I haven't seen any year matching parity predictions will this be the first year that the Bitcoin price will match the year dollar for dollar in USD
1 BTC = 2017 or more?

CAD will be an easy job. USD however is the main point of importance for people. I personally tend to say no, but it's practically impossible to say anything with value when the market is going completely nuts. If we shift our focus to 2018, then the chances of seeing a year and USD parity become incredibly higher. I personally don't believe in an ETF approval, but if it miraculously gets approved this month, then we'll be touching $2000 within a month or two.

Maybe it is time we should use Japanese yen to determine 'correct' Bitcoin's price? After all yens are top volume currency of bitcoin trading ATM.
Current Bitcoin's price in Yen = 171,700

I personally don't believe in an ETF approval, but if it miraculously gets approved this month, then we'll be touching $2000 within a month or two.
Unless some new BTC regulations and laws will be introduced, ETF won't be introduced in our present legal framework. It will denied over and over again.

ETF review will be denied again. Just my speculation. Why would SEC approved it in their review? Anything particular that you have noticed? Touching $2000 is possible without ETF. Japan has been really leading the way for the price to really fly this high and $2000 is more likely in the end of the year.

Never thought in this way, this can also be nice idea to start up p2p betting. For example,

Will the bitcoin price will touch 2017 before end of 2017 AD.
Yes                               NO

I will definitely bet on YES.  Wink

Fortunately only 2017 and most probably 2018 might be having chances to match with bitcoin prices as next halving is scheduled to take place by mid of 2020, the year 2019 might be having prices in 5 digits. I am very much sure, 2017 will be going to have the price of $2017 for one bitcoin.

In wild guess by 2025, people will be writing here for matching prices for full format of date as prices will be trading in 6 digits. (4 digits to year and single digits for month and day each). Who knows ? Bitcoin may trade in 7 digits too to take more possibilities  Tongue

Well I didn't feel like doing shameless advertising but since you asked I did create a bet on betmoose since Bitcoin finally hit $1600 USD and passed a 2013 High target Tongue if no one asks don't mention it implied rules but if someone asks go ahead and share it since the BB code was designed for Bitcointalk in the first place lol. The stretch question is if it passes USD can it do Euro in the same year but that's not a bet till the USD one happens ha-ha.

As this is a speculative currency we can expect anything to happen at any time instance. Right now without any external influence or control the price seems to grow higher and higher. If the growth continues even after the days of Etf, it could easily reach $2000+

well according to me the price of bitcoins may surge more than 2017$,as the demand for bitcoins is increasing day by day ,and by that time it may reach 3000$.dont be surprised by that ,seeing the current scenario it might happen nearby soon.

it is certainly a possibility but i am afraid that very soon we are going to see a lot of bumps on the road to slow down our progress towards that target price. the ETF rejection, which is very possible, is one of the biggest ones. and lets not forget that the blocksize silliness is still there and it is still preventing us from moving on.
