Shittt, but still not as cool as digitalcoin  Roll Eyes

Hmmm, i'd say DGC barely escapes the CrapCoin category...for now Cool
3582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitsPoker short 0.1BTC raffle 25.06-30.06 on: June 27, 2013, 08:06:42 PM
I bet a Jr. Member will win this - they always do Roll Eyes

Every valid entrant has a number. We'll use random.org to extract the winner. If you'ld like, I can record my desktop.

I'll up the raffle by 0.05 if Kiders agrees if 3 more enter the raffle!

As a question - what approximate time in GMT do you plan to draw the raffle?
3583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN][DNG] DungCoin, the coin you want to s**t! [FORUM-BASED] on: June 27, 2013, 08:03:10 PM
The innovative altcoin of the century year month, DungCoin (DNG) aims to consolidate your CrapCoins into BitCoin, with no need for any messy clients packed with viruses! Now with a 100% better logo:

Release date: 28th June 2013 - 3PM GMT
Downloads needed? NO
Block reward: 1 DNG
Block timer: N/A (see point below)
DungHashes needed to mine a block: 10 DNH/DungHashes
Pre-mine: 5 blocks - 1 DNG for genesis log and 4 DNG for bounties. The genesis DungCoin will be kept by me as a legendary DungCoin.

DungCoin is not just designed to poke fun at all the crappy recent releases - it also has an innovative design.

Blocks are mined using DungHashes and a Proof of Crap method. The hashing algorithm is crap256. Every time a new CrapCoin is released, you can put forward 100 of that CrapCoin (CrapCoins that are supposed to be rare may only require 10 to be put forward) to put a DungHash against the next block. Each block will be mined after 10 DungHashes, like a lottery. The winning DungHashes are pre-determined and hashed with sha256 before hand to prevent cheating. Whoever mines a block successfully will be credited with 1 DungCoin (DNG).

Now, the CrapCoin that is put forward will have two fates:

a) The CrapCoin will die and nothing will happen;
b) It will go onto an exchange.

Once it is on an exchange, anyone who has had a DungHash in a block where the CrapCoin (that is now on the exchange) was used to get a DungHash will be able to put forward a request to sell the CrapCoins for BTC. The format is like this:

Block number you contributed in: #xxx
CrapCoin name: Name of CrapCoin, e.g coins such as RichCoin, Emeralds

On a successful request, the CrapCoins will be dumped at market price, and the BTC proceeds will be put towards backing CrapCoin. This is the beauty. Eventually, by putting CrapCoins in, you will have real BTC that you may not have had before.

You may ask, why don't you just keep the CrapCoins and sell them yourself for BTC? Well, firstly, you may never get enough BTC, and secondly, even if the CrapCoins you put in get sold for BTC, the other CrapCoins you put in may reward you with precious DNG which you'll be able to get more BTC out of. In the end, you get rid of CrapCoins and get BTC - a win-win situation.

What is a CrapCoin? Well, if you can afford to dump 100 of it on here willingly and it's been released in the last month or two, it's probably a CrapCoin. However, I have the final call (making the currency slightly centralized, however the next part may interest you).

Anyone with 10 DNG or above may apply to be a DungCoin treasurer. There can only be 10 DungCoin treasurers at any given time, and ultimately, I will appoint them. DNG backing assets will be held between these treasurers evenly. The treasurer system will come into effect when the backing assets held equal BTC 0.001 or higher. Also, if a CrapCoin is denied by me (i.e declared to not be a CrapCoin), treasurers will be able to challenge this decision. 6 or more votes against the decision will result in the CrapCoin being accepted as a CrapCoin.

DNG transferring will function similarly to systems such as AbstractCoin. The block-chain will be maintained by me in a seperate thread. Transfers will work like this:

NameOfSender[StartBalance] ---> NameOfReceiver[NewBalance] [Sent: SentAmount]
NameOfSender's New Balance: [NewBalance]

E.G if I had 1 DNG and wanted to send .1 DNG to God:

DiamondCardz[1] ---> God[0.1] [Sent: 0.1]
DiamondCardz's New Balance: [0.9]

