Seriously why is all this back and forth with Directbet? They really need to stop already, haven't they only been in business for a few months already? Your actually kind to books Peepsplace, if it was me they would be rated a C just like how SBR does unless they prove otherwise just because they are "new". Don't let up because some books do a couple of good things, it has to be all the time.

Also Peeps look into adding Betowi and Sportsbetting online to your list, they also accept bitcoin to deposit and withdraw, they have been in business for a few years. Just thought u should know as they offer 100% bonuses.
I just found out that Betowi and Sportsbettingonline are the same. You can use the same ID and password for both books.

A few posters have mentioned that a book should earn it's grade. Some books have gone under confiscating player's funds. All of them where in business less than one year. The following will be maximum grades based upon time in business. No exceptions will be made.

A - 2 years
B - 1 year
C - 3 months
D - 1 month
F - reserved for books that are slow paying or stiffing players.

That's not true. We offer many more bets on this game, and many more will be added as we approach the match day.

That's also not true. There are direct links to the top 9 leagues, but we cover well over 200 Soccer leagues and competitions.

As of this writing, there are more than 400 Soccer games that you can bet on right now.

No other Bitcoin Sportsbook beat that !

Peeps Place, perhaps you gave us a lower rating because you were not aware of all our features ?

Please reconsider our rating.
My fault. You do offer many leagues. The first page only lists 9 leagues but you have a section with other leagues.

The ratings are not just my opinion. I have played with all the books. I add that too what players are posting. I may only have one week experience with a book, while others are playing there daily for months. Their opinion means a lot more.

Thanks legion, I'll look into those two. I agree that the ratings have been too kind, especially with all the new books that keep starting up. More books are going to close shop.

I feel like a shill for Anonibet but to answer DirectBet and gogoppp these are a couple of reasons why I consider Anonibet superior and a safer book than DirectBet. I encompass both American and European sports. The World Cup will be huge.

1. Multiple linesmen.
2. Multiple people involved in risk management.
3. Many more clients world wide.
4. Many more offerings.
5. Higher limits full game.
6. Higher withdrawal amounts.
7. They opened in 2011.
3569  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 08:03:09 PM
The books moving on air without their own linesman are going to get one sided action at times. It looks like the case with most bitcoin books. Many clone Pinny, CRIS, Betwin, etc and just play follow the leader. Since most are so small, I doubt they lay off any action. They are vulnerable. The bigger books don't even need to lay off action. It's a choice based upon their risk management.
3570  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 07:36:08 PM
Directbet- You say that your profit margin is small. How are you going to make it by getting competitive odds? Your profit becomes non-existent. Something needs to be changed to keep up with the top books.

The new books just breaking in have to have a good sized bankrolls to absorb losses at the beginning. It's the same as any other business. You have to be able to hold out until profits roll in. Most individually owned restaurants go under. It will be the same for the new bitcoin books.
3571  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 07:27:52 PM
Face it guys, DIRECTBET sucks. They should be rated a C AT BEST.

They used to be decent with 1.85/1.85 odds but now they're awful with 1.70/1.70 odds.

Our odds are dynamic and change constantly. They can go as high as 1.92 / 1.92, depending mainly on how reliable they are.

Generally, you will be able to find better odds as we get closer to the event start time as odds are more reliable at that time.

When odds are not reliable they are reduced. The other option we have is not to offer these bets at all, but based on customers feedback we have concluded that it is better to offer bets at reduced odds rather than not offer them at all. You might not like them and can skip them if you like, but others might find them appealing.

Our odds can never be as low as 1.7 / 1.7 before the start of the game, but they might get low in extreme circumstances during the game when there is a lot of uncertainty. However, usually when that happens, it is for bets that are not offered by other Bitcoin sportbooks anyhow.

