361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC goes hard fork that means ETH will be the new king? on: July 15, 2017, 04:14:22 PM
NO

BTC will not sink, if there is a fork, the winning fork will take the place of BTC as we see it now.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to find good altcoins that might x10-x100 returns in short-term? on: July 15, 2017, 04:12:45 PM
Check coinmarketcap, pick one choice in coins that are in between top 400- 600, and then pray.  Roll Eyes

Or buy a lottery ticket.

There is NO QUICK EASY WAY to find a good alcoin. You must reasearch, read the announcement, and MAYBE, sometime, something you think it could be a good new idea may emerge. Just don't miss it.

Of course, luck is a important factor as always.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My first mining rig: Help me choose the components on: July 15, 2017, 04:07:54 PM
My advices for a first mining rig:

1) Look out for used videocard (ex. ebay) they will do the job and with the drop in profitability, the risk of loosing money is less in that way

2) Aim for a 4 cards rig, 5 max first. It is much harder to succeed with a 6 gpus rig. Gain some experience first, go easy.

3) Be cheap on the cpu, it will not be usefull at all in mining

4) You can go with 4 gb on mem

5) 2 PSU is a good idea, much cheaper than just a bigger one.

6) Good choice on hard drive, 128 gb is plenty enought. SSD is nice, it will boot faster when you will setup the rig, but once it will be running 24/7 it will be useless, so you can save some $ here (if you have to buy it)

364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / What will happen after Aug 1? I have the answer... on: July 15, 2017, 03:58:30 PM
It will be Aug 2!  Grin

So much people here that are panicking for nothing at all. Turn off your computer, don't do some stupic trade (ex. sell at loss). Summer is here go see the beautifull ladies out there and relax.

Thanks me later, it was a free advice.

367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 570/580 Back in Stock .... and noone's buying on: July 12, 2017, 01:00:20 AM
Funny, but there are still inflated price (at least here in Canada)
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract - TOKEN SERVICE NOW LIVE on: July 06, 2017, 02:04:11 AM
So many new traders wanabe... thinking I will be rich soon. So they buy a coin, then the next day OMG it drop I must sell I lost too much!

Much much easier to buy, and forget about it. Then 1-2 years later, PROFIT  Grin
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: buying on ICO on: July 04, 2017, 01:32:58 AM
Be also aware that good project that started in a ICO didn't gave good return for investor for a long time. WAVES and LISK are a good example. I took more than a year to give profit.

Just bought them at exchange.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MinexCoin (MNX) speculation. on: July 02, 2017, 11:33:29 PM
I think the price will drop below ICO price the first week or two.
After the  bounty hunters sell off.
Good time to get some extra coins at a good price.
Then the price will go up $8.00 to $12.00
So hold and I think it will payoff.

I also think the same, on almost every ICO  the price is always lower when it enter exchange. It makes me wonder why people are just not waiting the token on exchange instead of panic buy during the ico, then panic sell when they see it lower on exchange LOL.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SC coin keep dumping - :( on: July 02, 2017, 04:47:02 PM
Do you know any reasons why SC price keep going down? Is it good for long-term investment? I like this project but about SC coin, I feel doubting about its future
Panic selling maybe?
I don't know, it seems they are too cheap now, i think it is time to buy some siacoin and sell them later.

I invested in SiaCoin when the price was at @750 now the price is below @500 which hurts me a lot saying the truth, I believe that siacoin will rise later this month (because I invested Tongue) but the price started to get dumped from Day 1 when "they" introduced the Asics, maybe they are mining now and dumping the price?

Loosing 1/3 of the investment hurts for sure. But you bought on a very, very high level, and maybe this was the right lesson to learn for you, not buying on peaks again, not buying after a x25 rise ...

In my opinion, SC will recover and rise further on. Decentralized storage will be the future for everyone, who won't give his private data into the hands of big, non transparent companies. And Sia is the best competitor on the market by now, with a trustworthy team of developers. The asic will be delivered in march 2018 - as far as I know. So noone is able to mine SCs with it now. I think that the actual drop is a consequence of cashing out profits from the last month, combined with panic sells of the ones which came in too late, combined with a subliminal feeling of uncertainty.
I can't - and I won't - advise anything to others.
But if I where in your position, I would hold the coins.

