3581  Economy / Economics / Re: George Soros and Bezos have paid almost zero taxes on: June 24, 2021, 08:18:09 PM
The example of Bill Gates was given in one of the previous posts. He never paid a penny in tax, despite owning around $100 billion worth of MSFT shares. The shares were transferred to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and that means that these shares will never be taxed (because the foundation is classified as a charitable trust). The case of Bill Gates is known to everyone because it was publicized a lot. Other billionaires keep such transactions as secret. Nowadays charity trusts are one of the loopholes used to avoid tax.
That's technically both a great thing, and also not something we should care at all. I hate the rich as much as the next guy, I hate Bill Gates personally as well for his past (nowadays not so much) but giving all of your stocks to a charity foundation is not a tax fraud if it actually does work. He is not getting that money back, he is not profiting from it, and his charity actually helped Africa save tens of millions of people from dying and on top of that his latest investment turned out to be a company that saved the whole world with biontech.

So long story short it is a great thing that he did it, look at Jeff Bezos, dude got 10 billion dollars bail out money for his space place because he can, just because he can, not because he needed it, not because he couldn't do it without it, he had the money, dude literally bought james bond series a day later, he HAD the money, the only reason he got it was because he can and that's it. THATS the bad guy.
3582  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and happiness. on: June 22, 2021, 04:44:26 PM
Lol, there are a few things that happiness can't buy with money and happiness can't measure by money. Even if you will say, give me 5 bitcoin and I'm happy for that, but for sure you will come back and ask for more.

I saw a blog a month ago regarding a rich man and ask, what makes him happy he had everything he wants. He simply replied, "I may look happy but there's something that I'm looking for to fulfill my happiness". So it means, human doesn't have contented with what they had, it doesn't mean you have a lot of money you are happy at all time.
Is there a truth that money can't buy you happiness? Sure there is, there are tons of unhappy rich people out there. But this has been basically a propaganda from the wealthy to make people who are poor think that they are always unhappy and somehow money is the cause. If you are unhappy then you are unhappy doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, it is not about the money, anyone can be unhappy from health reason, relationship reason, family reason and many other reasons, hell even psychology plays a big role in this and doctors could help you with it, anxiety and panic attacks do not care how rich or poor you are in the end.

However one thing is for sure, money could help you with it, if you are unhappy and have 100 dollars in your bank account it is going to be hard to overcome that, but if you have 100 million than it is an easier path that you can at least spend the money to find what can make you happy. So money DOES bring happiness if you are unhappy, it is not the cause of your unhappiness it s the cure.
3583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto - place where promise is worth more than product on: June 21, 2021, 08:28:15 PM
Why people rush to buy such assets. Promises of product evaluated higher than products that already are here and works. From my experience such products pumps to the moon and crash weeks before releasing product. Leaving investors with crashing price and product that no one is using.
That is true, people promise crazy stuff and others totally buy it. I have seen people invest into things that have maybe 5% of what they promised and they get the money like they completed the project. I do not want to name any names but there are like some idiotic projects that do not even promise something but just gets hype because they spent like a million dollars on marketing and that's it, they are suddenly the thing people talk about.

Give me a million dollars and I can make a project that will be in the top 500 of CMC for sure without a doubt, all I have to do is pay all the crypto related "news" places to write an article about me that I will confirm, then pay all the twitter influencers I can find to do a giveaway, then pay all the telegram channels I can find to share me on their channels, and pay all the youtubers I can find to make a video. All of this in return makes a project HUGE without actually doing anything technical in the blockchain part, just be copy of some other project.
3584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 21, 2021, 07:10:10 PM
Most likely Belgium will make changes in the starting lineups to give the main players a rest... For example, yesterday Italy did so... But I don't think they will have difficulties with the outsiders...
I'm more interested in Ukraine vs Austria match... The winner will play Italy! Grin
By the looks of it that is a common thing by the coaches, I do not know if that is better or worse, sure if you bench some of your players and rest them that means you will both have more rested players and also one less game for injury risk anyway so it is 90%+ good. However there is also fact that if you are doing great and on a roll and winning games then maybe you should keep the players in so that they could continue with that momentum, in football momentum is everything and if you keep on a roll of wins it is important to keep it going.

