reading it on decimals is much easier. Or maybe if this value had become our norm of daily spending then we get be all used to it.

I would love a physical representation of Bitcoin and I'm sure over the years, i've seen the coins that have a QR code basically stamped on them.

Nah, obviously people don't want anymore to carry some coins and will prefer to have the QR code to be scan on machine and on their phone as well.
3527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One Satoshi, From Which National Money Are More Valuable? on: October 17, 2019, 05:28:30 AM
Perhaps time will come that one satoshi will have an interesting value while fiat already eaten by deflation.
Nothing to compare for now since both are not that worthy but one thing we can assure is that only bitcoin will have a decent value afterwards.
3528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Problem with Watch-only wallet and bitcoin address on: October 16, 2019, 04:21:14 PM
ps. try using TestNet for testing these things. that way it won't cost you anything and you also don't spam bitcoin network. Electrum wallet supports TestNet.

OP wanna try things even out if his control. Even though that cost him, it seems he got the answer he's looking for.
Though now I wonder what's with the 228th address and why he picked that? Hahaha!

One thing I realized here, everything in crypto is such a genius.
3529  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins is intentionally trying to lowkey steal from its customers (me) on: October 16, 2019, 02:08:30 PM
I am sure though that people behind LocalBitcoins are not allowing the goodwill and reputation they worked for years to go to waste.

But they seem reluctant and quiet about the issue. If they really care about their reputation and considering this isn't the first time, they should have at least a control team that handles this kind of issue. Honestly, implementing KYC is becoming the escape goat of fraudster.

Though not really fan of LB, and just use to buy some satoshis before, hence not used on storing my coins in any exchange site.
3530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright as "Bitcoin creator" at a conference in London!!! WTF??? on: October 16, 2019, 12:12:22 PM
This conference is indeed a circus and I don't know why people are still buying it. As they say, bad publicity is still publicity as so Craig Wright.

While Craig Wright was in fact the author of the whitepaper and all of Satoshi's posts on bitcointalk.org, I feel he should give more credit to his partner in crime Dave Keilman who died a horrible death before BTC's rise to popularity.

I'm sorry? I think I didn't get you right.
3531  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [GUIDE] Bitcoin - A Guide For Beginners (FREE eBook) on: October 16, 2019, 09:52:22 AM
snip

I just downloaded your ebook and even had quite  read a couple of chapters. Can confirm them had been written in the simplest words   sutable for the wide audience. However, on behalf of my 7-years-old boy, I would like to find book  for children of the primary school age clearly explaining what is bitcoin. I'm tracking all relevant books, but no luck so far.

Is your little boy also fond of bitcoin? Seems at early age he understood what bitcoin is. Guess, an infographic or animated books can help him to cope more, you know kids easily engage to those and not on boring text books.
Though not sure if there's really such infographic books.  Roll Eyes
3532  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Aegis Authenticator, a decent alternative to Google Authenticator and Authy on: October 16, 2019, 12:13:09 AM
I have been using Authenci for a long time, since I entered this market! However, it has many inconveniences that make me uncomfortable. This article is really helpful to me. How can I transfer my data to this aegis platform?

Read this.
If you do a backup though, the exported .json file is not encrypted.
I downloaded the app on my old phone to have a play around with, and when I tried to export my database I was met with a pop-up containing a check box for "Keep the database encrypted". I assume you have to have first encrypted the database with a password before being offered this, so perhaps if you haven't added a password then your back ups will be in plain text.

While I think that's a downside of it.
3533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Aegis Authenticator, a decent alternative to Google Authenticator and Authy on: October 15, 2019, 07:48:44 AM
Thanks for the heads up, I was actually looking for alternative.

Just downloaded it and easily imported all my files. Btw, the fingerprint unlock feature is cool!
3534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for your feedback! on: October 15, 2019, 06:04:09 AM
Website is so plain and boring. Not an expert but as a trader I wouldn't trade for such kind of website.

Without ICO I wish to see a a great product of yours soon. Please send your website link to check and share the feedback about it.

