Both your dryer and oven use 220.
You can run a line off of those plugs for about $50 USD.   Wink
I have gas appliances, but I wonder how much it would cost to run a 220 circuit...

call an electrical contractor get an estimate.

The shorter the line the less it costs.

Also a lot depends on your main box. 150 amps or 200 amps = okay

100 amps = no go.

people are aware of this.

so if btc shows 1000 units sold tack on 10% or so for other sales and we are at 1100.

just a guess but it is more then 0%  so why not  not just pick 10%

and realize we are 1000 to 1100 units sold
35643  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: September 01, 2015, 08:55:02 PM
somebody dropped 1628 BTC/single order recently; either a farm or hashnest/pacmic4? buy.
If a farm- at least 200 machines (without discount). Close to a PH, but probably a Ph with a bit of discount.
I am still thinking that they will decrease the price/give out coupon at some point-$200-$226 (1 BTC) and sales would increase twofold, in my opinion.

Would be nice to get a few good coupons for batch 2.

I ordered 2 on day one so 2 coupons for 200 each for batch 2 would be nice.

I hope sfards makes some new miners soon before the LTC hashrate goes into the shitter.

I hear that, need something cheaper to keep the hashrate up on these coins.

Hashrate barely dropped 15% post halving, and its already stabilized...I was hoping for at least a 20-30% drop...

heh you and me both brother..I want the hashrate to drop more as well but old machines..hard to turn them off...again

I have 2 s-7's on order.  I justify that I have an idea to make the run at .18 watts a gh quietly and I owe the community to show the idea in a long detailed thread.

I am not an electrician. Can somebody please tell me if I can run one of these on a standard outlet for an apartment in the USA? I would buy the power supply that bitmain sells.

In addition to the electrical supply in your apartment, remember that the S7 should be considered a LOUD 1200W heater. While nobody has tested one yet, every expectation is that it will be at least S5 loud. Think vacuum cleaner loud. Maybe Bitmain worked some magic, but the fans that are present are expected to be noisy and powerful to keep the 1200W blades cool enough. If that fits your apartment situation, then you'll be good.

Along with the above I will do a very long and through review.  Sound meters.  Different fans. ways to reduce noise.

That said.  At best  it will be 72-77db  and nasty pitched when it arrives.

I think I can do 65db and better pitch sound with high hash say 4400-4800.

I know I can do  45db to 50db with downclock to 3000gh

I hope I can do   45db 3000gh  and .18 to .20 watts.  with downclock and voltage drops.

May I remind you of something called "HALVING" before going crazy on a purchasing spree?

July 2016 is 10 months or 300 days away.  Making this the perfect time to expand.  Since you should roi in 250 days with this gear.

We may have 2 big jumps this one and the next or the one after that. Then we level off.

All the big guys will had filled their mines.  And lots of old gear will turn off.

the diff is going to be close to 57  next jump

I see 60 getting past and then like 50 was really tough to pass I think 70 will be hard to pass.

As always past history means nothing when picking the future.

35649  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S5 - Underclock - Undervolt - Best J/GH on: September 01, 2015, 04:25:56 PM
Per the specs on the S7, it might not be ABLE to undervolt - and almost definitely won't undervolt to the point a single 600ish Watt PS will run it.
UnderCLOCK might get there, can't hurt to try it.
I don't see the point of that much underclock on it though, if you have to crank it down that far to be profitable, your electric rate is so high you really shouldn't waste power on mining.

Unlike previous Bitmain miners, they are NOT running the S7 at the max voltage rating of the BM1385, they actually picked the MIDpoint of it's (so far) published voltage options.

you don't understand my goals.

sound is my issue.  I have a 2.4 cent location  but I need quiet gear there.

which means fans need to be swapped.  power needs to be cut. I also need to find bottom voltage. For longer use.

The net is difficult to explain in detail as  people do not like to read long posts.

BTW if I am correct this machine can do 0.20 watts or maybe 0.18 watts  if so   then a 636 watt psu will allow  a down clock to 3000gh.

I will have a close to silent s-7 that is more efficient then any other piece of gear on the market.

At 2.4 cents and 0.18 watts  this gear will survive the ½ ing

S5

hell they even use them in PICMACv3

They don't state that PICMAC v3 uses S5s. they talk about an "ideal S5" as the basis for the electric price thing.

I would BET they have replaced all of their own S5s, or virtually all of them, with S7 or "S7+ type" units.

....

If they already replaced their S5s with new S7, for PICMACv3 for example, I am not that impressed by the S7, I would expect more. I simply understand an "ideal S5" as one that doesn't pull any power nor need maintenance.

people have clocked s-5's to use 0.3 watts vs 0.51 watts  see below

It's the new S5+ Miner and i'm using 3x BITMAIN PSU 1600w

please explain the problem i'm felling soo worry about it, it's 6,674.56 GH/S(avg) now !!?

okay

you have nine blades each has  3 pcie cables

blade 1

blade 2

blade 3        this has a power issue

blade 4

blade 5

blade 6

blade 7

blade 8

blade 9

so turn the machine off pull the 3 pcie cables out from the blade 3

start the machine that not that blade 3 should read  nothing since it has the plugs out.

if blade 7 reads nothing you started on the wrong side

turn the machine off  plug in the three and unplug counting from the other side.

then turn the machine on  now blade 3 should be blank.

all other blades should look great.

turn the machine off.   keep the 3 unplugged pcie cables off to the side.

unplug one of the blades next to the blade 3

use those cables in blade 3

turn the machine on   blade 3 should be perfect since you know the cables worked in the blade right next to it.

if blade 3 still sucks   you need to contact bitcointech to get a new blade

if blade 3 works  the the problem is in the cables

try looking at the 3 pulled cables again.

i think you have extra if you have 3 psu's swap in 3 extra cables.

Thats all I got.

PLEASE HELP !!

is that all from the same miner?

you may be lucky and have a simple power issue.  loose cable etc.

So what do you use for the power supply?

board  3 or blade 3 appears to be  not getting enough power.

do you uses windows or mac.

you really need a scanner for mining  I have had more then 30  miners hooked up  ip scanners allow me to figure out issues  with them much faster.

I have found a 636 watt psu  88% efficient but costly at 128 usd.

I have 2 s-7's on order and I have one of these psu's on order

http://www.onlinecomponents.com/datasheet/hrp60012.aspx?p=37810156

model is Mean Well HRP-600-12

adjusts 10.2 to 13.8  88% eff

I even found the absolutely best possible psu but it cost even more

http://www.onlinecomponents.com/mean-well-hlg600h12a.html?p=45585982

http://www.onlinecomponents.com/datasheet/hlg600h12a.aspx?p=45585982

HLG-600H-12A

note that A means it has a pot adjustment  10.2 to 12.6

this is 92% eff with no fan!  but it is 198 usd and is only 480watts

It does allow for a quieter miner but is too pricey.

With the cheap model HRP-600-12  I get up to 636 watts.

I will find a freq that allows me to run at 600 watts and 2400 gh.  say 150 vs 300

I will test it with the evga 1600 p2 making sure I am doing around 600 watts I will remove it

I will then use the meanwell  and once it fires up at freq 150 2400gh  600 watts 12 volts.

I will back the pot down to 10.8  we should get a good watt drop off and the machine should run well.  maybe 500 watts for 2400 gh

I will then know if the s-7 has lower watt then rated.