Italy managed to beat wales so they were lucky but if you end up with 2 wins and a loss because of this move instead of 3 wins, that may impact a bit later on as well and that is why I would say there is a 10% chance that it may not be a good strategy to do that. Obviously it is unlikely that it would happen that way, but I just feel like there is a small chance.
3585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: June 21, 2021, 06:15:31 PM
Liverpool will still sign 1-2 players, but they will first want to sell some of the dead wood.
CB positions are good, we are a bit thin on the fullbacks and in attack. Midfield will hold but I'd definitely prefer another player to join - Gini was always fit and available.

I think we'll see 3-4 players leaving first (Minamino, Origi, Shaqiri + 1-2 more) and then 2-3 new ones arriving. We will be contenders again next season.
If you ask me Liverpool doesn't need any new players, they just need to stay healthy and they just need to want the game. Their team was amazing with the same roster in some games and then it sucked with the same players in some games, the bad part about this season was that they had like 5 or so game losing streak, that is not something Liverpool does very easily, at least not in the recent years, I mean think about it, instead of 5 losses in a row, if it was 5 wins in a row they would have been 84 points and right behind city with one game difference.

I am not saying they should have won it all, but the difference of those 5 games made was staggering in the end. Which is why instead of getting new players and change what already worked, they should focus on why last year was bad, and how they could become consistent with their wins once again.
3586  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who is selling? on: June 21, 2021, 05:51:13 PM
Like I get the markets move but is this big wallets, ancient wallets? Who is actually selling? Normie noobs who just got in the market and are spooked by comments?

I dream of the day when alt coins are not tied to the price of bitcoin. Uhg...
Not only those traders are the ones selling, you need to understand that this market is highly leveraged so when the price goes down a great deal of people not only lose money but they lose everything and they are forced to sell, also it is impossible that altcoins are not going to be tied to the price of bitcoin when they are using its technology and for the most part most exchanges price altcoins on terms of bitcoin and as such you are asking for an impossible thing.
You are right a huge part of crypto traders are trading futures and leveraged trading and when price drops their coins are liquidated unless they can deposit more and more funds.

The altcoins tied to bitcoins is a curious discussion and although all the exchanges have altcoin/BTC pair, I think once a particular altcoin reaches a status such that they can be traded alone, they should not be dropping based on the BTC market. You may consider USDT, it is although centralized and hence controlled but never drops a shade even during the biggest crashes so sort of operates in isolation despite the market moving both ways.

Even USDT has a BTC pair, but it does change based on how BTC moves instead of based on how USDT moves. It's complicated and I think Ethereum might be the closest non-stable altcoin that can achieve the status of not being influenced too much by BTC crashes and bull runs.
3587  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your trading strategies ? on: June 21, 2021, 04:38:06 PM
my trading strategy is very simple, is to buy coins based on support, and when the breakout also I will buy it,
of course wait first, and don't buy it all in, if you buy all in it is a bad strategy, buy gradually and funds will be safe.
looks simple doesn't it? but this will be difficult to do if you are already trading in the field
How do you differentiate between real support for a coin and just plain hype. Recently when everyone was hyping for the SHIB token, a lot of traders got excited and thought there was enormous support for the token in the market but actually it wasn't support instead everyone was being a victim of the hype created through Twitter accounts and telegram groups.

I make strategies based on technical and fundamental analysis. If I found good and strong fundamental coin, I will hold it for maximum 1 year because that coin has potential to going up multiple times like 5-10x.
I do hold some bitcoins and earlier I never used stop loss for holding bitcoins just like you but after the sudden crash where the market fell down by 50% almost, I have started using stop-loss even for holding and I suggest you do the same because the market despite being mature and large, is still volatile and being controlled by some whales.
3588  Economy / Economics / Re: Amateur Traders Cause Bubbles on: June 20, 2021, 08:55:46 PM
There are  more amateurs than those who are experienced and wise investors, once those heavy weights

start moving their assets, both sides amateurs are being moved as well, they know how to play from both

emotions and understanding, we can still see this influence from the current situations.
Shouldn't it be better for veteran traders? I mean think about it, if you are a veteran trader and there are a lot of amateurs in the trading market that means you should be doing better than them and while they are losing money, who are they losing to? They should be losing to the veterans. However most likely outcome during periods like this is that there are people on each side losing money and that is the cause of the coin dropping and everyone being unhappy.

