361  Economy / Economics / Re: Italian bank problems and bitcoin on: August 01, 2016, 11:02:38 AM
I am on for a bet on further depreciation of the Euro. We saw some recovering from the Euro on Friday but only because the US GDP for the 2nd quarter was slightly lower than expected. Once the market absorb this news which I think it will starting from tomorrow the Euro will continue to depreciate. Even if the Italian bank crisis doesn't unfold soon still the euro will depreciate. The EU is with negative interest rates while US is on positive ones. It all depends from the politics of the central banks to know how the course of the currencies will go, the currency which has a positive interest rate should logically be more strong than that with a negative interest rate.

When the Italian bank problem materialises, the Euro will depreciate a lot as the Italian economy is big.
362  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: August 01, 2016, 11:01:24 AM
i think bitcoin will be powerful currency in the world, but its impossible that bitcoin is becoming a global currency and it is impossible that china ,US,Malaysia etc adopt bitcoin instead their own currency , bitcoin is just crypto currency which is recently just use for online purchasing .
but i think china personally support bitcoin too much, and adopting bitcoin or becoming a global currency does not mean that the use of fiat currency will come to zero. from becoming global currency mean that people will mostly use bitcoin instead of fiat curry because it will more convenient for them. i think in present time there will be a few countries where people may not using bitcoin. and hope that the ratio is increasing day by day.

Criminals will like the fiat more than the bitcoin. Fiat cash is anonymous and untraceable. The bitcoin is traceable.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Ethereum actually the only cryptocurrency worth GPU mining? on: August 01, 2016, 11:00:01 AM
Miners are also mining other profitable coins such as Feathercoin, Vertcoin, Siacoin and Decred, anything profitable.

Miners are mainly mining the Ethereum as that one has the biggest market cap and there are more buying.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think Ethereum will be finished after this attack on: August 01, 2016, 10:58:43 AM
I heard that the ETC will hard fork itself and that could avoid the replay attack. That might make it last long.

If the ETC hard fork, there will ETC and ETC Classic ETCC again. That will be very interesting to observe.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should Ethereum and DAO be bought now? on: August 01, 2016, 10:57:29 AM
the Dao dies with the hack and now ethereum may dies with it too but since ethereum is so much bigger and has a lot of whales in it, so it can survive a lot longer.
also now is the time for etc to be pumped a lot.

These whales are not believers of the Ethereum. They will just chase the profit and kill the Ethreum  if necessary.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 31, 2016, 08:06:43 AM
I would like to take the time to thank the OP for this fantastic new coin.  I mine and collect cryptocoins.  I actively mine 7 different coins at the moment and control the keys to around 12 different cryptocoin wallets, inc, ETH and the new original ETC as well as many others.

@OP Thanks bud, I have had a wonderful time mining and collecting your coins.  You are good at computing but your game theory sucks!  You had the opportunity to finish your degree until Peter Thiel tempted you to drop out of university for a measly sum of $100,000.

I had to drop out of university in the final year of my BSc (Hons) because both the cost of tuition fees and transport costs forced me into Bankruptcy.   I would have loved to have had my Honors Degree and Bachelor of Science.  I was only 9 months away from passing with First Class Honors.

Well what's done is done. I'm a miner now and my game theory is better than yours.  I have had so many sh*ts and giggles over ethereum.  The entertainment value has been priceless but boy you are dumb!

But what times do we live in where money has become more important than wisdom, knowledge, education and enlightenment?

You are half Russian and you let capitalism own you! You are young. I am old.  But here is a message from this mad old woman... remember this; all the money you make... it will never buy back your soul.  Get your ass back to school, you need to work harder on that Game Theory of  yours, knowledge is not wisdom.

My concern is ... where is Vitalik ? last login was a month ago Last Active:    June 30, 2016, 03:12:02 AM
from my exp this is not a good sign..