We never know when a coin is going to get dumped or pumped, so do I, I thought that at that time SC is going to reach 1k so I was ethinking that it's a good time to buy and sell at 1k later but that still didn't happend, but if within a month the price gets doubled (now to 1k) then It's not a problem for me.

Right now is a bad time to invest in crypto for quick profit, so if your intention is X2 quick, forget about it.

BUT, for long term (1-2 years+) it is still a good time to invest. Best advice I can give you now is with a good project like this one, put your coins in a safe place and just forget it for quite some time, you will gain much more this way.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ETH] Why still fall so much on: July 02, 2017, 12:46:02 PM
Are you all here new to crypto or what? Last year ETH price climbed to 30$ (march 2016) then fell back in the 15-20$ range, and later it slipped under 10$. Everyone was claiming ETH is scam, is dead, will fall back to sub 1$ and all of those stories about Vitalik health etc popped on.

So here we are again, price climbed fast, and now people are panicking if it drop. FUDDERs paradise.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: July 2017 market speculation? on: July 01, 2017, 03:06:35 PM
The trend is downwards  and on the optimistic side very minimal growth. Bit up and down between the same high and lows from last week. The irrational inflow of last months will never come back.

You will have some bad feeling in a couple of years when mass adoption will be there in crypto.

Best thing to do now is turn off everything and be patient.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Overall market cap on: June 30, 2017, 12:14:44 PM
In 2013 it was because of MTGOX. It's not the same at all now.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My crypto Portfolio - when will I be rich? on: June 29, 2017, 02:57:45 AM
Nice portfolio, but indeed too much BTC, if it was mine:

Keep 50-60% BTC

If you are not confortable with alts, no problem just trade them in this manner:

buy when they are on the low, after a crash ( you missed a perfect opportunity last days)

and then sell them when they are up 10-20%

I will rise fast you see.

Until they don't rise again....

on the last dump I legitimately thought this was the start of a new alt coin bear market

They will stop to rise IF/WHEN Bitcoin is in trouble (ex in 2015 after MTGOX), until then, manipulation, FUD will create some crash.

Of course I can be wrong, but hey you have a nice amount now, you want more, you need to risk it(balls).

OMFG please no more ICO  Roll Eyes
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 5 grand.. 5 coins... 5 years on: June 25, 2017, 06:11:20 PM
If you are going long, like 5 years long.. then my picks would be;

1)Unobtanium - small total coin circulation and it will take 200 years for all unobtanium to be mined, their goal was to get to a price of around $200,000 USD I believe. They label themselves as the Platinum to Bitcoins gold

2)Antshares(Neo) - The Chinese Ethereum, just getting started but already looks a million times better than Ethereum does.

3)Nexus - Goal is to decentralize not just the internet but the world - has already launched rockets into space and is very promising

4)Humaniq - Just moved to the silicon valley and has a very big project in helping those less fortunate in Africa and other places

5)Quantum Resistant Ledger - As binary code hits the dark ages, quantum computing is becoming more and more mainstream with google already making a 49 qubit chip. Quantum Resistant Ledger are one of only a few who are already able to provide support in preventing attacks on this type of computing.

All I can say is whatever you choose to hold make sure you do hold for the full 5 years and dont go panick selling and chopping and changing if your coins are making a loss to start with

Just quoting your post, because it's rare to see a newbie post that post some valuable info, not just random crypto name and no reason why.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My Portfolio on: June 25, 2017, 06:05:25 PM
Please stop posting your portfolios. This is not the thread for that.

Johnny maybe you should rename the thread to Johnnys portfolio, maybe that would help to fend these newbs from posting

Agree, too many useless newbie posts - not just on this thread but on the whole forum.
Just ignore any under a full member status.

No need to rename his thread, what's the difference between My portfolio and johnny's portfolio? Indeed ignoring is the best option, too much people here that can't just read at all.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: High Risk/High Reward Long Term Holds (100x Speculation Picks) on: June 23, 2017, 08:49:57 PM
Have a look at Espers (ESP2),
I don't see much risk but I see 100x potential, do some research

Did you even look at the ESP2 richlist on the block explorer?

Top 10 wallets have a LOAD of coins the 2 firsts a millionaire if sold.

ESP2 already pumped up 300%.

It's your money  Roll Eyes
