3521  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin a good investment in this pendamic situation? on: June 30, 2021, 08:10:30 AM
If your money was just sitting around in your bank then why not. But if you have something better to spend it on, or you're generally just unable to spend money right now due to the current situation, then it's better for you not to actually spend money on investing. I mean, that is the purpose of investment, after all, to grow more money while not being used. It's still a different issue, however, to actually know when to invest, when to set up stop-loss, what strategies to use, etc. There's also the issue of what your plan actually is for the future, whether you need money in the short term or long term, the answers there really, you just have to arrange the reasons why you should take it.
3522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's game plan on: June 30, 2021, 07:02:13 AM
How does a Bitcoin exit benefit China in the long term? What do you guys think is China's game plan?
Well, they're thinking of it with their own mindset after all, while we're judging them with our own mindset as well. We all know how China is an advocate of pretty much wanting to be in control of literally everything in their country. That made them make the decision of making their own centralized crypto (since they acknowledge the usefulness of blockahin) and stop most actions that are connected to Bitcoin or crypto in general. Or that could just be a ruse, and China actually plays around the price of the market with these announcements intentionally to pump and dump it. Well, I'm more into the former compared to the latter though.
3523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never sell your Bitcoin? on: June 30, 2021, 06:27:31 AM
We hold Bitcoin for a variety of reasons but there would always come a time where you would inevitably sell it tbh, since it's pretty much the use of it. It's a currency, not some type of rare item or whatnot that can act as an heirloom for your family. Sure, hold it long enough maybe so that you can get your investment and probably more back, but holding it forever? Nah. HODLers are in the end, still a type of investor and would still pretty much sell it back to gain profit. Even if it wasn't for investment, again, it is a currency, it's meant to be spent.
3524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Million dollar win on $15 parlay whoa on: June 30, 2021, 05:41:39 AM
Holy f, that's quite the insane win right there. it's pretty amazing that the condition actually managed to go through, especially since it had that insane odds due to how difficult the feat was. This was literally a lottery imo, a one out of how many odds chances of winning. Not really something I'd suggest for gamblers to actually do since it's a really hard feat to pull it off, not to mention that you aren't necessarily the one pulling it off but rather the player. Still, very big well played from me!
3525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi’s Bitcoin whitepaper to be removed from Bitcoin.org? on: June 29, 2021, 01:33:00 PM
If he wins this case, he is legally recognized as Satoshi Nakamoto, the inventor of Bitcoin.

I'm still confused... if court has accepted that he's "Satoshi Nakamoto" or only his claim over whitepaper. What does this claim really mean?
The court didn't accept the claim that he was Satoshi afaik. Cobra didn't defend himself so CSW won the court case by default since Cobra didn't want to reveal his identity from what I understood. Now what's confusing is did the court accept the side of CSW about his claim being Satoshi and writing the white paper, or did the court just, well, defaulted and didn't really bother identifying whether his sides' claims were true or not. Though it seems to be saying that CSW owns the paper just based on the decision they made since I don't think a punishment would've been handed out if the court didn't agree with CSW (Correct me if I'm wrong, idk much about court cases)
3526  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and middle class as a mentality on: June 29, 2021, 12:04:37 PM
That's just how reality is. Inequality was set even before you were given the ability to think, and you can only lament on it once you've realized your own situation was different from the situation of others. Realizing that and accepting it early on could help you develop and move forward, but it's not like it's a sin to actually not accept it or complain about it. If you were poor, then just earn money, now if it was only that easy right? It's like those words skipped steps 2-99 and just went from step 1 to step 100 in terms of guiding people.
Sometimes i feel certain people who have suffered alot of poverty are always scared of being poor or are too obsessed with class thing (poor, rich, middle class etc)
And we can't exactly blame them. Their situation just pretty much forces them to face how their current class affects their current life.
3527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It takes years to build a reputation and seconds to break it on: June 29, 2021, 08:16:42 AM
They wont really be risking out their reputation that they had built up for years on just trying to scam out their users for one time go on stealing funds which I don't see for it to be worth on doing that or simply pointless.

Successful business would bring out fortune for more years to come as long they do know how to retain or maintain a good business in the market.

Those kind of destroying others business via those fake reviews and accusation is something that wont really be that effective.People aren't blind on
not to see on whats the truth.
Again, it wouldn't really matter if they risked their reputation if, in the first place, the casino's goal was to scam people. Yes, the long term profit would give them more compared to short term, but if they were to repeat this say one-two times, the profit they gained would be much more even if they did the casino in the long term. They can then build a better business model that would provide them much more profit even if they were to run it in the long term, whether it be an illegal one or a legal one, granted that a legal one would take much effort to build so that they aren't caught or revealed.
3528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mechanism for Retrieving lost BTC on: June 29, 2021, 05:54:38 AM
It's not possible, nor I think would it ever actually be made possible in the future. It just defeats the purpose of us having a bank that we have full control of if there was a safety feature that would allow outsiders to access it. Besides, it being inaccessible can also be called a feature, since again, it just proves that it can't be accessed by outsiders or 3rd parties. It wouldn't really hinder its growth imo, Bitcoin can be converted into smaller amounts and doesn't really seem to have a limit to it. THe market would naturally adjust to it sooner or later if said coins were lost forever so I don't really think it's an issue.
3529  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this a gang up against cryptocurrency? Or ways to regulation? on: June 28, 2021, 04:14:45 PM
It's nothing new tbh. Most of the countries' governments have always been hostile towards cryptocurrency since they had absolutely no idea on how to completely get it under control. The most they could do was to prevent their citizens from accessing exchanges and whatnot, but that can be bypassed quite easily since crypto is something that can be accessed with the internet. As long as one really wants to, one can easily bypass most restrictions that the government has set. Regulate they might try but honestly, it's just them about to give up on actually doing something.

