Testnet coins are used for testing, they behave like bitcoin, but have no value.
3602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Slow block times.... on: January 08, 2016, 06:44:24 AM
trying to send some btc. btc network has been stuck on 392276 for 35 minutes now. wtf, i thought it was supposed to be 10 minutes per block?
edit- finally another block after 35 minutes. that so slooow

10 minutes per block on average, it can vary. 35 minutes is nothing.

I dont get it there are plenty of words, all show up as "Wrong answer"

It also says "use the remaining letters to form a solution", remaining from what?

Find as many words as you can and then if you are absolutely sure there are no more words, use the remaining letters to form the solution.

So you're saying the solution will end up being something logical? Using the remaining letters to make a word that is?

Edit: Also, are backwards words valid?

I found a few words, this is whats left. From one of the words I found at the end "malleability". I understood that the letters can be reused. Since I dont have a printer or any other good method with me to mark the words. Enjoy.

That's nuts. I enabled the check box to auto take fee.

You have to wait a bit so its ready. It shows a small text when its not. On the fastest setting it usually takes the longest to get ready for me so I typically go for 2-5 blocks.

3610  Other / Meta / Re: how can i be a forum moderator? on: January 07, 2016, 01:13:30 PM
I meant exactly that by a couple of coins but i don't see what is wrong there ? i just missed the exchange part which is of no use cause eventually its btc.I think people who are interested and share interests on forums (either this or any general one) are suitable to become mods and that money is just a bonus. But here at bitcointalk you have an opportunity to become one because of the language barrier and this being a global forum. So lottery still has a chance for his local section same like lauda ,if he is good.
Then your assumption is wrong. Moderators and patrollers do not earn a couple of coins because that would imply that they "earn" more than $1k a month. As far as being a local moderator goes, currently the chances are slim because all sections have at least 1.

I dont think there is demand either, but lottery248 has a good time zone. They essentially start posting when the majority of the european mods go to sleep. That might be a factor if there is demand again.

3612  Economy / Reputation / Re: Negative Trusted feedback is already in DT ?? on: January 07, 2016, 10:02:54 AM
No negative ratings can remove a user from the Default Trust Network, BadBear has to do it manually or has to be "overruled" by two others from level 1.
I realize that, I was talking about the score on the default trust overview page.
Even if the user receives negatives, he will remain on Default Trust...

I see, probably misunderstood it.
3613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hacking on: January 07, 2016, 09:26:05 AM
I keep seeing all these posts that someone can hack my wallet.  First I did not think that this could be done?  If it can be done, how can I prevent it from happening?  Does my wallet need to be online in order for them to be able to hack it or can they still hack a paper wallet?

It is possible that someone can just guess or brute force your private key. The chance however is so small you might as well call it impossible. Its as likely as someone winning the lottery several times in a row and will for all we know never happen as long as the sun is still burning.

Other than that it mostly depends on the way you use your machine. As AllInCrypto said if the machine that you use to control your wallet is infected by malware, its easy for the attacker to spend your coins. Its however not "easy" to infect a modern, well updated system, unless you do something to help the malware. Commonly bitcoin related malware will require you to execute it yourself, so be careful what you download and use.
Just reading through and have to question how someone could brute force your private key?  I of coarse do not understand what the private key is nor do I understand what brute force means, but the thread interested me.

A private key is just a number. So lets assume the possible numbers for a private key are between 1 and 4. I dont know your private key, but I just test all 4. Thats a brute force attack. I just try all possible combinations and see if I hit the jackpot. Of course with bitcoin the number is significantly bigger. There are 2256 = 115792089237316195423570985008687907853269984665640564039457584007913129639936 possible private keys. Roughly one for every 1000 atoms in the known universe[1]. This makes guessing your private key possible with infinite time and resources. We dont have infinite time and resources though, so we can consider it impossible.

das mit dem dump vom privkey <adresse> kann tricky sein.
da hat man nur diese eine adresse nicht aber die anderen adressen vom wechselgeld die automatisch erzeugt werden und nicht ohne weiteres einsehbar sind.
also immer die wallet.dat sichern!

Code:
bumpwallet d:\meineschluessel.txt

Thanks for keeping this thread going I really do enjoy looking at it.  Congratz to all those who hit it this week.

It looks like 3 hit it?  Has this been the most in one week that have been being tracked?

Sounds about right, on the other hand I only track a small number. See the numbers by minifrij above, a total of 19 new legendaries.
3616  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: A NEW BITCOIN DOUBLE SITE IS COMING AND BETA TESTING IS GOING ON on: January 07, 2016, 08:23:27 AM
it is not the  Ponzi scheme Angry

No because you will not even get a single investment.

You talk about a site. Where is it?

Just in case: https://archive.is/VsVhj
3617  Economy / Reputation / Re: Skype hacked -- DO NOT TALK TO ME ON SKYPE on: January 07, 2016, 08:18:42 AM
I made a duplicate thread in Scam Accusations just to get it more exposure (noone really checks reputation board that much).

Should we be deleting posts that could potentially stop someone from getting scammed?

You now have a dark red rating, only took 4 people  Shocked, I dont think spamming the forum is needed.
3618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: January 07, 2016, 08:13:33 AM
Has anyone else been having issues with verifying signed messages through Blocktrial?  I tried to verify someone else's message and I turned them down for a loan because of it.  Then I tried another person and got the same message.  So I tried my own, knowing it is right and it still did not verify.

Do you have an example? Sometimes people use specific symbols that are not as common and are not tested. If you can reproduce a valid signature that fails for blocktrail we can contact them for a fix. They are usually very responsive. You can also try to crosscheck with Chain Query.

Congrats, Mich.  I 'm actually hoping that I hit it as close to the last moment as possible.  Just seems like  a fun bit of notoriety if I could hit later than the 1008 by defaced.

Denied, gratz on your new rank.
