361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Trading Thread for Nxt :: Descendant of Bitcoin on: November 27, 2013, 12:07:44 PM
Writing this post for bybitcoin who offered to sell me 400k Nxt for 0.25 BTC.

He will need to reply here with a BTC address for me to send to.

I will then send 0.125 BTC to his address in exchange for 200K Nxt and post the BTC transaction here.

After that is successful I will proceed with the second half of the trade.
Good approach: here is my btc address: 1FnzXa7ZStYUiKn3fexcjyp2hhBMfotxHp
When I see the first confirmation, I ll send you the coins!

0.125 BTC Sent!

Transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/4796eb869730495f40237f0228123e3fcb75f33d946faa6e85add97da84fec21

My Nxt address: 5284005903590116058
Though it still shows unconfirmed on the blockchain.info, but I've already sent 200K Nxt your way.
Please confrim it when they arrived in, and also start the second payment!

Pool mining is not advisable at this point: the coin is very young, not enough users yet, and pool mining might lead to monopoly or possibility of 51% attack or...  When we have +10K users then we may start thinking about that!
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Announcements for Nxt (the first pure POS coin) on: November 27, 2013, 11:14:02 AM
@cunicula

Do u mind if I pay u in advance? (I may lose these coins or someone could stole them). Post here ur account id if u don't.
That's a good idea. I can also pay you in advance. Cunicula post your address and I ll send you 300k.
We can trust you for completing the whitepaper!
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Announcements for Nxt (the first pure POS coin) on: November 27, 2013, 11:01:29 AM
@bybitcoin

Where should I transfer the 150K to?
Sending you my 150K part...
I guess you can keep them yet, I trust your promises and I have the 1M Nxt backup myself!
When Cunicula got it done, we can pool up our donations or send him directly. This way is more transparent.
@klee: I ll need your help for the giveaway soon. Please pm me when you can start assisting.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Announcements for Nxt (the first pure POS coin) on: November 27, 2013, 10:27:23 AM
This is great: I slept for a while and now I see Cunicula has started working on the paper already!
As the guy who asked about a limited closed source from BCNext directly and then after his disappearance again, I believe it is much safer if BCNext gives a copy of the open source code to Come-from-Beyond for extreme scenario cases, and also I don't see any problem if Come-from-Beyond let
Cunicula know the detailed content of the source code to shape the whitepaper!
We just want it not to be publicly published until the 3rd of January, because at this stage a copy-cat clone could easily hurt Nxt economy.

@The Chinese guy who opened the Nxt thread in the Chinese section: while it is not related to the Chinese translation of the general article bounty, but if you continue to present Nxt on that thread and answer Chinese members' questions about this project well (we will have another Chinese to audit and check it later), we can award you 50K Nxt after certain period of time. But you should make that thread clear, up-to-date, by presenting correct information to the audience and direct them to Nxt main threads, this bounty thread, the big giveaway thread, the main trading thread, or the exchange site which should come up very soon. If you are ready to do this, please quote this post.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: November 27, 2013, 12:45:29 AM
ok let me back up a bit.... am i doing something wrong here?  I use java -cp -Nxt.zip Nxt from the directory the Nxt.zip file is in and it says 2.11 running, then craps out at 133 blocks.  I uninstalled java, reinstalled new JRE version, erased all java temp files, erased all NXT files, downloaded the new 2.11 zip and cranked up, same thing.  reboots dont bhelp.  No errors on DOS window.  Anyone help?

Thx for the report. I'll send it to BCNext next morning.

And I guess you arent mining unless you open the localhost web page and unlock, right?

Right.

ok thanks we'll see what they say i guess.  Im intently checking all nxt-related stuff.. with its new features im betting itll go big and want to buy more but freaking coinbase is taking FOREVER to verify my deposit.

