361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MaskCoin and MaskNetwork on: June 20, 2014, 11:53:45 PM
I don't understand how it is distributed.

Who gets the other 95,000,000 coins to start?

Also don't get why in POS coins those already having coins get so much interest  Huh

No one... some will be available for you to buy... the rest will go the stakeholders "mainly" in the form of interest. Whatever mainly means.

And this isn't decentralized! It's 100% centralized! A beautiful interface that's going to start wave 4, is it? Now we'll be telling everyone that's okay to become a corporation... we don't give a hoot about preventing shit like that anyway, right? Offer a store where I pay you to advertise (well, can't imagine many joe's in this camp will be able to afford prime placement, no fair).... how about a service to "rent" vanity addresses? Are you going to auto bill my wallet every month? What happens to my coins if I can't pay my bill and someone else gets my vanity name and my sister sent me some coins? But I shouldn't be worried... if I don't want my coins, I can trade them in (to you) for good old fashioned gold. This isn't innovation.

Who's benefits? No one except 'stakeholders'. It's just sad that most won't recognize until the scene changes. Appearances. Ok, I admit... this launch might be a good thing somewhat, in setting a higher standard for these scam coins (and that would be based mostly on esthetics; these idiots here are easily fooled)  ... But I hope you know what you're doing - this is dangerous ground for the whole crypto world as it stands today. Hell, maybe MaskCoin's silver standard coin might offer miners a steady paycheck or something to mine coins that never reach their wallet until payday.

And I'm just a nobody... I don't have a failed coin or anything, not my issue with this coin. It's the disguise.

The jig's been up with crop circles for a long time!

I have only came across many and many of the conspiracy theories and no concrete proof / evidence that exposes the real truth.

Any links to clear my head?

lol, I wish I did - otherwise I wouldn't still be awake right now Tongue  If anything it'll only make your head spin. Seriously. Lots of puzzle pieces with no connecting parts... at least until you make that connection (I believe it's called enlightenment, if you will). It's why most reject it (acceptance is easier), and most idiot savants go crazy (even the most brilliant don't handle it well). Dank might be on the koo koo side with his ramblings, but usually there's a message that maybe one day you'll come to appreciate. But if you're serious about this... I'll start you off with the basics. The universal language that even our alien visitors would be able to decipher... the seed of life. This isn't going to be a quick wikipedia read; I'd probably start with youtube. And after that blows your mind, come back for more when the smoke clears. Smiley

My advice to you is to not touch your computer starting now.

You can visit a Best Buy or other computer store and they may be abel to recover your wallet.dat file

Concur - partially. Please don't go to Best Buy... you might as well hire a student.

You can actually do this yourself - it's windows after wall Smiley There's light at the end of the tunnel.

I use the SG miner, which mentioned in OP.

Hmm... I only have the sph-sgminer. That's my problem.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIDEN | 1st Coin to use sCrypt-OG (GPU Optimized) [Bidcoind.com Auctions] on: June 19, 2014, 06:40:31 AM

I add "rpcconnect=127.0.0.1" and "rpcport=4560" and in aiden.conf file and change pool address to "-o 127.0.0.1:4560 -u <rpcuser> -p <rpcpassword>" in start.bat file. <rpcuser> and <rpcpassword> come from aiden.conf of course.

But It seems the Minebig pool on right blockchain yet. You can try it.

Edit: Minebig down...

Thanks... I suspect it has something to do with ogminer not liking my settings. I could get it start without using nfactor 6 but would get excessive hardware errors Sad  Also I'm hosting a P2Pool, so 127.0.0.1 just sends me to my p2p node. Speaking of which... my server's up and running in safe mode altcoinp2pmining.com:9405. Hopefully it'll just kick on first thing in the morning.

Alien invasion? I'll ask them to mine some bitcoin with their amazing technologies!

How do you know they have amazing technologies?
We might be much smarter than them...

You need more than Amazing technologies to travel lightyears in space. The fact that there is no other civilization in Solar system they must came from other solar system. Most likely they came from more than 22 light years from Earth. Because Alpha Centauri System most possibly can't support life.

Do you know how take it takes to make interstellar travel. The civilization technology must be Level II type while today we are still not a Level I civilization. They will be superior in almost every aspects to us. They have to the ability to control weather like rain, drought, hurricane, global warming, cause or prevent earthquakes, they can terraform a planet. There is a big possibility they achieve singularity with the machines. They are near immortal.

How we defeat that kind of enemy. Our only choice is to hide underground and wait for the right moment and learn their technology and find their weakness then defeat them.

