3601  Other / Off-topic / Re: Liberland Championship of Blockchain.Poker (LLCOBP) on: May 03, 2020, 07:06:50 AM
Interesting...
What liberland is this if I may ask? Is it connected to the physical Liberland Island based on Blockchain? And are both liberland.org and https://blockchain.poker/ in partnership or something?
The liberland merit combined with this sounds interesting.
3602  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you a bitcointalk member? Did you get covid19, tell us your bad experience!. on: May 01, 2020, 04:49:13 PM
I had serious pains all over my body and head, thought it was malaria or something. Didn't really suspect the virus. I later found out that one of my vegetables was laced with some strange sticky and really strong chemical(I suspect a deliberate poison). I stop eating it, prayed and continued living my normal life and it went away completely within 2days.
It almost stop me from thinking clearly. I initially worried the effects in my head (felt injury & "stickiness" in my brain) will last for a long time.
3603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your opinion on 'themed' cryptocurrencies, e.g. Dentacoin? on: May 01, 2020, 04:25:53 PM
Projects like this will work better in well developed and thriving VM based cryptocurrency (Ethereum-like cryptocurrencies).
Does it own a dental clinic or is in partnership with hospitals?  It doesn't look like the project is offering much. It will need to be really good to be able to compete with similar businesses outside of crypto world.
3604  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investors buy the wrong zoom on: May 01, 2020, 10:08:24 AM
Oh, both are different companies? Interesting.
I guess the pausing is to prevent other investors and the owners of zoom tech from selling or benefitting for undeserved profits while the actual investors take the losses.
Well, if the price of Zoom technologies returns back to exactly where it was or a little above it before the acquisition of other zoom  then there is no need to go to court.

3605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sport betting site offering bets on the Covid-19 pandemic. Worst site now. on: May 01, 2020, 09:48:02 AM
it would be nice if we check the site and what exactly we can bet on relating to the covid-19.
Some sites really put a bet on big events, including crisis or this one pandemic, they just like to make money at all, but if that's not against the law, they can't loss their license, and for sure, a site with a big money at stake, they will not make a foolish move, they know what they are doing for sure.

Authorities should probably not allow bettings (esp big bets) on things like future crisis or anarchy. That could encourage bad wealthy bettors to create the crisis in order to win their bets. Hopefully that sort of betting is not allowed on decentralized betting platforms. Morality & safety should play a key role on how we design this systems.
3606  Economy / Gambling / Re: YoloGames.info - Free Tournaments with real prizes on: May 01, 2020, 08:33:05 AM

What kind of tournament exactly? Don't know much about Yolo game but I just noticed via Google that it is a card game, right? So, players will be competing with each other on a card game.. I guess this is between two players?
By the way, "without any deposit" means players are not paying to play, right?
I wonder if it's skill-based.

I haven't checked google but it is not a card game. We just came up with it a couple weeks ago so I doubt it's listed yet.

It's a dice game played on YoloDice. No Cards. Yes, the level of skill vs luck is questionable, but we have lots of fun and it really is free for players.

The levels are outlined on the diagram you can find here: https://yologames.info/running-the-circuit/

Oh, OK.
I Googled Yolo game and this showed up at the top of the result:
Quote
"YOLO is the addicting card game where the lowest score wins! Players are dealt four cards face down. ... If you think your set of four cards is lower than everyone else's, then it is time to GO FOR IT!"
Guess that is another type of the game it is referring to. And card games are usually skill-based.
3607  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: RISK and REWARD are not always correlated on: May 01, 2020, 08:08:58 AM
I agree!
Skills/information is required to minimize risk. However, (in my opinion) you could start little or with what you can afford to lose in a business or trading you have no skill in order to learn from experience. You can then start scaling up the business or expand it once you start doing well or being consistently profitable.
3608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sport betting site offering bets on the Covid-19 pandemic. Worst site now. on: May 01, 2020, 07:48:24 AM
Inhumane.

Putting bets related to the pandemic shouldn't been supported by bettors.
Not just an inhumane act but it is more than that.
I wasn't expecting people to think the way that it looks more than a joke. I condemn those people who put their bets it is just like they are playing the life of the people around.

Maybe creating a Coronavirus coin is acceptable for me but if we include this in gambling, it is highly not acceptable. I wasn't thinking about a business involved in this but its something people make it for their unreasonable act.
They've gone too far imho yet we are dealing or betting with peoples live which is really a very unethical thing to be done by a sports betting site.
This will really surely mess up their reputation and also this shouldnt really be supported by bettors that it looks like their playing/betting something
which really inappropriate. They are making out possible profits by betting on this kind of line- Wondering if there would be legal actions towards this?

One of the many disadvantages of such games is that people could be tempted to try spread the virus to win a big bet. Shouldn't be allowed at all unless maybe they are betting on what treatment is better, what can minimize lockdown and things like that.
3609  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining: Halving will destroy the half of us. on: April 30, 2020, 05:00:46 PM
The price will adjust but there's a tendency that they have to shut their small miners and wait for that price adjustment to come. Maintenance and other costs can't be sustained anymore if the price won't adjust and that's the final resort that they must do.

Not unless these small miners are using:

wind power or solar panel will be exceptions for obvious reasons.

and also cheap electricity.

