361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hasn't any altcoin replaced bitcoin? on: October 12, 2019, 11:35:05 PM
I think bitcoin has been one of the biggest innovations of the human in the past years. Many altcoins have been created after bitcoin. But none of  them have been successful as bitcoin is. Why is that?
Why no altcoin can replace bticoin?
Every new thing and every technology is usually replaced by a newer one as the world is always developing.

The first television built was mechanical, then electronic television were invented, then colour televisions, digital, 3D, ....
The first automobiles invented were steam-powered wheeled vehicles, then electric automobiles appeared. Now we have autonomous cars. Now we have Tesla model S. Now we have Lamborghini.
All of us know about the developments made in mobile phones.

Every thing is being developed. Every device is finally replaced by a newer one. Why no altcoin has replaced bitcoin till now? Do you think it will happen in future?
I personally think people will trust what Satoshi has created more than altcoins till many years later.
Altcoins are created to make the developers rich. But bitcoin is different. Bitcoin was created in favor of us. So, no altcoin can be trusted as bitcoin.

What do you think?

Every crypto is different on their own, they have their own features and characteristics. Also, big factor why bitcoin owns the crown because it was the pioneer of all cryptocurrencies. Thus, creates much supporter than other. However, there is a possibility that someday the crown will be pass to other crypto. We are the ones that can decide whether we will patronize other crypto than bitcoin.
362  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Over? on: October 12, 2019, 11:25:35 PM
To kickstart crypto 2019 I decided to make a Bitcoin mini documentary: https://youtu.be/WgxD5DmS6z8

Things I talked about:

1. Bitcoin's intrinsic value
2. How it could help underdeveloped countries
3. How it could help developed countries
4. Censorship

Now I wanna ask your opinions on my main point which is:

"Bitcoin's intrinsic value is the amalgamation of the platform, its users, and its development."

Now I know some other more famous crypto influencers have mentioned things like decentralization, cost of production, etc., but I think those things are a means to an end and not the endgoal themselves. Like decentralization is for the purpose of censorship resistance and fraud prevention.

So you I wanna know your opinions guys. Agree or disagree doesn't matter as long as you explain your point. https://youtu.be/WgxD5DmS6z8

Actually I dont think that bitcoin is over, it is volatile, everything is normal. There are times that its price is lower compared to othet day, this was the time where bitcoin has lower demand or there are only few trading of bitcoin. On the other hand, There are timed that its demand is high and so its price. Today the price of bitcoin was on its half price compared to its price last december.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8 Ways to Make Money with Bitcoin in 2020 on: October 12, 2019, 11:15:57 PM
So you want to get your hands on some totally free bitcoin, eh?

In contrast to individuals's knowledge, getting bitcoin is easy, there are a variety of methods to earn bitcoin online- some extra popular than the others

here are several of the most famous ways to earn money with bitcoin Smiley

https://youtu.be/yyYTaZUoMUI

That's right and one of those is by joining a project. Wherein you can earn your crypto and trade it with Bitcoin. This was the major thing a lot of people are doing and they earn good amount of income. We just need to be patient and be strategic in trading.
Don't panic with the ups and down, being volatile is normal with bitcoin, just wait for the right time to get back your loses if there are.

I had an IQ of 160 once upon a time. It's probably about 100 less now. I regard the religious as mentally ill. I have zero desire to procreate and think the world's a fuckhole. Hey, I guess you're right.

We are almost the same. Religion for me is not required but needed. It is not required in terms that spiritualitybis more important for me rather than the label of religion and needed for the people to have something to atleast there is something they can give their faith on when there are unexpected things happen.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin and the games industry? on: October 11, 2019, 11:41:06 PM
Hey guys, I was wondering about Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptos in general and their relation to the games industry

We all know, people at my age (31 years) growed up playing games, surfing the internet and they are  very close to technology in general

Games always have put new technologies to evolving the market, like: Internet to play multiplayer games, virtual reality and 3d to have a deeper experience, photorealism, payment inside app/game and etc

But until now, games industry didn't use any new technology related to cryptos

Do you think they will use?
And if yes, how they can use BTC, blockchain and cryptos in general?

