3621  Other / Meta / Re: Is it better to have a place to discuss only about NFTs? on: May 01, 2023, 10:08:47 AM
So if hundreds of artists began to post their Ordinals in the Bitcoin Discussion, that would be okay? I don't believe that it would be. In fact, I think moderators would have a field day deleting the topics. The reason why there has not been much posting is because there is no section for them. If there was, I am sure the section would be embraced. Ordinals are not just important for art/graphics, but also more valuable creations such as music.

I disagree. If there is no section, one can always post his topic in most relevant section, which is Bitcoin discussion for ordinals. If there is lot of interest found for particular subject, then one may think about having separate section.

3622  Other / Meta / Re: Is it better to have a place to discuss only about NFTs? on: May 01, 2023, 05:15:18 AM
Discussion about ordinals should be within its own board because this is a feature that is integrated into Bitcoin. Just like Lightning network should have its own board, and so should Taproot.

I don't think so tbh. All these can be posted in Bitcoin discussion, they aren't having that much posting that they should be having separate board for them.
3623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Zksync ERA is here on: May 01, 2023, 02:33:16 AM
After the successful airdrop from Arbitrum, all attention is focused on the upcoming airdrop from zkSync Era. In order not to be a bystander and qualify for the upcoming airdrop, it is necessary to interact with the main zkSync Era network. You can see a detailed guide here: https://airdropclaimers.medium.com/zksync-era-mainnet-complete-guide-575a439feabb

This one feels different from ARB.  With ARB I mostly used it out of interest to see what the fuss was all about with L2's...  And I liked using it because it didn't require me to buy a token.  The airdrop was an added bonus and it's good to feel that early users are appreciated.

Precisely, this is how it should be. Use dapps/chain just because you are interested in them and not with expectation for retrospective airdrop.

Quote
Now that a lot of people realized they missed out on ARB, they're all going into zKSync to get their chance for getting into an airdrop of their own.  But I don't think it's gonna be the next rotation that everybody is waiting for.  I think it's gonna be Zero Layer's airdrop.  Same vibe as ARB.  No announcement of an airdrop but you know it would be stupid of them not to have one.

So many people are farming zksync and layerzero that I have feeling that there won't be airdrop for them, and if there wil be, it gonna be with stringent requirements.

3624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: humanity's dream to make a money on: May 01, 2023, 02:26:49 AM
Bitcoin miner you talk about asks for investment first. Humanity's work is usually to get riches first, so money can start working for them. This requires financial knowledge too, without it money is soon lost.
3625  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading without fees on: May 01, 2023, 02:18:52 AM
I registered on mexc, probit — didn't trade for sometime and I got emails with discount on trading fees. I also had account on binance without kyc, they also sent me $20 trade fee discount voucher. Take it as you may.
3626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi coin on: May 01, 2023, 02:13:06 AM
To me it just seems harvesting of data — from registration (phone number) to mining (I'm not sure what exactly but constant running in background must be doing something) to trying to withdraw (kyc).

There are people who have their kyc is in review for 1 freakin year.
3627  Other / Meta / Re: Proposal for AI Integration with BitcoinTalk forum on: May 01, 2023, 01:45:07 AM
I'd like to add something on point number 1, which already very well said.

Wouldn't employing an AI to analyze and predict market movement based on forum's discussion mean it'll be more easy to create a hype or PnD? All a trash project need is creating a fake buzz by having a bounty asking the participants to create an enthusiastic post on the forum? Yes, it is against forum's rule to incentivize post, but as they're already here to scam and rugpulling people, I am very much sure they won't mind breaking that forum's rule as well.

The AI won't be able to determine if the discussion is organic or artificial, and voila, the clueless members of this forum get scammed and the scammers get an easier way to run with people's money.

Fake hype can partially be countered by stats of users such as merits, user with good amount of 'earned' merits, his opinion of high value. However, this kind of gets deep, one implemention asks for many measures, so much that it might no longer be feasible to implement in first place.
3628  Other / Meta / Re: Account rank and posts on: May 01, 2023, 01:23:58 AM
Ok, so I didn't know deleting posts lowers the activity. I dislike my merit/activity ratio, should I delete posts or is it something that is frowned upon?
3629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: April 30, 2023, 04:57:03 AM
When Salt and Marsh were playing, I thought DC would win easily but their fall and dc gone. Literally useless batters except akshar and three foreign players (warner, salt, marsh). Same happens with RCB, even if they reach play-offs they won't be able to win trophy because of their dependency.

