361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The use of stable coins or no? on: October 06, 2019, 01:05:28 PM
From my personal observation and some  research, I realized that stable coins are meant to  present the true value of money with no volatility in terms of price fluctuations.  they were developed to help increase the adoption of cryptocurrencies. But I have also realized that, stable coins are mostly as a trading pair to most of the top crypto coins. Investors and traders use stable coins to trade for Bitcoin and altcoins to no the particular rate which the price of a particular  coin is either increasing or decreasing in value.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra the new crypto king on: October 06, 2019, 12:48:08 PM
How  can a coin that is not yet available for people to use be the new king of cryptocurrency? it is true  that the Libra coin will increase the adoption and use of cryptocurrencies but i don't really see it to become the next king of crypto. Bitcoin will always be the king of cryptocurrency...
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't just an investment, it is the future on: October 06, 2019, 06:41:26 AM
From my last post about Bitcoin investment,  following the valuable contributions of members of the forum,  I learnt that Bitcoin investment is not just something that blossoms in a few days,  rather it takes patience.

That gave rise to my new topic.
Bitcoin isn't just an investment, but it is the future...

Let's all share our thoughts about this, in order to encourage ourselves and build a stronger community of users.

Bitcoin has always been the future of money ever since it was officially introduced to the world. But looking at the bitcoin ecosystem now, Bitcoin is currently more of  an investment entity rather than a digital money.  From the way things are going, bitcoin might be an investment coin for a long time.
364  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Notice: Coinexchange is shutting on: October 06, 2019, 04:11:40 AM

there is a good reason, they were lazy!
if you have checked their site in early days you could see that there has been nearly no change in their site. there were a lot of things missing, for example their API has been incomplete for ever and there is a text saying it will be added soon!!!
they never made any efforts to grow their business so they never could make any profit from it. as a result they had to shut down.

I strongly agree with you on the fact that the team behind the Coinexchange platform were lazy. This totally makes sense now.  A lot of exchange platforms in the crypto space are lazy, they don't make any effort to improve their platforms. They are among the reasons why some people find it hard to fully adopt to the use of cryptocurrencies.
365  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should move to BTC? on: October 05, 2019, 11:58:30 PM
Hi guys ! Thats a question i do to myself very often , and it always looks like the right answer. My main coin for now its XRP (like 3000) and a very few BTC (0.005).

I hold XRP from long time but i see BTC price raise a lot and XRP don't do much. They have a consolidated project but no matters what BTC price its still mandatory.

So the question is , should i sold like 2500XRP and buy BTC when this one have a price drop?

I know its something i had to decide myself , just looking for what you guys think.
Thanks!

Looking at the market value of bitcoin now, it will be good idea to sell your XRP for Bitcoin. You are likely to make about 20% - 30% of profit when the market value moves to $15k. I see bitcoin moving from $8k  to $15k before 2019 comes to an end. But XRP also has good potential of increasing in market value.
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exacly what is the Reason? on: October 05, 2019, 11:51:42 PM
Exacly what is the Reason bull run have not started yet?

There is allready good things happening Bakkt, Binance, bitmex large volumes and so...

Still that all its not enough?

No one really have an answer for the reasons why the bull run of Bitcoin hasn't started yet. The nature of the bitcoin market and ecosystem makes it difficult to know and predict when the bull run will begin.  You just have to keep your eyes on the market and observe the patterns of the rate the market value of Bitcoin changes. That can help you know to invest and make some reasonable profit.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are we really investing in bitcoin? on: October 05, 2019, 11:43:31 PM
Is the service and profitability, even if bitcoin is highly volatile, are the only two reasons why bitcoin is attractive to investors? Any good opinions or answers? Thanks

Considering the entire Bitcoin ecosystem, about 99% of investors are investing into bitcoin just because of its profitability. Investors in Bitcoin are just interested in the profits they are likely to make out of their investment rather than the services  Bitcoin provide to the financial space. Personally, I invest in Bitcoin cause of its financial freedom it gives me. Just a few people invest in Bitcoin for the services it renders.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think Bitcoins biggest vulnerability is? on: October 05, 2019, 11:17:00 PM
What do you think Bitcoins biggest vulnerability is?

