Version 1.0.4.5 Source code released!

Please update your clients now!  Just click on the links below

Kryptonite is a de-centralized virtual currency.  Kryptonite aims to benefit more than just the huge hashers out there - and we aim to be as fair as we can.  We're developing KRYP to be usable in as many places as possible, and make it easier for the masses to understand how to use it.  Unlike many before us, we do not go to any effort to hide our identities - we don't need to!

We do not claim to have a coin with all the latest tech and gimmicks - in fact we take no shame in having a coin which yes, in many ways is like many others (for now, anyway).  The main difference between Kryptonite and other coins is it's fairly long maturity time of 3 days, and our (slightly) more unusual block reward system which aims to deter miners with huge hashing power.  We hope that this, along with us, the devs, being open and upfront about what we're doing, will help to make KRYP in to a strong contender in the virtual currency arena.  There is no rush to do this!

We've now teamed up with PromoteYourCo.in who are holding our pre-mined coins for us, so that you the users, know that the coins are safe from dumping or theft.  More news coming REALLY soon, but we hope that our next release will be something that everyone, not just the tech/krypto savvy, will be able to make use of in a completely familiar way, and without having to learn anything - well, nearly! Thanks for getting back to me.  Always appreciated.

I will stick with it!  Feel free to put BUK's in my account any time! 38NxqGSrBJAzbdpDyyWAQch6hFfF9dzX6P

I was a bit silly and put all my BUK's (the few I have) at Cryptsy before I realized it was the wrong thing to do lol.

Keep up the good work....BUK's could have a good future!

I transferred some BUK from Cryptsy to my wallet so I could help with the POS mining that needs doing.

It arrived, but has zero conformations.  Why?  Block chain is advancing (albeit very slowly!) but still no confirmations.

Do I need to press my 'worry' button yet?

Thanks for the info - makes a lot of sense now - I just couldn't figure out why those numbers didn't add up!

Thanks to VT as well for all the hard work - i'm a dev myself so know what it's like.

Thanks again...
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New profit-switching mining pool with nightly bonus payout-- CoinSolver.com on: March 09, 2014, 10:23:25 AM
Things I've noticed.....

First - the figures on the stats page do not add up - they just don't make sense!
My hashrate sometimes shows as nothing (0.0KH/s)
Yesterday I thought I was getting 0.02xxx btc, it even stangely showed as 2 payment transactions of slightly different amounts - 0.01xxx each.  One had no block code with it - this transaction then disappeared.

SO
Surely Combined Balance should be the total of Immature + Unexchanged? - but it's not - it's more! (which of course I dont mind, i'm just trying to make sense of these figures).  What is my btc balance exactly?  I would assume, from the way it;s presented, that I would be getting my btc balance (coins already mined and exchanged?) + the estimates above?  Is there a way to make these figure more meaningful?  I have got my thinking cap on and will let you know if I come up with anything!

Should I worry that sometimes my hashrate is showing as zero, even though my min hashrate is 200KH/s?

What's with the weird payout?

I'm still sticking with this project - it's interesting and if you get it right, it will be a winner!  My returns are ok and easier (and at this point I think better) to get than me, as a small miner, having to select coins, mine, and exchange myself.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New profit-switching mining pool with nightly bonus payout-- CoinSolver.com on: March 05, 2014, 07:09:25 AM
I like this site...great idea!

First time I tried.....i mined about a day but got no payout, not even after 3 days - payout came when I started mining again.....going to give it a few days but still not sure i'm making the most of my poor 1MH...

The nightly prize draw - I'd like to see how much the prize was as well as who got it.  If it's a good sum, maybe you should award it to 2 or 3 people per night, either equally or have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  It's a good incentive to mine, but with only one person getting any extra every day it's hard to get.

graph is confusing and so are figures:  it's not clear what 'combined' is (well, not to me anyway) because of the way its formatted.  BTC Balance - the way it's presented makes it look like you will be paid BTC balance + combined??

Will keep mining for a few days as I like the site and idea - thanks guys!
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DOPE] DopeCoin - Relaunching soon on: February 11, 2014, 12:21:08 PM
Well folks, I've had a good nights rest and have had some time to reflect on the situation.

So last nights launch, was a failure.
I'm not going to sit here and make excuses and ultimately any failure or success of this project lies sqaurely on my shoulders.

We have several issues....

The diff retarget was broken and set too high
Website got hammered with so much traffic the download link was hard to access
Massive DDOS attacks and volume took out all of the pools, website and database within 5 seconds of launch

I apologize publicly to the community for this outcome. I wish I could change what has happened.
What I would like to do is try to help people perhaps understand.

I myself, am a front end developer. My strengths lie in bringing products to market and I specialize in branding, marketing and product management. I really worked harder than most will ever realize to ensure that any variable I had any kind of control over was managed to the best of my ability.

