3601  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Youtube channel - what would you like to see? on: October 25, 2021, 08:56:53 AM
snip

So who was the presenter in the teaser, anyway?

@BtcTalkShow Twitter got 27 Followers  vs YouTube  11 subscribers
Now 15 subscribers as I write this.  Where are all the channel supporters??

Suscribed and liked!

Nice introduction, I actually like the professionalism of it, it has to look and feel that way
but the content is what will hopefully set it apart. I'm also wondering who the presenter is....Cyrus?

Sinner took the title in the Antwerp Open, it was so clinical that the score was lopsided, not even Over in this match, 6-2, 6-2. Good win by Sinner against a tough Schwartzman but Sinner was playing perfect in this tournament.

As I have predicted, it will be Sinner on this one. And he seems that he has improved a lot in terms of mental toughness and tennis IQ. He knows how to read his opponents strengths and weaknesses and turn it into points. Congrats to those who bet on him.

snip

I also had Sinner to win this.
I watched rhe match and he looked super focussed. There were some super rallies
but Sinner always had that winning shot with power and angles.

Swartzman played a good game and actually didnt do much wrong, sinner was just
sublime. It looks like he has progressed a lot in the last 2 or 3 months.
3603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HODL, HODL when can one actually sell Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2021, 10:22:19 PM
Sell it whenever you think you need to, remember though you can only sell it once!
be selective with something which is becoming rarer and rarer as supply reduces
and demand increases.

There are many different attitudes towards Bitcoin, some say HODL and never sell,
others spend it regularly, Bitcoin can be whatever you want it to be, eran and spend,
or earn/buy and HODL.
3604  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin metrics “INSANELY BULLISH”! Can the King go to 200K or more this cycle? on: October 24, 2021, 04:40:20 PM
This post of mine from 10 months ago is aging well! $67K I’m the bag, and my prediction is for a BTC peak price this market cycle of ~$150K late Dec before a bear cycle starts 1st Quarter 2022 - which would be exactly midway between my $100-200K prediction 10 months ago if it comes to bear … or bull would be more appropriate lol!

It is not wise to draw conclusions based only on the part of the tweet you have read, because the second part explains why the number of such addresses has increased. If an address is presumed to be lost, the amount on it is important only in the context that because of that, all those coins in circulation may one day be worth more.

Quote
$BTC crossing $20k has turned all early miner addresses (50 BTC block rewards, unspent or lost) into millionaire addresses.

The market became optimistic with the approval of the first BTC ETF in the US, but that optimism quickly melted away when people realized it was a futures-based ETF. Although I keep reading that crypto exchanges have liquidity problems (the biggest since 2018), and that no one wants to sell even when we reach the new ATH, I wonder why then the price is falling instead of rising?

I'm not a pessimist, but I'm also wondering what could be the trigger for the price to reach $100k by the end of the year, because the market does not depend on magic and good fairies, but on good news and a lot of money to flow in the BTC direction.

There was definitely a case of "Buy the rumour, sell the news". There are a few more
ETF's being decided on very shortly also but yea the important one is that "spot" ETF
where the fund is not settled with FIAT.

TBH we here were wondering why the shortage in supply didnt correlate into positive
price moves particularly in August and September.

I think that will play out more in this last Q.
3605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 24, 2021, 12:28:37 PM

Maybe the first time that we have seen the first and second seed facing each other in the finals for any tournament (I could be wrong).

Schwartzman is really tearing this tournament as he defeated Brooksby and same with Sinner vs Harris.

All the totals are in the under, amazing, semis not getting into a 3rd and final set.

So yeah, (2) Schwartzman vs (1) Sinner hard to predict but I will go with Sinner to win.

Wasnt the final last year also Sinner v Swartzman, I wonder if they were also seeded 1 and 2 then?
I cant believe that there hasnt been 1 v 2 pairings over the years, interesting thought though.

I have Sinner to win today also, It could go to 3 sets but for me Sinner has looked clinical so far.

I'm watching Kontaveit play Vondrousova in Moscow at the moment. The former looks bored as though she is playing a warm-up practice match. The latter is currently trailing but looks more focused in her game play, so I've got mixed feelings who will win.

(Kontaveit is ahead 6-3 and it's 15all in this set).

