361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A question on: May 08, 2017, 12:38:48 PM
It's one of the oldest "good" coins. It started very strongly because it was a trending meme. Such coins that stay alive are being pumped from time to time and some people profit.
Other than that, there's no actual reason for it to pump, the coin is abandoned by the developers.
Exactly. Doge started as a joke and as every joke/meme it had huge support from the community, people like fun stuff.
After the initial euphoria passed people still think it is fun to own DOGE and tip each other, but his coin has no future.
Infinite supply killed it IMO.
362  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: May 08, 2017, 12:29:00 PM
alcohol dulls the mind and creates negative thoughts and emotions as well as exposes you vulnerabilities, waste of time money and spirit.
I dulls the mind only for a brief time, as for the negative thought and emotions it is arbitrary.
People behave differently after use of alcohol, it is true that some can exhibit aggressive or negative behavior but that is not a norm.
As for the waste of money - a I guess expensive, luxury food or entertainment is a waste of money for you as well.
363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will Reach $3000 By The End Of The Year on: May 08, 2017, 12:08:09 PM
Probably. But we dont have enough facts to decide that.
All of this will just be speculation.
Predicting future price of bitcoin was always speculation and nothing more, even facts or news won't guarantee you that we reach certain price level.

There might be someone who will get lucky to predict it but yet that is all just luck.
I like the term "educated guessing" a bit more.

Looking at how Japan made progress with using the bitcoin technology it gave a larger chance for bitcoin to grew more in terms of value.
Maybe if 2 or more countries could do this that $3000 will be easy to achieve.
And that is what will most likely happen. See here: Russia's Finance Ministry Cryptocurrencies may be recognized in 2018 -
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-04-10/russia-caves-in-on-bitcoin-to-open-new-front-on-money-laundering
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you convince people into you using Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2017, 12:17:36 AM
I talked to my friends many times, some of them were more willing to listen about Bitcoin than others.
Conversation usually goes like this: I told them that Bitcoin is probably the best investment of our generation. In the end they all always ask me:
"Can you guarantee me that if I buy Bitcoin now it will be worth more tomorrow/next year".
When I reply that no one can 'guarantee' something like that, because bitcoin is not backed by central bank, my friends usually lose interest.

Also, it is still to complicated to buy BTC, to use standard exchange you need to be verified, it is troublesome, considered bad reputation bitcoin exchanges have.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think DOGECOIN is the future of Altcoins ? on: May 06, 2017, 11:53:50 PM

This evaluation of DOGE is outdated. It is the community keeping the whole of crypto alive. The market has already decided that DOGE will not only survive but will also flourish as it doing right now.

You will wait forever for it's final death but never see it. 109 billion coins is nothing. As crypto grows it may not even be enough. Remember that these are global currencies.

A few weeks ago people were saying the exact same thing about LTC and now it's everyone's darling. You need to realign how you see this industry.

DOGE will be one of many cryptos that will be the future of alts, like it or not.
Fiat money and cryptocurrency are not the same. Infinite amount of tokens of Dogecreated and quantitative easing are basically the same thing, and it is not good idea for crypto.

Litecoin was overshadowed by Bitcoin and it will be in the future too. Once Bitcoin will accept SegWit. I expect it to happen when people realize how good SegWit for LTC was.

Then the situation will be the same as before, traders and community will forget about LTC.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ETH overtake BTC in market cap? on: May 06, 2017, 11:47:47 PM
it will sooner or later
No it won't.

They only viable way for ETH to catch up with bitcoin would be situation where bitcoin development would be halted, scaling issues never addressed.
In short: if current idiocy of supporting Bitcoin Unlimited will continue for years then ETH will have chance.
But in the moment we will have SegWit and Lightning Network operational, BTC will be complete.
367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can reach 3000 USD in a year ? on: May 06, 2017, 11:38:32 PM
I am also thinking that the price of bitcoin will reach to that value because now the price of it is increasing much faster and if it continued like that then nothing will be able to stop it to reach to $3000. I am sure for that fact and because of that when I get some money I invest that in bitcoin and will wait for the time when the price will reach to $3000 or more above that.
Price increased only because Japan accepted BTC as legal tender. BTC hype in Japan has its limits.
We are not ready for growing adoption without proper scaling solution, without SegWit activated Bitcoin will be looked down by everyone.
If you want bigger money and quicker invest in alts. Bitcoin is investment only if can wait years for it to bloom.
368  Other / Off-topic / Re: is worth to buy bitcoins? on: May 06, 2017, 11:20:20 PM
No, not really. It's too little of an amount for Bitcoin at this point. There will be profit but IMO not justifiable. Because let's assume that buys you 2 BTC now, that will turn into 5000-6000 AT BEST after some years.
Look into other coins instead, such as Ethereum.
Ethereum is still more riskier that BTC. It is arguable that ETH's price is that low, considered that value of ETH was around $13 in March and now it is $100.
You base your assumption on hope that ETH will follow bitcoin path and grow to +$1000 and more while bitcoin will be only $5000 - this it is hard to predict.