In order for DopeCoin to work, it was important that I found the right people to handle the aspects of the business that I am unable to accomplish. I can't write a line of code, and I do not have server administration experience.

So I hired a server guy, and I hired a coin developer.

The coin developer named Otakusama was paid to develop the coin over a month ago. 5 days ago Otakusama deleted all of his contact information on the forums, stole the DopeCoin development money I had put up and disappeared completely.
There was a forum full of people, thousands of Twitter followers, Facebook fans and others patiently waiting for DopeCoin's release.

I knew at this point that my project was in serious trouble.

I discreetly reached out to certain members of the community and scrambled desperately to find a new coin developer to save the launch.
After only being able to find one person who was willing to help but who had never created a coin before (thanks Johnny, I appreciate that bud) I reached out to my top php coder from my main business and asked if he would take on the project.

His knowledge with crypto was 0%. But he is one of the best coders I have ever seen and was my only hope at this point.
He put in a tremendous effort and we finally uploaded the src and wallets onto github about 4 hours before launch after working for over 40 hours straight.

We were afraid that something may of been overlooked, and something had been. We had cloned the coin specifications from Otakusamas recommended parameters during our rush and the diff retarget was set at 16 hours. An impossible parameter for the coin to ever work at from what I understand now.

A couple of members of the community warned me about this, I in turn relayed those warning back to Otakusama and his team to which I was told "that's a just a forum troll, he doesn't even know what hes talking about" (looking at you on this Jolly).

The project has experienced a major setback, not unlike the setback it experienced 5 days ago when the development money was stolen.
I take full responsibility for everything that has happened.

What I can promise, is that I tried as hard as I possibly could of to pull it out of the hat and save the launch.
I will learn from each of these mistakes and ultimately will grow from the experience.
What I hope that has been proven through this whole mess is my dedication to this project and willingness to push through major obstacles to get the job done.

DopeCoin is not over, this is just the beginning!

I'm putting together a plan for relaunch and will be using all new third party providers. LiveChains will no longer be hosting the website, wallet download or the mining pools and I will be looking for a more powerful solution. Additionally I am reaching out to the community for a lead developer to help get us back on track.

I have made alot of enemies it appears because of this situation (some of you forum guys said some pretty rude and unnecessary things, shame on you) but alot of support has also come through and many new friends have been made.

For those of you that stand by DopeCoin I promise I will do everything in my power to get the project back on track. For those of you that don't, I wish you luck with your other adventures.

Sincerely,

Dopey

Total respect for this - I have zero respect for those that chose to just slag off your launch (hey guys, things go wrong) just because they didn't get the huge  opportunity to instamine they expected.

It take a lot of work to do this --  you foul mouthed people should just keep a lid on it - you try making something better then?

Look fwd to re-launch - Thank you

PLEASE - i'm sure you know this, but get the main web site updated ASAP

370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] CasinoCoin - The Premiere Coin for Online Casino Gaming | On Cryptsy! on: February 04, 2014, 04:27:06 PM
One thing I would like to do prior to releasing the updated CasinoCoin wallet is to properly coordinate with the websites and apps that currently use CasinoCoin (ie. pools, exchanges, games, etc). I want to avoid the mistake of other alt-coins that didn't properly coordinate a hard-fork release, causing 2 separate blockchains and resulting in orphans and other issues.

I need to properly identify the sites that currently run the CasinoCoin wallet so I can contact them in advance about the upcoming hard fork. I could use your help to double check my list to see if I'm missing any.

Pools:
- all of the pools listed on the first post of this thread

Block chain sites:

Exchanges:
- Cryptsy
- Coins-E

Stats:

Games:

Let me know if I've missed anything.

I just got us added to this pool

http://p2pool.neocities.org/coin_csc.html

These guys are trying to make pool mining fairer so a suggested that a coin like our might do well on there - they added it immediately!  So you might want to contact them too - i'll let them know.

I am not affiliated with them, just found them by chance and have had a really positive and profitable experience using them.

Edit:  I forgot - this pool is so easy - no joining up or user name, just use your wallet address and you're off!

I've tried this with MarsCoin but after getting 16000+ shares accepted - i've been paid nothing!  Was getting more solo mining!

While I was bored I saw that the CasinoCoin logo was getting a bit fuzzy, so I have recreated it in high definition for you.

And here for a large high definition version for use in other projects (to be scaled down to your desired size).

Hey guys just working on the new casinocoin.org website and was looking for 3 testimonials about the coin or the devs that we could feature on the homepage. Things that will not only help the overall thought on the coin, but the dedication that is involved around it etc. 100CSC for each one i choose that's 300 CSC total for this little giveaway.