Kontaveit took the win in 3 sets, witht he 3rd set a close call 6-4, 4-6, 5-7

3608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super |Sixes|Sevens | Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics. on: October 24, 2021, 09:36:11 AM
That match is scheduled for later on this evening, local time 21:05! La Rochelle
are heavy favourites at 1.07.

The Racing Metro 92 - Montpellier match was not how I thought it was going to go,
Racing were 3 on the Top14 table with Montpellier down in  9th or 10th.

In the United Championship there were 2 big upsets yesterday as far as im concerned,
Connacht beat Ulster 36-11 and The Ospreys beat Munster 18-10. Thats 2 of the top 4 on
the table beaten by teams way lower down the table.

If I had been able to bet on those games yesterday I would have lost big time.

Really happy for Connacht, scoring 5 tries with 5 conversions, on their day
they are capable of beating any team in this comp. but its the consistency which is poor.
3609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 23, 2021, 04:38:44 PM
Swartzman v Brooksby in the semi, that should be a cracker, Brooksby is playing
great and is slight favourite for this match, on Sportsbet he is 1.67 to 2.17 for Diego.

I am really unsure as to who to bet on, Brooksby has beaten everyone so far in 2
sets but Swartzman is playing with confidence here Huh

In the other final I have Sinner to beat Harris...

Well Diego Schwartzman is a clay player but is a much more experienced one as well. While Brooksby is really young but has a strange way of hitting the ball even Djokovic lost the first set to him trying to figure out how to play against him. I would go with Brooksby in this match.

That's true Brooksby has somewhat of a weird playstyle in my opinion. As he plays an unorthodox style, he can make his opponent sweat for those points. As most of the players are used to playing against a certain type of playstyle. Even the legendary Djokovic couldn't figure out what to do about that. I think I will go for Schwartzman, vs Sinner in the finals.

Well it will be either v Sinner in the final, Sinner was fairly impressive today
against Harris who was also performing quite well, very few unforced errors
on both sides, TBH I can see Sinner winning outright at this stage.

and Swartzman has the first set 6-4.

He is a semi finalist here for the last 2 years so like Sinner this court seems
to suit him.
3610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinmarketcap hack leaked 3.1 million emails! on: October 23, 2021, 04:12:00 PM
This database is actually a goldmine for people who know how to exploit it correctly. Imagine having access to 3.1 million email addresses from people who will sign up for any and every dollar they can get. I reckon a good portion of them will click on whatever you feed them.
They also have 3.1 million email addresses of people who are definitely involved in crypto, and almost all of which will have a couple of exchange accounts using the same email address. Now they cross reference those email addresses against database leaks from other services in which passwords were also leaked, and start trying to break in to these emails since far too many people reuse passwords across several (or even all) of their accounts.

How do Binance let a website that is owned and operated by them was hacked like this. It destroys their reputation in this industry.

Binance has hack in the past.
You answered your own question. Most people either won't even know their details have been hacked, or are too clueless to care. Binance have been hacked multiple times in the past as you point out, and yet people continue to flock to them.

Thats exactly it and something people dont realise, it might just be a email address but its
another piece of the jigsaw to enable hackers to access more and more of our personal
information and/or online accounts.

Thankfully I dont have a CMC account but I have all my other online crypto accounts changed
to a useless gmail account which I can delete/ignore in future.
3611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price vs Iphone Price at launch on: October 23, 2021, 03:48:33 PM
Yup, the power of numbers on the human brain!!!

I guess this is why we see prices of .49 or .99 rather than whole numbers. If it is not a whole number we are suddenly thinking that's more of an acceptable price to pay. A whole science behind this stuff but it always helps to put it in perspective, especially when dealing with crypto

Yep. And this is why I think we should be using smaller bitcoin denominations by default; because a lot of ignorant people are unnecessarily getting attracted to "cheap" prices, thinking that the likes of XRP and DOGE will reach bitcoin's price levels even though their total supply is far far higher.

I also think we should be pricing things in smaller denominations, as in Satoshi's,
especially on exchanges, It would definitely be comparible to some $hitcoin pricing,
and would attract some more retail investment and pull them away from the above.

ATM you can get ~ 100,000 Satoshi's for $60

You should try converting 0.02 BTC to 20 mBTC or 2.000.000 satoshi.