If it matters, all my known peers are moving to 0 and into blacklisted
No nxt yet? Don't worry, some are selling them dirty cheap atm (0.6btc=1m nxt).
I bet this will change soon though!
Unfortunately affected by their bump and dump race, I got tempted to sell some 5M Nxt @ 0.7 btc for each 1M Nxt.
5M got all sold out in 2 hours!
No more Nxt at these dumb prices. I prefer to keep the remaining for when coloredcoin and other features get enabled too. I am sure what will come next Wink
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Already Sold] 5M Nxt at a discount (0.7 BTC for each 1M Nxt) on: November 26, 2013, 09:22:56 PM
I sell 5M Nxt at a discount price: 1M Nxt for 0.7 btc!
This price is available only for the next 24 hours, as I will update it periodically each 24 hours once.

Please pm me or post here, if you are interested to purchase:)

Here is the link to the Nxt main thread(s):   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.0  (old thread)

I opened the Nxt Big Giveaway: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=347927.0
You can get some coins (from 100 Nxt to 100K Nxt) from this giveaway by promoting Nxt in other places!
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nxt Big Giveaway!!! on: November 26, 2013, 08:13:08 PM
14/12/2013 Update: sent 200K from the donation pool to klee's account 2584657662098653454, for him to continue the giveaway from page 2nd upward. Now I can focus on the bounty thread entirely!
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Nxt Big Giveaway!!! on: November 26, 2013, 08:04:11 PM
Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.0 is the first pure POS coin and was launched yesterday 24/11/2013.
Nxt uses brand new software, it’s not a fork of Bitcoin source code.  Nxt improves different features of Bitcoin, removes some disadvantages (e.g. bloated blockchain) and resolves a big environmental issue. Mining is 100% proof-of-stake, Coins are earned solely by charging transaction fees.
Time between blocks is one minute. Also the colored coin feature for p2p security exchange has been natively coded in a decentralized format into the Nxt platform and will come along in a few days too!

Nxt also includes instant transaction mode (for the ease of pay to service and online shopping), internal messaging and decentralized DNS features!
With a big pool of donations that we have from stake-holders, we start and will continue this big giveaway to support and reward the interest and efforts of crypto enthusiasts:
For promoting and spreading the word of Nxt in other places you can receive Nxt coins. Other places includes virtual social networks like facebook or twitter, popular sites like reddit or Yahoo and also small local communities or among your friends in general. Everything that could help letting more people know about Nxt will count as an eligible effort. And the good news is that the number of coins you receive has not much of a preset upper bound and it is possible to receive anything starting from 100 Nxt to 100K Nxt or even more, based on the effectiveness of your efforts in promoting Nxt coin!

So what should you do? You should do some promotion and then post in this thread including the links to what you've already done (the proof) and your Nxt account id. for sending your coins to. I, or somebody who may assist me in continuation, will review new posts several times a week (two or three days once) and will asses each poster's effort and then will assign him some Nxt coins as the gift. In the first week or two we will try to do the review and coins assignments and sending more frequently. It is also possible to receive more coins after you receive the first patch, if you continue your promoting efforts and post with the new related links!
To increase your chance for receiving more coins, I advise you to include the features of Nxt I explained above, in your promotion.
You can start now, best of luck Wink