We call entities such as those, gods. Wink

Don't read below if you're scared of the cold hard truth:

Aliens have already invaded.  They work with the government and I have seen one in a government impala which cut off the road in front of me and showed itself to me.

Go ahead, call me crazy.  You can never change what I saw for my own eyes.  My friend saw the car roll by too.

I believe you.

Otherwise how does someone explain Crop Circles?  Roll Eyes

Oh come on... you could've done better than that. The jig's been up with crop circles for a long time! lol

But here's something to think about... you think this is the first time we've made it to this level of intelligence? Hell, we don't even know what year we're really in yet civilizations 5k plus ago still blows our mind. That's because The Day The Earth Stood Still taught us that all man made structures can be gone in a blink of an eye... let's say 1000 years; everything rotted away. No evidence of us would survive... but the natural structures will stand. Then we get to start all over again Smiley

What's your plan in case of an alien invasion??? [...]

Sneeze on them.

Grab a towel and go to the pub for a pint.

Are you sure you wouldn't rather die? I mean, Vogon poetry is supposedly pretty bad. Tongue

Anyway, movie/book plots aside, I believe chances are we wouldn't even understand what we were looking at if any alien life were to come this way, let alone have any meaningful chance to fight them. Think of it this way: assuming we don't kill each other or enter another "dark age" before then, what will humans be like in 1000 years? What about 10000 years? Can you imagine all the knowledge we'll possess, and everything we will be able to do? Well, the elements and conditions needed for life as we know it have been around for at least 8 or 9 billion years; life on Earth is at most 4 billion years old. We could potentially be faced with species that have been around billions of years before Earth was even created. Assuming their technological progress was mostly positive, who knows what they would be able to do, or what they could possibly want with Earth for that matter.

Another thing I find interesting is this: even if we were lucky to be visited by a species that were just sufficiently advanced to have practical interstellar capabilities (FTL), but otherwise similar to humans, I'm not sure there would be much reason to assume they came to "invade the planet". I mean, any decent interstellar propulsion system would likely require prodigal amounts of energy to operate; energy which could potentially be redirected to some form of energy-matter conversion technology. Why waste resources on an invasion fleet and on a voyage to risk your hide fighting some weird species, when you could probably use all that energy to just create what it was you were after in the first place?

Too tired to comprehend, but it sounds good Smiley lol  also not to mention... considering the time it would take them to get here, they probably wouldn't have known we've evolved into pseudo intelligent beings; earth was probably just a rock. Sure, they could've figured out time travel, but that's just a one way streak and impossible for them to return home. But I guess if they traveled near/at/past the speed of light... wait a sec... they'd be traveling in the future! Traveling the same speed on the way back home will only land them further into the future! off topic

The ones inhabiting earth are multidimensional beings.  Meaning they have the ability to shapeshift.

Ultimately, we are also multidimensional beings though we have been brainwashed and farmed for so long we have lost our ways from our spiritual powers.

And that is exactly what they do, farm us for our spiritual energy, our negative emotions feed them.  Without fear, they are powerless.

They have the ability to shapeshift... or that fact that we're in the 3rd dimension, we only perceive them a particular way... occasionally can get a glance but only in passing. Can you imagine what the hell we look like to a 2 dimensional being?

Dank, stop confusing the hell out of people. Some things can only be understood when you're passengers of the same plane.

OK, solo mining works very well and reward is 25 ADN. Thank you.

Btw. wallet says a warning to need an upgrade or node update.

Which miner are you using, and what parameters are you using in your start up file?

Just peachy. I'm stuck as well. Unfortunately I can't get my miner config'd for solo mining. But this error message sucks. Am I at their mercy until all the update? I'm wondering if I can just remove them the config if that will allow me to connect?

I see you're on line scottii... Just letting you know that I'll be taking the node off line for about 30 minutes; in case you navigate over Smiley

I will definitely check this out tonight.  Thanks for posting this good piece of information!

Kewl!

I'm trying to get my miners pointed in that direction but ogminer isn't working for me Sad  and sgminer is giving me lots of HW errors. Which software are you using? I really want to test this node so I can move onto the next...

Really good write up on the benifits of P2Pools, it also helps balance the mining ecosystem something that even BTC is having problems with now when it comes to ghash.io 51%.

Thanks for everyone hard work and commitment. Today we will see our first block halving so MAKE SURE you are on the latest client.