Most of all serious Dev's don't use this forum, at least not much.
So, it's not a sign at all. He is active: https://www.reddit.com/user/vbuterin

That's something I really like about him. He is very communicative. Also on twitter: https://twitter.com/vitalikbuterin?lang=eng

"Most of all serious Dev's don't use this forum, at least not much. "

Unless it's to sell the premine...

I found https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/ is more useful for cetain information and intellegent discussion.
367  Economy / Economics / Re: Next generation money on: July 31, 2016, 08:04:32 AM
They rare going to make a new form of money in the future and I believe that everything is going to be digital which is both positive and negative at the same time.
I hope that they are not going to rush things because I do not think we are ready for such a big change.

I think this blockchain technology is the starting point and with the advent of bitcoin, shall we say 20 years from now or less more improvement on the system and more bugs is fixed and more problems is addressed. Its a good start, slowly but surely we are getting there into the future. Smiley

With almost all transactions being digital then bitcoin may be the next generation money. With the advancement of technology and the bitcoin gaining popularity then people may opt to use digital money in the future since fiat currency is losing its value. For now, there are still so many people not aware of it but as time pass by, maybe a major event that will happen and made bitcoin popular even for those people that are not into technology and just stick to the old ways and it may convince them to use bitcoin then may be change has really come during this time.

Unlike Bitcoin, fiat can also be used in offline transactions (as paper money and specie). This is a great advantage, and unless Bitcoin somehow solves this "last mile problem", it will continue to remain inferior to fiat (in this respect). And even the theoretical possibility of resolving this issue is vague...

Since it would contradict the very concept of blockchain (I mean offline transactions)

That is right. Fiat cash is also anonymous. It can be a good tool in underground transaction without being detected.
368  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: July 31, 2016, 08:03:09 AM
bitcoin if the price reaches $ 1000, maybe a lot of the media will begin to re-find information and disseminate information about bitcoin. if it teresbar to the whole world, and received a positive response from the public, of course it will have a positive impact on bitcoin, and bitcoin can only be received in every country in the form of legal, and it makes it a global currency by itself

That is right. But the bitcoin price is not ready to be $1000 yet. The adoption level is too low at the moment.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should Ethereum and DAO be bought now? on: July 31, 2016, 08:00:25 AM
We can wait for a few days. If the hard fork proceeds well, and the price rises as a result, we might buy some.

The hard fork proceeded very well. We have two chains now, the ETH and ETC. The combined value is higher.

If there are two chains, it means the hard fork did not proceed well. If it worked, one chain should be dead.

There is no need to worry about that. In a few months, when the DAO hacker dump his coins, one chain will die.

This will not happen. It will be stupid for the attacker to dump all his coins now. It will only create risk of getting caught. He will wait and slowly sell little by little without upsetting the market which is the smarter move.

As long as there is a possibility that the hacker will dump the Ethereum, the ETC price will not rise.

I mine the ETC when the profit is higher than other coins. But I sell it straight away as it is too risky.
370  Economy / Economics / Re: Italian bank problems and bitcoin on: July 31, 2016, 07:59:14 AM
Seeing financial crisis or not within this year is not actual fact that can pump the bitcoin price because the recent greece financial crisis and brexit haven't affected the bitcoin price much as expected.

However if bitcoin can be brought down to even small level of citizens like farmers, local merchants and even a tea shop in every country than they may start saving in bitcoin rather than in their banks creating high demand of bitcoin and price may get pumped hard. And this can also save them from lossing all they have during such financial crisis in their country.

The financial crisis will not affect the bitcoin price too much. The bitcoin price is too volatile is too risky itself.
371  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: July 30, 2016, 11:08:05 AM
bitcoin is a global currency. It is being used in most of the countries without the border limitation. What else can it be? But I don't think these happy days will last forever.

Most of the governments are not aware of it and hence they don't bother. But if they see that people are becoming rich using their computers, then they will start intervening. Probably then people will have to pay taxes to the government for earning and holding bitcoin.
I bet you are wrong buddy, the government are already aware of bitcoins and in fact in our country the central bank has issued a memorandum directing all exchange sites to comply with the KYC policy to avoid and to detect any activity of money laundering.

