3601  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $25 AMAZON GIFTCARD FOR ฿2.4 BTC on: January 29, 2013, 06:07:53 AM
I smell a scam.

Seriously someone needs to do a middles network for BTC's. Ie a group of people that act as mediators and recieves both ends of the trade to make sure it all is right and kosher before signing the deal and sending each part their "price" so to speak. It would be risky true, since we would have to trust someone, but at the same time, anyone who would not want to use a middle as a part of the trade would immiditately raise a red flag.

3602  Economy / Lending / Re: Where do I ask for a loan without being Talked to like I am a scammer? on: January 29, 2013, 04:37:54 AM
There is also numerous Jr/new members that I would lend to in a heartbeat. Posts are not a way of measuring credit-worthyness.
3603  Economy / Lending / Re: Where do I ask for a loan without being Talked to like I am a scammer? on: January 29, 2013, 04:36:41 AM
Full member for lending? Nah, it's easy to get to such amount of posts. See constitution for example. He's a prime example of another account being pumped. Better still is the six-sense accrued after so many lending posts here. The seasoned lenders/readers in this section can practically smell a bad loan (where the lender is a bad credit and has next to nil repayment ways) or a scamming loan from miles away now.
3604  Other / Meta / Re: Bryan Micon...CREEPY STALKER GUY on: January 29, 2013, 04:31:19 AM
We moderate and delete based on reports received. We simply do not have the manpower and strength to read each post in this forum. Gmaxwell is receiving reports from people reading your posts, and thus the deletions and warnings. If we're seriously moderating the Custom Hardware subsection, almost 30% of the posts would have be gone by now.

all correct statements IMO.

1)  many users in your system are reporting my posts and "inappropriate"   It is relevant to this point that BFL & Josh have likely used downvoters on reddit, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say they can generate many bitcointalk user actions of any sort.  [ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=136771.0 ]

2)  Certainly most of Custom Mining posts, if properly moderated, should be deleted.  Yet only mine was.  I could cite many examples of Josh launching personal insults at me in that very thread.  My fact-based post, including the video once again where he insults me on the floor of CES, something clearly he is not interested in seeing again or having other possible pre-order candidates see, is the only thing deleted.

1) No idea on this conspiratory theory.

2) You wouldn't believe how many posts were deleted from that section. I personally deleted over 20-30+ posts from that section, and I can imagine how many posts other mods would have deleted. No, I didn't delete any of your posts as far as I remember. Please refer to my post above. If the post is Off-Topic to a certain extent, it is worthy of deletion. That's it. We don't censor swear words etc, if the other content pertains to the subject.

That said, I'm always avoiding Custom Hardware if possible. Too much headache inside.

obviously too much headache for the mods.

I'm not a trouble maker, and I think you know that.  I point out scams, and it draws heat.  I respond to the heat, especially borderline libelous personal attacks against me.

If you (gmaxwell, the mods at large) are going to censor a response of mine to a personal insult, then shouldn't you also censor the user throwing around the personal insults?

In case you didn't see this the first time:

At least report those you deem as 'user throwing around the personal insults'. In other cases, it's usually your posts getting reported by people not related to you or BFL. I delete posts/split topics that go off topic, and frankly posts from you, Inaba, and etc are getting deleted/splitted indiscriminately if they're reported and deemed offtopic/derailing.
3605  Economy / Lending / Re: Where do I ask for a loan without being Talked to like I am a scammer? on: January 29, 2013, 04:12:45 AM
Giving respect and getting scammed is two issues altogether. You wouldn't believe the amount of scammers we get here. Remember that giving ID and address does not mean anything in the bitcoin world. I have seen countless cases where there is all information on the scammer and yet the lenders cannot do anything.

Getting a loan is not a right, it's a privilege. Too many think it's their right to have one and many are also just assholes.
Also relevant in respect and loaning: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135395.0

3607  Economy / Lending / Re: my bitjam account and requested loan on: January 29, 2013, 04:00:49 AM
I need more capital for my Gem and Diamond business.

See what I do is go to local cash to gold places around in my area and buy the stones that people don't want at very low cost.
Then turn around sell them to a friend that has a jewelry store in our local mall.

How long does it take to be funded?
It depends on how people view your loan.

Also, how are you going to deal with Bitcoin->USD exchange rates? As bo2573 said above, why not just use a credit card to buy the stones and eliminate like 10 steps?

*edit for grammar  Lips sealed

3611  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bit Coin HYIP [moderator note: This is a scam] on: January 29, 2013, 02:14:23 AM
John (johnthedong),

If I was running this program I would give some btc to all
new users.

How did the BitcoinHYIP Admin get the

list from MTGox?

I sure will not be opening an account with them now.
The list is from the MT.Gox hack years ago.
3612  Economy / Lending / Re: A list of defaulted loans (list of scammers inside here) on: January 29, 2013, 01:51:30 AM
Updated, thanks!

It's refreshing to hear others rant their own country. It makes me more satisfied about my own shitty currupt down spiralling nation.

Other countries always sound better because you don't read their news papers.

Points for having a PM that fights the insanity in Brussels.
Yeah, good point there. At least they have a standing PM against that dying monster of EU.
Other nations seem to be sitting and waiting for its collapse.

PS: You know what's on your personal text tab, right?  Wink

I know whats on my tab and I'm not chinese but an Ai WEIWEI fan.

I don't want to start a hunt down on chinese Bitcoin users because of it though. So if there is some meaning in my Pic text that eludes me, please corret me!
*tries to stay civil*

The text is a pun of a widely used swear sentence referring to the listener's mom.
Now that you've added the BTC word either inadvertently or purposefully, the complete sentence refers to a female organ on the listener's mom. Wink

I did try my best, didn't I?

LOL, I thought that it was a Chinese anti government joke. I don't want to offend anybodys mum.
It became an anti government joke when Ai Wei Wei recorded some stuff using this sentence if I'm not wrong. The phase you have literally means :'Fxxx your mom's XXXXXX'.   Lips sealed

edit: now it means the same sentence above minus the last XXXXXX.  Tongue
3614  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Implementing Bitcoin Checkout on My Blog on: January 28, 2013, 05:15:46 PM
The existing cart plugins are from MT.Gox, Walletbit and Bitpay. There's a few other download hosters like coindl too.