After we cross the threshold I'll create a swift update with a couple new checkpoints and recompile it for everyone. Any graphic designers want to create a new splash screen for us?

Thanks! I'm compiling lots of info I found across this site and the www about P2Pools; hope to spread the word on my site Smiley I've always known traditional pools could result in a 51%er, but it wasn't until last week I started to look into P2Pools myself; pretty much a no brainer who I'd support when it comes to pooling resources. I had no idea how much we actually give to those traditional pools! Well, the jig is up... at least with me.

376  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help: How do I report a scammer/ cheater using bitcoin on: June 18, 2014, 06:42:18 AM

i would however ask some questions.
how did this scammer get access to your friends facebook.
how did the scammer think that out of 1 billion FB users, that you knew about bitcoin, to even attempt this extortion on you specifically
how did the scammer know your location to have come up with the story that involved using your location to extort you
how did the scammer know that you had enough FIAT to do such a transaction EG that you were not a student with only $100 to your name.
how did the scammer know you had enough trust with your friend to even attempt such a conversation, and that you were not just some random FB friend add request
did the scammer ask you to deal with a certain person to give your FIAT to

usually stuff like this works out if it was just luck or that you were well researched into your wealth and relationships and that you were targeted. usually meaning someone in your friends list or someone that personally knows your friend done it.
my 2 cents are on a targetted attack on you by your friend or someone that knows your friends maiden name, favourite pets name and date of birth....

franky1, you LE? Wink Cuz this seems spot on! I'd be suspect of the people that are in my immediate presence. If anything the friend was just a catalyst... OP, don't be surprised if you find out it's someone you keep in your company.

W00t! Go LOGIC!

Hopefully next week I'll be officially launching my website Smiley  Logicoin will be a top shelf

Here's my P2pool node people: altcoinp2pmining.com:8652  only .5%  Smiley

378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIDEN | 1st Coin to use sCrypt-OG (GPU Optimized) [Bidcoind.com Auctions] on: June 18, 2014, 05:29:42 AM
Tsk tsk.

Another reason why you guys should be mining in P2P pools. Your coins go directly in your wallet! Not to mention you'll actually earn more. Oh, and in case you didn't know - you also get a part of the transaction fees. That doesn't happen in a pool... they keep those.

If anyone's interested... I've set up my second P2P node at altcoinp2pmining.com:9405  There's no pool operator with P2Ps, so you don't have to sign up. I spend the day trying to get the dashboard configured to be consistent with my first  altcoinp2pmining.com:8652 (yes, I'm so proud) but I'm not sure if data to populate on the page once a miner connects (but no worries, it wouldn't stop payment, the server's running). Anyhoo, if anyone's willing to test for me I'm willing to pay a couple of you a small ransom for an hour of your time. I'm in the process of standing up nodes for several other coins and building my main site, so I couldn't spend lots of time trying to configure my miner to mine this coin. Sad  I copied the .bat file content from the announcement page, so if it needs updating, let me know Smiley

379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Poloniex Has Rejected SuperCoin on: June 16, 2014, 04:59:46 PM
Ok, after catching up on this whole thread..
Yes, the OP was based on a misunderstanding of MAX_MONEY, and the Supercoin dev certainly should've been contacted before going public with this..
That said, seriously guys?  6 BTC..  20 BTC?!  On some random cryptopasta?   First rule of investing, especially in cryptos:  Don't invest more than you can afford to lose.  Throwing thousands of dollars into a coin so new that a mistaken accusation can trigger a 50+% dump in price is nobody's fault but your own.  If you threw thousands of dollars into a pink sheet stock, you could blame anyone you'd like when everyone else dumps it before you do, but in the end, your money wasn't taken from you - you chose to put it in an extremely risky investment.  20 BTC on an altcoin...   Unreal.

And how do you think they made those BTC? That's the game - buy low and dump after the pump. If it were the other way around and they made a killing, of course they'd be no complaints. Actually, there were some who made out well at the expense of others. Oh well - you win some, you lose some... but yes, you're so right - can't blame anybody but yourself.

Of course that's the game, but I'm assuming they didn't make that 20BTC all in one shot on an altcoin less than a month old.  If they did, they got extremely lucky, and if that kind of profit was a certainty, we'd all be posting from private jets.

lol, true indeed!

guys, this is just more java fud!!!

the vulnerabilities that exist are only a risk when running java applets in your web browser.

java apps running on servers, desktops and embedded devices are not effected by this.

so don't run java in your web browser.

problem solved.

Indeed! Smiley And thanks for the explanation!