The only and most obvious for me is use cryptos to pay games, in steam, psn, xbox live and etc, but I'd like to see your ideas guys

I believe that bitcoin will be soon adopted by the gaming industry because of its huge opportunity about finance. Gaming industry includes gambling, that is why there are a large possibility that it will adopt by other online games like Dota. Since a lot of people are interested with the power of bitcoin, many people will try to have it by playing computer games online. It is possible to manage an event that will give bitcoin as a price if they win the game. This was really cool.
366  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's suppose that Bitcoin became universal (used everywhere you go) on: October 11, 2019, 11:15:53 PM
Hi,
Let's suppose that Bitcoin became adopted everywhere such as paying bills with Bitcoin, getting salary with Bitcoin, shopping, restaurant etc...
How your country gonna survive if you only use Bitcoin in a daily basis? I mean a country cannot survive if individuals doesn't pay taxes, well with Bitcoin you don't pay any tax right?
How this gonna be possible? Please shed for me some light on this.
Thanks

These was great, actually these is all we want after the years. Bitcoin's goal is to act as a payment like other currencies that we can use in our daily lives. On the other hand, bitcoin is already using for transaction before like in exchange with service. Before the bitcoin goes viral, it is used for illegal transactions in deepweb. Probably in exchange with drugs and other illegal stuffs.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Used Computer Equipment For CryptoCurrency Unsafe? on: October 11, 2019, 10:51:35 PM
I know many people store their crypto in their hardware wallets.  Some store it on their computers.  Some have a computer solely for crypto to be safe.

First off, is buying anything that used for the computer unsafe if you plan to store crypto in it?  Example buying a used laptop but then doing a complete factory reset and wiping everything?  Or could a hacker still put a virus/keylog in it?

Now what about other things?  Like imagine buying a used wireless mouse or keyboard.  What about a wired mouse or keyboard?  Or maybe even a used modem or wireless router?  Is it possibly to get a virus/hack keylogged if buying anything like this used?  I thought modem/router possible because well its connecting to the internet?  Obviously something like a used monitor cannot cause anything like this right?  What about a used usb cable connecting your modem to your computer?  A used flash drive definitely for sure?  But you should never have an issue if its a new one right?

With a wired mouse or keyboard, could someone just install something inside it or something and you get keylogged etc?  What if say you left your keyboard with someone and say that person is a hacker and then install something into it.  Then when you plug it into your computer, could you get hacked?

What about a modem or router?  Could someone install something inside it where when you connect to the internet, they see everything you type etc?  Like i know hackers put out fake wifi so if say a starbucks or hotel is there, you connect to it thinking its that wifi but its actually a hacker putting the name to trick you etc.  Then you connect to it and they see all your credit card info.

Obviously you should buy things new.  But if its a modem or router or computer, if you do a factory reset, does that 100 percent wipe everything clean?  I heard of cases where people would install trojans in other people laptops without them knowing.  The person then later access their laptop or notice things got hack etc.

Thoughts on all this?  Now let just say its not for crypto but just regular email and banking and everything else.  Is buying any of these things used foolish?  Or imagine just borrowing a wireless mouse or modem from someone such as a friend or acquaintance... but their intention was they know you had crypto and put a virus on the modem or mouse.  Thoughts on this?

So could you get hacked/keylogged on

1.  Wireless Mouse or Keyboard
2.  Wired Mouse or Keyboard
3.  Modem or Router
4.  Monitor
5.  USB Flash Drive
6.  Ram

From this list, i know USB Flash Drive is 100 percent because you can store files there.  Thus if a hacker has your laptop, they could just plug the flash drive in and put a virus/keylog and then leave your computer as is and then you access it and you have no clue right?

I assume the only one in this list which is impossible would be a monitor right?

But what about a used modem or router or mouse or keyboard?  I assume wireless increases chances a lot than wired right?

This somehow related to hacking wherein you are trying to acces the data of someones computer. As we try to engagr in crypto, it is better to buy new equipment so that you cannot have any problems. As a trader we should concerned about out funds so it is better to spend some money for the equipment rather than losing a big amount of money.
368  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Africa be a good place for crypto? on: October 11, 2019, 10:41:30 PM
The success of digital wallets in the African continent was really great and based on what I've read on news articles about it, it really helped the economy and the businesses when it all started years ago.
With this in mind, will Africans be welcoming of bitcoin/altcoin as a real currency and not just a quick way to earn cash or invest? Like using it as real money / cash?

Bitcoin was very risky to become cash. We all know that it was volatile, that its value is possible to dump in just a period of time. Unlike real currencies, it is not stable so I think that it is better for bitcoin to become an asset not being a cash like what we are using today. I believe in just supporting it like can make the bitcoin community to grow.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin market dominance rising fast? on: October 11, 2019, 10:31:23 PM
Over the past months, Bitcoin has been rising in market dominance at a fast pace. Altcoins have been on a constant decline in price ever since the bear market began back in 2018. They've been the ones which suffered the most, while Bitcoin has obtained greater prominence within the crypto market.

Which is why, it wonder me wonder why Bitcoin's market dominance have been rising so fast? What could be the cause of this? Will altcoins die soon, as a result of Bitcoin dominating the whole market? Or will they still survive?

