3581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you prefer bitcoin, FIAT money or other? on: March 31, 2015, 01:52:35 PM
Why are you asking this here? In this BITCOIN forum of course people are trusting bitcoin and think BTC have advantage over fiat! (So I also prefer crypto-coins like bitcoin)

Because I have discovered that 3 users will choose FIAT money instead of bitcoin and I would like to know the think of more & more users in this forum.

If most merchant around me already accept bitcoin, i will choose bitcoin
If there aren't any merchant around me which accept bitcoin, i will choose fiat Sad

I think bitcoin and FIAT has advantages and disadvantages of each. FIAT more likely to trade in buying something, Bitcoin is more inclined to invest means

Bitcoin will become mainstream & used as currency to trade in buying something just like FIAT

This actual bitcoin (if it will not be "modified") will never become mainstream but it will stay a valid alternative for send large quantity of money (for example) to our relative or parents in other countries (under this point, bitcoin is very amazing and better than WU, moneygram etc).
3582  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [BIT-X.com] Twitter Campaign - Discussion on: March 31, 2015, 01:29:39 PM
I know that I don't have the minimum requirement of 250 followers, but check : https://www.twitteraudit.com/Pangu_exe  My rate is very good, and my followers are really and not fake (90%).

@marcotheminer, could I "join" your twitter campaign or not?
3583  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NSA shooting: One dead and at least two injured on: March 31, 2015, 10:52:31 AM
The passenger in an SUV that authorities say one of two young wearing women’s clothes attempted to ram through the entrance of the National Security Agency’s compound in Ft. Meade, Md., on Monday has been identified as 20-year-old Kevin Fleming of Baltimore.  NSA officials late on Monday said that Fleming was being treated at the University of Maryland Hospital’s Shock Trauma Unit in Baltimore for a gunshot wound to the chest that he received. They said he was also dressed in women’s clothing and disobeyed an order by guards to stop the SUV before it entered a restricted zone at the highly secretive U.S. spy agency.

Officials said an NSA police officer shot and killed the driver as he crashed the SUV into an NSA Police vehicle. As of early Tuesday, NSA officials declined to identify the driver. A woman’s wig he apparently was wearing was observed on the ground beside the SUV, according to media reports.

This is also another article :

The SUV was stolen Monday morning, said Mary Phelan, a spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department. She declined to name the hotel, citing the ongoing investigation, or release any further details, referring all questions to the FBI.
....
"A lot of people come in here trying to find their way to Fort Meade," Reinach said, adding that he's heard of people going through the wrong security entrance, but "usually they'll pull over to a waiting area and they usually do check out."

3584  Other / New forum software / Re: The 1.5 million dollar (5067 bitcoin) new bitcoin talk forum. on: March 31, 2015, 10:41:57 AM
I think yes and you?
Why are you thinking that ? This is not a game or a guess...
Looking at current development status (github etc..), it's unlikely that epochtalk will be finished before the end of April !

NB : Don't ask me when, I don't have any ETA or other infos

It was just my personal opinion and I don't care much if the forum will not be released by the end of April or end of 2015, and I will not ask you when it will be released (don't worry).
3585  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] Bitcoin for Paypal(gift) on: March 31, 2015, 10:39:04 AM
looks like newbies have no scope to become a good member here, looks like newbies will have to buy active accounts....

Looks like we are in the 2015 and some people don't understand that paypal as method of payment is 100% irreversible Roll Eyes, amazing! I suggest you to use/offer another method of payment for buy bitcoin here in the forum.
3586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you prefer bitcoin, FIAT money or other? on: March 31, 2015, 09:45:27 AM
for balance, maybe conduct the same poll on a general site about money/investing. see if they're okay with having fiat.

I am not registered in other forums, maybe you can open this poll on other forums and after give me the links so I can add them to the post.

That's a weird question to ask, don't think we are anywhere close to moment when we would be forced to choose between bitcoin or fiat. Both can co-exist and they probably will for a long time. Besides, the choice is not ours to make, it'd belong to governs and we know very well governs serve a lot more than masses interests Smiley

Thanks for your post, I have added this line : [1] Only an hypothetical case. I think they can co-exist but the discussion is about if you are forced to choose between bitcoin and fiat oney what will you choose? However I think at one cert point the two things can't exist at the same time, a sort of fight between decentralization and centralization.
3587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do you prefer bitcoin, FIAT money or other? on: March 31, 2015, 09:32:47 AM
Hey guys,

I've decided to open this thread for ask you now if you are forced to choose between bitcoin and FIAT money (eur, usd, yen, etc...) [1].

