361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: March 04, 2024, 08:47:07 PM
Do you prefer games where you know right away whether you've won (or lost) casino style, or do you prefer other games like sports betting? Do you have any other favorite games?

I used to play slots before, but now I just focused more on sports betting, I don't know but I have a string of bad luck playing slot machine and so I just decided to quit and bet on NBA. A have a few wins here and there, but at least I have broken the curse on slots.

And according to pool, it's where most gamblers play here in our community. No surprise though, we have a lot of threads on games and others give tips, shows their analysis and their expertise and then you can either tail them or you as a fan has a different bet, and it's obvious that you have higher chance of winning as compare to luck base games.
362  Economy / Gambling / Re: An open letter to Eddie from Stake with lots of shares on Reddit on: March 03, 2024, 11:45:01 PM
You should have posted the content of the letter in addition to the link. It's already deleted by the OP but I'm guessing based on the replies there that it's about the non-stop advertisement of streamers on Kick causing addiction even among the younger generations. I don't really know what to say since it's a streaming platform that they also own. It will probably take more letters like that before Stake reconsiders.

And I don't think that Stake might consider this. I mean they are in the business of making money, and just like any business, they will aggressively promote it. How many of us when we are little used to take a job to give flyers in the street because we are hired by someone to let others known about their business? This is pre-internet and social media.

But now that we are in this age wherein everyone can be put online including ads and promotions, I think this company will take advantage of it. Same with that streaming platform, again they are being paid by Stake or whatever casino it is to promote it to their platform and so obviously they will have to take that money.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 03, 2024, 11:19:27 PM
The Celtics are absolutely blowing GSW away. 82 points for Celtics in 1st half while the Warriors just managed 38. 82-38 half time score. Is there any chance for Warriors to make a comeback?  Would be an epic comeback, one for the ages, if it does happen. Highly unlikely though. Curry has only 4 points in the first half.

This is a tough lost for the Warriors, they have been in a comeback as of late and trying to position themselves in 6th-8th spot and trying to avoid the play-in. And as I check the score, Curry didn't even manage to score in double digits. I think this is the second time this season that he failed to do that.

And it's really hard to see which team can defeat the Celtics at this point. There seems to be no loophole in their game, Tatum and Brown, the best 1-2 player, and then Drew and KP playing like they need to proved something from their previous teams that trade them.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 02, 2024, 08:05:12 AM
^^ Two fighters have been mentioned, earlier it was Charlo, but when Charlo get out of PBC, it's not Berlanga and Munguia. And I think it both of those fights, this May and September, Canelo will emerge victorious. Those two fighters are still very young and no experience or tools to beat Canelo at this point although we can say that Canelo is slowing down and cherry picking his opponents now.

Benavidez is moving up in weight at 175 lbs and will not wait for Canelo this year.

As for Dave Apolinario of the Philippines, he almost suffered a lost there when he was knock down. His lucky that his opponent doesn't have that much power to really knock him out for good or he has recuperating power from a knock down.
365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 02, 2024, 07:12:32 AM
Warriors again winning on the road and the typical way they win, in the 3rd quarter. It was very close match in the first half.

But as the start of the 3rd quarter, every one was contributing. Moody taking the advantage of his starting five to show his talent as Andrew Wiggins is not in the game again for personal reason. Bad to hear that Barnes hand is injured, you can see that he goes directly to the dugout of the team and never come back after that. So the Warriors still has the momentum in their last 10 games.
366  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont sell because you feel like selling, give it another thought. on: March 01, 2024, 09:01:18 AM
Yes, I will say it again and again! Don't sell because you want to sell, or maybe others are selling, and if you feel you have made some profit, then you must sell. My dear, give it a second thought. If you don't have a genuine reason for selling, like a deep need for money, or if you want to sell to buy luxurious things when you know that the price of bitcoin has more potential than what it has shown,.

My rule of thumb is, sell if necessary, not just to make profits, but sell when you really need to. Maybe there something important that you need money and regardless of what the market is going to, you have to do it because of emergency.