I do not think that we should allow something like this to fully blamed on noobs, sure they are making bad decisions but not like veterans are picking up their slack and making a profit while keeping it high, they are taking advantage of it or they are losing with them. This is why I think there was a huge hype, something can't go up forever, and there was a fall eventually which all makes sense and it is totally fine.
3589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Pancake Bunny going to recover its original (+200$) value? on: June 20, 2021, 08:15:08 PM
You probably heard of the big dump of Bunny because of some hackers, representing (unfortunately for all those people who were previously owning the coin) a big opportunity to buy, so I was asking myself is if the recovery plan they launched is going to put the price back to 200$ (more or less), especially with the token burn.
I believe there are two reasons for this cause it to happen. One of the fact that the market dropped, which means bunny price dropped as well and that is expected plus it is a new thing so it is normal that it dropped more than other stuff, it is not really shocking to anyone who has seen the market to see how all other coins dropped so it s normal. Secondly it is because there wasn't any new reason, if you are in crypto market you need a constant improvement, if you are just "another token" then you are going to get crashed eventually.

I believe taking both of these into consideration there is only one tiny tiny chance for it to recover, which is both market going up a lot suddenly and at the same time bunny doing something unexpected that is loved by everyone, if you could have that all at the same time then you can see an increase.
3590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Binance too big to fail? on: June 20, 2021, 07:26:15 PM
The Binance platform is a famous exchange with a great reputation and is one of the first giant exchange platforms in crypto, and it is very difficult to fail because it has senior developers and security experts running this platform, This platform has achieved huge success and there are millions of traders on it and there are +300 coins listed on Binance, This is really the first choice for any successful project.
If you go back there were many other giant exchanges in terms of the volume of Bitcoin that went through on a daily basis and with time these popularity keeps changing from time to time and sometimes a major hack would turn the tables against the popularity and sometimes their technical inadequacy to handle heavy loads and the time it took to sort the issues worked against them.

When you talk about Binance, they already had a major hack and they are literally purchasing or replicating everything that is available in the cryptocurrency market space and only time will tell how long they will be functioning without any major issue.
I do not think that binance would really be like the old timers stuff, they are just way too good right now. I understand that "hack" could be a thing, but back in the day those hacks were directly hit, like for example mt.gox got directly hacked and they lost almost all of their bitcoins, whereas binance keeps theirs in cold wallets which is unhackable, it is not connected to anything so you physically would have to steal it which is still recoverable as well.

This is a company worth in tens of billions of dollars, probably hundreds of billions of dollars it were to go public in USA, coinbase is not even half of that and worths so much. Do you really think that a company that big would fail via a hacking? I really do not think that is possible and which is why I believe they are not too big to fail but they are too big to care for their security more than anyone else ever did in history.
3591  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sports - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: June 20, 2021, 06:34:07 PM
I saw some people making crazy bets on France to win against Hungary in EURO 2020, and here are few examples posted in public...
Betting is all fine when you win and when you can control yourself, but it's not great when France plays only 1:1 and you lose a lot of money Smiley
We always see winning tickets and here are some losing tickets for over $474,450 and for 5,000 euro:

Hooooly cow! Someone lost 474k on a bet???!! That is a lot of money man, that is literally enough money for me to retire and never have to work ever again, that is the amount that you can retire and never have to worry about money ever again unless you go buy some super yacht or something, this is just surreal how rich some people are. I am sure that is not all of his money, if it was that was one of the most stupidest things I have seen in my life, I hope that dude had like tens of millions of dollars in order to play such a big bet, if he had less than he risked way too much.

However if you were to wager on any game then this would have been one, we are talking about France versus Hungary here and the result was a shock to the whole world, I was really hoping for a France win and wagered as well but I wagered 20 bucks on it not 474 freaking thousand dollars.
3592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 20, 2021, 06:05:40 PM
Perhaps the only record that Turkey will be able to take from the competition. Unless in this last group journey, some team remembers to get a junior to break the record.  Roll Eyes
It's actually quite funny to see that everyone in each group still has a chance to advance to the next round, since 4 numbers 3 of the 6 groups still go through. Then it is almost more difficult not to advance to the next stage, even Turkey can still qualify, but ok they need a big victory or at least a victory
It is actually quite difficult because there is a morale in play here, Turkey was seen as a good candidate, maybe not the best but they were in top 16 of the odds in futures, they were seen as the team that would go as second from this group, sure Italy was best but they were seen as better than both Switzerland and Wales.

