I've been working on Waves NG subject today just to get a better understanding of that new powerful development of Waves. One thing I am wondering is, does the higher throughput of transactions comes along with higher security issues? And does it has any impact on the network stability?
Not as far as I am aware to both of those questions.

On another note, the closed beta invites have been sent out yesterday. Anyone get in?
3602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🔥Tokugawa Coin 🔥 Japanese Masternode 🔥1000% ROI🔥Buy in ICO on: November 21, 2017, 07:41:23 PM
what is this coin into and why should we be interested in investing in this coin are some of the questions to be answered before making an investment?

This coin gives 1000% or more ROI if you run a Masternode. The coin is designed to pay good ROI, even if 100 Masternodes are running.

Yes so we buy hot air, whichever generates even more hot air, so that in the end we'll have a whole lot of hot air with no purpose, no inherent value, nothing. Please stop scamming and crowding the already thick with ridiculos landscape (ridiculous ICOs!)
But it's in the news!!! Roll Eyes

apart from the battle that is taking place here right now. i think it is really time to deliver something.
this would:
1. stopp the mess here
2. help all the ICO investors.
That would be quite nice indeed. Slack is a major inconvenience and I'm not sure how else to get any updated info about NVO.

So it would be nice if there were at least frequent dev updates on this thread or on the website.

The most expensive I've seen for purchase were all south of 100k. Read a few articles about >100k auctions, but there's no way for me to really confirm those anyways, so eh.

Wouldn't be surprised if there were ~300k bottles around though, given the rarity of some bottles and the ridiculous lumps of cash that some people have.

At least in ~10-20 years every Bitcoin will get me one of those.

Bowmore 1957 is up there: http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20459/lot/84/
I like how the "similar items" are dinosaur fossils.

3606  Other / Off-topic / Re: Society double standards: Why why why? on: November 21, 2017, 05:03:07 AM
Why does society praise people who have unplanned children they can't feed but overcome than those who are smart enough to not have them in the first place until they can afford them?
Probably because most people still follow their "jungle instincts".
Not too long ago you would've had a very high chance of dying if you didn't follow your impulses blindly, which served to protect you from potential predators.

It will probably take quite a while before humanity goes from short term to long term thinking, and this whole "instant gratification" culture is actively delaying the transition even further.

Seems like we'll either wipe ourselves out or end up in a utopia with abundant resources for all instead of the majority of people transitioning into planning ahead instead of being brainless naked apes with smartphones.

But it really is quite odd that people get on such high moral horses while actively supporting the most immoral types of people, such as those that you've brought up as an example. It's pretty much crystal clear that having kids without being mentally or financially prepared to raise them is the worst thing that you can do for yourself, your kids and humanity as a whole.
3607  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stocks or crypto ? which has great future? on: November 21, 2017, 04:55:05 AM
Stocks benefits are confined to the respective region where as blessing of crypto market is neutral to all the investors all across the world and profit rate is far leading in crypto and most probably world will switch into the digital currency then stocks will be at end, stocks prices are stable just a point fluctuation occurs on some events but bitcoins prices are always moving upward and giving profits.

But beware of high volatility in crypto markets.Always invest the amount only that you can afford to lose.Do research and invest wisely
You can buy stocks internationally. The technical downsides of stocks are the lack of accessibility during specific times (where brokerages are closed) and the high fees that brokers charge. As an asset class they are generally less volatile and also regulated.
3608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you surprise by bitcoin price now? on: November 21, 2017, 04:53:23 AM
Yes, it's extremely unpredictable  Undecided

For early adopters who stepped in few years ago and have 100x profit it's just a matter of closing their eyes. For newcomers the risk is a magnitude larger since buying even a single Bitcoin is expensive. Still, some people say Bitcoin can go to $200,000 or even beyond. If that's true buying and closing your eyes is the best strategy no matter how hard it is.
That argument doesn't really hold because you can buy fractions of a Bitcoin.

I mean the amount of risk per Bitcoin whether it's whole or fractional.

If you take the market cap into account it takes a lot more money to go from $8000 to $200,000 than from $320 to $8000. It's harder, therefore less probable and therefore has a higher risk.
It could easily be argued that it is much easier for Bitcoin to climb to $200k and higher than it was for Bitcoin to reach where it is at now.

After all, Bitcoin was a fringe technology that has been labelled as a scam and ponzi left and right for years.

Now that Bitcoin is out of that storm and actually backed up by many very prominent figures it will be much easier for it to reach its potential, which is well beyond $200k per coin.

Market cap of gold is $7T. If Bitcoin reaches $200k its market cap would be about $4T. It would be quite amazing, but maybe you have a point. Earlier today I read that gold bugs are transitioning to Bitcoin.

The total amount of money is something like $200T by the way.
Where did you get the $200T figure? The last one I recall was around $60~80 T excluding derivatives and just over $1Q with derivatives included, but maybe I've remembered an outdated figure.
3609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES | Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform | unofficial supporters topic on: November 21, 2017, 04:49:04 AM
The new DEX looks astonishing! Looking forward to using it. Will there also be placeholder assets involved like on Openledger DEX (OPEN.BTC) or will all assets be real assets?

All Non-WAVES assets are placeholder assets (wBTC, wETH, etc.).

Ok and is there any chance to change that in the future? So that we have a real decentralized exchange trading with any kind of real asset?
It already exists. It's just not extremely functional, which is what the NG beta is going to (hopefully) address.