Bitcoin do not have any specific vulnerabilities you can directly point and say this is it.  Some financial organizations and some government authorities  have tried to bring Bitcoin down but haven't had any  success doing that. This shows that Bitcoin has no specific thing that can be used or described as bitcoin's vulnerability....  If it did like bitcoin would been dead long time ago...
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you know about Bitcoin before becoming a bitcoiner? on: October 05, 2019, 07:54:16 PM
I first got know know about Bitcoin through a friend who was a first year computer science student  in the year 2012. He use to tell me about cryptography and Bitcoin. I fell in love with Bitcoin once I understood the idea bitcoin introduced to the world and the financial ecosystem. So I began reading about Bitcoin since then till now.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will crypto really go to zero? on: October 04, 2019, 05:39:25 PM
The crypto ecosystem for ten years has grown into a bigger community where people in it truly understand and know how relevant it is for the existence of cryptocurrency. The only possible way cryptocurrency will be worth zero is when blockchain technology is no longer in use. Blockchain technology is the main supporting foundation of cryptocurrency. If you break the foundation, the entire crypto space will collapse alongside...
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be too quick to judge ICOs on: October 04, 2019, 05:27:21 PM
I personally do not believe this statistics that 99% of ICOs are scam, because some ICOs fail do not mean they are all scam. I usually tell people that starting an ICO is like starting a new business, it might succeed immediately, it might fail presently but have a great future and it might fail totally beyond redemption. So because a project is failing to perform presently or fail totally do not mean it is a scam. Don't get me wrong here, I never said there are no scam projects but the rate is not as high as alleged. Judging a project based on its first few years is wrong, give it time to realize its potentials.

No one is saying all ICOs are scam but from the information gathered on ICO projects, a greater number  of them appears to be a scam.  Developing a shitcoin is scam. So its not about being quick to judge rather, a way to help people from being scammed...
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: characteristics of fraudulent projects on: October 04, 2019, 05:18:29 PM
when investors and the crypto community already believed, but the team said differently!
- The team did not respond well to the crypto community.
- The team is very shady and does not provide updates about their projects on the telegram & social media channels.
- The team plans to take a vacation
- The team blocked accounts one by one from each community who questioned about the development of the project.
- and finally you are banned in this group  Grin

it's so annoying, how you feel?  Roll Eyes

In addition to these, fraudulent projects usually do not have any specific idea or products backing them. Also, they have huge discounts for investors.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee To Launch New Decentralized Exchange – McAfeeDex on: October 04, 2019, 04:41:10 PM
Well!! popular crypto expert john mcafee decided to launch a decentralised Exchange McAfeeDex.

Read here: McAfeeDex

What's your take on this?

I don't see any significant change this will introduce into the crypto ecosystem. This decentralized exchange will be no different from the already existing decentralized exchange platform  in the crypto space.
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Doing This? on: October 04, 2019, 04:29:51 PM
Personally, I don't think is advisable for me to share my private keys with my family.  What if you share them with your family and one of them decides to be smart and empty all your wallet? I will rather store them on a usb drive and  add a video with an instruction on how to have access to my funds.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders Protection on: October 04, 2019, 04:01:59 PM

My hypothesis is that a primary hurdle that keeps people from seeing bitcoin as an option for their savings strategy is the learning curve with safe storage combined with a lack of consumer protection offerings for those that are willing to sacrifice their financial liberties for custodial security. This market segment includes early majority and late majority adopters. I understand Bitgo has tackled this problem set to some effect and seems established as an industry leader. Some other interesting teams are looking to nail down custody as a service, so I feel there is some validation here.

Your hypothesis is definitely on point and true. Most Bitcoin holders are usually scared that their funds can easily be stolen and there is nothing they can do about it since they are solely in charge of the safety of the funds. With this nature of Bitcoin, adoption into the financial mainstream  is very slow.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8 Ways to Make Money with Bitcoin in 2020 on: October 04, 2019, 03:47:36 PM
So you want to get your hands on some totally free bitcoin, eh?

