361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which of the current ICOs do you think will perform best in 2018? on: November 06, 2017, 06:51:53 PM
No one knows. It's hard to gauge the market as everyone is just speculating and most of value are increased rampant by pump and dump schemes.
Will stick to the big ones to ensure no big losses. Probably speculate with 20% of my portfolio still to capture some value.

Still with regards to your question, might be ARDOR, they are launching this December, might see some spike in value then for Q1 next year.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum heading to the moon? Speculation Thread on: November 06, 2017, 06:47:43 PM
Have read an article though why ETH might have issues rising in value long term.
It is because GAS/GWEI prices are tied up to ETH that the rise of value of tokens have some detrimental impact to the costs (making it rise).
This in turn depresses the value of ETH. With more token sales, the network prices should also go up which in turn will stagnate the value of ETH.

Though, I still believe that the dev team will take that into account in the next upgrades.  Cool
363  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SCAM experiences on: November 06, 2017, 06:43:21 PM
Scam experience ko is sa online mining. Naginvest ako maliit na halaga lang, tinry ko kung babalik pera ko.
Malas ko kasi nagsara agad yung website, so nganga.

Payo ko lang, ingat ingat sa mga dubious na site. Stick na lang mag-invest sa Bitcoin.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Recommended 20k USD Long Term Portfolio (3-5 yrs.) on: November 06, 2017, 06:41:21 PM
Thanks for all your replies, some where very helpful !

Some altcoins that have been mentioned have been on my watchlist as well like STRAT, OMG, WAVES...

I'm sure XMR and ZEC are also nice to invest, but I don't wanna change some parts of my 80% BTC/ETH/LTC portfolio to them.
Smaller cap coin portfolio should stay around 20%, I think I'll mix it up like this :

50 % BTC
15 % ETH
15 % LTC

5 % IOTA
4 % NEO
4 % STRAT
3 % WAVES
2 % OMG
2 % QTUM

I took out XRP and XVG, I'm anyway not really sure about the future of these coins.
I still believe IOTA with their blockchain-free tangle technology will be successful.

Good choices, was thinking of 50% to the big 3 (BTC, ETH and LTC (as hedge)).
50% to altcoins - I'm a risk taker  Cool

10% NEO
10% WAVES
10% OMG
10% ARDOR
10% some other coin (still thinking on which small cap coin)
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks and Bitcoin on: November 06, 2017, 06:31:56 PM
Banks and Bitcoin can co-exist, as banks have been here for centuries already.
Bitcoin though will cannibalize some functions of the banks as blockchains are the future for trust less institutions.

Further laws and regulations will speed up adoption in the mainstream of bitcoin, hopefully governments will implement.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Online exchanges that don't require ID? on: November 04, 2017, 04:48:59 AM
The exchanges I know and uses are Changelly, Shapeshift as they do not have high fees.
Pretty fast also.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum the Best Long-Term Cryptocurrency...? on: November 03, 2017, 06:12:29 PM
There are a lot of new competition for ETH. Hopefully, devs can successfully implement the development plans next year (POS.. etc)
Will be holding on my ETH for now and bulk up on my holdings on it.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin can go to $100 next year? on: November 03, 2017, 05:51:29 PM
In my opinion NEO will be the at 100$ in 2018. Its starting to have icos that u can join with neo so that makes it interesting.

Looking into buying some NEOs, what ICOs are currently working with them?

Potential coins for me are:

Waves
NEO
XMR
LTC
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Calm the F $%K Down People, Lets Help The NOOBs Out. on: November 03, 2017, 05:48:25 PM
Get your finger off the sell button.

Bitcoin is going parabolic (I said it would hit 10k mid Jan in Aug.... I still see that happening)

And thats the reason for the alts dropping. There is an influx of "new money" into Bitcoin, partially because of the fork, mainly because their are BIG institutional investors that are taking positions.

Since the announcement that BTC futures will be traded many people have taken that as a sign that reads "Bitcoin is real!" -Love Wallstreet

This is a double edged sword.

We are going to see 10k BTC within 90 days.   I also foresee 50k by years end.   You can't underestimate what the news of BTC futures means to the entire market.   I know for a fact that there will be some billion, dollar buys of BTC in the next 6 months.