Small miners could still be affected If the rewards continue to get slashed every four years, price of energy & hardware remain thesame or doesn't reduce substantially, while coin price doesn't move up very much. Community probably could do away with miners and replace that with something more sustainable and decentralized or find other ways to incentive & keep the small miners

3610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose a good project and avoid fraud projects? I need your advice on: April 30, 2020, 02:53:55 PM
Similar topic and discussion might help: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5244550.0

We currently don't have a generally accepted good standards for ranking cryptocurrency projects. So, the different ranking will hardly agree...Every ranking site ranks as it wishes. You could be lucky though with some of the rankings. We just need consistency with the different rankings.
3611  Other / Off-topic / If you could protect the identities of voters in decentralized manner on: April 30, 2020, 02:11:18 PM
If you could protect the identities of voters in decentralized manner, lots of the influences corrupt people have on them will be minimized.
There should be good anonymous voting platforms that can randomize voters and hide their identities to prevent the corrupt from scaring them or having any influence over them.
You could combine the voters anonymity with decentralized & secure IDs.

Centralized platforms are not the right & secure ways to source for vote for things related decentralization.

3612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayor Of Las Vegas wants the whole city open, including casinos and stadiums on: April 30, 2020, 09:42:35 AM
They probably could open stadium ...certain kinds of stadia though (especially those that are not enclosed or those with open space for fresh air). Stadium visitors will still need to apply the social distancing.
Not sure about the hotels and casinos that exist there. Those could easily attract crowds(in such enclosed environments) which against the rules. If they end up opening, they will still be required to get their costumers & others to observe social distancing while  wearing masks and other things as adviced.
So, social distancing could still mean few customers coming to the physical businesses. They will run at low capacity unless they earn online too.
3613  Economy / Gambling / Re: Introducing The HalvingGame.com: Put your money where your mouth is! on: April 30, 2020, 08:28:13 AM
Where exactly is the bet going to be held? On Binance, or participants will be predicting binance price from a different site with binance api? Guess it's from this site: https://halvinggame.com/ ?
Well, wish this could be combined with day trading so that bettors can trade the daily volatility while betting on other available games(if you have others) or waiting for the halving date.
3614  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the Oil be burned and how it will affect the climate on: April 30, 2020, 08:01:20 AM
Firstly I do not think the government is doing right.
Killing so many animals , destroying the resources just because they don't want to give it for free to decrease their price .
This is ridiculously irrelevant , when they can actually do good and distribute it to those in need .
It would have an impact on the environment for sure because unlike the renewable sources of energy , it is not unlimited. They will destroy the natural resources plus pollution cannot be completed avoided , even if they use the secure burning facilities , they would actually use the filters to filter out the dangerous particles from it but it would inturn cost much more for the government to build a facility like this and at the same time keep changing the air filters in the chimneys .
So if they do it , they are stupid.

The wastage really surprises me  sometimes. I mean, there are things that can be done to food/meat to preserve them naturally for long-term storage. I would be really surprised if the foods are being destroyed because they don't want to give them to people for free or at very cheap price.
Can people really do such thing?
In regards to the oil issue, they should have anticipated this problem, and even avoid the use of oil by societies due its many problems and consequences to the environments. You don't invent things, overlook the consequences and hope that nothing goes wrong.
3615  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think the earth can return to normal? on: April 30, 2020, 07:30:57 AM
Lots of people are in deep sleep. They don't really know what is going on. They don't know what is currently ruling them in their country. They don't know they are being decieve in great measure. They don't know what is coming next. They are not really repenting and accepting GOD to be healed of their sin and diseases. They are not planning.
The false prophets and teachers are being used to mislead many. They promise peace when evil is coming. They have refused to tell people the truth so that they can change for the better and be saved.
3616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why there is no Standard Marketplace like Amazon with BTC as payment method?? on: April 29, 2020, 05:39:36 PM
Lots of the problems can be addressed with well built decentralized marketplaces that respect national laws, operate in efficient, safe and decentralized-crypto friendly manner. If for example a government requires that a decentralized marketplace kyc its customers according to the country's law, you could do it without exposing the customers to dangers, esp risk associated with centralized collection & holding of IDs ... the marketplace should also be transparent enough for authorities to monitor the market for unsafe/bad things that are prohibited in their countries. < These and others can be done without compromising on decentralization principles.
3617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I introduce a coin that I believe it is good but no one care? on: April 29, 2020, 05:04:29 PM
Well, one of the main reasons this is so is because we probably don't have organized and good crypto projects review community/communities. If we have that already, it should be affordable and decentralized ... the review community could earn its living via some additional sustainable ways.
By the way, what makes you believe the coin is good? Have you thoroughly researched and peer reviewed it or something? And you should be reviewing based on decentralized-crypto community agreed safe/good  acceptable standards

And I think one of the additional ways to help such community/dApp to earn decent living is by using  algorithm to rank really good dapps up within their "service section" (eg: section for dApps/communities that review new projects.) in a cryptocurrency. This should help them be more visible, gain more customers, be popular, and increase their earnings from fees, ads, native token, donations, grants, etc.  This kind of ranking is probably lacking in decentralized Crypto world .

3619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Takes Place Amidst Pandemic on: April 29, 2020, 10:38:17 AM
Well, it depends on the country's rule on social distancing and stuff like that. Is it mandatory there? If yes, then the boxers have broken the rules by boxing close together. This is one of the problems with games that require player contact in public. Besides, boxing (a game of violence) isn't something worth taking risk for (court risk esp) in this current situation.