While the theoretical hold may appear very high at first, we have been very transparent on our thread by announcing that our actual profit to date is just 3%, mainly because bettors have the advantage of picking only the bets that they like most which are in their favor. Out of that 3%, we give back 1% to our most loyal customers through our VIP program and other promotions, bringing our gross profit before expenses down to 2%.

This profit margin is the minimum required to cover our operational costs and pay out affiliates. Should the profit margin increase in the future we will be able to increase the odds.

That's said, we have several big winners here so it's certainly possible to profit with existing odds.

Bitbook was brave to offer unrealistic high odds and we have all seen the result. They went out of business and didn't have enough to pay all their customers.

While our odds may not be the highest, we offer the highest security for your Bitcoins, 10 BTC monthly bonuses to those who frequently bet on our website, a unique feature that allows you to negotiate better odds and a very high max bet size.
I posted positives in the post above so now I'll address something that I like, but feel you are overrating. No deposit is not as big with a bitcoin book as a cash book. Huge balances aren't needed with the ease of deposits and withdrawals of the bitcoin books.
3572  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 07:19:54 PM
DirectBet : Here are your positives.

1. High limits on live betting.
2. You accept bets immediately with 0 confirmations.
3. You pay fast.
4. No deposit required.
5. You paid me in an Olympic event where two people won golds. I did bring it to your attention and you still paid. The rules were rightfully changed subsequently.

there are many good things. Get competitive with live betting and it will really help since it must be ignored if the hold remains as high as it is right now.
3573  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 06:53:02 PM
DirectBet - I don't want to keep harping on the negatives of your book since there are positives so I'm just answering questions at this point. It's been posted on the forums by players that both Anonibet and Nitrogen are "A" rated books. Player survey has stated that Anonibet and Nitrogen are "A" rated books. I take all surveys seriously but multiple backings of a book must be taken more seriously than 1 or 2. Also, you posted in your thread asking for players to respond to the survey. That is the Chicago way to vote. We use the dead, stuff the ballot box and bus them in to vote.
3574  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 06:42:55 PM
Anonibet will be an "A". Nitrogen will be a "B+". All other books will be a "B" or lower. "A"s and "B"s aren't going to be thrown around easily. SBOBitcoin will most likely be the third rated book. SBOBitcoin still does things that are confusing. They keep changing the exchange rate and using a go between for deposits/withdrawals that isn't liked by players.
3575  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 06:28:30 PM
DirectBet- If there isn't one player that states DirectBet is better or equal to Anonibet or Nitrogen, why do you think you should be rated close to those two books?

What you say is informative about your book and is appreciated. The ratings are determined for the players by the players.
3576  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 06:15:51 PM
DirectBet- You can't just toss out hold because it isn't listed in the criteria. If a book does something outrageous, it has to be considered.

Our odds, on average, are not lower than your top rated Bitcoin sportsbook, and if you factor in our bonuses and other promotions, you will see that our real odds are actually better.

So my question to you is, why did you reduce our rating due to "Low Odds", when our odds are not lower than your top rated sportsbook ?
I didn't say that I reduced your ratings because of low odds. I'm saying that I'm almost completely ignoring your live betting on American sports because of low odds.
3577  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 05:20:21 PM
Great feedback on DirectBet. It would be nice if posters do this with every book.

When comparing hold, all markets must be considered. Some books cater to soccer bettors and others want a different market.

DirectBet- You can't just toss out hold because it isn't listed in the criteria. If a book does something outrageous, it has to be considered. If a book has a maximum bet of .1 BTC on full game World Cup Soccer, as well as American sports, that book is almost useless even if they paid 1 second after the game went final.
3578  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 09, 2014, 09:06:42 AM
Hi Peeps Place,

Can you please explain why we are rated B ?

According to your criteria, we are as good or better than the Bitcoin sportbooks that you rated A.

I'll prove it one by one :

Quote
1. A heavy emphasis will be placed on speed of payments.

We settle all bets within minutes of the event completion and if possible even while the event is still in progress. In fact, we offer a 1 hour settlement guarantee, so if your bet is not settled within an hour, you get a free 0.02 BTC bet.