I am not against anyone selling since; a lot of people who had hodl made lots of profit during this period. What I am trying to say is, if you have no significant need for the money, there is no point in selling it. If your income is enough for you and other expenses, you can continue to buy more bitcoin so that your portfolio will be massive. It should be about how much bitcoin you have, not how many dollars of bitcoin you are holding.

That's what I'm trying to say, two years ago, there was a emergency in our family. I don't have a choice back then, as I was slowly accumulating that time. But you have to make the judgement and decision, and so I did and I don't regret it by this time. I just continue to accumulate at my own phase even if we are in the bull run already, I keep on pushing and accumulating sats.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and people knowledge on: March 01, 2024, 08:48:36 AM
People say that they don't know what is the btc and there is no clear story for them to trust btc.
But the same people don't know what is the money and how it's created and they are collateral or some type of security body by themselfes.
For the first time I know what's bitcoin I did not believe what's bitcoin until I began to understand that bitcoin is not a scam and it can be trusted, sometimes we have to invest in bitcoin and remove our eye on it, specially when we are on long-term investment, because it's obvious that cryptocurrency is all about understanding, many people have to millionaires and billionaire through bitcoin immediately they remove fear in cryptocurrency in question, we have to know such, you can make money through bitcoin when you research of bitcoin and it's investment.
It's true that many people have to overcome their initial skepticism and fear to really understand the value of bitcoin and see its potential as an investment. And for those who do take the time to learn about it and invest, there is the potential to make a lot of money. But with that potential comes risk, and not everyone will be successful. And this is the exact reason why it's advised for people who are interested in Bitcoin to first learn about it and equip themselves with the required knowledge about Bitcoin to avoid making rational and ignorant mistakes that'll cost you your funds, mistakes that would've been easily avoided if only you took time to study about Bitcoin and the best investment technique to employ.

I don't know if you will not be successful in bitcoin investment. I mean if you do your homework, like a simply buy and hold, then most likely you will make a lot of profits. Of course, it will take a lot of time, because the best strategy is to buy during the bear market and then continue it and wait till the block halving, as it it the catalyst for a bull run and time when we are in the bull run and about to reach all time high.

So it's not that easy, it will take years to do it (investing on bear market, 2022-2023), and this year and the next year is the bull run. So that is a lot of time for the majority and perhaps for them they don't have the patience to stay that long and make a lot of sacrifices.
368  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: March 01, 2024, 05:11:13 AM
So gamblers should be more care with whatever they see online most ads are just created to over hype the casino. And after watching them one could feel he has seen an easy gambling casino to lots of win. The earlier you take gambling as a fun activity the better for you not to become addicted or disappointed with whatever you see around. It difficult to keep your gambling activity secret especially if you like using a casino gambling hall to place your bets.
We should always do things that will help us to stay safe while gambling to make money. The aim could be for money making but we should always observe when we are doing the wrong thing. Gambling can be very addictive and with some bad habit if we don't think we and do something that would help us to relinquish from such habit. We can easily get bad habit but it is very hard for us to get good habit because it can be pain for us trying to the right thing so we don't end up a miscreant. We have the responsibility to keep our gambling lifestyle from the public of it going to affect our image in a wrong way.

Gambling is wrong in the beginning, and even if we hide it, sooner or later we will make that one mistakes and we will exposed our secrets to anyone. So it could be very bad for you, or they will accept you as who you are, no question about it.

But there are personalities that needed to protect themselves from the public eye. For sure we all know who this people are. For ordinary gamblers, maybe we will be frown upon in work if our co-workers find out that we are into gambling. But perhaps there are also others who's into it. Personally, when I was working, there is no secret, on the other hand, me and my mates will gamble after office hours, specially Friday night or during pay-day.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Reymart Gaballo WBO Bantamweight Title (May 12) on: March 01, 2024, 04:18:32 AM
..it's like a stigma that Australia has been biased but I do not think that is the case anymore.

