What in the Holy hell is going on with ripple. All of these alt coins are soaring. Not sure how I can be excited with btc when I see all these others succeeding greater.

Multiminer crashed and it doesn't want to start anymore. OK I built vertminer from source, and the miner seems to be working but the worker in the pools doesn't seem active. I just wanted to post my script so someone more knowledgeable than me could check if everything is correct. I'm running 3 r9 270 cards. #!/bin/bash cd /home/mauricio/vertminer-gpu ./vertminer --scrypt -g 1 -w 256 -I 13 --thread-concurrency 15168 --gpu-fan 40,75,40 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1470 -o stratum+tcp://mine1.coinmine.pl:6350 -u xxxxxx -p x After 10 minutes I still haven't seen my hash rate in the pool yet and I'm doing about 300kh each.

I saw VerticalCoin on the Add Coins list and added it. But when I right click on it, it goes there for a bit and then switches to a different coin without mining. Also, even when VTC is the most profitable coin on CoinWarz MuM does not mine it. Does anyone know how to get MuM mining VTC BTW, I configured 3 VTC pools. TIA I think is because they are scrypt-n and bfgminer doesn't support that algorithm yet. I have vtc and spa coins and it never switches to them. I hope they add support to scrypt-n next update.

I have multiminer checking for straight profitability every 5 minutes from coinwarz, I know when it switches to a different coin it restarts the miner, does it restart every 5 minutes even if it's the same coin? also for the people that use multiminer for multiswitching, do you think coinchoose is a better option than coinwars in terms of profitabilility? I bought 50000 api calls from coinwarz, but I never compared it agains coinchoose which is free.
I'm bumping my post, also adding another question. What do you guys think works better in the long term when mining for profitability average profitability or straight profitability?

I created an account under cosmocoin pool, but I wanted to add another worker for reddcoin. how do you select a specific coin for an specific worker? or is the only way to switch coins manually? because that's the only option I noticed on the webiste. I wanted to use several pools for multiminer with your pools, but it seems it can't do it. Thanks in advance.
From the info that you posted, I read that you want to be able to switch individual workers to specific coins from the web page. If that is correct, currently, I have not found a way to do that either. The coin switching option is tied to the user account only. So when you select a new coin to mine, it switches your workers of your account to the new coin, but only the workers using port 1337. It would be nice to be able to have the option to switch specific workers only. I only have a few scrypt miners, but I have two of them on port 1337 and one of them on the port for a specific coin (SOL port 3385). With this setup of course, I can only use the web page to auto-switch two of the miners. The "SOL" miner has to be changed from the console by me if I want to mine a different coin. OK. I just spent a few minutes to read about multiminer on github and it looks like you can just setup each pool you want to use by their specific ports. At hash.so to see each coins specific port that it uses, select the "Getting Started" link while on that coins pool page. EDIT NOTE: BTW, reddcoin uses port 3371 That's the info I was looking for, because everytime I switch to another pool, the dashboard kept saying port 1337, so I was asking myself how does the server know which coin I'm mining? that's when I noticed inthe corner you have to do it manually. However, if there are different port numbers for each coin then I can do it, but I didn't see that info in the pool. I just noticed after switching to the pool, in the getting started section it shows the port. So in that case I only need one worker, I just need to specify the port number in multiminer for each specific coin. Thanks!

Hi, I was using multiminer for the last couple of days, and for some reason it crashed, and it doesn't start anymore. I'm using multiminer 2.7.1, and ubuntu 13.10 64 bit. This is the output on the terminal ~/multiminer$ mono MultiMiner.Win.exe System.Xml.XmlException: Document element did not appear. I really love this program, it has a lot of potential. I tried it for one week in my two jalapenos, all sha 256 coins from coinwarz, straight profitability, and cryptsy autosell. On average I was earning around 0.005 BTC/day. At bitparking at the current difficulty, I was earning around 0.014 BTC/ DAY, not counting merged mining. Some of the obstacles are the length of time pools take to confirm shares, the time it takes for the exchange to confirm the deposit, selling on time before the value goes down. I'm sure one could make a lot of more BTC with scrypt mining, too bad I don't have the money now to build a nice mining rig. Hopefully cryptsy and the mining pools will get better and faster in the future, and hopefully asic miners will get cheaper to do an upgrade.

I don't know what I was thinking, of course they restart. What do you say about the lower hash rates? Do you think it might be because of the pool servers?
With the new update the hash rates are way lower, it seems like every time it changes pools the miners restart.
Using the new east coast port, returns lower hash rates.
