361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [APEX] APEX Coin | X13 | PoW/PoS Hybrid on: July 16, 2014, 07:23:01 PM
Anyone else notice a huge drop in network hashrate? It basically halved...

Edit: It's climbing back now
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL][APEX] Multipool or Tor? on: July 16, 2014, 06:10:42 PM
It doesn't make sense to use the 100k, doing either first though will benefit the coin in their own way. Multipool is good for rising the price, however though there needs to be a set of miners dedicated to mining that coin. Even it it means that the devs either send their rigs to it permanently or everyone strongly invested in this coin just aims one GPU at the multipool it will continue with strength. Best example would be comparing sync to liberty. Sync is always been strong cause the multipool always had a decent group of miners supporting it, the value held.

TOR also will give the coin more publicity with use and also raise the price, however again it needs continuous support otherwise it will just rise and drop. In my personal opinion I would say multipool first. Even if it only is very popular for a couple of months, the coin value stays high and then the value of the devs coin is greater giving them more options. The value of using Tor will only last a few weeks before it is swapped with another coin and another change will need to be made.

Just my 2 cents

Shield is rising again  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Can we break our previous high?

It doubled in a few hours, so if it keeps doing that, then yes in 6 hours. But that is an exponential climb that is a bit insane to go for.
A normal steady climb will be good.

I'm in a pool with 6+ GH, I'm sure there are others.

I think maybe avoid mintpal for a short while...

Hi,

After waiting hours on help, I get one post(help) by DarkProton, but it has not helped to solve my issue.

So, I have decide to sell all my coins, and jump to another "good" coin. I hope that Shieldcoin will be succesfull. But I will leave now because I want not to take the risk to loose money, if they fail.

I will follow Shieldcoin, when they have new logo I will as soon as possible update Shieldcoin price ticker.

Good luck dev.

Sincerely,

Wiskunde

You are correct, we should help more. But I am not sure what else can be offered. I have a copy of my shieldcoin.conf

rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=25615
port=25616
gen=0
server=1
addnode=95.85.62.12
addnode=162.243.122.97
addnode=188.226.184.232

That has been working for me and I happily sit and stake every 30 mins approx. If you still have you can try. Other than that I am not sure what else I can offer. Maybe check your firewall as well. That has caused me grief before.

What I notice...All the senior members have lots of understanding and realization that what happens happens and everyone should move on. Still being positive and support the devs to continue work and keep things go steady - That's good.

Then there are the people who are acting like the world owes them and that things should be sorted so that their maid can come back to wipe their arse. Patience is a good thing to learn and more people need to have it. No one asked everyone to buy into the coin, that was a choice they made, it crashed because of something, they all do. I am quite content sitting with the coins I have and wait. Maybe it will come back and do me good. Maybe it will slowly fade. Who knows.

I just have faith that what has been said is in the process of being done, or at least they are trying. There are hundreds of coins out there where the devs have lied and then bolted. I just hope that this is not the case here, but we will never know till the bitter end. So for those who are 'so angry' and just want to waste space by making angry posts for no reason other than blaming the devs for the fact they lost money, I can honestly say that there are very few people on the threads that actually care about what you lost. I'd be surprised if the number ever made it to 5. Everyone who continually reads this thread has something invested in this coin. They all want it to climb back up. I also know there are many people who bought in at 50k. So in essence everyone would like it to go up, but the majority of the people have no control in making that happen.

So sit back, wait and maybe throw the devs some support instead of blaming them for the fact that you bought some coins and you haven't made enough to by the new Justin Bieber shirt you wanted. I will say this again because I think it is important...we don't care.

To the devs: There are a lot of people who are holding and actually believe you can do what you say. Keep working hard as we are patient and want to see something good in the medium to long term.

From what I gathered, as the community finds things in other wallets that they want to see implemented into the apex wallet they must inform the devs. From that I am sure there will be some kind of vote or something and if the majority says yes, then they will add it to the code.

In essence then, lets say the community wants staking to stop for 6 months and 64% say yes, then the devs will do this. Or we want a chat room in the wallet so we can chat to each other bragging about how big our bag is and only 30% of the community votes for this says yes, then thankfully it won't be implemented.

In essence what they are offering is a way for the coin to change with the trends to always be with lets say the front-runners of the times.

it seems the hype bubble has popped atm. hold or sell is only options atm :-/

It would be good if more people held so stake would happen more often.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRUST] TrustPlus [X11][PoS 8 Hours 30Day Max][Premine = Bounties] on: July 08, 2014, 02:01:12 PM
Premine ?

Why?Huh?

I have seen a lot of coins go through this same crap over and over again. Either people moan about the pre-mine or the instamine or how it was launched or something. Either you need to deal with it or move on to a coin you like. Mitchellmint has been very open about the pre-mine and what he is doing with it. The moment he says one thing and does another then you can shout scam.

What everyone seems to forget is that we are all here from a history of a few years based on a crypto that we all praise and compare everything to as if it was the best launched coin so far. I don't often hear many people complaining about how it was instamined. I see people complain about the 10 BTC the dev will get 'IF' he cashed out. But he hasn't yet.  I have mined a lot of different coins as I am sure many people on this thread have, however, I have seen Mitchellmint work on various projects and they seem to have done well. That is why I chose to mine more of this coin than I do with many others. I have hope. Sometimes with other coins that hope has been crushed by the devs other coins I have done quite well with.

Crypto is always a gamble at the moment. That is something that we need to deal with. What needs to be changed is the way we are dealing with it.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CHARONscoin (CHCO) sha256d, scrypt, x11, x13 , scrypt on: July 06, 2014, 04:59:56 PM
Im soloing using 6X750ti using X13 , and the diff is only "difficulty_x13" : 0.24629718". Getting 650 CHC every 2 min. Got a 1/4 million over night. Anyone know what this crap is worth? Is it even traded yet?

Vegas

So you the one making it difficult for me...

Choose a different algorithm to mine with. x13 difficulty is low, so is groestl
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CHARONscoin (CHCO) sha256d, scrypt, x11, x13 , scrypt on: July 06, 2014, 11:19:43 AM
Nice, announcing a coin once more then 2500 blocks have been mined.

With all due respect, the dev didn't announce it here. It was on altcoincalender.info
The source and everything was available ages before the launch, the same as NEWO. So anyone could have mined those blocks before the announcement on here.

go to : https://github.com/sjmariogolf/CHARONscoin
click on the file: Windows_mingw_64_32_bit_wallet_daemon.zip
Click on : view raw

no need to complie. I tested it and works in windows already. There are no known pools, so youll have to solo, but diff is VERY low. Blocks pay 650 every few minutes using X13

If this is a new algorithm , why use x13 cpuminer

Multi algorithm, like saffron

Manage to get it working? If you did I would love some enlightenment. I think mig6r is right in a way but someone has worked around it.

command? as in 'getmininginfo'?

It's there and someone is mining them. It's bugging me now.

On SHA yes, but I'm talking the x11 and blake.

Proof of Work based. Mine using any of the 3 algorithms : sha256d(default), scrypt or groestl.

No X11, This dev has copied the SFR but not capable to fork with X11 like Saffron

Magic...

Edit: someone has worked it out, diff is slowly climbing.

I have tried many different combinations, is there a way to mine the x11? someone has figured it out and I am beyond all options. Some help please...