I assume those guys have enough funds for the project to run, at least a year.
3535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Double Airdropping of EOST and GPAY on IXX.com on: October 15, 2019, 02:44:22 AM
New exchanges fold so quick and this one claims to be the "world's first trading community" and ive never heard of it
im not touching that exchange haha

Sounds like you've been pissed off with the idea and piling up shitty projects.
You're not alone haha well not unless they really have a powerhouse team and backed by known companies.
Tbh, I'll just go all in with Bitcoin than to waste it with these projects.

Thus, a KYC for a worthless airdrop is a big NO. Don't be fooled.
3536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I access my BTC and other wallets on Public Internet Cafe on: October 15, 2019, 02:01:44 AM
...

I have not checked all responses above, but with someone with their OWN computer could use Wifi (in hotels, coffee shops, etc.) by using TOR (free) and/or VPN (not expensive) and be pretty secure, especially with a hardware wallet.

The above is not "Rocket Science", if I can learn to do the above, almost anyone else can.

I wonder if OP had already use those? I mean that's the first thing we should use and why using public internet cafes seems the last resort for him? Don't he have phone?

Don't take the chances, maybe now your wallet is safe but the moment hackers track it, it's the end of the story. Hackers are clever and persistent tho.
3537  Economy / Economics / Re: BEEN IN THIS GAME FOR 6 YEARS on: October 15, 2019, 01:16:45 AM
Had I known that Bitcoin will eventually reach the level that it is now, maybe I could have bought more Bitcoin but that is already in the past.

I keep seeing people say that, but most of them don't understand that even when they bought at what we consider very low levels today, they would have sold their coins 10-20-30% higher to secure profits. The Bitcoiners who held their coins to where we are today did so not to profit, but because they are convinced of Bitcoin's properties as decentralized money.

In the end, hindsight talk is cheap talk, what matters is that you know what the value of Bitcoin is today and that you should hold your coins firmly, otherwise you'll end up asking yourself 'maybe if should have bought more Bitcoin' once again. Bitcoin won't be a sub $10,000 coin for ever. Utilize this opportunity to hoard more.
Yes. A lot of people are complaining for not buying more bitcoin but even though there is already an opportunity in front of them, they still didn't take an action. If you are really into bitcoin investing then it would be easy as pie for you to buy bitcoin regularly and hold them despite of the price fall and you will not be tempted to sell at a small profit margin.

Actually that's the irony for normal people, if bitcoin price is on top, they're all eager to buy even at the peak but when price is dump, people don't bother to buy instead they're planning to sell. Those people don't know and understand the accumulation stage for bitcoin and to seize the opportunity.

If they just got to realize the chances they are wasting, they surely go crazy now.
3538  Economy / Economics / Re: Public address complexity and economy of a coin on: October 14, 2019, 03:02:34 PM
Ok, do you think the complexity of public address affects the economy of a coin or a chain? For example, if bitcoin had an easy to remember the address, would it be adopted more readily? The same question is valid for ETH, of course.

Complexity of the address isn't the hindrance for adoption as in the first place we don't need to memorize the entire address just to make sure our funds were safe. And the more it gets complicated the more people feel safe and same goes with our password.

Or simply use QR Code. No need to deal directly with complex addresses.

That's the best way we could have done.
3539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whale transfers 1000 BTC from Bitstamp exchange to External wallet on: October 14, 2019, 10:45:02 AM
Whale Alert@whale_alert

1,000 #BTC (8,380,470 USD) transferred from #Bitstamp to unknown wallet

Tx: https://whale-alert.io/transaction/bitcoin/1397f8e570ec545ea558cf21e8007936bea4ea895a65def750df4ed2ffecf866/1

Okay this make sense now.
So roughly, 1,289 bitcoin is in the wallet which is totally crazy. Though, it's too early for now to speculate about sudden pump.

Or could this be just hyping?
3540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Stress and Happiness on: October 14, 2019, 10:25:14 AM
First of, decide whether you want to hold it short or long term. Tbh, holding it long term could give you less stress as you wouldn't bother about the volatility thus you're confident that ten years ( or more ) from now bitcoin price cannot be afford of an ordinary people.

Do remind ourselves that we're lucky for knowing bitcoin this early.

Just buy and forget everything.

But don't forget your private keys, lol!
