362  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC BTC refunds list - v2.0 on: March 19, 2013, 12:18:15 PM
this is starting to get really painful. BTC just hit $53 each... Tom is clearly waiting for the price to keep going up before paying out remaining BTC refunds. I submitted by request for refund over 2 months ago. The 244 BTC I paid will get returned to me in the form of just over 50 BTC even if he refunded me now. So I'm just supposed to take a loss of $10,000+ while not having access to my funds for half a year? This is unacceptable. I only live 4 hours away from where Tom supposedly lives, I'm really tempted to drive up there.

To start off my reply I am going to say that I too had units pre-ordered. 5 of them.
As Tom has stated the website you purchased the bASIC units from displayed prices in USD. Since that is the case when you paid in bitoins you take the price of the unit divided in USD by the market price of BTC at the time of purchase. That determines how many bitoins you paid. Just because Tom didn't deliver a product doesn't mean you entitled to a refund worth over ten grand. Had tom actually shipped the bASIC product and then you decided you wanted a refund do you really expect him to take a $10,000.00 loss? Before you decide to rant and rave on the forums you should put yourself in his shoes and really think if you ran this project and you had failed and you wanted to make things right would you refund person X the amount they paid in BTC or USD?

You bought a product in USD with bitcoins. Therefore you will get the same amount in USD back. The fact that Tom is even trying to refund his customers is good for the bitcoin community.

Squall, We just verified that MAC does not have control over the address that you sent the funds too. I am sending you a PM.

Thanks,
Ascension
364  Economy / Lending / Re: -account compromised- on: March 17, 2013, 01:54:52 PM
Mac has logged on since and not written to me or posted anything, Something is not right, If a hacker then why return to the scene of the crime, If not, Why is mac quiet? I shall warn everyone away untill this is sorted.

Also, Why use a vanity address? and the coins have not moved since?

Squall, MAC's account should be locked/banned by the MOD's until he can prove ownership of the account. The hacked posted another thread in the long term loans and maybe logged in to see if he had any responses to that thread to steal even more? If you would like MAC to call your IRL send me a PM with your phone number and he will give you a call. I am posting on his behalf because his account is currently locked out.

Thanks,
Ascension

Well, I have been had for the last time, So I have decided to leave the BTC community, I shall take some time to wind up my business here with other people, and I shall go, I have a list of everyone who owes me money over the years, If the law cant handle it, I will.

This is due to the last loan by MAC who said his account got compramised, Then as soon as the loan went through, He logged on his account saying it was not him, LOL, He obviously has had trouble paying someone and needed quick cash, In any case, His secuirity was naff, Either way he is resposible for his account actions. As is everyone else.

The fact is BTC is a wonderfull thing, The problem is there are alot of people who don't want it to work, And bringing us down from the inside, I cant fight any longer on the forums, I have reams of logs, Details and I.P's I shall fight this offline.

I with to thank all the genuine people on here for supporting me, And I wish you well for your struggle in the future.

All the best
Squall1066

P.S. I won't lock this thread as I wish you all to see the comments this creates and really see what kind of community your all involved with.

Squall, the real MAC and I are working on getting this resolved. He did not login to his account after you sent the funds. I happened to be browsing the lending section of the forums and saw that he had some posts. I started looking at them and the information on there didnt match up. I called him immediately to determine if he had made the posts. He said that he had been out and about all day and that he did not make any posts. He said that his facebook account was also hacked last night. I immediately contact a mod to get the threads locked and his account disabled. MAC does not have any issues paying anyone. His account was simply hacked. Should have more info to post in the next half hour or so.

Thanks,
Ascension

Ive done a few searches for this, just haven't found anything definitive. So, I ask here...What does "no free outputs to spend" mean? All transactions cleared, but I am trying to send .008 btc. Is there a min amount or something?
Confused. And, has this wallet been experiencing problems? Does it happen alot? I'm about to make my first btc purchase, and I don't want to put them in a problem wallet.
Thanx.

Blockchain has a default transaction fee. If you have 0.008 BTC and you are trying to send 0.008 BTC + 0.0005BTC transaction fee you do not have enough. You should be able to edit the transaction fee to zero.
Hopefully that helps!
367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best online wallet on: March 17, 2013, 04:26:00 AM
Blockchain.info is the easiest to use and most accessible. They offer 2 factor authentication.

Instawallet charges its users for using their service and they have control over all the funds.

The safest wallet is a paper one. You can generate a paper waller here www.bitaddress.org

From BTCQuick:
This account has been comprised. I just talked to MAC in real life and he did not post these threads.
Wow, and I was planning to lend him some btc on btcjam.. Dodged a bullet right there thanks to confirmations

Is his btcjam account compromised?

Actually, is his account even compromised? Or pretend to be and run away with 24 btc?

I was browsing the lending forums when I saw MAC's post's. I immediately called him and asked him if he made the post's and he said no. His facebook account was also hacked. I know MAC IRL.

His btcJam loan is still valid. MAC is working on changing all his passwords for all his accounts.

MAC & I will never post anything requiring a BTC loan ASAP. This should have been the first indication that the post was fishy. As soon as MAC regains control of his account he will post a response to this mess.

Looks like their phone number is no longer working... disconnected or do you think they ran with all the money they scammed from people?
375  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin-Financial.com on: March 13, 2013, 06:27:55 PM
I just checked your website out. Some of the images on the slideshow were not working and there are visible notches on some of the pictures where they were cut and pasted in. The images in the "payments accepted" section are stretched and pixelated from where they were copied and forced to fit in a space where they couldn't fit. "Payments accepted" also feels like it's worded awkwardly (like much of this post of mine, lol). A couple of the buttons at the bottom of the page aren't formatted correctly either, I think.

I'm not trying to sound mean when I say this, but your website is very poorly designed. If you're being honest about having made $10,000... well, I would invest some of that in a web designer.

$10,000 in sales is not $10,000 in profit. According to BitcoinINV he makes 5% on his sales. so he has made $ 500.00.

Been waiting all day for membership verification. I keep going back to the FAQ just for a laugh and to read the question :

How long does it take to process the verification for my Bronze Membership?
Verification takes around 5-10minutes. We will notify you via email when your membership has been activated.

5-10 mins huh...?

First verification I sent was a bill with my name and address, after almost 8 hours it was declined. Sent another application with a scan of my State Driver's license,  and been waiting over 6 hours... God I swear the Bitcoin gods are punishing me..

5-10 minutes is the typical time frame if google checkout instantly approves your payment. In your case your payment was not approved until 2 hours after you submitted your order. We have sent you an email regarding your membership. If you have any issues please send us an email or give us a call.
