361  Economy / Economics / Re: To be or not to be. What to invest in? on: August 09, 2018, 08:45:01 PM
If you are the one who fear the bitcoin and its related markets, then I think gold and real estates may be a better option. By the way, the issue with bitcoin is investment is that there is lack of thorough research by the investors. They follow their friends and end up failing and say bitcoin is highly risky, yeah, I know it's risky though.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency is gradually spreading on: August 09, 2018, 05:41:51 PM
The way bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have very high volatility is one of the major reasons why it is still difficult to convince people to fully accept cryptocurrencies as their major investment methods because one's 1000$ may become 10$ in just 4 hours which is very bad to notice. Crypto is spreading and that one of the reasons why the many bad news because they discover it and keep seeing price instability and keep spreading fuds.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: which exchange you usually trade ? on: August 05, 2018, 08:54:52 PM
I liked binance until fcoin and coinexchange emerged. Currently, I trade mostly on those two exchanges and they are really good in terms of transactions and trades. Withdrawal is very smooth for me, i=I have not had any issues yet.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it better to buy during ICO or Market? on: August 05, 2018, 07:43:56 PM
I will say for both. It depends on the period that you choose the invest. if you look to invest in private and presales, then it may be helpful but in crowdsales, it has become a norm to lose your money, I mean less than the price you bought the token.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins BETTER than BITCOIN? on: August 05, 2018, 04:58:13 PM
We all feel like giving the respect to bitcoin and that cannot be under looked. It is normal to see your father as better than you which is not an insult though. We should just accept that bitcoin is better than alts once and keep improving on alts which may one day stand very unique from bitcoin we all see as the best. The current alts have nothing special than bitcoin so I don't see why someone will say alts are better than bitcoin.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should i quit on joining bounty campaign? on: August 05, 2018, 03:45:53 PM
Doing bounty campaigns requires a lot of time and if you are like me who is usually busy, it will go against you. Looking at the way our investments are lost always, it is better to add bounty campaigns to replenish some loses.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do bounty hunters become ICO investors? on: August 04, 2018, 11:47:29 PM
Most often, no. Bounty hunters have in mind they are investing in a project with their time so no need to use their money to invest. This is normal and expected of every bounty hunter but some projects cannot be ignored, you will by all means buy some. This has happened to me more than thrice. I did not plan investing but looking at the way things were going, i had to invest and I did so.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99% OF ALL AIRDROPS ARE SCAMS!!!!! on: August 04, 2018, 10:56:44 PM
I do not actually tag them as scam. I don't know the right term yet but it's more of using members that registers in the airdrop as a bait for investors. When investors see the many retweets, shares and telegram members, it attracts them to invest thinking it has a community support. In the end, they give the participants something less than a cent  Huh
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TIPS to be come victorious in bitcoin on: August 04, 2018, 08:59:18 PM
I like the OP's ideas and advice very much but here is another contradicting advice which is also very necessary:

Quote
I will tell you the secret to getting rich on Wall Street. You try to be greedy when others are fearful. And you try to be fearful when others are greedy.
-Warren Buffet

This quote is constantly bandied about as justification to invest in Bitcoin, and especially now that there has been some nice price movement in the upward direction. But this Warren Buffet quote is only relevant with the proper context, which is that Warren Buffet only invests in things he has a fundamental understanding of and can quantifiably value. You can confidently be greedy when others are fearful if you have a sound investment thesis and are a fundamental value investor. This is how he turns his investments into home runs, he knows what he's buying and what it's worth and can weather the negative sentiment until the market learns what he already knows. This doesn't apply at all to a speculative investment like crypto. Following this advice willy-nilly is gonna get you burned because you're misunderstanding the intent and the application.

Don't not buy Bitcoin if that's what you want to do, but don't fool yourself into thinking you're following Warren Buffet's advice. Warren Buffet doesn't speculate, and if you're buying crypto, you're speculating.