3630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Take good care of yourselves on: April 30, 2023, 04:50:47 AM
Even if you exclude Bitcoin, most people do jobs to accumulate money thinking they will enjoy fruits when they are older, meanwhile by then age catches up with you and it's late to do some things. If you are not healthy everything else is fruitless — no matter riches, hot wife, whatever.
3631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH gas fees are a joke. on: April 30, 2023, 03:43:02 AM
@op You should have waited a bit for PEPE hype to cool down.

I thought the so-called ethereuem network migration from proof of work to proof of stake will solve their network problems and to hear that ethereum holders still have to pay high gas fees for transactions is a show off of how the so-called proof of stake propaganda was a failed experiment.

That's misunderstanding. It was just transition, it didn't decrease gas fees, but it has created a platform for future enhancements that will lower the gas fees.

3632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What role have altcoinsplayed in the entire cryptocurrency industry on: April 30, 2023, 03:19:41 AM
Ether paved way for nfts and defi, nft brought several huge companies into crypto space. Steem/Hive people create/curate content and make a living.

It has a negative role, most of these altcoin lose their value over time and instead of increasing the demand for bitcoin, they take part of the market share and do not provide anything unique.

Is it tho? Any decent trader/investor converts their profits from alts to btc.
3633  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Why Coinmarketcap and Coingecko help scammers ? on: April 30, 2023, 03:08:02 AM
They just show information, whether it may be correct or not, it's not their responsibility, and they might not go far to ensure correctness of what they show. Read both coingecko/cmc's disclaimer you will find creating such threads futile.

3634  Other / Meta / Re: Is it better to have a place to discuss only about NFTs? on: April 30, 2023, 02:31:06 AM
Have seen several threads requesting for same, in all of them there was answer that nft threads can be posted in altcoin discussion and thus ends the discussion.

There should be a forum for Bitcoin Ordinals as this is a part of Bitcoin that was recently integrated. The main board being for discussion, and a sub-board for people to promote (or even trade/advertise) their owned Ordinals. NFTs on the other hand are on other blockchains. NFTs do not truly exist on the Bitcoin blockchain, ordinals have just been dubbed as "Bitcoin NFTs" or "NFTs on Bitcoin".

Neither needs a new sub, post about ordinals in Bitcoin discussion section and about rest nfts in altcoin discussion.
3635  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: April 29, 2023, 10:10:09 AM
The only constraint members like me might have, is that some of us use third party screenshot and image uploading apps like Sharex. These apps upload images automatically to preset sites like Imgur, So I wonder if it would be possible to incorporate your site to such apps.

I dunno for sure but I looked around a bit and sharex appears to support custom hosts, so you might be able to change the host and get done what you are looking for? I don't have pc to check otherwise I'd confirm it personally myself  Tongue
3636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting security incidents last week on: April 29, 2023, 09:33:08 AM
Some hardware wallets are also affected, which means those hardware wallets were connected to an already infected device.

This is untrue, infected device can't affect hardware wallet since they are airgapped, drains from HW must be leaked to seed leak ( place where user stored his seed, as mentioned in article it could be related to LastPass data breach).
3637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: April 29, 2023, 09:14:34 AM
Considering the overall performance, which four teams do you think will eventually qualify for the IPL?

Aside from top 4 at the moment, teams such as kkr, Punjab, RCB has still got chance to qualify while I pretty much consider Delhi and Hyderabad to be out already, their performance have been real poor.
3638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: April 29, 2023, 06:48:13 AM
The pitch was completely batting-friendly. Bowlers can't do much on this pitch. Punjab Kings still lost all the wickets. I would say they lost all the wickets due to stupidity. If the batsmen of Punjab Kings had batted with some responsibility from the beginning of the innings, then Punjab would have been able to collect 220-230 runs easily in this match. But they lost the top order batsmen very quickly.

I don't think you can bat responsibly when chasing target big as this, Punjab tried and they did a respectable chase.

3640  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Projects Visibility (Sig Campaigns) in Bitcointalk. on: April 29, 2023, 04:58:46 AM
Yeah, branding should be the main focus but project wants quick result lol.
I also use Sportsbet a few times per week and have never clicked on somebody's sig link to get there.
Perhaps, you came to know about sportsbet itself from someone's signature? Cheesy

I also used to consider signatures useless but then one day it dawned to me that some companies that were etched on my mind like duelbits, stake, chipmixer were solely due to me seeing their signatures often here.