I have been following the development of CasinoCoin for some time.  Having seen the dedication of the devs and the community around this project, I just had to join in and am now contributing to the project.  These guys are working really hard to produce what really could be the best virtual currency for online gambling, and the community around it are contributing so much.  It's a rare thing to see such dedication to a project like this from so many, which just wants me to contribute more!  The devs and community are doing everything they can to keep this coin fair and give everyone a chance to get in on the action, rather than just creating a coin for the sake of making a quick profit.  In summary - dedication, communication and community.  I suggest you jump in as soon as you can!  This is a solid community determined to succeed.

Is CasinoCoin on Twitter? If not, I think it is important that someone makes a Twitter account for it and is active on Twitter. It is also a good place to build some hype for CasinoCoinCity.

In order to get some users for CasinoCoinCity that is not only from the current community there needs to be some hype, attention and excitement about the "new big thing", CasinoCoinCity Smiley

If anyone has a blog or something that would also be a great place to spread the word. Or doing some blog comments.

I believe one of the most important thing for CasinoCoin currently is to spread the word or we will continue to see the price going down.

CasinoCoin is now on FB, Twitter and Google+  I'm working with CasinoCoin to get these moving as they are invaluable in getting the word, and the amazing branding out there.

Would everyone please take the time to visit and join these pages - hit like, retweet, share and +1 on everything please!  You'd be amazed at how much this will help.

Twitter - https://twitter.com/CasinoCoin
Google+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/116637659512134712478/posts  (this will change to /CasinoCoin as soon as CasinoCoin (the dev) has time to add the code to the web site

I'm working with CasinCoin to create a Dev Community where we can all work on the project together - hopefully details of this will be available later today.

Go CasinoCoin!

378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: remove thread on: January 22, 2014, 10:54:12 AM
Wow!
Thanks for the info!  A few more questions:

- If I mine with your client, will I be able to transfer coins to cryptsy?
- Is the duifficulty different with the different clients?
- Can you just clarify - if I mine with the 1.3.0 client, are you saying I still wont get anything after block 417000?
- Do all these forks basically mean we have different coins?

Thanks again for your help - what a shame a dev is being so uncooperative.....it's just not cricket!

Answers to these questions are actually already given if you read attentively the previous messages. Or you not understand something in my posts?
Well again briefly:

- No, you can not transfer fresh mined coins to cryptsy right now. You can transfer them only to those who also uses this version. Accordingly transfer to the exchanges will be possible only when (if) it upgrade to the new version too - then coins mined now can be transfered and traded. For now only p2p trade is possible.
I have already sent such the request to both exchanges where ORB traded. But i need to be supported by other users to show there they want to use at exchange new updated client instead of the broken official too, and it is not just only my wish.
So send a message (via tickets or email) with such a request on own behalf.
You can refer to my ticket #62004 on criptsy (where I gave a detailed account of the situation to administration) or to this thread in you message to shorten your request

- YES and NO simultaneously.
Formally as now the blockchain is also forked yes - the difficulty in each chain is different. But in fact from the end of last year, PoW mining is working only in my version, so that there is only one difficulty in practice. It floats as usual depending on the amount and activity of miners in the range about from 400 to 2000 (0.006 to 0.03)
And the difficulty of the official version it makes no any sense - what is shown as the difficulty in official client and the different monitoing sites(as they use official ver too) is just frozen value(= 4137) from December 30/31, which has not changed because no one could obtain a single PoW block since.

- Yes it what i say last 2 weeks.
And as block #41700 was already reached today you can check this yourself. Or read posts in this threads:
https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/2736-looks-like-orbitcoin-will-resume-at-block-417000-in-the-meantime-do-not-use-unofficial-fork/page-6
https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/3464-its-nearly-block-417000-please-update-to-orb-version-13-once-reached/page-2
where many users of the official version wrote they do not see any positive changes after 417000 as i pedicted long ago (it was relative easy - i just test and debug official code so can forecast how it will be working after patch activation). Although exist possibility that the original developer(RedMist) has already prepared another working version, which he will now begin to use for himself and/or friends. But the version that is laid out in public access by them as official "fix" - does still not work with the PoW even after target block.

- Not really. Rather are 2 versions of the same coin. Which may merge back into one later. Or one wins and the other die. Or continue to exist both in parallel. Time (and your actions including too) will show.

Thanks - I just wanted to have a really clear picture of whats going on, as i'm sure others do.   I appreciate you taking the time to fully explain it - as i'm sure others do too.

Why does the OrbitCoin website say NOT to download any newer client from here?  They say current client is 1.3.0, not 1.3.2

Which is correct?  Will these different clients mess up the network?

Site also says that normal mining will renumber after block 417000.

If I mine with my current client (1.3.0) I dont get many blocks, but they are all invalid or orphaned (which is what i was expecting until block 417000)

Can anyone clarify this?