What will you choose?[2]

[1] Only an hypothetical case.
[2] With all the flaws and strengths of the two option.
3588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BurtW arrested on: March 31, 2015, 09:15:14 AM
Today BurtW has posted this :

The www.burtw.com web site is real.  It was put up by my wife (JeanW on here now).  To answer some questions posted above:  I traded on localbitcoins.com.  The prosecutor in the case claims I needed a business money transmittal license to do that.  Instead of just notifying me that they though I might need a license they have charged me with a felony which could mean up to 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Because I had to hire TWO law firms, one for the criminal case and another one for the civil forfeiture case, so far, defending myself against the charge of not having a license in order to trade on localbitcoins has cost me almost $200,000.  This is a large chunk of our retirement fund and our daughters college fund.  This does not count the property (Bitcoins, cash, etc.) I may have to forfeit in civil forfeiture.

My family could really use your help so if you are in a giving mood please donate Bitcoins or that fiat stuff at www.BurtW.com

A bit more information can be found there.

Thanks!

PS:  http://www.cnn.com/2015/03/30/politics/federal-agents-charged-with-stealing-bitcoin/index.html

Made me laugh and I have not laughed for a long time.
3589  Other / New forum software / Re: The 1.5 million dollar (5067 bitcoin) new bitcoin talk forum. on: March 31, 2015, 08:58:55 AM
... And it is passed another month (from their deadline February 2015). What do you think guys, will the new forum software be finished before the end of April? I think yes and you?
3590  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [BIT-X] Signature Campaign - Discussion on: March 31, 2015, 08:47:41 AM
I think that rates should be increased for next week unless we see a major price improvement in btc. Btc fell over 10% this week and payouts have stayed the same. unless bit-x has actually chosen to not care about the fiat price as would be respected.

BIT-X deals in terms of BTC for the signature campaign.

I think that is a good thing, but I hope they stick to it if the price goes up..
Is everything ok regarding the campaign and your trust Marco?  I have had no problems and everything seems to be running well, but having a big negative trust doesn't look good for BitX or the campaign, will it make a difference?

Maybe he can choose a new "manager" and ask the bit-x team if they agree or not, but also for me it is not a real problem (at the end he can talk with who left him a negative trusts and maybe they can change it to a neutral one, but it is their choice).
3591  Other / Meta / Re: Remove All Faucets from Service Announcements on: March 31, 2015, 08:41:55 AM
If I can say my personal opinion, for me it isn't necessary a new dirum section only for the faucets site ( really not necessary) but the final choice is by theymos.
3592  Other / Meta / Re: Enough is enough! on: March 31, 2015, 08:37:43 AM
I once more implore the admins to protect the (decent) members of this forum by ridding BCT of the cancerous troll that is Decksperiment. (And, even to a lesser extent, his spam.)
Latest reference: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=993776.msg10935245#msg10935245

I agree.  Dank was banned for the same reason - incoherent nonsense posts.

Is against the forum rules be a troll? It can really be a big news for a lot if users and all they should be banned.

3595  Local / Accuse scam/truffe / Re: IlColonnello (Giacomo La Bruna) on: March 30, 2015, 06:52:02 PM

3596  Other / Politics & Society / Re: AUSTRALIA TO START TAXING BANK DEPOSITS on: March 30, 2015, 06:46:26 PM
This is beyond stupid. People will just convert all their cash to bullion or Bitcoin (hopefully), and the banks will lose money. This has been tried before, and it was a complete failure back then. Politicians never learn from their mistakes.  Angry

Have you seen how bitcoin can be useful and extremely strong against the banks, this law is very very stupid and not necessary ... but they make the rule and the people will find a way to bypass them Wink. I really want to know if they can tax bitcoin .
3597  Local / Accuse scam/truffe / Re: IlColonnello (Giacomo La Bruna) on: March 30, 2015, 06:31:13 PM

3598  Local / Accuse scam/truffe / Re: IlColonnello (Giacomo La Bruna) on: March 30, 2015, 06:23:32 PM
I soldi difficilemente li rivedi.

3599  Other / Meta / Re: Mod remove spam negative trust? on: March 30, 2015, 05:41:48 PM
I just was checking the trust and I noticed I had negative trust, this surprised me as I have NEVER done something worthy of negative trust and the reason was  quote in the fork debate. I then went on and noticed this user spams constantly negative trust on lots (and i mean LOTS)of users including highly respected ones just for conflicting opinions. Is there anyway to have a mod clean out abuse of the trust system or is this a bannable offense as we all know the trust system is highly used here.

Only theymos can remove a feedback but it seems that the trust system isn't moderated, but don't worry at the end it isn't a big problem. Who care? A negative trust from a scammer or a newbie...  Roll Eyes
Just frustrating to have someone abuse the spam system due to afflicting opinions on topics that need debate.

I know what are you thinking, it is a sort of "flaw" in the system and it seems it will never be resolved (as a part of a free and not moderated trust system). Everyone should think with his own mind when he is reading all the trusts that an user has in his trust profile.
