361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much do you guys make off mining? on: January 23, 2013, 01:03:57 AM
You should be able to make just over 0.5BTC per day per GH/s at the current difficulty. I get 800MH/s and make ~0.45BTC/24hours at BTCGuild. Hashrate is approximate.
I must be doing it wrong because my 3.1Gh/s gets me about .5BTC/day +/-
You might want to double check those numbers Wink

For some reason, constitution decided to copy my post and post it as his own half a year later and bump a dead thread. Those interested in an update, this is my new statement:

You should be able to make just over 0.155BTC per day per GH/s at the current difficulty.
see E11 on this doc for an exact number: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlfvS-7vLyHjdGIyUjdDSFJsT2s5TWdIX3hNcWF5ckE#gid=0
I get 800-900MH/s and make probably ~0.12-0.13BTC/24hours on P2Pool. Hashrate is approximate and I have a 350MH/s decrease every time I game for the duration.
The last time I did actual calculations to check my income was last month. I took an average of my payouts for half a month from the middle of Dec. to the beginning of Jan. to check my payment average over 18 days. It was 0.138BTC/day at whatever the difficulty was at that point and my hashrate was closer to 900 at that time.

On a side note, for some reason, the last 4 payments I got through p2pool today were approx. 1.6x my normal payments and neither my hashrate nor the network's hashrate has changed significantly nor has the difficulty dropped.

ohh just noticed this now. When did I become a "full member" Smiley

As for MOORE, I don't believe I had anything with them but I can't be sure. For the same reason I used that one multi-address. Just something to play around with.

Sorry, I forgot to mention my first card is a 6950

That was a fun read after. Cool game. So everyone won 0.01? The address in my sig is valid.

I would like to see this project continue to try to move forward. It doesn't matter how long it takes.
366  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: A Guide to Mining in 2013. on: January 18, 2013, 08:46:19 PM
You might want to consider checking your essay over once more for spelling, grammar and clarity.
I do, however, like the idea behind having a guide published per year.

You also might want to consider doing additional research.

Ah, thank you. I suspected that but wasn't sure since I had used the address for various other things too. I also was not notified about it by email.
368  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Address 14DumMEnKYtebNWJjf1VhPmxCYeBbT2V3n ? on: January 18, 2013, 11:55:47 AM
Does anyone know anything about bitcoin address 14DumMEnKYtebNWJjf1VhPmxCYeBbT2V3n?
I recently received two very small transactions from this address.

Motion to make a small(20BTC or less) GPU hardware purchase. This would include the company's reinvestment fund(.83BTC) + up to 19BTC from the treasury.

With the delay of the company's ASIC mining hardware, it will become increasingly difficult to maintain an attractive APY to attract additional investors without expanding mining hardware. Capacity exists to add one or two additional GPUs without incurring expenses beyond the GPUs themselves. With careful selection it should be possible to increase hashrate and therefore dividends by 30-40% in the short term with a small investment at this time.

As the company's contract specifies funds be used for the bulk purchase of ASIC hardware, I seek shareholder approval for this proposed purchase.

Which GPUs? Where will they be purchased? How will they be added to the existing setup?

In addition, as an investor, I would like to request that additional details be updated and included in the well-presented google doc, such as more exact hardware setup and current mining status (ie, mining LTC or BTC currently?). What are the operating expenses? (electricity etc. inc AC, if applicable). Pictures of the working setups would be a welcome bonus.

Thanks.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bit-Pay for Mining? on: January 09, 2013, 08:30:28 PM
We have now launched this service.  Limits apply $1000 USD per day, but anyone mining that much in a day probably already has a cashout system figured out

https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-mining-payouts

We also support bitcoin to bank deposits to 9 other countries

https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-direct-deposit

This looks to be an interesting service. How do I sign up as a non-merchant to access this service? the signup currently redirects to the merchant sign up.
372  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Pick a number. Get some bitcoins. Free to play. on: January 06, 2013, 02:57:16 AM
Problem is, if I guess now, I most likely will lose. But if I wait for 6-8 other people to guess first, or wait until the possible numbers left are much lower, I have a much better chance since you are posting if the number is greater than or less than the previously guessed number each time. I wonder if that's what the 48 other people who read this thought?

However, since I probably won't be returning to this thread, I shall guess now. 69?

Uhh all I got was a picture of a flower and the words "My Site".  It looks pretty nice though.
Same. When I right click and download the file from the link, it downloads but is not a valid pdf file.
374  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Promoting P2pool with my signature on: January 03, 2013, 07:42:41 PM
I love it. I will paste the exact code I use in my first post. If anyone else is interested in adding a signature to promote P2pool, I will also have a list that I will keep updated in my first post of all the suggested signature so anyone else can use them if they want to.
375  Bitcoin / Pools / Promoting P2pool with my signature on: January 03, 2013, 05:16:21 AM
I've recently switched over all my miners to p2pool.
I would like to promote p2pool with my signature and need cool ideas:

requirements:
-must include the p2pool thread link (remember you can turn words into links)
-must be only one line
-must promote p2pool
-must be something anyone can put in their signature
-on a side note, if anyone knows of a way to hide text in this forum where you must click a button to view the rest, please let me know.

My current signature (thanks DeathAndTaxes)

Don't you love your pool's high fees and delayed payouts? If you like getting paid 100% of what you earn then try p2pool?  (p2pool support)

376  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 30+ Mhs drop adding a second card on: January 03, 2013, 04:22:44 AM
So did you manage to figure out the problem?
I recently encountered this in windows 8 under cgminer 2.9.7
6950 went from ~360 to 338 when I added a 5770 in the second slot. Note also that I used to have a 6450 hashing in the second slot before. At first I suspected heat, but the rate doesn't hit what it did before even when it's still warming up. I haven't tested mining on just the 6950 yet.

Their site is hosted here:
http://www.1and1.com/

Sometimes hosting companies have a terms of service and you can get sites taken down for breaking them. I don't see anything obvious and don't have the time to look right now.

Interesting how their certificate is a 3 year but they only registered the domain on Dec. 13th for 2 years.

I would spend it on the wallet and leave it there.

thanks Wink