As much as I'd want to, it's really difficult to do these kinds of mental gymnastics to my own head if 99% of services and exchanges still has BTC as the default denomination lol.

Yea I have the same but I'm getting used to working it out . . . very roughly!

$62,000
0.1BTC = $6,200
0.01BTC = $620
0.001BTC = $62
0.0001BTC = $6.20
0.0002BTC = $12.40
0.00021BTC = $12.40 + $0.62

So yea pricing the Iphone in BTC or Satoshi's is less shocking.

Still cant see any United Rugby matches listed, I have two bets on the French Top14,
actually the only 2 I can put pets on ATM, Racing92 and Toulouse.

And from the screenshot below I cant bet on The NZ v USA match.

_..:| EDIT |:.._

Half Time in the Racing92 - Montpellier match and Montpellier are ahead 14 - 26
and Racing92 are 3.50 to win, definitely worth a bet on Racing2.

I was too slow putting a bet on Australia, The game was over before I could
bet, I didnt keep pay attention to the date and time. Anyway they won but
probably not as comfortably as many thought. 32 - 23

Japan are a decent side.

In te United Championship I see [or dont see] Sportsbet have not listed the
games for this round?

In the notable game for me of this weekend, Glasgow Warriors v Leinster, Well
what I thought was going to be a real close match didnt materialise, it was
double scores 15 - 31 to leinster.

I might be interested in this! is there any sales history on the web for these?

Where are you shipping from? EU, US etc.

Also can I ask how they have been stored?

Apologies for all the Q's
3617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 22, 2021, 07:55:52 PM
Re Murray, yes it was a close second set to go to the tie break. Look everyone knows
Murray is not going to win a grand slam or possibly any tournament. He can compete
generally up to R3 depending on who he meets.

It also has to be said that Swartzman had a good game also, Diego can be unpredictable
a lot of the time with his results, yesterday happened to be a good day for him.

No disrespect to either player.
3618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 21, 2021, 09:39:18 PM
Norrie is currently 10th in the race. If we assume (and I think we can) that Nadal will not take part, then that puts Norrie in 9th.

6. Berrettini 4,000
7. Ruud 3,015
8. Nadal 2,985
9. Hurkacz 2,955
10. Norrie 2,795

He won't catch Berrettini. So if Nadal isn't competing, he just needs to overtake either Hurkacz (160 points above) or Ruud (220 points above).
Given how consistent Norrie has been this season, it's certainly possible. Alternatively if someone else above him (as well as Nadal) pulls out, then he's made it so long as he maintains his current position.
Is it just me or top 10 looks kind of weak this year? Ruud and Norrie are good players but not top 10 at least for me. They have consistency but I don't see them competing for biggest titles which a top 10 player should be able to do on regular basis. Berretini and Hurkacz are not that consistent but they can compete with anybody when in form.

Wanted to check if I am biased so went googling and found following on Wikipedia. This is weakest top 10 in last 20 years for me. But ok there is still time till year end and maybe we will see some changes.

I see your point, Ruud in #7, I thought the likes of Sinner for example would be
higher up. Its definitely a strong top 5 or 6 though.

1Novak Djokovic  8,370
2Daniil Medvedev 6,740
3Stefanos Tsitsipas  5,650
4Alexander Zverev  5,095
5Andrey Rublev 4,165
6Matteo Berrettini4,000

The points dont lie, these are the big points winners of this year so far
and disregarding Nadal, the most consistent.

Thats a very interesting link for sure. That chart just proves how wrong
they have been - every time

As we see more ETF's getting approved we will see greater acceptance
of Bitcoin by the Business class and high net worth investors, you know,
the ones who up until now have been the ones shooting down Bitcoin.

As soon as they see it as just another stock, commodity, currency and
can make more money off of it the less they will hate it.
3620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super |Sixes|Sevens | Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics. on: October 21, 2021, 05:21:12 PM
I am always in awe at these top players who can train and play together on a national level
and then compete against each other on a weekly/monthly basis, but always after a match
there is respect for each other.

Back to Leinster, Their key play maker Johnny Sexton is missing this weekend and
they play Glasgow Warriors, one of the few teams that can upset them, the Untied Championship
R5 is not listed yet on sportsbet, im interested to see the odds on that game.