My advice is that both are god but you should know when to apply them.
370  Economy / Economics / Re: How does bitcoin become a currency? on: August 04, 2018, 08:13:58 PM
As a norm, if something is accepted or back by a legal tender to be used as a medium of exchange, it becomes a currency. So for bitcoin to become a currency, it must be signed by some legal bodies and it would be used by those in that jurisdiction because the whole world is not ruled by one person or body. To be accepted worldwide, the different regulatory bodies must come together and sign it.
371  Economy / Economics / Re: Isnt it time to give up cryptocurrency ranking on: August 02, 2018, 10:33:33 PM
You are totally right that market cap is a horrible metric to "rank" cryptocurrencies, as it can be easily manipulated.

But the flawed rankings are caused partly because the ranking services (Coinmarketcap et al.) compare apples to bananas. Above all, because they compare complete blockchain projects with tokens which are created out of thin air, at almost no cost, on an existing blockchain.

For example, I would very much like a ranking service which compares only coins that have:
- an own blockchain (similar to the "Coin" table on CMC)

Coin market cap has this option. You just have to select from the dropdown menu whether you want only coins or all crypto according to their market capitalization. I agree with you though since the first ranking to appear on the site is list of top cryptos and not coins with their own blockchain.
372  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin value on: August 02, 2018, 12:27:11 PM
In any good thing, if there is a hole that can be exploited, people begin to doubt it whether that was the purpose of creating it. the fact that whales manipulate the price of cryptos does not mean that was what it was intended for. It's just a tiny hole in crypto invention that people are exploiting.
373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 1 mln $ possible? on: July 29, 2018, 12:20:10 PM
Bitcoin $1mn is very possible but do not want it to be that way. With the way people are accepting and also the general notion about how profitable it is to hodl bitcoin, the price could reach the said price because more people are coming in and less people are willing to sell their coins.
374  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin bull run begins now? on: July 28, 2018, 10:04:42 PM
the bull run has been initiated as we can see from graphs that it has broken all the resistance. One thing we expected was the influence of the EFT which many crypto analyst suggested that a rejection could see us around the 7Ks again but that isn't what we are experiencing right now. This really proves that the bull run has been initiated and nothing can stop it.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99% OF ALL AIRDROPS ARE SCAMS!!!!! on: July 27, 2018, 09:21:20 PM
I do not bear with you that 99% of airdrops are scams. What I know airdrops to be of is that they are usually used as a bait for investors to trust their social channels. Some are obvious scams though but most are made for the purpose a stated above and not for scamming.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins BETTER than BITCOIN? on: July 25, 2018, 11:59:15 PM
It may be possible but one thing to put in mind is that when it happens, the whole market will go down abruptly as we recognized in this year. People with altcoins are happy with bitcoin leading the market. If another coin takes the lead, people will begin doubting whether that will be the end of crypto so the whales know this and they won't let that happen but they can let it happen. The bad side outweighs the good side this won't happen.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOOD NEWS!!! South Korea on BITCOIN on: July 25, 2018, 10:59:35 PM
Very interesting to hear when government are accepting blockchain technology and its use in their countries. This will indeed help to broaden the way people perceive bitcoin as a cryptocurrency. I totally agree that crypto should be quite regulated in some way and this is what the government is up to.
378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Soon Hit $40,000 as Trading Becomes Easier on: July 22, 2018, 07:26:13 PM
I am just replying you that bitcoin can reach $40000 as easy as was pointed out but easy trading is not what can make BTC price get to this point. It all depends on how people accept and buy more of BTC. If there are more bad news and people trade very well or trading is easier, they'll will sell instead of buying or hodling.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your biggest Financial loss in crypto on: July 22, 2018, 04:26:05 PM
My biggest loss in crypto is investing in bitcoincash. I bought 1BCH at 3900 and I was expecting some good returns but it has since reduced to a price that I do not know what to do but just to hodl and leave it as if I don't have anything called BCH.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you recover from your loss in bitcoin investment? on: July 22, 2018, 02:18:26 PM
Actually, I have not yet recovered from my last year's loss of bitcoin investment and the only thing I am doing at the moment is hodling. I will hodl until I get to the price which will profit me because I know very well BTC price will surpass last year's price.