Cunicula appeared in the bounty thread I opened recently and suggested to do the POS part of the article bounty for 100K Nxt.
I suggested then a 1M Nxt for Cunicula to manage and write the whole whitepaper for the Nxt in separate.
As of this moment, I donated 300K Nxt, Come-from-Beyond donated 150K Nxt and klee 150K Nxt to support Cunicula's effort, if he accept to.
You can also donate by posting and informing your will in the bounty thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345773.0
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Announcements for Nxt (the first pure POS coin) on: November 26, 2013, 11:43:56 AM
I thought about it for a while and arrived at this: it is much disrespect to Cunicula if we promise him little 150K or 200K to do this or that.
He've already done a lot and I suggest a bounty of max. 1M Nxt separate to be given to him, of course if and only if, he puts his laziness aside for a while and construct and write the whole whitepaper ASAP. He can use communication line with the known devs to know about part 2 and 3 to shape and write those parts as well, and to get the final check from them too (based on the actual Nxt codes)
I personally donate 300K Nxt to provide this bounty, Come-from-Beyond said he can add 150K. Please post your donation if you like to support Cunicula's effort. I ll add the bounty account addresses in the OP this evening!
Also Cunicula, please pm me or post here about your readiness or whatever you think about this plan Wink
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: November 26, 2013, 10:23:38 AM
I deleted all .nxt files and started again, nothing changed Sad
When I login into my account, it shows a fixed block height and nothing changes in the page, though it shows catching blocks..
Only after I logout, close the page and relogin again is that I see some 50 to 100 block height change.
There was not such a issue in previous versions, 2.9 looks buggy!
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Announcements for Nxt (the first pure POS coin) on: November 26, 2013, 09:29:12 AM
1-150K Nxt for explaining how its POS works.
2-100K Nxt for explaining the coloredcoin feature and its decentralized implementation in Nxt platform (as BCNext promised it to be this way)
3-50K Nxt for explaining messaging, instant transaction option, decentralized DNS...
If you can't do all the 3 parts, but still can collaborate with Nxt devs to hear from them and finally shape and write part 2 or 3 as well, we can pay 50K Nxt extra in addition to that 300K Nxt mentioned above.
And this is all for the technical whitepaper. About general articles mentioned in OP, those bounties above are still available for anyone to grab!

I'd like to donate 50K to each of this point. Post account id so I could send 150K, plz.
Nice! Give me one or two hours to create a separate account for bounty funds and then inform you here (this way is more transparent)
I need to eat some breakfast first Smiley
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BOUNTY] Announcements for Nxt (the first pure POS coin) on: November 26, 2013, 09:20:03 AM
-500K Nxt for a short video describing Nxt, it's green pure POS mining, the colored coins and decentralized p2p exchange features, internal messaging and decentralized DNS, instant transaction option.. all for a general audience.
-100K Nxt for a general article describing Nxt, it's green pure POS mining, the colored coins and decentralized p2p exchange features, internal messaging and decentralized DNS, instant transaction option..
-50K Nxt for the Chinese translation of the above article.
The initial deadline for the video bounty is 15th of December, for the article 5th of December and for the Chinese translation 7th of December!
To get the necessary info (general&technical) of Nxt for developing these projects, you can read the Nxt main thread mentioned in the OP or refer to Cunicula (who helped in debugging the scheme) or Come-from-Beyond.

I suggest splitting the article in to separate writing tasks.

I'm probably better qualified to write about the PoS design than anyone else because I played a role in its design. I'd expect a full 100k bounty for this, largely because I own no nxt. (Lack of gui, lack of whitepaper, need to use blockchain.info to purchase were too big of a barrier for lazy me.) I could do the chinese translation of my section too.

I know nothing about nxt's other features. If you get one person to write the whole article, then the quality will suffer. That's not acceptable.

To facilitate peer review we need:
1) mathematically precise, approachable, and well-written article
2) nxt coders and third party coders to confirm that the source code does what the article says it is supposed to.

Once those conditions are in place smart people can read the article and critique it. This is essential for people to gain confidence in nxt (including me).
Happy to see that you are here to help. We are ready to pay 300K Nxt for a complete whitepaper in the following format:

Actually Noitev has opened a premature trading and also a flat giveaway thread of his own, it will be good if this too join in one..
But Pouncer, if not any response from Noitev, please continue for a while as klee or some other guys can come in to assist you soon.
Also please add my sell (ask) offer to the list: 4 Million Nxt for 0.000001 btc each.
Thank you!
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: November 26, 2013, 08:40:57 AM
I had no problem in previous versions, but in this new 2.9 I can't catch new blocks easily.
When it's open nothing changes in block height, just shows block catching, but no number change even after 30 mins waiting.
Only after I exit and re-open the browser and re-login into my account again, it shows some max. 50 to 100 block height change.
I am waiting to catch up the blockchain to send some tx. As I tried several times, it says: please wait until the blockchain become loaded..
Dunno how long it would take Sad
