3541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: May 22, 2021, 05:04:27 PM
Online gambling is an alternative source of income during a pandemic even though it is still risky, because there will be more at home that can be used as an alternative income and not just online gambling because many can earn income online.
One would not agree. Doesn't matter if someone during a pandemic under the pressure of normalizing his financial condition, or a son of a millionaire who is gambling just for fun and can burn $$$$ and not give a sh*t, it still remains the same - gambling isn't a source of income. You pay to gamble just like pay for a ticket to watch a soccer match. One should understand this before it's not too late.

So damn right. If gambling would be a source of income then more than half of the world would be gambling right now.
Gambling can never be considered as a source of income because it can never guarantee stable income.
Most of the times we will be losing money instead of making money. It relies mostly on luck and rarely on skills.
It should rather be considered as a fun event.
3542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the motive behind the anti gambling campaign on: May 22, 2021, 04:49:27 PM

Everywhere I look, all I see are negative comments made about money lost gambling. Mental illness associated with gambling and anything that can illustrate gambling in a negative light.

As someone who considers themselves to be a profitable gambler. The trend of covering only the negative side of the industry puzzles me.

Why is there never mention of the winners.

Quote
WE WON A MILLION DOLLARS PLAYING FANTASY FOOTBALL

Despite the abundance of advertising telling you otherwise, you will almost certainly never win millions of dollars playing daily fantasy sports (if for no other reason than more and more states are outlawing it as a form of illegal gambling). But Rob and Dave Gomes, two 20-something brothers from Boston, are among the few who did just that. Last November, the pair of New England Patriots fans won $1,000,000 on daily fantasy sports website DraftKings. You might recognize them, as they were prominently featured in DraftKings’s ubiquitous TV commercials throughout the fall.

https://melmagazine.com/en-us/story/we-won-a-million-dollars-playing-fantasy-football

....

I think the sad truth is, people who lose big money gambling. Are the same people who would lose big money investing in the stock market. Some demographics simply don't make good financial decisions. There are always big losers and big winners in every industry. And don't understand why gambling is being painted in a light where only the big losers are acknowledged.

Fantasy sports is illegal in my US state. This may deprive me of options and opportunities to make money and profit.

To me there is a question of whether the media's negative coverage of gambling is intended to protect people who make bad gambling or investment decisions. Or is it intended to deprive people like me of opportunities to make money.

The thing is

1. Most of the people who gamble lose their money
2. Gamblers who win money inspire others but then those inspired people gamble and lose money because (see no. 1)

Also, money don't last forever. Those who win money gamble again and lose it or spend it lavishly.
There are many other factors which contribute to the negative fame of gambling.

3543  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reversal Psychology ! on: May 22, 2021, 04:39:15 PM
Yes what OP said is true. I always used to believe that the market is always going against me back when I started trading.
But later I started holding and realized that isn't the case. HODLing gave me good profits and so I have started trading again.
I am learning more about the analysis and I think it is important to know that there will be trades where you lose but there will also be trades where we win.
Giving in the efforts to analyze and to know when to enter the market is the crucial thing IMO.
I do not believe in such things as reverse psychology because all these things are just making you weak. If you do the opposite of what you analyze then basically you are doubting your own skills and it is rather gambling than trading. Imagine how would you feel if you predicted the market to go up but you sold your coins because of this bullshit reverse psychology and then the market moves as you predicted, upwards.

LMAO, that actually makes sense but as I said, we will have times where we lose and we will also have times where we win.
Nothing can be consistent and so we can't continuously predict the direction of the market.

It might sound irrational but even crypto trading can be mastered if you just learn what is the right type of trading for you. Some people would prefer altcoins trading, some will have the best techniques for day trading while some might just want to hold. Just see what works for you with small amounts and the one that actually works for elongated periods, just stick with it.

HODLing has been more beneficial for me and I will always stick to it but at the same time I am also trying to learn to trade with some strategies.
I have allocated myself a portion of my portfolio which I can use to trade while the rest is meant for HODL.
3544  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: May 22, 2021, 04:23:04 PM
Some of you guys must have watched high stake slot players in their pajamas rolling thousands of dollars in single spin, buying hundred of thousands worth of bonus spins. If you notice closely yo will found the same pattern all over again and again. They start with loosing most of their bank roll (almost 80-90%), and then going all in at last and guess what, bingo!!! they hit hundreds of thousands of dollars. Very few of them write in their stream discerption about rolling with fake money (or money of which they can only cash out like 1%). Almost all of them scream loudly and show us that they are winning it in real, some are very good at faking it, which attracts lots of new gamblers (with false expectations) and they end up loosing it all which ultimately leads to social disharmony.
The argument they provide is as follow, ''we are entertainers/performers''. This need to be stopped. I am creating this thread to discuss such issues and to warn other new comers about the potential loss. If you have found such streamers please post here so that it can be helpful for new players to make realistic decisions.

