Sounds fair and rational to me.   Roll Eyes
3582  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to deal with Atlas's threads on: October 24, 2011, 11:45:59 AM
I can't keep up with the user names, is he under Atlas for sure?  Only that name?

If you can't tell who Atlas is just by reading his posts, you're doing something wrong.

Also, last I checked 'Ragnar' and 'I. Goldstien'.

He's like the Wile E. Coyote of the forums, planting ridiculously poorly thought out threads from ideas that he purchased through an anarchist mail-order catalog that are supposedly intended to stop the powers that be, but always backfire and mutilate him, leaving him flopping around like a human accordian begging for attention and more supplies.

I noticed you refrained from using the word acme--the culminating point, as of achievement or excellence--while referencing anoetic threads penned by the Changeling-who-wears-no-clothes.

Unremorsefully he did so.
3583  Economy / Speculation / Re: over $3! almost 50% gain in 72 hours! on: October 24, 2011, 11:41:47 AM
What is with you guys and betting, can he not have an opinion?
3584  Economy / Speculation / Re: over $3! almost 50% gain in 72 hours! on: October 23, 2011, 11:55:43 PM
So you guys think we're at the start of a rally?

Volume is down, stagnation ahead.  Inevitable decline to follow.
3585  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: How many of you Bears have ever been a victim of a Short Squeeze? on: October 22, 2011, 10:11:22 PM
For whatever it worth. Warning: crazy unfounded speculation below.

Wanna to hear some unconfirmed and crazy rumour?

Some Russian oligarch started accumulating some bitcoins today, bought like 8k BTC today so far. Perhaps going to accumulate some more and than make some announcements that some mironation accepts BTC as "official" currency.

Burn shorts! Burrn! lol.

Source?

His ass.
3586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Major buying opportunity? on: October 22, 2011, 08:21:48 PM
I was referring to the fact that you can't just buy all btc for whatever the current price is, theres only so many being sold and once those are bought...the price goes up. So no, you can't just "buy them all up 21 million".
3587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Major buying opportunity? on: October 22, 2011, 07:01:10 PM

Really the price is super high right now for what bitcoins are.

Price reflects expectation, not present status. and $21 Million for all bitcoins in existence is a bargain. Some crappy companies go for Billions.

Quite some battle going on at $3. Let's see who wins.

I don't think you understand how exchanges or commodities work.
3588  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Song for the Bears on: October 22, 2011, 06:58:29 PM
Gonna need more than this for me to change my name.
3589  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volatility and Bitcoinica on: October 22, 2011, 06:57:16 PM
Never used Bitcoinica and I don't understand how it works. If the prices are on a clear trend, can Bitcoinica make profit? Because if it's clear for even the most outsider that bitcoin price rises, he buys and waits. Profit comes. Then stop, and redo.

How does this works?

The spread between buy and sell prices is how Bitcoinica makes money.  It's like paying a 0.05btc fee every time you make a trade.

The from where do the money come?

If I know bitcoin will be 4, and I buy at 3.10 (with breakeven at 3.20) and I put in 100 dollars (500, with 1:5 leverage) then I'll ear a lot!

Please don't use bitcoinica unless you know how margins, margin calls, and stop loss work.  And don't take advice from people on the forums.  Except mine, in this post at least  Wink
3590  Economy / Speculation / Re: over $3! almost 50% gain in 72 hours! on: October 22, 2011, 03:53:42 PM
I am now regretting that I did not but at $2 plus, but the funding is so complicated that I gave up Sad .  But the uptrend looks great, not many walls for bitcoin to surmount.

Once it starts to stagnate people who have been buying on the way down and are gonna dump and fuel an even harsher crash.  Down below 2 this time.  Rinse and repeat a few times.
3591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Flyers! on: October 21, 2011, 07:23:43 PM
Wow.. and I thought -I- wasted my time on this forum...

I guess noone has any actual useful ideas here to promote bitcoin. I am working on the copy for a flyer, but I have no art skills.

This thread started out fine.. good posters from OP.

Went from fine to awesome when Matthew posted his flyers, that shit is hilarious.

Here I used the bitcoin price chart to chart the thread for you.

You seem really butthurt over everything.  Bagholder?

Ouch you are, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49159.msg586961#msg586961

So sorry, good luck with that.
3593  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many people here shorting bitcoins got screwed by the rally today? on: October 21, 2011, 12:25:29 PM
Not me, I got out after seeing that big ass wall at 2.  I do expect it isn't over, but the near future is uncertain.

3594  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will one day rise again like the phoenix on: October 21, 2011, 07:15:50 AM
It's  been rallying up today.

Typical trap, downtrend will resume (already has, down to <2.40).

Goddamnit. You're a GOOD BEAR. WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS.

Haha.  Maybe I should change my name  Cheesy

3596  Other / Meta / Re: RFC: new forum software specifications on: October 20, 2011, 04:54:31 PM
If they are that obvious they get deleted anyway, the moderation team here does a pretty good job.  Also if there is such an obvious troll you can just hit ignore, and you will never see that persons posts again.  Or are you wanting to control what other people see/read as well?  I would rather read all peoples opinions on a topic and consider for myself the worth of the content, not what the majority on a forum deem useful.
3597  Other / Meta / Re: RFC: new forum software specifications on: October 20, 2011, 01:59:05 PM
1) Something similar to Facebook's Like / Google+ +1 / Reddit's Upvote / etc...

Not necessary.

Slashdot-like meta-moderation system is waaaaaaay better.
It allows users gaining reputation, stops 99+% of spam, hides 95% of useless posts and can work similarly to FB/Google's +1.

No.  I've seen how people react around here to anything that could be construed as even slightly negative about bitcoin.  I'd like to see a forum that encourages discussion and alternate ideas, not a circle jerk of nerds all congratulating themselves on being awesome.

1. You don't even know how the system works, and yet you speak.
2. Also, moderation depends on what majority thinks, and on this forum majority is noobs. So there won't be any kind of "circle" of self-adoration.
3. Normal mods would still have greater power than rest of the people
4. To some degree, sooner or later every forum becomes a circle of people-with-similiar-mindsets who adore themselves and reject incompatibile mindsets, so your point is invalid.

So you think being able to downvote and hide posts is a good idea?

What wall, it's clearly another fake wall from The manipulator

3600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass panic buy when reaches $1? on: October 19, 2011, 05:41:11 PM
I think 1 dollar will trigger the bull trap we've been waiting for.  A bunch of people start buying them up, but since the volume isn't there the price rises sharply, people see this, assume it's the rally they've been waiting for, lots start to buy, then it stagnates, crashes, recovers a bit, stagnates, crashes some more.  Should be interesting at least.