Try placing the same bets on various different sportbooks, then average the settlement time and you will see that we are on top of the list.

Quote
2. Grading time.

See # 1.

Quote
3. Books not requiring personal information including an email address will be graded higher. Anonymity is a plus.

We offer complete anonymous betting. Providing an e-mail address is optional.

Quote
4. Date opened if less than 2 years.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, it doesn't matter how long the book is in business. All that matters is what practices they are taking to protect users funds.

I've explained it in more details here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448302.msg5985065#msg5985065

We are the safest Bitcoin sportsbook for the simple reason that we do not take deposits and keep hold of your valuable Bitcoins, except during the lifetime of the bet and only the amount that you elected to bet. This period of time is kept to the minimum thanks to the fact that we settle all bets within an hour. Your Bitcoins are kept safe in your wallet under your control at all other times.

We are different than other Bitcoin sportbooks, who take deposits and keep hold of your Bitcoins for no good reason. By doing so, your Bitcoins are left vulnerable to theft or loss, and there is always the risk that the sportsbook will disappear, taking your Bitcoins along the way, or spend them on their operational costs, or use them to pay winning players, essentially turning into a Ponzi scheme, or otherwise prevent you from withdrawing for various dishonest reasons, as happened countless of times in the past.

In fact, to date, there hasn't been a single Bitcoin sportsbook that we are aware of, which ceased operation gracefylly and honored all withdrawal requests.

Currently, none of the other Bitcoin sportbooks take the necessary steps to truly protect deposits in a similar way that Poker Stars is doing in the on-line Poker industry for its Poker players, and therefore your Bitcoins are not safe in any of them.

I'm not claiming that we are safe as a bank, but for rating purposes we are safer than all other Bitcoin sportbooks.

Quote
5. Limits. In general, the higher the limits, the deeper the bankroll of the sportsbook. If a bitcoin book takes high limits and pays out quickly, it shows its strength.

We offer higher limits than the Bitcoin sportbooks that you rated A. You can net profit up to 7.75 BTC from each bet, so for example, if the bet odds is 1.5 decimal, you can bet up to 15.5 BTC while other Bitcoin sportbooks typically limit it to 1-2 BTC max. Furthermore, unlike other sportbooks, we never limit winning players.

Quote
6. Sports and options offered. Uniqueness of lines and betting options is a positive.

We offer comprehensive sports betting coverage, 17 different sports to bet on including unique betting such as on Horse Racing 24/7 from around the globe and Eurovision 2014. From time to time we offer special bets, for example we accepted bets on The Oscars 2014 even during the ceremony and up until the announcement time.

Quote
7. Mobile betting. The ability to bet on the go can be important to some.

You can bet from mobile devices. We thoroughly tested that our website is compatible with them.

Quote
8. Live betting. The more, the better. Offering live betting isn't easy; the ones that do offer live betting lines tend to be stronger in general.

We offer comprehensive live coverage. That's our specialty. You can bet continuously while watching the game. Unlike others, we do not limit live betting to just break times.

One of the Bitcoin sportsbook that you rated A doesn't even offer live betting.

Quote
9. Customer service. The better the customer service, the more professional the book.

We respond to customers enquiries quickly and in a professional manner.

There hasn't been any complaint on our customer service to date. Our thread here can be served as a proof :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393147.0

Quote
10. Interface. Ease of use is important.

That's a matter of taste but we believe our website is very quick, simple and easy to use.

Quote
11. Whether or not the book requires a deposit account. Depositing into a bitcoin book is a much bigger risk to the bettor, especially since these books have not built up a strong history that shows their staying ability.

