I have a 1,000W Gold Silent Pro Cooler Master PSU.
In my rig I have:
Core i7 W3520 overclocked to 4ghz
6990
3x 2GB DDR3 RAM
X58 Classified EVGA mobo
3x 2TB WD Green Hard drives
2x OCZ Vertex SSDs
1x Bluray rdrive
1x Swiftech M660 pump
8x 120mm fans
3x CCFLs
Is there any chance I can run a 6990 and a 4870x2 on this single PSU? Or am I going to blow the whole thing up?
No, on the hardware comparison it says a 6990 uses like 450w when mining + all the other stuff you have it's a definite no. |

Hey guys, I'm kind of new to bitcoin but I had to swap out motherboards and I backed up my wallet.dat and restored it on this computer. However my bitcoins are now 0/unconfirmed and I have left bitcoin.exe running all night. Is there anything else I have to do or should I just let it run longer? I have 137856 blocks.
If you've sent them, you have to wait for your blockchain files to catch up, currently we are at block 139306, so you will have to wait a while, but once you have all the current blocks, your transactions will get confirmed. If you don't have any network connections, try adding some fallback nodes. |

I am planning on running two more 5830's in the computer I have a 6850 with in now. Will there be any problems with that configuration if my 5830's only mine and how can i install opencl 2.4 on 6850 but 2.1 on 5830's?
Nope, and afaik you can only install 1 SDK, and you have 2 5830's so I would install 2.1. Also make sure your PSU is large enough to handle 3 GPU's at once. |

So I want to give this a shot, theres sooooo much stuff here. I read a lot of guides. Was hoping anyone with a 5770 can chime in (Hawx Edition). What is the most optimized setup for a single 5770? I don't want to pool, just solo mine.
Would I be able to throw in a 4770 as well and mine with both?
GUI version would be nice, however I can work command line if that would be more efficient. Running Windows 7 32bit with AMD 11.7 drivers. Any help is greatly appreciated, I already read a lot of guides. I just want to find one tailored to a 5770 for best performance.
Guminer to slush or deepbit for the 5770, I doubt as if 4770 will do anything much, but test it, if more than 50Mhs then run it too. Best of luck! It defs won't be more than 50, i have a 5470 i used to mine with and it only got 16mh/s. |

I have a 5850 and a 5830 working in a system with out a crossfire bridge and with out dummy plugs. The 5850 does have a monitor connected though as I still use the system for other tasks. Using the beta version 11.8 for windows 7 64. I did not have to "Create a dummy monitor" either in display properties.
The 5850 gets 325 MHash/s and the 830 gets 315 MHash/s.
The pools I have been to have been receiving my shares so everything seems to be working just fine. This also work with driver 11.7 for me.
Shouldn't you be seeing 400+ MH/s out of that '50? I wish except its a crappy version of a xfx and it has no voltage control max overclock is 810 on the core  Awaiting for a new sapphire xtreme 5850 see what that one does. lol, you can still overclock past 810 if you enable unofficial overclocking. Also @OP, it should work if your using 11.7 or 11.6b without dummies. |

The NSA, oh nevermind they already have their own tables.
I'm very interested since it's my job to be interested but the requirement to have a 50TB device just to house the tables required to solve a 16 character password not to mention the CPU/Bandwidth requirements to still process that amount of data against a password is something only the folks with unlimited budgets are able to buy into, as in those folks in DC or just outside it in VA.
It does or should make you wonder how long it would take the NSA to actually crack those 16+ character passwords as you know they surely have their own tables, most likely stored on some form of SSD and able to cluster the attack using multiple systems polling those tables.
But aren't these tables sort of useless? I mean, If a website decides that the salt is: "websitename.com"+128 characters, your 50TB of data is completely worthless. You have to brute force it again... +1 |

Hey, I feel odd about asking this - but MyBitCoin ate my .001 BTC. I want to show off Bitcoin to some friends, so I got a bitlet from the faucet and recieved it just fine in the online wallet. Unfortunately, when I then tried to send it to the wallet on my computer, it vaporized - so I've already used up the one time faucet coin, and my computer's wallet is still empty - so I can't pass a coin between computers for demonstration purposes... Soo.. If anyone could help out a geek with something like a dime (whatever amount I can split up and move around a few times without being a transaction fee making it go poof - I dunno a quarter perhaps?) The problem as I understand it in using such large tables is even though you have the table and it's clearly faster than running a brute force it still takes an extremely long time to run a password against such a table that it's just not worth it. It would depend on the need for the password I guess and your objective.
I am glad I use a password that exceeds 16 characters though as it's clear in the long term GPU hashing attacks will make short passwords extremely vulnerable.
+1. Even alphanumeric passwords longer than 9 characters are safe. |

Yeah my stale rate has jumped up a bit Yeah, sorry, it's being looked into, meanwhile I suggest you use cgminer, it detects new blocks even before longpolls And just so everyone can see again. You are being paid for invalid shares aswell until we get this sorted. Guess that little dropout there was to fix the issue ? .. stales seem to be back where they were .. Yeah sorry, I fixed the issue but it wouldn't take till restart. Everything should be working now Seem to be creeping up again ... Can you jump on chat? |