Bitcoin (or crypto in general) just isn't something that can stay under control or bound by rules or laws since it already has inherent rules that its system follows. It runs perfectly fine and almost cannot be abused (if not totally) with the rules it has on its own.
3530  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to deal with bear markets on: June 28, 2021, 01:04:53 PM
Use the bear market as an intro to entering the market. Or just use it as a way to accumulate more. DCA works if you're not familiar with trading or don't really have the time to actually bother with it, but if you are a trader, then might as well use the situation and turn it into an opportunity to make a profit. Most profit makers come from people taking advantage of times where the market is down after all, instead of when it's up. Buying at the peak is probably the baddest move one can make if he's making for a short-term profit.
3531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terms and condition a must read before signing up any online gambling site on: June 28, 2021, 08:24:27 AM
Some of them also likes surprises, you'll never know their KYC unless you have a big amount of profits in your account and they will suddenly requires it just for you, like they will require a lot of personal informations for you to pass their KYC but in the end, they still won't let you withdraw it, which is infuriating.

It will be a big issue if suddenly they want to change their terms just so you cannot withdraw your earnings because it is a big amount, this is a big warning sign, and worthy to create an accusation thread in the scam section, that is why you should only play with big online casinos if you are going to deposit a huge amount because the big and highly reputable gambling site will let you withdraw and will not play dirty by immediately changing their rules, always get updated on any changes on their rules so you can change shift in your playing whether you want to continue playing or go for other casinos.
at that point isn't that just plainly a scam? Doing the required procedures and then denying you of withdrawing even with it done seems to be wrong in their side, and they wouldn't really do it if they were a legitimate site. Besides, TOS changes should be given at least a week before it is implemented, rather common-sense imo. If it wasn't done like that, then leave the casino immediately honestly, it's just a waste of time. Even if they were to immediately implement the TOS in a single day, maintenance of an hr should be given and a notice of updates should be received by the users the moment they log back in.

The advent of online casinos (or any online business for that matter) has been in existence for way too long that missing these kinds of simple stuff is enough to be a red flag for that casino.
3532  Other / Archival / Re: Why is it a waste of time and money to buy ready-made trading strategies? on: June 28, 2021, 05:15:40 AM
Well tbf, trading strategies that are mostly spread out as "free" or whatnot are actually just the same usual stuff most traders use, the difference is just like you said, the way they use it. The comparison OPgave out about cards and martial arts was actually quite apt. Successful traders also use whatever strategies the internet has, heck most traders who did a bit of research would also probably know about it tbh.

Add on to that, paid strategies are in the end, just static strategies and would still require users to actually study and learn, so why bother buying if you were going to research in the first place right? Buying it in the first place was for the sake of making easy money without doing anything, but we all know that that's not how trading really works.
3533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terms and condition a must read before signing up any online gambling site on: June 27, 2021, 02:49:17 PM
Well most rages and disagreements just stem from being the user playing on a scam site itself, or them not reading the TOS. Most of the scenarios constitute of the two, one being the user at fault, the other being the casino at fault (tho tbh, it's rather obvious at times what a scam casino is so in that case, it's the user at fault). The chances of users complaining due to a site being unfair due to a situation or whatnot is actually quite rare, and finding fault between the two can be rather hard depending on the situation.
You are right.
I personally think it should be illegal to write such a long text ! They know no one has time to sit down and read pages. It can very well be made short! They use this trick to get people just sign up without any idea what they are getting into.
Or
They can also put few points differently for example:- USE OF VPN IS NOT ENTERTAINED, this way people can for sure see what they are getting into and see if it suits them. They should additionally tell the people about the fee, withdrawal fee and terms and conditions in a short and precise manner.
Plus why can't everyone do this ? Every site in this world ?
Facts tbh. The damn wall of text isn't just long, it also sometimes uses complicated English that one wouldn't normally use unless one actually read a lot of official/scientific documents and whatnot. It's not even the lingo, it's just the usage of the words itself. Add on to that how other players aren't really native English speakers, well, that just makes it hard for both sides.
3534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China might really be out of Bitcoin and the cryptospace on: June 27, 2021, 08:44:04 AM
Not surprising. It is China being China, I highly doubt that even if it could improve their lifestyles by a ton, they still wouldn't allow it if the cost was allowing their citizens to access freedom. Not to mention that they'd even probably try to implement said improvement to their system in a way that it would be allowed, still allowing them to retain control, just like with their venture towards creating their own cryptocurrency. Well, they are still pro on developing blockchain, just that they have averse hate towards Bitcoin which symbolizes freedom across borders.
3535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recognizing Gambling Disorders, Symptoms of Severe Gambling Addiction on: June 27, 2021, 07:27:25 AM
Risking it though seems like martyrdom in my opinion because you don't really have any bonds with them besides being a friend, I agree that you should risk it but there will come a time that you should set a boundary that you won't be doing this thing. Also the symptoms that you should worry about when someone is addicted is when they are harming others or themselves.
A lot better than a friend asking for money from you and when you don't, argues that you aren't a true friend and some random bs. Also, a boundary that you wouldn't risk it? What? isn't that just an empty relationship? Might as well just break it off if I do say so for myself. It's pretty stupid to let a friendship remain if it was just taken into face value. And man, you would wait for people to hurt themselves and others before trying to fix a desperate gambler? Now that's just wrong ngl.