Thanks for the response resu, it's useful.  Agree that the devs do the bare minimum to calm investors.  Important communications like Skype calls are missing.  It's a red flag for much bigger problems that they are trying to hide.  Good luck!
Oh and since you clearly own NVST and would like a refund, just simply sign a message from the address you hold your NVST in and I'll buy them right now. I'm really curious to see if you're able to do this. Did you ever even own NVST? Sign away.
I might chip in if the order is too big. Wink

Probably too imprisoned by his lies to go through though.
3611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: November 21, 2017, 04:45:37 AM
Is the roadmap being updated? According to it we should be on v0.3 arch.

I’m thinking of increasing my holdings so keen to see where were at.
So far the roadmap has been updated once per month with new details.

I recommend watching their latest Youtube Q&A, gives very deep insight.

Doh was looking at old road map
Shappens.

Adding new markets probably is a good solution eg bittrex this thing to increase transaction volume, I noticed the volume of transactions keeps decreasing and this will make SONM difficult to rise.
That will happen when SONM is ready. There is no reason to increase volume right now whatsoever.

this coin is the perfect example of why the crypto market is irrational
It really is. Even when confronted with hard facts people still stick with ridiculous nonsense in hopes of making a quick buck.

I guarantee you you won't be able to find such, since your statement about as far from truth as you could possibly be.

All your post does is prove the post that I've quoted as well as my response to it.

Based on how emotional you are getting over your own delusions I would like to direct your advice right back at you by the way.

Well, you dont have say things directly in order for people to conclude your real intention on it.
You were seems to continuously say the same things all and all over again.
Just a scroll on your previous posts is enough to prove it .
Your desperate measures were seen in yr posts clearly.

There's nothing desperate about revealing some basic facts about the situation that MCO is in.

I even specifically stated that I like the card itself and that it has great utility. That doesn't change the fact that the token is currently worthless and that the promised asset contract was retracted and called "worthless" when it is not. Anything other than that about my stance on MCO is nothing more but your own fantasy.

And heck, I even stated that the removal of the asset contract won't have an impact on the price in the short-term future because of people like you who apparently do not seem to care about anything other than blind hype without any fundamentals. So that just goes to show how little you've understood my position.

P.S. Only a fool would think that stating facts is an attack on something. Facts are the only way to improve, even if they aren't nice.

I sold my BTX for some peanuts one day because I was bored.

I got bored with it too, months ago.
I prefer just keeping them and not even bothering with splitting wallets. If I ever actually feel like moving some of my Bitcoins I might consider it, but it seems like a waste of time right now.

The only downside to this is, if there's going to be Bitcoin SSJ4Sanic and 120938123 other versions it might get difficult to split the wallets without compromising the safety of all the alt chains. But what gives.
3614  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stocks or crypto ? which has great future? on: November 21, 2017, 03:20:57 AM
this is kind obvious. cryptos have much more prospective value I think.
there are a lot of shit coins indeed but it is same for stocks as well.
I would say coins involve higher risk but much higher returns.
No, it is not the same for stocks as well. Stocks are subject to very thorough DD processes and regulation, cryptos are not.

There are far less shit stocks than there are shitty altcoins and stocks in general are much safer than cryptos.

Stocks are tied to the value of the USD. Crypto is tied to the value of Bitcoin. So if you think about it, you should just invest in Bitcoin. The reason you want to do that is because it ahas the greatest future. It is better than FIAT money and gold, and definitely better than other cryptos. All of these are centralized and Bitcoin is decentralized so when you have this structure for governance it's beneficial for everyone involved.
Quite a few altcoins are decentralized. And Bitcoin won't be rising as much as some altcoins will, which - as always - means that you should just invest in what fits your own risk profile and situation. Everything comes with ups and downs and there is no "best solution" that applies to every general scenario.

More delays with wallet, more excuses.... How can I get my escrow money back?

Sorry dude, it's their money now.

Actually it is the investors money still at this stage as nothing has been produced and since presented developments have not been delivered they are obligated to refund deposited funds if requested. If you deposited/invested 1 eth you are entitled to 1 eth back and not the fiat value. This way if ethereum was now only worth a fraction of what it was at initial time of offering there would not be a deficit and if there was a surge in ethereum price there would be no surplus. What went in must come out as presented.Any misrepresentation of this is misleading.

This is my point, so do you know how I can get my money back?  I paid with ETH
By selling your coins if you want to exit.

Not asking your opinion thanks.  Can someone else point me to the instructions on how to get my escrow ETH back?
This has nothing to do with opinions. This is the matter of the facts.

I asked - do you know how I can get my escrow ETH back?  If you are not going to say something useful, then your response is not necessary.
My response could not be any more useful. You agreed that you won't be getting any refunds the moment you sent coins to the ICO.

I still don't understand, when will Waves DEX be on mainnet, in the lite client?

Waves DEX is live since April, with $1mln. volume today!

April? Wasn't it supposed to be this year?
The DEX has been live for a while now and the NG version is in closed beta.

Coming soon...
New details have been posted about CME Group's upcoming bitcoin futures, which – barring any delays from regulators – will start trading on Dec. 11:
https://www.coindesk.com/cmes-bitcoin-futures-likely-start-trading-december-11/

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a really bad feeling about this one... I can't put my finger on it exactly.
They are trading something derived from bitcoin, not bitcoin itself. Which means it's fictional which means fractional reserve.
It might still have an impact on the real market though... Crypto is a massive clown fiesta after all.

CME would not not have any BTC reserve requirements at all?  They can facilitate the complete trading of BTC-related contracts without any kinds of BTC reserves, at all?
I actually haven't confirmed the details about the CME futures, because I don't have any interest in trading them. There probably will be some requirements though, the effects of which will depend on their volume.
