Oddly enough ... I am in the middle of th road on this thought-line. Literally.
It feels time for Decred to do something, and I'm not thinking a full blown media blitz, nor am I thinking wait and make it perfect...
But it needs to integrate with something to show a real-world usability. Show the masses how to use this wonderful toy that has been created.
The proposal system will mark the beginning of a process that propels Decred into taking on entirely new cybernetic properties. Governance is fundamentally a social system at its core. What the proposal system will allow us as stakeholders to do is communicate and control for actions in a formal system. This is significant because without structure, humans struggle to organise and turn their ideas into actions. Directed actions in turn drive societal and technological progress. The empty promises of fly-by-night operations (e.g., the modus operandi of many ICO projects) fear this point - because it marks the moment real skill and talent find a structure to build on. The moment our structure emerges will be the moment everything changes. Expect it and prepare your affairs accordingly. It's coming. "without structure, humans struggle to organise and turn their ideas into actions" - This is exactly I am waiting for and I am happy that it will happen... As I mentioned, I think without a leadership no project can be successful. This new feature can give a leadership structure which could work.. I am waiting to see this. |

Constantly writes "3 hours behind"
rescan and reindex did
the wallet was restarted
deleted everything and installed again
already 2 days nothing helps and I can not synchronize

Have you edited your das.conf and added a working node list? Does it say, 'no block source found'? On the right bottom, if you hoover your mouse, how many connection do you have to the DAS network? If you have connections to the DAS network, then leave your wallet for a few hours to do it's thing. |

Someone just bought 23 MN or there are some new things?
I am not aware of any new thing (I wish I was)... But the masternode count is going up day by day, on last Friday it was just below 300, yesterday was over 400 for a brief period. It could be an organic growth I guess. |

What do you mean "Masternodes do not work again"? All of mine are working nicely on their VPSs. What is your setup? Windows or Linux wallet you are experiencing the issue with? What is the masternode status? If you find your transaction ID in the masternode list, what is the state? When was the last time you receive a reward? |

Devs have already addressed this. This project isn't the kind that boasts or makes promises on future developments. All the best improvements to the code base were done or nearly completed before "public" announcements came (unless you follow the github, then you're always in the know  ). I don't think current market price is a real concern to all those really invested in the project. Like many others, I'd prefer to keep marketing efforts to a minimum. Let the tech improve. Let's get LN running. Smart Contracts. Enhanced privacy solution (stoked to watch this unfold). Unfortunately this is the attitude of the Decred project as you described... And this is the reason why investors stopped waiting and moving away. Marketing and PR are at least as important as the tech itself... how do i kill the process or restart the server?
Here is a guide to find and kill a process. https://www.tecmint.com/how-to-kill-a-process-in-linux/Basically type top and it will show you a list. The first column is the PID. You would need to find 'chaincoind' or anything chaincoin related. Type kill -9 PID (replace the PID with the number from the first column) - it will close down the process To restart the server, you must have a restart button or option in your control panel on the VPS provider website. I am using different providers, I am not sure how yours look like. |

DCR is added to Poloneix and Bittrex already, the major exchanges are covered. I am not sure about any Chinese one at the moment as they are not too crypto friendly nowadays. But would worth a try. The DCR/USD would be very useful indeed, I agree. Preferably being in Coinbase where everyone would be able to buy directly using a credit card instead of via BTC. I am not talking about changelly as it is way overpriced. |