We should not focus on Australia itself but on the judges assigned to the fight. The selected judges in a big fight always came from different countries. It's not the country but the politics behind the fight that has the power to influence the judge's decision.

I'm sure that even if this fight between Gaballo and Moloney is held in the latter's home country, the possible manipulation is because of the politics and not on the country, Australia. I don't even see it as an advantage for Moloney that it will be held in his country. He is far from his prime and even in his prime, he didn't face fierce boxers in the bantamweight.

Moloney's advantage is experienced being a veteran in bantamweight. But that advantage won't be effective if his body won't able to keep to a much younger and quicker Reymart Gaballo who is much hungry to taste a big title and is currently a rising star.

But there could be influence on the judges itself from Australia or some entity within the country to make a bias judgement. I'm sure you have seen the Manny Pacquaio vs Jeff Horn fight and almost everyone here thinks that Manny won and that the judges favor Jeff Horn because the fight is made in Australia. So we should take notice of it specially if the fight lasted that 12 rounds and we really don't know who wins.

That's why it is advisable for Gaballo to really dominate this fight early on and not give Moloney the confidence to go full 12 rounds as it's very dangerous that Gaballo is going to lose on the scorecard of the judges.
370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 01, 2024, 03:03:02 AM
Warriors are hot, they just beat the Knicks at MSG, Steph the high man with 31 points including 8 shots from the three point arc. It seems that it's a different Warrior now at the second half of the season. They are now complete with CP3 back in the game, although it was Wiggins who are out in this game.

Still in the 10th position in the Western Conference, but anything goes here. Lakers are also trying to break in the top 8 of the standings.

So it will be good competition down the stretch for the playoff and play-in in this conference.
371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dormant PyPI Package: Deploying NovaSentinel Crypto Stealer on: February 29, 2024, 12:37:46 PM
At least it has been taken down already, although damage has been done obviously.

This criminals are not going to stop and will always find a way to insert their malware to even a unsuspecting PyPi package. And even if it is open source, we shouldn't trust anything but we have to verify.

And just imagine if they can insert it to a more popular PyPi package, it could be disastrous as many will fall for it and losing their crypto to this online criminals.
372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: February 29, 2024, 09:23:10 AM
This brings us to the future of gambling and where it looks to be headed. With this new VR technnology from Apple and Meta and other competitors getting in the game it is only a matter of time until everyone offers the "Apple VR experience in retail and online" Or the Meta, take your pick. I just can't wait to see more of that evolution, and I already know its here I just don't know who does it because i'm not the gambler my grandfather was albeit I do like a good gamble here or there  Wink

It will be very interesting when we gamble with online access from anywhere but can play on a virtual horse racing track or at an online betting table with other players virtually with the help of technological advances in the future. everyone with technological advances today is talking about VR and its growth in the casino industry will of course be eagerly awaited and very interesting.

What do you mean? you yourself becoming a jockey? I'm not really sure about it as they will really go against the basic rule of horse racing. Sorry, but I'm not into it. But for games like baccarat or black jack, yeah why not, but for sure there will be gamblers who still go to play with human interaction.

But I do agree that there are pros and cons in every technology, and we really don't know how to react until we are there. Again, perhaps one bad effect is social isolation, or maybe it will give individual motion sickness. So it should be practice with care just like any thing. But in gambling, we've seen addicted gamblers like playing almost 12-24 hours, so if you are playing using VR it will definitely have a negative health effect.
373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 29, 2024, 08:39:01 AM
What a comeback by the Lakers to beat their rival in Clippers.

Yep! the battle of LA never seize to amaze me. I thought the game was done when the Clipps lead 21 pts in the 4th. Lucky, I didn't left closed the live streaming because I still had a little hope for a comeback as LeBron was hitting 3s early in the 4th and are heating up, that actually gave me a thought of a comeback if he'd lead his team and take over offensively, which eventually he did. Not only that, he was also guarding Kawhi effectively.
Impressive and a much needed win for the Lakers as they have like 5-6 games against top teams in the West and a couple in the East in their next 10 games. They must need to win 80-90% of these games, otherwise it would be harder for them to come back and try to sneak in the 8 seed.
The Kings sits on the 8th seed currently which is way ahead of the Lakers who needs to win at least 5-6 consecutively, considering the Kings may lose some of the games they have ahead.

