Yea, old style. Wasn't worried so much about the security benefits of API method due to low capital at this point.

Hmm.. using the old style API here as well.

mine stopped around 14:30 PDT. Seems like that's an hour off from when your's stopped?

Actually, had the time wrong on mine, was 4:47 PM EDT.  Still doesn't match up exactly with yours, but close enough that I suspect we both got caught up in the same issue.

Still working fine here. Bots too.

Out of curiosity - are you using the "new style" API with a token, or the old style u/p API?

Strange.  I tried pw recovery but it just gave a blank response, no error, and hasnt sent any email. I dont have any withdrawal or pw change notices in my inbox or spam filter and so leaning toward something wrong on the gox side and not a compromise of my account.

Exactly the same thing here.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else having problems logging in to MtGox? on: November 03, 2011, 11:29:41 PM
It's not just you. I'm getting the same from web UI and from my bots that access through API. I havent changed my pw and it's strong and not used anywhere else!

Submitted support ticket. Hoping for the best.

It working for me does not rule out some issue, however. Just makes it strange, assuming epetroel was able to get back in with a password change..??

Tried to reset my password, but never got a password reset e-mail (checked spam as well).  Tried it with my username and e-mail address, but no dice either way.  I put in a ticket with support, but no response back yet.

At least the fact that someone else is having the same problem makes me feel like this is probably just a Gox screw up rather than actually being hacked.

Glad to see someone else is having the same issue.  My bots access through the API stopped working as well.

From the logs for my bot, looks like the problem started at 4:27PM EDT.

Thanks, got all of the above already aside from the Yubikey Smiley
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Anyone else having problems logging in to MtGox? on: November 03, 2011, 09:10:48 PM
Just tried to log in and got an invalid username/password error.  I'm certain I got the u/p right, and it was working fine just a couple hours ago.

Anyone else having problems, or is it just me?
368  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Intersango- new bank account, iceburg, GTC/FOK/IOC orders and site updates on: November 02, 2011, 07:51:59 PM
genjix -

I see something on the fees page about deposits/withdrawals via Paxum, but I don't see anything in the site UI that would enable me to use Paxum.

Is that still in the works? Or am I missing something?

I'm overhauling the deposits system, when I'm done paxum will be supported and nearly instant.

Very nice!  Looking forward to it.
369  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoins cheaper at Intersango? on: November 02, 2011, 04:40:12 PM
It probably has something to do with the bank issues - nobody can get GBP into Intersango.

I'd be doing it myself, but all I have there right now is USD Smiley

Me neither, I beginning to think they will never come out of "beta".
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else having a problem with a MTGox dwolla withdraw? on: October 27, 2011, 12:38:08 PM
Not dwolla, but having the same problem with Paxum right now.

They once again ran out of funds at Paxum so all withdrawals are delayed until at least the end of the week.  Same thing happened last week.  My guess is they are having the same cash flow issues at dwolla.

I realize that managing cash flow has got to be a pain in the butt for them, but its been ridiculously bad lately.

373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anyone reported bitcoin capital gains or losses on their taxes? on: October 26, 2011, 11:22:01 PM
How do you treat bitcoins you've mined differently than ones you purchased/earned ?

Treat it like a sole proprietorship (schedule C).  Your product is bitcoins, which you sell for a profit.  Any costs involved in that are deductible or depreciable against that profit (electricity, equipment, etc.)
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anyone reported bitcoin capital gains or losses on their taxes? on: October 26, 2011, 10:17:17 PM
If I've made anything by the end of the year (big if) I'd plan to report it as capital gains - just like I would if I were trading stocks, commodities or forex.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warning: Fake Casascius Physical Bitcoins website on: October 25, 2011, 05:36:02 PM
I would have suggested a DMCA takedown notice, but looks like the site is in Russia, so that wouldn't help.

Same suggestion and agree it might be usless in other countries. Though, it kinda depends on the host in RU and how convincing(preofessionl sweet talk) you can be with the company.

That aside, its pretty fugged up for someone to do....  Any of our usual Internet Detectives have any info on source?

   Cheers

Well, host is http://www.clodo.ru so that might be a good place to start.  Site is all in Russian though, so I can't make heads or tails of it.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warning: Fake Casascius Physical Bitcoins website on: October 25, 2011, 05:32:52 PM
Reported the site here:

http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/

If others do as well, it should help to get the site blacklisted by google, chrome, and probably other browsers as well

378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you all know who controls the central bank of France? on: October 22, 2011, 03:08:26 AM
Feels like you should have mentioned the Illuminati and the Trilateral Commission in there somewhere.
379  Economy / Trading Discussion / Possible MtGox Bug? on: October 22, 2011, 02:58:45 AM
I think I've noticed a bug on Mt. Gox, but figured I'd post it here to see if others have seen this or if I'm just imagining things.

If you have an order that gets split because of insufficient funds, and the part that you have funds for gets executed, the other part disappears.

So, for example, lets say you have an order to sell 100 BTC @ 2.50, but you only have 50 BTC in your account.  On the trades screen you'll see the order split in two - an "active" 50 BTC order and an "insufficient funds" 50 BTC order.  If someone bids 2.50 and the active 50 BTC of the order is filled, the "insufficient funds" part of the order will mysteriously disappear.

Anyone else notice this behavior?  I'm pretty sure I've seen it 5 or 6 times at least on my account over the past few weeks.
380  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tradehill Down? on: October 20, 2011, 03:19:53 PM
Any word on this?

I emailed them about it, got a reply that they are working on it, but no word on an ETA yet.
