I have successfully zapped my 6 x Sapphire RX480s rig with Heliox/Eliovp's "low power" rom mods and got 29MHs per card. My rig now 174-175MHs, from 135-136MHs .... exactly what I am looking for - more hash, less power. I am expecting a lower power consumption too - so i want to also measure the power draws. Too bad, I couldn't get a kill-o-watt with me today, but will bring one tomorrow and report the power and amps. I documented the whole flashing sequence, so that can share to all. I don't know if it will work on everybody's build but as long as 480 reference, it should be ok. Refer to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1584617.msg16088056#msg16088056That's a killer ! Any idea how much I could squeeze from some RX 470, since they're cheaper and more available it seems ? I'd like to diversify my machine choice by after buying a 1070 buying a new AMD.

As soon as I receive my SSD to power my 1070 setup, I'll test this out and post the results here.

I've saw it, and of course downloaded it. What I'd love would be if you could cover ETC through Nanopool, because you'll make me come back to ETH just because of your application ?

what is your electricity? you can easily make $200(net) a month with a 6 x 480 mining ethereum and spending around $2k fpr the rig
That's surprising to see you praising AMD ! I would have recommended him a build with 6x 1070 if its electricity rate is high.

It is maybe theorically possible to remove the funds, but I doubt much about it since many sportsbookies and casino accept the deposits after 0 confirmations. In case of, wait 1, then you're 99% safe I guess.

First, they're very hot. Also, did you tried to reinstall Windows ? On a bad quality HDD, when I turned off the system, I would block like you. If you find this too painful, you can also try to run the GPUs in another rig, since you have several. All of this is to make sure that they're really dead. Did you downclocked or overclocked it ?

Frankly, I don't see how the hell he may find an alternative to the full nodes system validating all the transactions. How would be the chosen the good and the bad ones ?

Unfortunately, I fear that most people do not care at all of which one is the best and only care about which one will give them the most money .

Those guys are the ones that invent problems to make sure that no PSU is ever perfect. I, as an enthusiast miner, find them pretty reliable and price valuable.
|
|
|
Take my reference setup :
-Intel G1820 -ASRock H97 Anniversary -HyperX Fury 8 Go -WD 120 Go (or something like that) -Lepa MaxBron
You're under 300$ with that ! I think it can be more optimised again if you take 4 or 6 Go of RAM but I wouldn't try given the low discount you would get.

The base of Magi mining isn't to the rush to the hashrate, or the "rat race" how they call it, but leaving your CPU at low stress running everytime you're on your computer, such as 10%.

|
|
I use a couple of Lepa MaxBron and I'm very satisfied of them. I pick random risers, USB and non-USB on Amazon, just by the reviews and the look of the product.

I'm not able to find any graph that shows the actual difficulty. I can get the actual one, but I'd like a graph from the genesis of the difficulty. Anyone got that or might create that for me ?

It is better not put your egg in the same basket when it comes to ETH and ETC. Both could prosper my guess
mETH heads doesnt know that, they are heavily in ETH and they think the other side is heavily in ETC.... there are no other investments for them. I have some Ethereum in my wallet. I have sold all my ETC. That is because somebody owns 3.6 million ETC and could crash the price. You know that some people owns 3,6 millions ETH too, right ? And that they could dump it the same way, right ? While teh DAO attacker might get its coins frozen, those ones won't have any problem to dump them. Since the Ethereum Foundation (ETH) tried to dump stolen ETC, we know that the DAO attacker will be under the spot.

I have big R9 380s that work very fine with qualitative risers coming from Amazon. Ebay is full of crap so don't get surprised ...

For hosting and utilizing open air and risers this case works great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EGREBKMJust buit two of them myself, pretty nifty design Idea as the vents face up as a lot of server racks exhaust at the top As a bonus they give you 6 usb risers free, plus a power button and a cool little case with all the screws and mobo standoffs That's so expensive ! Even though I use a horizontal build, if you want to use such a type of cases, you should better take some planks, a good old handscaw, some nails and an hammer. Then you're fine for a near free case ! If you're a lazy rich man, you can even buy little square planks that do not need to be cut .

I can't help you by telling you on what subject to work. I can however give you ideas on a particular subject if you wish so, as long as I know it a bit.

-ASRock PRO BTC H97 Anniversary : 84,99$ -Lepa MaxBron 1000W : 109,99$
You also need risers to use that setup, which you did NOT include in your pricing. For a mining-specific build, might be a good setup, though I suspect I could shave a few $$ off the total price - and I'm not impressed with anything I've read about the long-term reliability of the LEPA power supplies vs. EVGA G2 series or especially Seasonic X-series. I do agree with you on the "don't worry about an exit strategy" option, as I've already got long-term plans in place for all the machines I'm currently mining Ethereum with. To don't fake the prices of the setup, I usuallt include price of the risers (about 10$ each) in the price card in my ROI plans.

Phil, I'll never understand your logic. Why taking such high end parts ? A platform costs me less than 300$, PSU included ! However, fitting all in a case is a genius move. I'll see if I can do the same for my next one ! Also, you know, risers increased a lot in quality in four years, and now, on Amazon, there's a lot of reliable risers. Never got deceived of any of mine.
hello redrose can share your 300 dollar rig? -Intel G1820 : 43,14$ -ASRock PRO BTC H97 Anniversary : 84,99$ -Kingston HyperX 8 Gb : 39,99$ -Lepa MaxBron 1000W : 109,99$ -Western Digital Caviar Blue 320 Gb : 20,99$ --------------------------------------------------- TOTAL : 299,1$

Exit strategy... It is easier to sell higher end parts to gamers when you're done using the cards for mining. It might sounds a good plan, but depending of where you live, reselling parts may be a real pain. I prefer to go cheaper and keep it, that'll always be useful in some way.