The Masternode I put together has been running 16+ hours now and nothing. Is it just a waiting game or is something configured wrong? I am not sure what to expect. Will successful payments go to my Das wallet? How often will that happen?
I used something like four sets of instructions to get it working. None of the instructions talked about managing the Masternode after it was running.
On my single masternode I usually get paid 1-2 times today and it averages about 4-5 coin. I've had days where I've got 2-3, and some days where I've got up to 8 coins. As far as monitoring... - Every once and a while make sure your IP address is still the same (assuming you are using a mostly "static" one from your ISP). Some people don't technically have a static IP but their ISP doesn't change it often or at all. - On linux, Open a terminal and run the following every now and then. Make sure it doesn't report any errors in the output. If it says "Service Not Available" that means your service isn't running and you need to start it. This has happened to me on my Pi when I think the power went out and it rebooted. I don't have it set to start the DAS service automatically. - On linux monitor space. There is a debug.log file in the ./das directory that sometimes will grow out of control. You can delete the file if you need space. I found if you delete it with the service running it doesn't seem to regenerate. Maybe it will the next time the service starts. - On your windows wallet, open it up every few days. You should be getting coin. Let the full synchronization happen at the bottom. Then click on the masternodes tab and make sure your node still says "Enabled" and not "Missing". More or less I check my wallet daily. I'm always on my laptop anyways. I always let it synch to see new coins come in. I do a quick status check on the masternode tab. If I see problems I investigate. So far I've had 2 outages and one was caused by debug.log eating up all my space, and the other was a power outage which caused my pi to reboot and I didn't have the service set to start immediately. It's been running for over a day now and nothing. I just checked it and it has seven connections to it. It been running and used almost 2GB of bandwidth. I am not sure how it gets paid. Is it a Que or is it a random chance? I may take it down and add the ip addresses from the other masternodes nodes and see if that helps. On the masternodes tab it's been Enabled for over an entire day. Edit: I was looking at the masternode getinfo above. It shows a 1002 balance. Mine doesn't. Could that be the problem? I have a 0 balance and a 0 private send balance. I am sure I sent 1000 das to the correct wallet. Maybe I messed it up. Edit 2: I decided to send 1000 das to my getaccountaddress 0 and even though it says I have 1500 spendable das it says I have insufficient balance to send the das. I know I sent the das to the correct address during the masternode setup. I am not sure what is happening at this point. Edit3: Sent the das after much fiddling and fees. Still the masternode shows no das 3, If you are using a controlling wallet and a Linux VPS as a masternode, you would need to send the 1000 das to the account 0 address of the controlling walled and you will have 0 balance on the masternode. That is correct... 2, If you have 1500 in your controlling wallet but you sent 1000 previously to account 0 and set up the masternode, your 1000 is locked and not available to send even if you can see it in your account balance. (There is/was a bug when you could in some circumstances, but that ruin the masternode and it shouldn't happen) 1, What is your setup? How many wallets? If you had 1002 in your masternode, that sounds like you minted 2 das, but that was still immature and not yet available. I have set up a few masternode on Saturday. 1 of them enabled in for almost 3 days now without any reward, 1 received twice and one received one reward. I guess it is random. |

No update yet, no more info... The only think we can be sure that the announcement will come within a few weeks and we will have plenty of time to prepare for the snapshot. There is still time to buy more SPR or to transfer to your wallet if you prefer. |

The only exchange you can purchase DAS is NovaExchange https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_DAS/There is a DA$ in Cryptopia, but that is another project, do not buy from there... DAS can't be listed on Cryptopis due to the fact the DAS name is taken by another project. |

Waiting for Up trend. Will the DCR grow ?? When!?  I would love to say yes, but i am not sure. Looks like since April, with a brief exception in June, Decred's price is just declining. It drop when BTC dump and it doesn't grow when BTC is going up... Now even PIVX is 10 places above DCR. Decred is a mature and professional project, but something is not working, there is no leadership who would steer the project to upward trend. And without a leadership team, no for-profit organisation ever succeeded. |

Mine nodes earn 2 DAS an average a day rather than 4 DAS. I thought the masternode reward is not dependent on the config file. If the masternode up and running, in the long run, the average should be the same.
What is the special settings you have done to double your masternode reward? Nothing new in your config file.

Because of this simple fact: Masternode earns coins = people want to have masternode = demand for coin. There are several thousands of people that is a part of Chain community and growing each day. ATM there are 2517 masternodes running. Do you really think that that many people just want to let their coins sit there? All these people are very active and are working together to promote this coin and developing the future tech. There are 9 devs working on this coin and last we heard of them was just minutes ago. You are right in the first part that people want masternodes, but the question is, why people want ChainCoin masternodes. Why not some other newer and updated blockchain with much better ROI. What is the unique selling point of CHC? I have many masternodes of several different altcoins. Why should I acquire more CHC and not others? There might be a good reason, but I can't see it and would be happy for help. Major selling point for ChainCoin is the fact that it is a mature blockchain with very small inflation and large potential for growth. Everyone can copy dash and have a masternode coin. Someone mentioned das a coin where "developer" just did project wide find/replace dash->das. Yup guy just changed one letter and now he has a new coin... Majority of other MN coins are like that. Chaincoin is something completely different. It's genesis block is one day older than dash (2014-01-18 chc vs 2014-01-19 dash) which makes it probably the only masternode coin that is older than dash. It has original C11 algo which is GPU mineable. Original devs are still here three and a half years later and are leading the dev team. How many of those new clone coins with better ROI will still exist three years after creation? How many of them will have active devs? In 10 days ChainCoin MN ROI will go up buy 40% and then again in October which will lead to 4500 MNs and increase in price. And when budgeting system is put in place development will go even faster with professional devs. To summarize it is a proven coin with a huge potential for growth and that is its unique selling point. Bitcoin, Dash, Monero and some others managed to build over a billion worth of organisations without any upfront funding. I have a question regarding running a masternode - does it consume lot of brandwidth / GPU / CPU / MEM ?
On My Ubuntu VPS the dasd -daemon needs about 250MB of RAM out of 1GB and almost no CPU time out of the 1vCore I have there... It will run on almost anything, but i wouldn't suggest less than 1GB. |

No, you shouldn't consider it as a loss.... Coin shouldn't just disappear, the issue should be investigated by the dev (preferably)
I am sure there is a solution for this, as without any explanation the whole project would collapse as people won't be confident sending it anywhere.