Some of this will come from hedge funds some banks.

Also China WILL be back in the mix in late Feb.   They are currently in a political space that is slowing the prices down,  however ICO and more importantly, exchange regulation and legislation is on the table and going through the steps for inclusion/ adoption.

This all equates to FUD on BTC.  Please stop worrying. The longer you have been in this game the less we worry.

Bitcoins, alts, even stocks go through cycles.  Put 50% of your money into Bitcoin and find some good long term Alts and then sit on your hands.

Alts like ARK, OMG, WAVES, NEO, WTC.... They have great teams,  provide a solid roadmap and have real world applications that will fundamentally change things within the ecosystem.

This is the time to rejoice! It's time to buy at 10,20,60% off your favorite alt!

Stop stressing out,  and for Gods sake dont sell alts low to buy Bitcoin at ATH.

Repeat after me.

HoDL

Cheers

Buying up some more altcoins at discounts. Holding some 50% BTC and ETH on my portfolio.
Looking into the news, seems bitcoin is always in the news nowadays.

Seems altcoins recovering already.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH falling on: November 03, 2017, 05:28:41 PM
ETH now recovering. The current hype around bitcoin (forks) have reduced the value but still seeing a good upside for ETH value to somewhat improve before the end of the year.
Next year should be a good year for cryptos. (Further acceptance in the mainstream economies of countries)
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] GoNetwork ICO - Winner of ETHWaterloo - World's Largest ETH Hackathon! on: November 03, 2017, 05:26:00 PM
Looking forward to the crowdsale on November 20.
Seems a good project with lots of potential. I am a gamer so I'm excited for your success.

Good luck!
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH falling on: November 02, 2017, 03:16:06 PM
Just wait and see until POS is activated. ETH I believe has more upside potential.
Will buy more if it still goes down below 250.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 5 crypto currencies to invest in 2018 on: November 02, 2017, 08:29:39 AM
Mine is:

1. BTC
2. ETH
3. NEO
4. BCC
5. LTC
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is "Money Out of Thin Air"? on: November 02, 2017, 07:28:57 AM
Central banks just print money also.
Bitcoin mining(creation) is currently gulping up vast amounts of electricity just to create.
There is some intrinsic value in its creation.
375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the risk of holding Bitcoin? on: November 01, 2017, 02:07:09 AM
Risks I can think of:

1. Risk will be coming from government hard handed regulation (banning bitcoin and other cryptos).
2. Rise of a new and better crypto than Bitcoin.
3. Too much forks that in the end diffuses bitcoin value.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government regulation of bitcoin on: October 31, 2017, 09:44:03 AM
Regulation will be good in the long run as it brings more legitimacy to bitcoin usage.
Dubai seems keen on implementing blockchain to start.
377  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-30]Economist: Central bank-issued digital currency is the future on: October 30, 2017, 06:26:50 PM
Interviewed is still living in the past. Centralized systems are prone to power abuse (see GFC) of those who are trusted.

Decentralized currencies are the future and will usher better wealth distribution and opportunities to all people.
Proper regulation of the governments should be applied to further strengthen it.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet easy to use? on: October 29, 2017, 11:19:36 AM
I am currently using myetherwallet for storing ETH and other ERC20 tokens from ICOs.

For bitcoin, heard coinbase is good.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves vs Ripple on: October 29, 2017, 11:17:50 AM
Waves have a lot of potential value in the long. Adoption will surely drive it value more.

Not sure with Ripple though, seems it will be just controlled by the big banks, which is counter to decentralization espoused by Bitcoin.

Centra ctr (debit card) is not a scam,so dont create fud unnecessary.they have launced the app and go to do worldwide card shipping for contributor.many influencal people say btc is a scam so it becomes scam? Cheesy ,so dont go on saying unnecessary thing if you dont have proof to back up.
Second, waves is currently most underrated coin, it has the highest potential to grow at the same level of ethereum.

What makes Waves an underrated coin? I am not particularly sure on the project yet.

Currently looking on other altcoins. Maybe NEO or Walton.
