3541  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: May 27, 2013, 06:25:57 PM
Personally, it looks to me that they are close to shipping and all the other ASIC stuff out there is lower performance, even less existent, or extremely more expensive.

They have been close to shipping for the last 5 months. ASICMiner or Avalon products are not less existent. They are expensive because they are available today, not cheap at the promise of having it at some unknown future date.
3542  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: May 27, 2013, 06:20:30 PM
Everyone could and should have easily known that they were making a purchase at the research and development stage before ordering.

Wrong. It was never, EVER, sold or represented as a Research and Development product.
3543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is an Asic from butterfly labs worth buying? on: May 27, 2013, 04:21:13 PM
It is not an easy question to answer.

They have not demonstrated an ability to reliably ship their products in a timely manner, and there have been reports of customer service issues.
3544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I run my $12,000 Mac Pro Xeon as a rig? Worth it? on: May 27, 2013, 03:44:39 PM
No. Not worth it.
3545  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Forced "On Hold For Refund" for all my Single SC orders on: May 27, 2013, 03:33:26 PM
If anyones curious, BFL also canceled my order after sending a demand letter asking for answers. Frankly if a company is only willing to respond to people who complain by canceling their orders after holding their money for a year then they can't be considered to honest or reputable. I'm glad they gave me a refund and I hope they continue to fail. I urge anyone with a recent or not so recent order to get a refund. Their actions are unconscionable and anyone placing an order today won't see anything for a VERY long time.

Can you provide proof ? That's incredible !

Check these out.

The ASICMiner team just made their USB sticks available in blocks of 50.

3548  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 27, 2013, 06:36:22 AM
On a related note, I looked back on the thread but wasn't able to see that anyone was able to find a hub that was able to power more than 5 of these things.

Did I miss something ? Does such a beast exist ? I'm starting to search on Amazon.com for something to manage all these guys, and not coming up with anything other than the 12 port hub (http://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Power-Adapter-Control-Switches/dp/B0051PGX2I) that can power 5 of these things Sad

Would something like this work ?

http://www.mondohub.com/hub_overview.php

-(1) 5 V DC port - Power Adapter: Output: 5 V / 4 A
-Up to 500 mA power, all ports

EDIT: Disregard, that 12 port Satechi is a pile of pewp.
Ordered two of the 28 port mondohubs. Will report back with details. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BV14ZUI)

I can't thank you enough for this response of yours. Absolutely everything I need.
You're quite welcome, good luck!  Please be sure to report back how long the belly laughs go on when you finish your story in front of actual legal council.  Perhaps they'll at least have the courtesy to wait until you're out of the building before busting a gut, though.

Also, if you don't mind, could you update the OP with the current tally of how much money you've spent on your little tantrum against BFL.  By my count it's at least $1700 so far.

$1,700 is me just getting started, Josh.
3551  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: May 27, 2013, 12:21:25 AM
Josh, what lies and misinformation ?

I want to make sure I am being completely accurate with my council before we formally contact you.

I can't thank you enough for this response of yours. Absolutely everything I need.

MooC, why don't you dig back in time and look at my first reply to you and look at what it was in response to.  Yes, you were an asshole and I responded in kind.

Yes, Xian, you too were and asshole and I responded in kind.

I never start out being an asshole.  If you are rational and polite, I will respond in a rational and polite manner.  If you are a spittle flinging cretin, you get a rude response.  If you get a rude response, you need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask yourself why someone responded to you in that manner.

What about all the people that voice their opinions about how late your promises are like Xian01 that was cancelled on. You obviously found him an asshole and freed him from your responsibility to deliver his product.

There are plenty of examples of people voicing there opinions and being negative about BFL, both here and on the BFL forums.  For some reason, they are able to act like adults and converse in a civilized manner.  Xian, on the other hand, decided to go full tantrum mode and pitch a fit.  I ignored it for many weeks, giving him many chances to settle down and he chose to just amp up the lies and misinformation.  It was time to cut him loose.  People like him cost more to maintain than they are worth as customers, thus we cut ties with him. Now he's free to fling spittle and foam all he wants without the encumbrance of being a hypocrite.

3552  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: May 26, 2013, 11:08:13 PM
Only to people who are assholes to me first.  I respond in kind, if you haven't noticed.

Another lie ! Holy shit !

You were an asshole on the forums. You admit this openly. I am an asshole back to you. You cancel my orders.

Who is the asshole again ?

You just don't care about the people right?
I mean look at poor Xian... he's so broken at this point he just keeps posting the same post over and over and then yelling the functional equivalent of "AMEN!" after other peoples posts. Heh

Excuse me Josh ? I am the broken one here ?

Broken like the 200 boards you just sent back ?

Broken like your promises over the last 11 months ?

Keep up the great work, COO of the year !

You people are tiny minded fools.

You know, I used to think the Illuminati was evil for wanting to kill off 90 percent of the human race. Then I finally realized, they are RIGHT. 90 percent of people on this planet ARE dumb, stupid animals and useless eaters and SHOULD be killed off.

So I support the Illuminati in their agenda of creating GMO foods (that will give you cancer), putting chemicals in the foods (that will give you cancer), putting vaccines in baby bodies (which gives them brain damage), fluoride in the water (lowers people's IQs), and so on. Another side effect of GMOs and vaccines is that they promote infertility. The fact is, the majority of people on this planet are too stupid to be having children. They will just raise their children to be dumb stupid animals like themselves.