So far, Bitcoin has gained the attention of people within the mainstream world, especially since it's one of the most limited cryptocurrencies in supply with an outstanding development team. The Lightning Network is its most interesting feature yet, leaving many wondering if it will render altcoins obsolete. If this indeed happens, then Bitcoin would effectively centralize the whole crypto market. What are your thoughts about this? Huh

This was not surprising because first of all bitcoin is the pioneer of all cryptocurrencies. Also, all of these is because of the support of the people who are using bitcoin. The more people who use and support bitcoin the more it will be in demand and thus will increase its value.Unlike other crypto, bitcoin already prove its credibility ro people so there is no way for it to be not trusted.
370  Economy / Economics / Re: If you want to be rich..! on: October 11, 2019, 07:55:19 AM

When someone want to be rich they can't make it possible by working 10 to 5  everyday,so what are the things we have to do to make ourselves rich at the right age.

We need to have more income sources like four or five different fields to ensure our constant earnings even if one or two things get us into losses temporarily.Make your investment as early as you can then only you can start making money and remember to save it.

One thing that I learn from a friend of mine is the way that he always make something as an asset so that it can give him income. Also, like what you have said it is important to have different streams of income so that if one fails to give you money, you have another source of income to support your needs. Lastly, we should know that everyone wants to ve rich but not everyone is commited and willing to take the process that is why a lot of people failed.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin more worth than other cryptocurrencies that have better specs? on: October 11, 2019, 07:11:12 AM
One of the main reasons why Bitcoin has more worth than any other cryptocurrencies is because it has the proven track record to secure hundreds of billions of dollars ($269 billion as of Dec.8 ) without getting it lost to theft or accident.

If a person manages to successfully hack Bitcoin, he or she will easily top the Forbes’ Billionaires List at #1. And believe me, people have definitely tried to get this money that Bitcoin holds right now.

No other cryptocurrency has been held to the same amount of scrutiny and stress-test as Bitcoin. Let’s really test the limit of this technology.

Good or bad, I’m extremely excited what we will see in the future.

I hope you are too.

Bitcoin is more powerful than other cryptocurrencies today because first of all Bitcoin was the pioneer of all Cryptocrurrencies. Also, there are a lot of people who are patronizing bitcoin today compared to other good cryptos. Maybe someday if the people starts to patronize other crypto more than bitcoin, this is the time where its price will dump because of the decrease in demand compare to other crypto. No one can say what will happen, just stay tuned to the latest news realated to crypto so we are always updated.
372  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we get people to use bitcoin as a currency? on: October 11, 2019, 06:49:47 AM
How can we get people to use bitcoin as a real currency and not just a quick way to get cash as a lot of people seem to do? When I say currency, I mean the literal definition of currency as something that is used as a medium of exchange.
Even online, there are only a few stores who are accepting it as payment.

Why is that it is necessary for bitcoin to become currency? Actually, it is hard for bitcoin to become a currency because of its volatility. Unlike the normal currencies, bitcoin was not stable in terms of price making it very risky if we use it as a normal currency. Also, there is a possibility that we lose our money in just a moment of time if the currency we are using doesn't have a stable price. Lastly, Bitcoin is adopting by big businesses and organizations today and there are even groceries store that sells bitcoin conveniently.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UNICEF is now accepting donations in Bitcoin and 8 altcoins on: October 10, 2019, 06:20:00 PM
Since yesterday morning, UNICEF France is now officially accepting donations in bitcoin and 8 other cryptocurrencies (+ERC 20 Tokens) (I know that because I work there  Grin )
https://lp.unicef.fr/faire-un-don-en-cryptomonnaie/
https://lp.unicef.fr/comment-faire-un-don-en-cryptomonnaie/
Therefore, we would be very grateful if the BitcoinTalk community could help us by giving us your feedbacks on the pages, what to improve, to add or to correct, and better if you can relay the information to your network, and even better, if you could make a little donation to encourage the hesitating ones.

Thank you for any help you can provide !
This was great. We must use the benefits that cryptocurrencies can give. This has an impact to our society, huge organizations like UNICEF are now accepting donations. This was a good news to hear for the non believers and to those countries that banned bitcoin. Actually they missed a lot of opportunities and benefits from bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. We should be aware about this new technology and apply to iur everyday lives. Soon we will be thankful that we trust these cryptos.
374  Economy / Economics / Re: Is cryptocurrency help to expand the world business? on: October 10, 2019, 05:58:44 PM
Now a days business and product is for all. Every country exchange their core product with other countries to meet theit demand. What you think Is cryptocurrency help to expand the world business?

Yes absolutely. In this digital era adopting the technology is a must for businesses. They should apply these new technology to their business so that they don't miss the possible benefits of these advancements. In the case of crypto, if they tend to accept it to their business, they became more accessible and their business become more convenient for people because a lot of us are already using bitcoin in our daily life. As we can notice, there are some groceries wherein you can buy bitcoin as easy as one two three.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you know about Bitcoin before becoming a bitcoiner? on: October 10, 2019, 05:38:44 PM
This is a question to people who at some point discovered Bitcoin, but only became Bitcoin enthusiasts later - what was your experience?