However they have proven that they are not as good as they were last year, the qualifiers was a great period for them but after qualifying they just... started to suck? All in all they are all unhappy and the whole nation is mad at them, without exception as well, a nation of hardcore political turmoil constantly got all together in a brotherly bond to hate the nation team all together. Normally I would say that will make them play even harder, but from what I can see it looks like that just makes them play even worse without any morale.
3593  Economy / Economics / Re: George Soros and Bezos have paid almost zero taxes on: June 19, 2021, 08:38:21 PM
According to the research by ProPublica, the billionaires in the US saw their wealth increasing by $401 billion between 2014 and 2018. And they paid a total of $13.6 billion in income taxes during this period (which corresponds to a rate of 3.4%). An upper middle class family in high-tax states such as California and New York are required to pay close to 60% of their income as taxes, while these people are paying around 1/20th of that amount.

If people still believe in Biden and his stupid spending plans, then the future looks hopeless for the United States.
You know what was the initial idea for these type of people to not pay high federal taxes and then slowly begun to be zero? It is so that these people could provide something amazing for the nation so that they could benefit that way. A ton of workers, a lot of money, selling internationally to bring money to usa, basically when a nation has a company like amazon then they are doing better even without getting taxes from amazon.

But, what happened eventually? Because of how horrible working conditions are, and how much turnover there is, it didn't help anyone, and now slowly it is moving towards automation, which results with worse and worse working conditions because humans can't keep up with inhuman automation numbers. This caused people to either quit, or being paid way way less than poverty levels, so they got benefits from government and that is paid by tax payers. So what should be beneficial even without tax, became a burden on tax payers.
3594  Economy / Economics / Re: Miami Mayor Will Allow Employee salaries in Bitcoin on: June 19, 2021, 08:06:45 PM
Not only Miami, but also Texas promotes the integration of crypto assets into government structures. The Texas Department of Banking has allowed state-owned banks to store cryptocurrencies. This is stated in the notification of the regulator on June 10. https://www.scribd.com/document/511395733/in2021-03#from_embed

That's mainly because we have a crypto mining operation setup going on in texas, and that is going to bring a ton of both energy consumption which we all know texas loves very much, but also we will have a new business that pays taxes there. So why wouldn't texas be positive towards crypto?

Let's say you are governor or whatever the highest position in your region is, and someone comes to you and tells you that there are 10+ different companies willing to spend millions of dollars to build a business in your area, it is not an illegal business, and they will pay combined hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes and hire many people, wouldn't you make life easier for them as well? That is what I am talking about, it is basically a no brainer for texas to make crypto supported and not just allowed, there is a big difference between supporting something and allowing something.
3595  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your trading strategies ? on: June 19, 2021, 07:26:18 PM
It seems most amateur traders are swing traders buying spot- to 10x to catch an about 10% move but the most successful traders are probably doing something else.

Arbitrage ? https://www.sfox.com/blog/bitcoin-arbitrage-is-possible-but-not-the-way-youre-doing-it/

Scalping on 1 to 15m candles ?

Market maker / bot strategies ?

How do you trade ? Does someone has reliable info on the strategies of the most successful solo traders ?
I don’t think there is any strategy that works best. Another thing is it depends on you and what you’re really looking for, because that’s what’s going to help you determine whether this or that is going to sit well with you. You don’t just hop on it because everyone is doing.

Sometimes I see my friends using a strategy I can never try, and I envy them for that, but at the end of the day I still have to continue with my own strategy because that’s what has been working for me for years now. And moreover some of the strategies you have mentioned are mainly working on stock market. If you apply them you might not really make it.
3596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Let's say you have a large amount of BTC and you on: June 19, 2021, 06:52:48 PM
We have no escaped from this. This a problem that we are about to face in the future once KYC is mandatory no matter how much it is.
To tell you that, we are closely losing the word anonymous in crypto. Some banks are already asking for our source of income before we send it to them otherwise, they will freeze it if we fail to provide information. Exchanges are doing as well when we surpass the limitation.

The best option for you to do is convert it is fiat in small chunks so maybe it finds unnoticed. Or you use P2P service if you are not afraid of scam risk.
KYC is now mandatory for every centralized exchanges before you can start trading on their platform. The only one that I know that doesn’t do full KYC is Binance, but your trading will be limited and at a time you will be forced to do your full KYC to have access to unlimited trading. So they are now doing mandatory KYC.

Not everyone is au fait with how decentralized exchanges or P2P works, so they tend to choose the centralized ones because of how easy they are. But in a case like this, P2P will be the best option. And moreover there isn’t much risk these days on P2P, because you can still find trusted buyers and sellers by filtering the options you have and setting your own requirements. You can do that on Binance P2P, and even LocalBitcoin, and Paxful.
3597  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is fearfull. Someone said this is time to be greedy on: June 19, 2021, 06:16:00 PM
Its been fearful for last many weeks.  Sad

I feel like this is at that time of "be greedy when others are fearful" period and we are seriously there. It has been there for a few weeks because the price didn't change, if it went even lower then we would be in fear even more if it went above then we would move towards greedy, since it didn't move then it is about the same as well.