I am very thankful to the Illuminati for doing all of these things to kill off the useless eaters. I also pray that they start World War 3 soon and that at least 2 or 3 billion people are killed in it.

There is just too many stupid people on the planet, and this planet needs to be cleansed of the burden of supporting such useless animals.

Heil LUCIFER, the glorious Light Bringer!!!!!

Heil the Rothschilds!
Heil David Rockfeller!
Heil Henry Kissinger!
Heil Bill Gates!

I said the admins won't slap the scammer tag on BFL and Inaba because they won't bite the hand that feeds them. BFL pay for advertising:

What, you mean the same people posting the same stuff over and over?  What's your point?  It's already known... there's no one knew coming to the party and you're in the newbie section, so as you're so keen on pointing out, everyone that is a newbie is a sock puppet.

Or does that only apply when people don't agree with you?

Seriously... look in the Custom Hardware section... all the bitching is done by a handful of people, spouting the same nonsense over and over.  The amount of people complaining versus the amount of people who don't complain amounts to about 1% our customers who complain, the other 99% don't.   So again, your point?

As for caring, I said I don't care that poor little Charlie got his boat of lies sunk by facts... yet again.  Learn to read.  I only post here because it's entertaining, beyond that I don't really care too much what you do on this forum.  By all means, continue to have your little BFL circle jerk, I'm sure it makes you feel better to think you're accomplishing something.

Butterfly Labs' COO of the decade right here folks.

http://siliconangle.com/blog/2013/05/21/butterfly-labs-bitcoin-kerfuffle-is-classic-startup-mistake/

"Butterfly Labs has been plagued with mounting concern from disgruntled customers, which led to company reps delivering harsh rebuttals including Josh Zerlan’s, the company spokesperson, statement on its forum which read “You received no answer because your question was so incredibly stupid that it doesn’t deserve an answer.”

Joining Kristin Feledy in this morning’s NewsDesk is SiliconANGLE Founding Editor Mark “Rizzn” Hopkins, providing his Breaking Analysis on Butterfly Labs’ ASIC Bitcoin mining gears and the harsh statements directed at customers who wanted some answers.

Is there’s more to the delay than just production issues?  Are the mining gears really shipping?

According to Hopkins, the gears are really shipping and he personally knows people who have received their gears.  As far as the outbursts go, it’s not something that happened because of other unknown issues that customers need to worry over.  Hopkins explains that “customer service is not in the repertoire of the Butterfly Labs folks, which is geeks and engineers.” These geeky skills and “social graces don’t usually go hand-in-hand,” says Hopkins.

He also noted that the Butterfly Labs kerfuffle is a classic mistake done by startup entrepreneurs: over-promising and under delivering.  You cannot blame customers for reacting harshly regarding the delays, especially when they’ve already paid for the gear. Unfortunately, as stated earlier, Butterfly Labs’ people weren’t well-prepared to handle disgruntled customers."

"Describing BFL's pyramid scam as a "kerfuffle" is itself a "kerfuffle". The notion that they're just incompetent, but well meaning or trustworthy is SO last year. What was that 2012 drop dead date for chip delivery again?

The article linked above also dismisses BFL reps' lack of social graces as a by-product of their nerdiness and tech savvy nature, yet it's been proven again and again that their Chief Operating Officer knows next to nothing about chip production, product design, chip cooling, power consumption, or a multitude of other elements essential to the production of a product as technically challenging as an ASIC mining device. This is why BFL has outsourced nearly everything, supposedly to people that DO know this stuff. So what is it that BFL people do all day again? ...and why can't they treat investors with the respect they deserve?"

WTF is you folks problems though?

You expect to implement a half ass production and wonder why half your customers are furious?
Lets get real for a second, even those who are patiently waiting and know that casting silly stones is not a way to advance our interests, are still very frustrated.

I defend an enterprise solution daily to customers who view themselves as future gates and jobs types, and they come at us with all sorts of ridiculous claims about our software and hardware (that they did admittedly pay waaaay too much for, but hey they are endusers, if they could have built it they would have). Yet still, with all their drama and whining, Neither I nor my company ever resorts to taunting them or belittling their concerns.

And its not like anyone is bitching about your specs or your device ... they are mad because it seems like the actual delivery to customers is the lowest priority you have. Hey its your company, what people think of you is up to you. You might not be alone in this market forever, if someone with more funding and knowhow come along to wipe the smirk off. I'm not enraged, and I dont hate ya. But I do have to cock my eyebrow at your practices and wonder...

Oh I am so staying out of this one, I'm off to do some coding.

What's the matter? Are you too afraid to have an opinion of your own? Has modern society, aka feminism, feminized you to the degree where you are afraid to take a stand one way or another? Because that is what separates the men from the boys. Men are capable of having moral positions, men are capable of honor and character. The modern Marxist politically correct society emasculates us to never say anything which might offend others, even when it might be the TRUTH.

Until you men stop being cowards, and start boldly declaring the truth, the madness and chaos and dysfunction of the modern society will continue. Society needs REAL MEN to lead, and there are very few real men left, men who have any real honor or character or integrity.

Are you one of these self-proclaimed "REAL MEN", out of curiosity ?