I'll start with my story - I have first learned about Bitcoin in 2012 when I was looking for payment options for one online deal. In the end I used some other payment options, and Bitcoin didn't catch my interest, although I did claim a 0.005 BTC faucet once.

Then in 2014 I have learned about Dogecoin, and I still have vague understanding of cryptocurrency, I traded my BTC for DOGE and even tried to mine DOGE on my GPU. Then I quickly forgot about crypto again.

After that Bitcoin caught my attention in 2016 and I finally became a bitcoiner.

Looking back at all this, I wonder why it took me so long to became more involved in Bitcoin. What if millions of other people know about Bitcoin, but don't consider it as payment option or investment or store of value - how can we catch their attention?

Before I engaged with cryptos I don't know that exactly what is crypto. I know it as bitcoin in general. Before, I have read many articles about bitcoin stating that it is often use in deep or darkweb. Probably in some illegal stuffs like drugs and pornography. Before I thought that it was not real until I knew that my classmate was earning good money with these crypto that is why I became intetested and tried this trend.
376  Economy / Economics / Re: Crimes involving crypto have risen on: October 10, 2019, 05:18:00 PM
"Nearly 2.7 trillion won ($2.3 billion) have been lost to crimes involving cryptocurrency in the last two years, according to South Korean government data."

where do you see the improvements being made against crypto criminal activity. this can really hurt the price for traders/investors if conditions don't improve.

This will badly affect the price of bitcoin if these things persist. We know that a single news can affect the credibility of bitcoin. Maybe this was happening because there are a lot of people becoming interested to the opportunity that cryptocurrencies can give. One of these was its anonymity features and its ability to pump and dump. Also, Bitcoin was actually use for illegal transactions before in deepweb before it goes viral. Not surprisingly, it was involved with such activities.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now you can buy Bitcoin from the grocery store on: October 09, 2019, 11:20:50 AM
In the U.S. there are these machines in grocery stores called "Coinstar"...they were originally used for fiat coins but now they've modified them so you can buy Bitcoin from them. This is great for mass adoption!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZvXq--LwfA&feature=youtu.be

This clearly shows mass adoption indeed! It is good to see that the community is accepting cryptos today unlike before. Today a lot of businesses are already accepting bitcoin and there are some grocery store that are selling bitcoin. Having bitcoin today is much easier compared before wherein you need to have knowledge from the exchanges to buy it. Today, you just need to go to the grocery store and buy bitcoin easily and conveniently.
378  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Cryptocurrency threatens governments on: October 09, 2019, 10:45:27 AM
Over the years cryptocurrency  has evolved into a global currency but governments are trying to sweep it's relevancy under the carpet. We all know that the eyes of the community are now opened to the importance and blockchain technology.

What baffles me is why are the government making lives difficult by banning or limiting it's use? Is it because it threatens the political power or are they scared it will improve the global economy or force the traditional banks to reduce their ridiculous interests rate which we have been robbed of for decades now.

What is your take on this and what do you think will make governmental bodies to finally accept crypto?

Based on what I have observed, government always want to control every transaction happening and earn tax. Whereas with bitcoin it was anonymous and cannot track easily. Also, there is no additional payment that will charge by the government which we all know cost more money compared in crypto. In addition, When there is a business or something that doesn't charge by tax, the government will consider it illegal. Government always want a kickback.
379  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religion and Morality. on: October 08, 2019, 11:49:22 PM
Hey guys. I've been watching a lot of debates on youtube about this topic where theists, apologetics, philosophers, scientists, agnostics and atheists discuss whether religion has a monopoly over what people perceive to be right or wrong. Guys like WLC, Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson, Frank Turek, Richard Dawkins etc. Go after each other's throats to prove their points and honestly, i think every one of them has a valid argument.

What do you think?

Every Religin had their own set of beliefs so it was not surprising that their arguments are both valid. You should not argue with other religion in terms of what is right and wrong because first of all different religion arise because of diffirent beliefs and perceptions. In terms of Morality and Religion, Religion does manipulate the Morality for it limits the persons decision because there was a supreme being that is going to judge them in their actions. In my opinion, Religion isn't important, what important is the Spirituality.
380  Economy / Economics / Re: stupidity is so close to poverty on: October 08, 2019, 06:19:32 PM
stupidity is so close to poverty, do you agree with such a phrase?
if it yes, means the poor are the fools.
I want to know your opinion.  Grin Grin
To born poor was not your choice but to die poor was. You have all the time to do what you can do to sustain your need and to become rich but some people doesn't want the process. Everyone wants to be rich but doesn't want to commit. Those people are the stupid ones not necessarily the poor but those who chose to be poor. Lastly, poverty was always there from the beginning because of the people who doesn't want to take the risk and become always safe. Life is like a gamble you need to take the risk.