We do not take deposits as mentioned above.
There are a lot of good things about DirectBet. I think your biggest advantage is keeping live lines up at all times, not just during commercial breaks. I think that your biggest downfall is that your odds aren't competitive compared to other books. I'm talking full game just prior to the game starting. Also, your advantage of keeping live lines up at all times diminishes with a huge hold. This includes the 1% affiliate reduction. At a site such as Peepsplace where posters are familiar with each other, the 1% is just a buddy bonus. I give you 1%, you give me 1%. If your book has a hold of 8% the reduction does make it 7% with a buddy bonus or legitimate affiliate arrangement. That is considered.

It's going to take a little bit longer to get the new ratings up for the books.  I can address all your points at that time since comparisons can be made. Most books will get lower ratings. There have been too many books that have gone under. A common denominator is a small staff. It seems all the one and two man operations go under. Blockbet, Bit365, Stakebet and Bitbook all small operations.

The ratings are not an exact science. If all books were opened 3 years with the same amount of clients and volume, then it would be very easy to rate all books. The criteria above would be followed 100%. Since that is far from the case, individual aspects of a book must be considered.

If a book is paying 2 hours instead of immediately, it has to be determined why a book is taking longer. Speed of payment is the most important aspect of identical books. As mentioned in a post above, if a book takes a high volume of action, along with a large withdrawal amount, an exception has to be made.

3579  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 08, 2014, 07:06:44 AM
Books- You are free to enter the thread with comments on your book such as limits, offerings, deposit time or any other information that you would like to share. In fact, it would be great if you did so since this is a comprehensive thread.

It would be appreciated if you stayed away from discrediting another book in this thread here. Book vs. book war is just clutter. The players can discredit the books when problems occur.
3580  Economy / Gambling / Re: Ratings and Reviews of all the bitcoin sports books. Poster input appreciated. on: April 08, 2014, 06:40:01 AM
The new criteria look promising.

"1. A heavy emphasis will be placed on speed of payments. Several books immediately pay out after the game has been graded. Those are the books with the least risk involved. Sweat the game, not the payout is not just a slogan. It should be a way of life for these bitcoin books. Bitcoin books have a much higher standard involved than post-up books because there are no fees involved and no need for a third party processor."

Based on this, I'd suggest that Anonibet be lower than A.

"We process all withdrawal requests manually in order to provide a safe and secure environment to our customers. Withdrawal requests between 08:00 – 22:00 GMT may take 1-2 hours to be processed. Withdrawal request made after 22:00 GMT will be processed the next day after 08:00 GMT..."

"We process all withdrawal requests manually in order to provide a safe and secure environment to our customers."

I'm unclear why this is more safe and secure than the automated systems.
I feel it relates instead to not having the software to do automated payments.
And the down time from 22:00 GMT to 8:00 GMT shows a lack of staffing.

Also - "After I made a deposit, can I withdraw my funds without placing any bets?

Clients are required to wager the whole amount that was deposited, before any withdrawal request. If you want to withdraw funds without making a wager a 5% handling fee is charged."

I like to deposit an amount I feel is about what I'll need, but sometimes the line I want is gone.
Or I find other aspects of the book I don't like that I wasn't aware of previously.
Sometimes I deposit more than I'll need because there's a chance I'll be making several bets and I want to save time later if the funds are needed.

It costs the book nothing to return the funds. Zero. There should never be a "handling fee" with bitcoin books.

Also, if this non-standard rule exists, it shouldn't just be buried in the T&C - it should be prominently displayed, at the least on the "Deposit" page.

It does get a little tricky with Anonibet. They can't be directly compared to the other books. They have the highest limit for withdrawals at 500 BTC. Leaving that amount of money in a hot wallet is dangerous for both book and player. The maximum withdrawal amount has to be taken into consideration along with the amount of clients. Anonibet far exceeds the other books.

Anonibet's marketing is  world wide while some of the books are still limited to the bitcoin forum here. Anonibet does have a 2 to 3 year head start on the other books so all of this is understandable. The other books are playing catch up in a market that is becoming more and more saturated. That's why I believe that Anonibet should be the top rated book.