The Lakers outscoring the Clippers by 23 points in the fourth quarter to complete a massive comeback was a sight to see. The battle of Los Angeles indeed did not disappoint. LeBron had a great night with 34 point but I think the difference in the game was that Paul George did not play with an injury. Otherwise this game might have gone the other way.

I think the Clippers have proved that they can win without Paul George though, so I wouldn't say that his absence is not the factor here. They even built a 21 point advantage and Lakers looking to lose this one already. But the Lakers specially Lebron doesn't want to lose this game, one of his best game so far. And he shows his basketball IQ here, and he goes where he wants, force a switch with Theis and then take advantage of the big guy to either shot or pass the ball to Rui.

And most likely it's the pride itself, of Lebron, taking matters in own hand, enjoying the one on one with Kawhi. It was a great play by the Clippers in the last 9 seconds, perfect execution it's that Kawhi missed his favorite mid jumper, probably has to do with Lebron's defense on him.
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a crypto bubble? Is a possible correction coming soon? on: February 29, 2024, 05:46:20 AM
Isn't it Bitcoin market is always on a bubble specially if we are fast approaching the Halving?

So yeah, there has been speculation already that after the bubble has been burst, we might see a huge dip, 35%-40%. So that is a big dump if that happens in the market right now. Maybe others have taking profits already with it touches $62k, or perhaps still holding as what we preach.

Very difficult to say, but if a correction had to happen before the halving, it could be just around the corner. So no new ATH before the halving as others might have been looking for this cycle.
375  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new ATH before halving. Is it possible? on: February 29, 2024, 05:10:31 AM
Without a technological knowledge I would say it is impossible. The Possibilities of the ATH to come before Halving is like reciting A,C,B,D,E instead of A,B,C,D,E and yet you claims they are in alphabetical order. However, the halving is a a promising to the ATH that is to say the more values that has the Halving is the more values the ATH would have at it own time.
The ATH of this time bull-run would feel unbeatable in history and in the closet future but let's not panic. Bitcoin is a reputable crypto currency which has the potentials of uprising without a compromise of its valuable potentials.

I don't understand what you mean by technical knowledge, so don't need to be a rocket scientist to see what is going on right now, this month alone 40% increased. In the last 24 hours, 10% uptick.

So you just need to put your money that it's going to happen sooner or later that we will see a new ATH.

This will be the first though, if it happen before the halving as usually we will have a dump before that activity. But this year and this bull run, it's a very different mindset and positive vibes from everyone.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 28, 2024, 08:29:42 PM
^^ What is David Benavidez leaves PBC and join Eddie Hearn and DAZN just to chase Canelo? Similar to what GGG did just to get his fight with Canelo back then?

It's not about the money, Canelo was offered as per reports,

$45 Million for Charlo
$55 Million for Spence at 164 lbs
$65 Million for Benavidez

Maybe this is his and Eddie Hearn plans after all, feel sorry for Tom Brown and the PBC for falling for Canelo's trickery here.

That's a purse a boxer could not resist, so I'm wondering why Canelo has choosed the lowest purse.

Canelo vs Jermall Charlo 4th May 2024 in Las Vegas
|This is already confirmed, right?

People would be more interesting if he'll choose to fight a boxer that could give him a decent challenge. If the fans would choose, for sure they'll want Benavidez for him, so not only he'll cash out a huge paycheck but it would also lift his legacy more if he wins.

Not sure about that as there are news that Canelo has cut ties with PBC after just 1 fight on this contract. Maybe it includes that he can go out if he doesn't want the fight that he is being offered by PBC.

