364  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ [ SOLD OUT ] on: August 18, 2015, 09:25:22 PM
We don't need a new thread for this, use one of the other two.

indeed.. id just like to add for OP that Scott from HolyBitcoin (holyscott) is getting some in, will be selling them at 2999 i believe?  you may want to PM him

How are you doing this though?  Are you having customers send to you or sending to bitmain as if it was you?

Bitmain terms are here: https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202661989-Limited-90-Day-Warranty-Terms-

They clearly post: "it does not extend to owners of the product other than the original owner" and as first buyer and not official reseller you are original owner.  They even warn of resellers may claim to have warranty that do not on sales "Some resellers may claim the units be qualified, however, it may not be."

Can you please show us documentation where Bitmain say's your not an official reseller yet you may transfer warrenty?

Hi, thanks for your question.

Currently, it seems Bitmain do not allow warranty claims through resellers but we are attempting to communicate and work with them on this issue.

In the mean time, I can confirm that we are offering an ITOP 90-day warranty - the same as the manufacturer - on all purchases of the S5+ made through our official site. If you need to return a faulty unit, you can send it back to us within the warranty period and we will continue to offer this unless we can do it through Bitmain in the future - this is our guarantee.

As a result, our costs are a little higher due to extra expenses in dealing with warranty claims but we offer more payment options and better customer service and support on our full range of products.

the paypal option is nice Gareth.. but soon you will have other resellers stocking up on these offering them for under 3k.  I know Scott at HolyBitcoin is getting a shipment in and accepts paypal as well, i think he is planning on offering them at 2999.97

yeah wth are they smoking?  this price seems insane for such a novelty item, i was considering one or two for the office desk but screw that.. i just bought 2 Avalon 4.1's for the same price as 4 of these mini's

no brainer to me
367  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: World biggest bitcoin /SHA256 miner 7.7T@3400W on: August 18, 2015, 09:17:45 PM
Why would I buy from Itop, when Bitmain is selling them direct for $1000.00 cheaper? And even @ Bitmain price of $2307 + $75 shipping to USA...

https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=0002015081407532655504JMKzsM067B

It would take 122 days to ROI WITHOUT POWER COSTS NOR DIFFICULTY INCREASE. Add in power costs (approx 1/2 of daily earnings) and difficulty, This device WILL NEVER ROI.

Run away! You are throwing good money after bad on this folks.

You would Totally ROI on free electricity, why do you FUD so? Tongue

I'll just stick to S5 however.

The bigger thing I think besides paying more is the warranty. They have not answered my question how someone who is not a official seller can promise same warranty as manufacture - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1152746.msg12169075#msg12169075

Well he says they charge more to offer better customer services. So he says the same warranty is held by them by holding extra funds to replace damaged stuff. I don't know how they can be sure they wont run out of stock however...

Like the controller there is one per unit.  I just don't see them having a ton of extra unit's.  But I could be wrong.

And like bitmain warranty service there is a ticket system, phone number, email, US team, China Team.   I just don't see how Itop can say they have same as that level.  And to say they have better service then a almost 24 hour system.

They can offer different... but same seems to push to sound like official reseller and they are not.  Again I could be crazy.  I just think they need to list their  TOS for warranty and make it clear they are not official and not the same warranty.

yeah and do you think that 1k justifies this "better" customer service and local warranty? i dont think it really does.. to each their own though, im sure itop has sold plenty
368  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Start Mining with 2500$ Budget. on: August 18, 2015, 09:15:17 PM
Thanks for everyone shared information and gave a true advice here.
i already bought brand new AntMiner S5+ with 3x PSUs.

I'm expecting it by next Sunday and will share back information and videos, please wish me good luck with it.

Just to make sure.  You do have 220/240 that you will be using for it right?

Just checking as starting with 110 would not work.   I'm guessing you know this just making sure Smiley

yeah even 208v would work, alot of data centers are equipped with 208v... so 208/220/240 are all key to getting that s5+ running.  otherwise its one expensive conversation piece
369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: August 18, 2015, 09:13:17 PM
I have a problem with my sp20 checking suddenly trailed off and I find that the fan is off reviewed disarmed and I find a circuit according to sample photo .. I turn the direct fan on. try to put the sp airing live and not mine .. I guess it's because the target reconoce the fan is not turned on and off. now my question is .. that has repair  o donde se puede encontrar esa tarjeta

huh?

looks like a voltage regulator was fried, you have to be pretty stellar with soldering to even attempt this fix.. not sure man, bummer
370  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: August 18, 2015, 02:25:59 PM
I'm fairly confident they will sell more batches of the s5+, it just makes sense from a business perspective.. Why release new gen when the competition is non existent.. S5+ was tempting but I opted to get some sp20's instead for the stealth factor
371  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: August 18, 2015, 02:35:53 AM
I'm curious to see a pic of these with two of the 2880 PSU.. See how clean it looks like this for a data center environment

374  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: antminer s6 4500gh/s 1000watts on: August 17, 2015, 05:05:55 PM
yeah i dont think we will see anything new from them for a few months at least.. they still have used s5's and now the new s5+.. why release anything else now?  makes sense to roll with these unless another manufacturer hits the market with new gear
375  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Monarchs, working or not working. on: August 17, 2015, 03:30:32 PM
sent you PM

I have a 725GH and a 550GH, both work flawlessly

377  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: August 17, 2015, 02:48:59 PM
I am not defending dogie , but   he said it is cheaper to buy from bitmaintech then itop.

Now itop may not like that but that was true.

http://www.itopshop.net/world-biggest-miner-antminer-s5-bitcoin-miner-77-t-3436w-p-271.html

3299  plus shipping

https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=0002015081407532655504JMKzsM067B

2307 plus shipping

so we are talking about a big mark up here.

My question to iTop is will you reduce price or keep the markup?

id consider buying from itop since he takes paypal, but the higher price is a dealbreaker.. i can see why one would charge a slight premium to cover merchant fees but not that much
378  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: August 15, 2015, 09:13:24 PM
dunno man... i think 2 undercloked sp3x are better Shocked
i mean, psu in miner and less noise...
now it depends on the price of sp3x, underclock, price of electricity, etc....

The trick though is to find an SP3x. I had hoped that some might free up as people buy the S5+, but I haven't seen much availability yet.

Yeah I've been trying to get my hands one one for a couple weeks now.. To no avail, they are super hard to come by.. Bitcoinware has them with 4 week shipping delay for 2200.. Ouch
379  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5+ is available to order, 7.722TH/S 0.445J/GH on: August 14, 2015, 07:22:22 PM
Can this be rack mounted?  Does anyone know?  Looks like brackets on the front sides but they seem funky
380  Economy / Services / Re: Coinoindex.com signature campaign! on: August 13, 2015, 02:46:54 PM
looks like i lost my post count on the bot.. after the forums went down yesterday i tried to search my UID on the bot's page this morning and it was saying signature not found (even though my sig has never changed)

so I re-pasted the sig from the OP post and now the bot pulls up my info but shows 0 posts and my starting post count is now showing higher than yesterdays when i joined the campaign.

what happened?  are my previous posts still counted?
