so the first hour is done with just over 970 BTC in volume, (if you convert NXT and BTCD). HO-LEE-SHIT!
how do you figure this? i am very interested in this statistic

Hmm... that was interesting (as predicted / discussed earlier): After careful deliberation, we have decided to not participate in the SuperNet ICO. I understand that a large community is excited about SuperNet, and since we were initially announced as the ICO host, I wanted to take a moment to explain how we came to arrive at this decision. For the past couple of days, we’ve been in discussions with our attorneys about hosting the SuperNet ICO. As several community members pointed out in this very thread, the sale of SuperNet tokens could be interpreted as the sale of unregistered securities. Our attorneys came to the same conclusion and have since advised us against taking part in the SuperNet ICO for this reason. Further, one of our ICO requirements is identity verification (https://www.poloniex.com/icoRequirements); this requirement exists to protect investors and to lend credibility to the ICO. Despite several attempts to convince James the importance of revealing his identity, we were ultimately unable to reach an agreement that satisfied both parties. We needed time for due diligence, to carefully assess the legal implications of taking part in SuperNet, and also the time to set up our backend systems to support it. James was very eager to get this going, however, so he chose to go with another host before we could communicate to him our findings and final decision. We have since communicated with James, and we wish him the best of luck. This worries me more. If he wanted to set up something legitimate, why doesn't he want to reveal his identity? Personally if I invested in this I would be more confident and less worried if I knew the identity of the man who set it up. I believe he is worried about personal safety. I don't know what his plans are for crypto, but he has expressed a distrust for the powers that be... understandably so. we are not talking about opening a supermarket chain here, but rather revamping the financial industry. some may not like this just a perspective...not right nor wrong

Both jl777 and BTER are idiots.
Poor newb traders..
yes...poor traders who didn't take the time to understand what the price was set at. poor traders who blindly threw BTC at an overpriced asset can't have much sympathy for them..but they will complain and leave a stain on supernet. this is why we can't have nice things!

This is total chaos, many peeps not happy will be well, i think some people need to be a bit more meticulous about what price they are buying in at...it is their fault for not exercising patience. there was no need for a stampede, but we are seeing people get run over for no good reason. it's like black friday sales in the USA at walmart. People trip and fall in the rush and get stomped on...actually being physically injured. except in that case, there is a limited supply! there is no limit here. makes no sense. O shit ... Bter told me the market price was 0.01790000. I buy at that price, five minutes later almost halve at 0.01090000 I lost a shitload of BTC over this. How can this happen! Bter should refund everyone who bought for higher prices, this is inacceptable. that is your fault! it was very clear what the price was going to be.

Questions: Answers Would be very be very useful for those of us not up to speed with the terminology surrounding this. This is really basic info that simply isnt easily available/understood. Most information is entwined with a fair amount of tech talk buried in posts within posts of quoted posts. So, if anyone can answer these it would be appreciated.
1: If I purchased with BTC I receive a 5% discount, but not with BTCD. Is that correct?
2: The purchased tokens can exhibit the same value fluctuations as any other crypto?
3: The income from this sale is used to buy other Cryptos which are to become part of the superNET.
4: Or is it the income generated will be held in Escrow by some individuals. But held for what purpose.
you don't get a 5% discount with BTC. you do with NXT/BTCD

If I am such competition why am I so happy I help BBR 10x in a week? Please understand crypto is in expansion phase, there are no competitions inside crypto, only fiat is the competition
I jus know that UNITY is better than this name callings Edit: I have nothing constructive or helpful to say in response. i wish more people would share this honesty! it is very irritating to sift through the flame war that is so rampant in some of these threads

Apologies if this has been discussed already. I've been out of circulation for a fortnight with almost no web access. I'm curious about the economic effect of the ipo.
Ethereum has been blamed for sucking btc out of the system and causing a brutal bear market in the alts. Would this be the reverse of that? Btc used to buy selected anon-alts, significantly boosting their prices. Plus the supply/demand effect of tying up thousands of btc-worth of coins in cold storage. Alts like Litecoin get hit both ways - sold as a vehicle to buy SuperNET shares and then excluded from joining the network.
Thoughts?
i think coins lacking innovation will suffer, which is good in my opinion. like you said, coins that aren't part of SN might be sold by people looking for funds to invest with. some people will reject this, ie hodlers of forks. they will write off SN as some giant "ponzi scheme" or whatever terminology. which is also good; the crypto world doesn't need people who are afraid of change. we're seeing technological innovation in this specific sector happening extremely fast (EXTREMELY!!). i think we'll see a fair amount of people and coins get flushed out with the advent of SN adapt or perish...