And we thought that he will be fighting David Benavidez, and that's what PBC wanted for him. But he says no, and with that he might be looking for Berlanga and work with Match Room boxing. But let's hear it from them as for sure they will make it official in the next following days.
377  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: February 28, 2024, 05:24:02 PM
If we finds pleasure in gambling every day, then why not go ahead, this is nothing than a form of getting entertained during the leisure time, we needed to have fun and there's no limit to how we can get expose to this as long as we can afford to, some make use of gambling as the only means to wave away their stress from their busy busy schedules, some do that to engage themselves with other fellow gamblers for having fun, we need to be happy every day, be in excitement mode, feel relaxed and be cheerful when we had our day being filled with gambling activities.

It's very different though if we are playing everyday and then losing money. There will be a time that we can't afford to lose it any more and so the fun and entertainment will stop and what we think is to chase that loses and we all know how bad it is mentally for gamblers.

So for me it's not going to be healthy in the long run, not just the money, but the psychological effect on us. There could be wild emotions, we feel depressed if we lose and we not might function because of our gambling everyday, just saying.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 28, 2024, 05:02:58 PM
Have you seen Josh Hart's bloodied nose after getting hit by Zion? Watch it here if you haven't seen it https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YiH7TP7hGxA

They guy was understandably mad at the ref when no foul was called. Nobody wants to be at the receiving end of that but it's clear that Zion got the ball first and then hit his face.

Zion is huge, he is a freak and we have seen that even in his high school days. It's too bad that Josh Hart was hit in the nose but I don't think it's intentional on the part of Zion as he is attempting to block the shot.

Luka Doncic has another monster game against the Cavs with 45 points and and 14 assists and just 1 shy of a rebound for another triple double.

But they have lost to the Cavs here.
379  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC above $53k on: February 27, 2024, 11:47:33 AM
I have read often times that price of BTC usually dump before the halving and pick up after halving but it's looking as if there is going to be an exception to this rule this year now that Bitcoin ETF has already been approved and lots of instructional buying going on.

With BTC constantly going up and as we approach March I'm just few days? Do you think we are going to see any major corrections before the halving?
We still have almost 2 months until the halving event, don't rush to rejoice and sleep in victory when you see bitcoin increasing in price and hitting the $57k today. Everything is possible and bitcoin always surprises us, if it can make us extremely excited it can also disappoint us. Personally, I will be more cautious at this point, I will always have a backup plan if things suddenly reverse. Furthermore, the halving does not mean that bitcoin will never decrease, there is no guarantee of that. Don't forget previous cycles, the bull season took place 6 months or a year after the halving ended.

I don't also considers anything that is not after the $69,000 market price of bitcoin as bullrun, we are still warming up for now, it may not be as immediately as we have the halving circle for the year 2024 we are likely to experience the bullrun, it may be towards the end of the year or early 2025, we are likely to still have more dips as after the halving below $69,000 and later we started to experience some new all time highs till we get to the peak of this experience.

Technically you might be right, bull run starts right after the halving event. Nevertheless, if you look at the lowest low for this bear market, it's $15,500. So we have been like 200%++ already since that price level.

Right now, price are still continuing to increase to $56k, and maybe at the end of the end, we might go and see $57k.

So that is huge already as we are still in the pre-halving but investors are already very bullish about it.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: February 27, 2024, 09:03:28 AM
Also the rate at which women are now picking interes in gambling is so alarming, there are a good number of female punters on the media with good fanbase and they give good betting advice, we all know that gambling does guarantee 100% success but if you follow their predictions you could get atleast 60 to 70% chances of winning the bet. That's to tell you how well women are now involving in gambling and as time passes there's a tendency for more women to indulge in it as well, since the social media have made gambling more popular and the fact that it involves sporting activities makes that more possible.

I don't see it alarming though, and isn't it that women is asking for equality? So definitely, gambling could be one area wherein they can excel as men do like in sports betting or even games in the table. You can see that some of them are in poker tournaments and could be winning huge amount of money already.

And if you go to traditional based casinos, you will see a lot of women playing. And so for me, I'm not surprised, even in other sectors or industry there are women already. So we shouldn't blame social media for it, gambling is here and it doesn't take a lot of time for women to get their hands on it.