You may freely trade DNG. Anyone may trade in at least 10001 satoshis worth of DNG to me or a treasurer at any given time to recover the backed funds. Any DNG that is traded in is destroyed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Opinions? xD This turned into a piss-take to a pretty large idea, pretty fast. It could actually work, surprisingly. If this gets good feedback (i.e it's funny, it's a cool idea, it's a piss-take that's well-needed), i'll release it tomorrow Wink

3585  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 81btc on: June 27, 2013, 07:23:16 PM
Hi All,

We've been emailing back and forth with Kris for a bit, his stuff has been slated to go out for a while but due to the mayhem in the precious metals markets combined with all the issues Bitcoin is experiencing as a whole, it's been a little more delayed than we'd like. Regardless, his stuff is all packaged up and will go out with the next shipping batch.

In the mean time, we're still working hard to keep products flowing quickly. Gold and silver both continue to push downwards, with record lows being set continually. As prices drop, demand starts to increase, and at this point the entire PM market is struggling to keep up. We've been taking preventative steps to keep ourselves from being impacted too heavily over the last few months, sinking huge amounts of money into inventory to ensure that orders will flow quickly. Some manufacturers and governments are still having major issues, but as a whole things should run more smoothly in the coming months.

Once again I do need to reiterate that the best way to get in touch if you're having issues is not through here/reddit/etc, but via official channels like email, contact form, or telephone. We have a dedicated support team with efficient channels for resolving any issues that come up, but they do need to be contacted via those mediums I mentioned before in order to help you efficiently.

Thanks,
Jay

You're alive? Hm, surprising. Going to watch this, but the negative rep isn't being taken off until this situation is resolved.

Probably because they were all him =\

What a sad situation

Yeah, it really sucks Undecided Although I know, for instance RavinTavin did legitimately lose 5 BTC, which is terrible. Sad
3589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Journey from .15 btc to a motorcycle (32 btc) via sports betting OVER 1 BTC NOW! on: June 27, 2013, 06:57:53 PM

Omg thats so horrible , on the other hand I feel good about losing 0.277 bitcoin Cheesy Cheesy

How can noone go to court for multi million dollar scam?

I know admins are not reading this but if they are , keeping these type of scammers here without a tag is couraging others to scam. Just give them an IP ban , thats all we ask for. How can someone with 2000$+ scam still log in? Thats horrible.

They don't ban unless they're being very malicious, e.g giving out viruses. You know, "decentralized" structure and all that, as well as the fact that an ex-scammer may pay back BTC one day. Maybe (0.0001% chance) the OP is actually not a scammer.
3590  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoins threads in newbie jail + Altcoins on bitcointalk on: June 27, 2013, 06:55:36 PM
Interesting, how is this fee enforced?

After registration, the forum will give them an address and they'll have to pay. They won't be able to post until they pay. They will be able to use their watchlist, etc.

This just seemed like the easiest way to establish a significant proof-of-work. I thought about having people solve a bunch of CAPTCHAs, but why should I do that when the free bitcoin sites are doing it already? I'll adjust the amount so it'll take someone with zero bitcoins only a few days to gather the bitcoins from faucet sites, and I'll link to some of these sites.

Maybe I'll also allow posting after mod post approval. That's a more difficult feature to add, though.

That seems very fair, especially if it's fully automatic like it seems to be. Just wondering, but what happens to these funds? Are they treated as donations, or advertisement revenue, etc?

Wouldn't this be a problem for people connecting through Tor? Privacy is freedom.

Tor can be abused heavily, though. You can't just remove the fee for Tor addresses.

Mt. Gox is terrible and always will be, why do people still use it? We need a p2p exchange, or else you get shit like this happening.

OP here. Have been away for a while but I see there has been a bit of traffic on the thread.

Still no silver, still no replies to my emails.

I have not messaged theymos. There was a mod involved in the thread earlier on, so I assumed he would already have been aware of it:
I have PM'ed Coinabul regarding this. They're a good and reputable company, and I expect this to be resolved either way amicably so hold your horses guys.
That said, I have no idea how communication between mods works around here so given a mod has now suggested it, I'll do so.

That's bullcrap. I negged him on June 12. If it doesn't show up when someone else looks at it, what's the point of the system?

Edit: Message sent to theymos.

Coinabul has a trust scammer tag now, I neg rep'd him myself.

Coinabul has just made up bullshit and lies, then vanished...