Still, the end of the day it depends on the capabilities of the player or the gambler because in some instance some gambler knows the risk management they are dealing with the game they set a limitation if they think they already enough with the designated amount of profit or losses they have. Some player still continuously playing because they want to pay back their losses or even meet their quota and still losing the game this is a common mistake of them the reason why they always get more losses.
The former is simply a player, the latter is a gambler. Players aren't a problem, gamblers are.
3536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A word of warning before playing on BitStarz casino on: June 27, 2021, 05:18:20 AM
Rather odd how the methods they asked for your KYC didn't send red signals already. I mean, an ID is already more than enough, and really, unless it's faked, they wouldn't ask for another method to prove your identity. Not to mention that even if it was faked, they'd just use the same method, but ask for a different ID to prove. I must say, you gave out way too much info than you're supposed to tbh. Well seemed like it was a rather old scam site, so hope OP actually looks for info about the sites you're playing at beforehand.

4. Was asked to walk to a street sign and take a photo of me next to it.

 Shocked Shocked

What if these scammers come to your house and commit barbaric crimes against you and your relatives? What if they sell your address to criminals?

I confess that I had never seen this requirement to do KYC
This tbh. An obvious red flag. Yes, your ID contains your address, but seeing irl proof makes it a LOT easier tbh.
3537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling Licenses - What they actually mean on: June 27, 2021, 04:37:40 AM
Do you think someone needs to offer a legit crypto gambling license to give consumers more protection? Or are we ok where we are know?
Well it definitely says something about how they want to start up the business. Even if licenses are actually just complete bs, the act of spending for it vs the act of not spending for it gives volumes on whether a casino actually wants to run properly or not, though in the end, that's just one step. It takes time really, for casinos to actually build up a reputation and for users to actually trust it. Licenses are in the end, just a method for casinos to show their sincerity maybe? And to avoid all the bothersome rules that countries have set up, basically following a framework (which is most probably imaginative) to have some sort of foundation with their reputation.

3538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It takes years to build a reputation and seconds to break it on: June 25, 2021, 02:02:37 PM
Cause quick profit is an easy temptation, plus, if they never really planned to actually run it properly, why would they not break it? As for casinos protecting themselves, it's rather easy tbh. Explain everything that happened. The forum isn't full of idiots, they would analyze and see who was really at fault and whether the one at fault was willing to admit it and to change. There are already various examples here tbh, one being a case where the user used an exploit to win money and used that money to win a big amount. The former was an exploit, while the latter was due to luck. There was an entire thread explaining a bunch of stuff and reasoning for that one (can't really remember the casino involved), but it was rather easy to see how reputable casinos actually take the time to explain stuff.
3539  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daytrading vs Holding on: June 24, 2021, 12:34:06 PM
Ok so if were going to talk about obtaining the maximum amount of profit one could get in the shortest amount of time (even in a long time tbh), it's a no-brainer that day trading is the answer. But, as mk4 said, it's a matter of whether you even can or not. It's close to impossible to get the maximum amount of profit, and heck even 50% of the max amount of profit is close to a dream. It's just that hard to day trade. So the next option you'd actually consider is how much time you're going to spend on it, and if profit isn't a question, then it's holding. With holding, you don't peek at the charts 24/7, you just cash out after a few years when you think you've made profit.
3540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big companies finally had enough of the excessive tax on: June 24, 2021, 11:14:04 AM
It is somewhat pointless if they would be keeping on making out warnings but at least they are really showing off some concern but actually they dont really care at all. Those were just complimentary or some form of formality just to make themselves that they do really care but actually theyre not.

If government is really been that in concern into their citizens health then they wont really be allowing thing in the first place.

This just really proves out that tax and income would really be their main priority rather than into other health problems or concerns.
Concern? It's pretty empty then imo. It's like they put those warnings in cigarette packs and make boring ads and whatnot about negative effects of whatever(cigs, drugs, gambling, etc.) just for the sake of it. Let's be real, even they themselves know that what they are doing is a fruitless endeavor. They only do it just to keep up the appearance that they actually care. If they really did, honestly? They would've done a loot more stuff that could help when they remove said negative stuff. (except for gambling, like fr, that's just your own decision-making and not really negative, unlike cigs).