I personally think that there is nothing to worry about if you are a long term investor, I am feeling fine and dreaming of having a bit more money so that I could invest, so far because of pandemic and bad investments I have lost a good chunk but when I get money if the price is still same I would say it is a great time to buy as much as I can afford without putting too much pressure on my own finances.
3598  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't you think Bitcoin will die over the summer? on: June 18, 2021, 06:30:42 PM
The dump, the crash, market correction...what else?
These are not things to consider and think that Bitcoin will dump. Think that from $58k down to $38K, we are still from $0. If you can remember what happens before where Bitcoin drops from $20k to $4k? And yet, we are still alive and even it grows more.

You will say it die over the summer? Nothing can tell the future of Bitcoin, it was unpredictable.
It dies only when we all die.
Well, the "die" word is wrong there that is true. However I think it is more about "will bitcoin go down more during summer?" type of situation if you ask me. We did move from 20k to 4k and then went to 64k, that is something over course of few years but it did happened and if you are smart enough you would have made a ton of profit, I wasn't smart enough for that but I did made a near 9x level profit during that period as well.

But that doesn't change the fact that bitcoin dropped a lot for the past 1.5 months and the question is basically do you think that will continue? Only newbie may get such question and those long term holders will never rise any of such things.
3599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 18, 2021, 05:14:03 PM
Game 7 is a must to watch for all of us here because it is the most exciting series in the Eastern Conference. I expect to see this kind of game especially when the Milwaukee Bucks defeated their opponent in the first round with a 4-0, They are not playing around this year. This last game will be one of the best competitive matches in the NBA we will ever see. This is history in the making and I'm sure a lot of you guys will watch it live tomorrow night.
The odds for game7 are already out and it's even so I think Kyrie Irving will still not suit up on that game.

Yup, that would be exciting as I think the winner on that one will eventually become the NBA champion as they are the only team that has not been affected so badly with injury.

Have a gut feeling though that Joe Harris, Jeff Green, and James Harden three's will finally hit their mark and destroyed the Bucks just like what they did in games 1 and 2 hehe.
Bucks is not a bad team they are definitely a good team but the reality is that Nets is losing because they are lacking Irving which is an important player obviously and Harden is not 100% back neither, dude scored 5 points last time, and this time 16 points which is not bad but not what you expect from someone like him.

So long story short it is basically Bucks vs Durant right now and that's a challenge. Let's see what is going to happen in game 7, it is going to be a good challenge and the real thrill is that if Bucks gets eliminated (which is possible it is Durant after all) I am sure Bud is gone, they will get Carlisle if they can since he is out of Dallas. Also just the other day there was news about Dallas having problems at organization and Cuban said it was bullshit, yet after just few days Donnie and Rick both resigned, so I am sure it is not a bullshit story there is something wrong at Dallas.
3600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: June 18, 2021, 04:40:10 PM
It turns out that there is a recent update regarding the transfer of Mbappe, according to Josep Pedrerol who is a Spanish journalist who got the leaked news from a Real Madrid insider, that Mbappe's move will be realized in August 2021. If these rumors are true, then Ancelotti can find a replacement for Ronaldo. Because Madrid do need a striker who can help Benzema up front. It looks like Ancelotti will play Bale, Benzema and Mbappe on the front line. This will make Real Madrid victorious again in the 2021/2022 season.
I believe Bale is still questionable, I am sure they can find another player if Mbappe comes in. I still think that they need to revitalize the whole team and not just one place, Mbappe also played at striker position way too much, he could definitely play at any attacking position because dude is great but if he ever comes to Madrid I believe he will slowly replace Benzema at the front, I know benzema is a great player but he is not as good as mbappe and certainly nowhere near his age so it would be smarter to keep Mbappe happy.

I still do not think that it is guaranteed deal, we need to wait and see how it plays out because there could be problems with the transfer but if it is actually done, I would say get two players being Mbappe and play him at striker, that shouldn't really be that impossible for real, maybe not this season but next season they should have two great players. For example Salah is said to be upset at Liverpol, can you imagine getting him as well? That would make them the most lethal team in the world.