It's good that you posted it here to raise awareness among new gamblers. The truth is that internet is full of fraudsters and scammers trying to gain benefit out of others.
We shouldn't believe everything that we see on the internet. To be honest we can't really do anything about those people but raise general awareness about them on various social platforms and forums.

In case anyone wants a real example of why Martingale is a horrible strategy and how quickly things can go terribly wrong, I've got one for you:

https://imgur.com/a/ZeDUurN

After swearing off dice forever, I started dipping my toes in again recently. I think this will scare me off playing again for a while. Friendly reminder that if you decide to gamble, never chase your losses, and when the fun stops, stop.

Damn, you started with 0.001 BTC ?
You must be having a very huge bank roll or enough guts to start with 0.001 BTC on a Martingale strategy.
Fortunately you won the last best which would have covered your losses but yeah Martingale is indeed a very risky strategy unless we have a huge bankroll.
The odds are against us most of the times. So it's better we just gamble with what we can afford to lose.
3546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scenario of the crypto market in near future. on: May 21, 2021, 04:05:41 PM
Oh c'mon. I along with many others here have survived the 2018 crash. Now that was a bear market. This is still nothing compared to the 2018 crash when we compare the dump in %.
Bitcoin has fairly took it well and has recovered a little. At the point of writing this post the market is dumping again. Bitcoin is at $37k.

The history only proves one point that bitcoin recovers the price and makes a new ATH every time.
Many people are buying the dip this time though. So I am pretty positive that the market will recover soon.
3547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why solana need to top 5 cmc and eth competitor on: May 21, 2021, 03:34:13 PM
Finally someone is asking about Solana. I am following Solana since last 50 days and I am only more and more impressed with it's tech everyday.
I am reading more about Solana every day and it has indeed partnered with many good projects. I am a strong ETH believer and Solana has equally impressed me.
I do see it in top 5 in next 5 years but anything can happen and only time will tell us how good it is. I am definitely buying some of it as it looks really promising.
3548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is what Elon truly did, you have to know it! on: May 20, 2021, 05:19:36 PM
These pump and dump games  won't continue in the long run. It will stop as soon as a huge number of people realize what Elon Musk is actually up to.
I do follow his tweets but just to get to know what he is up to. It's a shame that such a wise man would do something so stupid.
I used to admire him for accepting bitcoin payments and raising awareness about bitcoin but the late events have caused him his respect.
I am sure many people would have criticized him for the dump and things would just get worse for him in the upcoming days if he continues to pump and dump.
3549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl is not the best option as it seems on: May 20, 2021, 05:09:18 PM
It actually depends on how determined you are on HODLing your coins.

If you would have bought bitcoin at $1000 in 2014 then you would have lost 80% of the value in the dump when bitcoin was dumped to $200.
But if you would have hold on to your coins then in the next 3.5 years bitcoin's price pumped upto $20,000

If you would have bought bitcoin for $20000 in 2017 then you would have lost almost 85% of your value since bitcoin dropped to $3000 approx
But if you would have hold it for 3 years then this year you would have made 3X

So it actually depends on how determined we are on HODLing. It's obvious that not everybody can get in at low prices.
But if we believe in it and HODL it for long term then it will surely give us the gains.
3550  Other / Off-topic / Re: Now tell me if you still believe on Elon Musk. on: May 20, 2021, 04:12:53 PM
According to Tesla, the reason why they are not anymore accepting bitcoin is because of this reason.
Elon Musk says Tesla will no longer accept bitcoin due to fossil fuel use

But this article came out and their study proved that Banking system consumes two times more energy than Bitcoin: Research

So what are your thoughts on this, is Elon still credible that we should follow his tweet?

I am very happy with the current situation because this is the only way to make people realize that one shouldn't blindly follow others.
No wonder there was a huge panic sell. Most of those Elon followers would have sold while the believers would have bought the dip.
This time though the market recovered at a good pace. Trusting someone blindly is a big mistake and I am sure many of those people would have lost their money.
HODLing is the only way to survive such crashes.
3551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can not crash on: May 19, 2021, 05:48:58 PM
From what i have notice people are planning to crash cryptocurrency and if Bitcoin crash what is the benefit of people who is against the development of digital currency, it astonished me that a man called Elon musk is fighting cryptocurrency for no relevant reasons, is that government is using Elon to remove crypto in line of currencies?

I'm afraid of the way all the crypto is reducing in price, now that i join digital cryptocurrency fully with my family and sale some of my properties to invest into crypto, it's when Elon musk will bring scandal into cryptocurrency.

There's where you committed the biggest mistake. Never invest more than you can afford to lose.