My stance is: ETH should be your short trading position and Bitcoin long.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [vDice.io]►Ethereum Blockchain Gambling►►**New & Awesome Version of Site on: May 05, 2017, 11:57:12 AM
PoS discussion apart. Guys, it seems ETH has reached another new ATH (oh so many lately) and it is not the end for price gains.
I wonder if that enormous pump linked to bolstered altcoin market confidence (all top altcoins gaining!) is reflected on vDice platform?
It should be the best time to gamble, use lower amount of ETH, collect big wins, right?

370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency rank April 2017 - all major altcoins on: May 05, 2017, 11:30:04 AM
Bitcoin has a strong position but that can change in couple of years. Dont forget that there are many coins that are technologicaly more advanced than Bitcoin. However Bitcoin is unquestionable leader today
Bitcoin can be upgraded. I expect that we will reach scaling consensus when there will an absolute need for it.
If we talk about global economic network which is already established a better tech is not enough to kill BTC.
Another property of Bitcoin is IMO great initial distribution, all coins created after BTC were made to follow bitcoin price path.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most popular Altcoin? on: May 05, 2017, 11:07:29 AM
Define 'being popular'. Marketcap and token price or trading volume are obviously not the best indicators of popularity.
I would rather say that popular coins are projects which are known to wider group of people.
Popular Coin has media attention, we can read news about it in popular mainstream services.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Breakout New!!! ARK pump! on: May 05, 2017, 11:01:41 AM
Pump is now over Ark token dropped from $1.33 to $0.274206 Don't be lured by every pump which is going on right now.

It is easy to forget that most altcoins are still nothing more but pump and dump schemes and will never become anything more than that.
373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can reach 2017 USD by the end of the year ? on: May 04, 2017, 11:34:35 PM
CAD will be an easy job. USD however is the main point of importance for people.
Maybe it is time we should use Japanese yen to determine 'correct' Bitcoin's price? After all yens are top volume currency of bitcoin trading ATM.
Current Bitcoin's price in Yen = 171,700

I personally don't believe in an ETF approval, but if it miraculously gets approved this month, then we'll be touching $2000 within a month or two.
Unless some new BTC regulations and laws will be introduced, ETF won't be introduced in our present legal framework. It will denied over and over again.
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: This bubble will pop big on: May 04, 2017, 11:24:05 PM
$1800 today is where #2 lies. Indicators are strong for a new bubble to begin. Technically it looks its heading there, and the alt market is severely inflated too. A dump of bubbled alts could send BTC soaring beyond $1800, or good news regarding BTC scaling could too... And if the ETF somehow passes this time around, we're definitely going into a new bubble.
Altcoin market is crazy right now, basically every major coin is being pumped. That never happened before. It was alwys either BTC or altcoins, never both.
There is a possibility of reverse trend at some point: traders will sell BTC to purchase LTC or other altcoin because overwhelming good altcoin news.
ETF will be declined over and over again, nothing will change and only miracle will cause BTC to update its protocol.
375  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for team members on: May 04, 2017, 11:11:25 PM
Don't create a new coin, don't start an ICO. Definitely not with the current plan you have. Agriculture and cryptocurrency won't mix.
Definitely not when you only have rather vague idea what your plan is. Coins backed by real life assets had rough history.
Also I would avoid using term 'guaranteed' I've seen many coins which guaranteed something, usually it is a Repurchase Agreement.
They failed.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins rising on: May 04, 2017, 10:32:22 PM
I dont know if someone has noticed or not.
but both altcoins and btc are rising simultaneously....
I have never seen something like that. I monitor coinmarketcap.com and it it insane what is going on.
In top 50 coins there is only like 4 coins which registered a loss during last 24 hours.
ETH will soon reach $100, Litecoin is on its way to $30. Global fiat economic crisis is coming?
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with BTC transaction times?? on: May 03, 2017, 09:24:20 PM
I've been hearing horror stories about transaction times for months. Have I just been lucky??
These horror stories are usually told by newbies, or users completely unaware of how bitcoin transaction works.
They use old version of wallet or manually decrease fee to the lowest possible amount and as result we have massive number of underpaid transactions.
I am not saying that current high fees are OK, they certainly aren't but with proper fee your transaction will be confirmed very fast.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: LTC now on Coinbase on: May 03, 2017, 09:04:52 PM
Litecoin was in dormant state for years. Remember guys, all this recent restoration happened because of SegWit hype.
We have only 4282 blocks left until SegWit will be finally active. I can't wait to see how high price will be in a week.

PS. Imagine what will happen to price of BTC if miners would ever want to activate it for bitcoin? Mind blown...
379  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Japanese exchanges increasing on: May 03, 2017, 08:17:59 PM
Well, does it matter how many exchanges are in Japan? As long as there are reputable and secure exchanges available I would be glad.
I know that Japanese version of BitLicense is kinda harsh, so at this point it is safe to assume that every new/existing Japanese exchange will be similar to Gemini.

Interesting fact: Recently more than 50% of trading has taken place in Japanese yen, and only 28% in USD.
380  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Share & Comment on: May 03, 2017, 07:47:16 PM