That is great. If the bitcoin cannot be used for money laundering, it will enhance its repution as a good currency.
372  Economy / Economics / Re: Italian bank problems and bitcoin on: July 30, 2016, 11:06:45 AM
if that news talk about China, maybe it will give an affect for bitcoin price. where there is the bigger population that using bitcoin.
but Italy? i think no. there's no effect.

The Italian banking crisis could affect the Euro price. It will drag down the Euro and people will buy bitcoin.

374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Ethereum actually the only cryptocurrency worth GPU mining? on: July 30, 2016, 11:03:33 AM
The Ethereum is quite profitable to mine. I heard that many bitcoin users are buying the Ethereum now, so the price is high.

When the Ethereum price is high, people will mine it to make some profits. Miners will chase the most profitable coin.
375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin up or down on: July 30, 2016, 11:02:13 AM
i think bitcoin is going up. and the reason is very simple, most of the people are not going to sell their bitcoin and every in in struggle to hold it in hope that the price will increase. on other side new people are entering in the world of bitcoin and they are trying to buy bitcoin. so the demand is increasing day by day, therefore the price of bitcoin are going up.

That might be true in the past. People are disappointed about the slow transaction of the bitcoin at the moment.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Italian bank problems and bitcoin on: July 28, 2016, 03:50:28 PM
The next financial crisis could happen next year when the Britain declares Euro exit and financial institutions move out of UK.

The bitcoin price rose many times in 2013 due to the financial crisis in Europe. This time, it could also rise a lot.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: July 28, 2016, 03:48:59 PM
was it something to do at the fork to have our ethers on both chains ?

I think so. The appearance of the ETC has an effect on the ETH mining profit. Some times, it is more profitable to mine ETC.

The ETC price is too volatile. When you sell your mined coins, it will be less profitable. So after a while, not many people will mine it.

At this moment, mining ETC is 50% more profitable than mining ETH. But we do not know the profitability when you sell ETC.
378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin up or down on: July 28, 2016, 03:46:24 PM

Yes i also expect bitcoin price gonna grow up within some months pretty quickly.Dont know if i can make any money from it because i dony have much bitcoin right now.But if anyone can buy then he should buy it pretty quickly now.
Yea we will see those price fast movement of the price of bitcoin these coming months because we already a new level of bitcoin or the block rewards is already been half and our supply should be decrease so the price movement will be fast if bitcoin will be in demand again.

I think the bitcoin price will rise about 40% in the next few months after 3 months long of the consolidation.
i dont think that this is going to happen, actually the price should grow even more, in 3 months we will see a new all time high i hope

I do not think so. All time high could be reached in the middle of next year. This year could be only 1000.
379  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Predictions on: July 28, 2016, 03:45:03 PM
I love the fact that we are so close to the 700 dollar barrier...

Even 2016 seems a strong year for btc, halving was a good promo, and a lot of company are behind the door...

My prediction for this year it's simply: we can touch easily 1000$ or more this year, wait until nov-dec and you can see this good increase

well this should be year of bitcoin for sure resistance is strong for now on 700 but it will go up for sure after month or two it will go over 800 possible to hit over 1k by end of year

The year end bitcoin price will be between $900 to $1000. If there is some very good news, the price will be higher.

That could happen. The price of bitcoin is around $650 for a few weeks already. It will jump to $900 in the next few months.

Adoption is growing, good news

yeah adoption is growing and with that bitcoin is growing in value and in establishment, especially in this year when the rate of adoption was much higher people from all over the world came to invest in bitcoin in order to earn profit with halving.
The adoption has increased due to the recent good news of bitcoins, the new adopters are amazed with our journey as of this year, we have seen the price of bitcoins has doubled already for this year and that what makes the new players attracted to invest.

What are the news you refer to? How do you know the adoption has increased? I thought the price is stable now.