I am pretty sure that the old timers will be sitting on a couch with some popcorn seeing bitcoin decline.
Even I wasn't able to control my laughter when I saw those big red candles and so many people panicking.
I tried to make my friends calm and made them buy the dip. Let's see how that turns into their favor.
3552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China bans Bitcoin again in 2021 on: May 19, 2021, 05:44:48 PM
China bans bitcoin again in 2021.
Another fud in the bull run.  >Sad

https://twitter.com/Reuters/status/1394665379616673792

China banned restricted bitcoin cryptocurrencies again?

But I thought they had already done that. Oh wait, they did it few times already in the past and now repeating it.
But does it matter ?
No, because despite banning cryptocurrencies in China we had seen a good growth in it in the bull run.
So may be we might face a correction for a long time but after that the bull run shall repeat and break the ATH again.
3553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is so far just following TA. Why so much panic. Thoughts on bounce area? on: May 17, 2021, 04:56:22 PM
Even I think that the $42k support won't hold long since the selling pressure is more than buying pressure.
I think if it goes below $42k then it will take no longer to fall below $35k and take a support around $32k.
Although it's just a pure speculation because nobody can accurately predict bitcoin price.
3554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reactions From Musk's Bitcoin criticism on: May 17, 2021, 04:50:56 PM
Elon is just acting like a piece of shit these days while the truth is that he is upto something.
A few weeks ago he was the richest man on this planet and someone wouldn't abandon a revolutionary cryptocurrency out of the blue.
He must have surely thought about it well before tweeting his statement. Whatever it is we will find out sooner or later.
For the time being, avoid panic sell and HODL
3555  Local / India / Re: Whats happening with Binance/WazirX on: May 17, 2021, 04:38:56 PM
There are some major concerns about deposits in Indian exchanges like Wazirx and Zebpay these days.
Many people are complaining about deposits not crediting. Wazirx is saying that they are having issues with their banking providers.

Deposits not being credited at such times make me feel how centralized it is.
I personally tried the P2P platform on wazirx but even that seems to be irrelevant these days. Their order matching system is absurd.

It's high time, India should have a DEX platform with good amount of liquidity too.
Would you guys use an Indian DEX platform ?
3556  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is Easy dont be afraid just on: May 17, 2021, 04:21:26 PM
If trading was so easy everybody would be making money.
If trading was so easy I wouldn't lose money in it.
If trading was so easy there would be no panic in the current crypto market.

In order for somebody to gain on one side the other has to lose his money on his side.
This is how trading works. We have to be smart enough to know in which direction the price would go.
We have to analyze it and set our targets right to get the profits.
3557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fully vaccinated individuals now spared of masks in the casinos in Vegas on: May 17, 2021, 02:54:41 PM
Account to the source: https://www.gamblinginsider.com/news/11906/fully-vaccinated-individuals-no-longer-required-to-wear-mask-in-vegas-casinos
Fully vaccinated individuals can now play normally without any masks in the gambling casinos and at the same time it goes for both indoor and outdoor locations in Nevada. The decision was made on May 3.
Quote
The Board’s agents will not attempt to confirm vaccination status of patrons. Consequently, unless circumstances change, it is not practical for the Board to attempt to enforce a mask mandate tethered to an individual’s vaccination status.

As a whole the decision was made on May 13. Some licenses might be more restrictive as compared to the others.

I do feel like there is another reason for you guys to be vaccinated! You can actually experience normal casinos like before pandemic if you do wear the mask and follow the protocols.

That's so lame Embarrassed

Just imagine people around you wearing masks to save their lives and you are becoming a corona career by not wearing any mask.
Even if a person is fully vaccinated, it doesn't mean he can't spread covid-19. If he doesn't use the proper precuations like washing hands frequently he can still spread covid-19 and infect others.

Also, this would create a bad impression on others who are wearing the masks in a way. They might feel to get rid of their masks too.
What if a person having covid-19 removes his mask by seeing a person who hasn't wore a mask.

3558  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: reasons for bad trading on: May 16, 2021, 05:33:24 PM
Those reasons are probably right for most of the traders in the current crypto market.

thats why many books advice to trade in smaller steps.  dont go with a gut feeling, set a goal and stick to it.

This is where many fail and the experts take their profits. Sticking to our strategy is an essential part of trading which many traders forget.
I have myself made some losses due to not to sticking to the target prices and have learned this the hard way.
3559  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: we should monitor wich one ? (indicator) on: May 16, 2021, 05:20:21 PM
Hello guys
good day

for cryptocurrency, we should monitor what things to indicator ?

for example we should monitor dominance ? we should monitor BTC Price ? we shoud monitor Total ?

can you explaine it and offer me ?

best wishes

You should really consider doing a basic trading course before starting to trade to understand the terms and fundamentals of trading.
You can watch videos on youtube to know what types of indicators are used in trading.

Once done you can focus on the below indicators and plan your strategy accordingly.
For the most part concentrating on EMA, MACD, RSI and Bolinger bands will be sufficient to start with trading.