In contrast to individuals's knowledge, getting bitcoin is easy, there are a variety of methods to earn bitcoin online- some extra popular than the others

here are several of the most famous ways to earn money with bitcoin Smiley

https://youtu.be/yyYTaZUoMUI

Making money with Bitcoin is not as easy you may think. It has to do with time and money. With mining, you need to invest money into buying hardwares before you can start earning something.  People need to accept the fact that making money with bitcoin is not as easy as others say it. You have to invest something before you can earn money with bitcoin.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Loan to buy Bitcoin? on: October 04, 2019, 03:38:47 PM
I'm buying ~500$ in Bitcoin every month with part of my salary. I have a stable job and my company is doing good. I'm wondering if it worth to take 20.000$ to buy 2 BTC now and pay the 500$ as loan installment instead of buying sats every month. I believe in the potential of Bitcoin to reach 50k in a couple years, but it wouldn't be possible to buy near half of BTC at the 500$ rate, so this would be something like an "advance". Hypothetically (but still possible in some probability), if BTC collapses and never recover from 8k, I would still be paying this loan for about 3 years but wouldn't starve or something like that, it would just sux for a while, since I still have another source of income. I know it's not the place to ask I will do whatever I think it's best, but if you were in my position, would you do it?

I am no financial adviser but with my little experience in bitcoin investment and trading, it will be better to buy $500 worth of Bitcoin every month rather than going in for a huge loan just to buy 2 BTC.  What if after you took the loan to buy the Bitcoin and months later the price of bitcoin drops to about 40%, you will lose a great amount of your investment capital. But with the monthly purchase, you can easily decide whether to buy or not depending on the patterns of price changes. Please don't make a mistake to acquire a loan just to invest in Bitcoin....
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's next for bitcoin ? on: October 04, 2019, 03:15:45 PM
Bitcoin has to evolve into something bigger and I hope it will happen in the coming years otherwise things may not go according to plan

I don't think I quite understand this; evolve into something bigger like what?? Bitcoin don't need evolution right now. All bitcoin needs is mainstream adoption and recognition. Once it is in the mainstream, evolution will automatically take place with minimal efforts.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's next for bitcoin ? on: October 04, 2019, 03:10:26 PM
We have been through a rough ride but what's next for bitcoin ? It has survived some brutal sanctions which were implemented by regulators but still manages to flourish (sustain), but don't you think bitcoin can earn more reputation by doing something good for the community like donating for environment cause, could pledge to help Amazon rainforest to recover from the recent disaster which will create more bitcoin sympathizers. Don't you think bitcoin community needs to focus on world affair so that we can be a part of mainstream and recognized by people ?

The only next step for Bitcoin is mainstream adoption of it in the financial ecosystem. I totally agree with you on the fact that the entire bitcoin community needs to help the world know and understand what bitcoin can do when it is adopted into the financial mainstream. All bitcoin needs right now is mainstream recognition and adoption. That is the next step for bitcoin.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you think Bitcoin is the world's most widely used cryptocurrency, you're wrong on: October 04, 2019, 04:38:33 AM
If this is really the case, shouldn't it be worded as "most traded cryptocurrency" rather than "most widely used cryptocurrency"? Because as far as I know, though Tether is being widely traded for sure, not only for BTC, but for other alts, but I'm pretty sure Tether is very rarely being used as a method of payment and as a store of value, which actually people use bitcoin for. There's a quite significant difference between "most widely used" and "most widely traded". It really depends on user intent.

I had similar thoughts. Tether usually serves as a stablecoin used by traders to trade and it  is hardly used as a cryptocurrency for the transaction of goods and services online. No one actually use Tether as a payment option. In terms of usage, Bitcoin has always been the widely used cryptocurrency. From the dark web to IEO or ICO launch, Bitcoin is the main coin accepted.
