3621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I found 2 block. on: April 15, 2017, 09:54:44 AM
I have antminer and  I found 2 block  . What does that mean ?

I'm mining with nicehash and My  profit not increased , why ?

if you find a block in a pool it's not like when you find it in solo, the block will be divided to all the users that are minign in that pool, and you won't get the full reward, you can however get all the reward of the block if you were the only one in that pool, hope this help
3622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining PC Cables on: April 14, 2017, 03:11:22 PM
I've been mining mostly zcash for a month now with my 2 rx 480s in my gaming pc... I wanted to make build a dedicated 6 gpu one with the rx 570s when they come out, the motherboard I have for it has 5 x pcie x16 slots and a pcie x1 slot

Should I use one x16 to x16 molex powered riser and five x1 to x16 sata powered risers still?

hi, personal experience here, you can use 6 x 1x to x16 risers, there is no reason to use the big x16 to x16, the x1 can be plugged in the x16 slot, the only downside is if you control remotely your rig, you can have some lag with teamviewer, but if you control it directly with a monitor this problem don't appear, you will be fine
3623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum computing resistant coins? on: April 14, 2017, 03:00:51 PM
On classical computers:
- Hash inversion requires 2^N tries
- Birthday paradox allows to generate collisions with 2^(N/2) tries

On quantum computers:
- Hash inversion requires 2^(N/2) tries (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover%27s_algorithm)
- Birthday paradox combined with Grover's algo gives 2^(N/3) tries for collisions

So, 384-bit hash gives 192-bit security for inversion and 128-bit security for collision. For classical computers 384-bit hash has 384-bit security again inversion and 192-bit security against collision.

so this is like doing the square root of 2 right? i mean a quantum computer have a computional power that allow it to make the square root of 2 on the strength of the hash compared to a normal computer
3624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT ALTCOIN HIGH PROFIT DAY PER DAY on: April 14, 2017, 02:53:49 PM
What altcoin high profit day per day

trading or mining? i can tell you that by trading pivx is doing good, lbry is doing good on both trading and mining, and spreadcoin is good for gpu mining but there is no pool, it's about luck, you have also big coin like zcash and ETH which are ok if you can dual mine, for etheruem with pascal or sia

Does anyone have a RYZEN processor?
I am curious what is its performance compared to Intel.

OK, now I have Ryzen 1700X 3,8Ghz....

Intel i7 6700k  @4,3Ghz    550 hash/s
Ryzen 1700X      3,8Ghz    800 hash/s

Smiley

is that profitable, how many coins per day? now that the price is rising i can give it a shot with my ryzen if there is some profit like 100-300k satoshi per day
3626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Launched: PiCoin [POS+POW] [SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN=AIRDROP] on: April 14, 2017, 10:24:16 AM
too sad that ppl are only after quick profit. Nobody has a minimum of trust towards the dev that he will put all his effort into this project to make it a success.
While I am with this project since almost the beginning, I start to understand why some devs just abandon their coin as the community is not interested in the coin itself, but only after fast profits.

I for my part will keep supporting the coin.

@picoindev: No need to answer this question but you might consider some reward system in the future for ppl running a full node 24/7, maybe something like a masternode or such. As this gets more and more popular, it would be worth to think about it quite early of development.

you know, giving a value to the coins is useful, it make the coin worth something, it's not about being greedy dude, it's about keeping the coin alive, we need an exchange, so people can trade, and attract more investors more people and make the user base of picoin bigger, what about OTC thread done right with escrow? we can start from there
3627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC Segwit is over 70% on: April 14, 2017, 10:15:52 AM
Looks like it is not going to make Segwit  Embarrassed

Why do you say that??? It's currently at 82%
Because YOU do not understand the activation process. There must be 75% of an activation period of 8064 blocks. We are in period 5. There is no way it will activate in period 5 because there are not enough blocks left to achieve the required 75% activation.

Period 6 is where it CAN happen, if things stay the way they are. Do you think that is going to happen?

what do you mean with period 5 and 6? from what i have understood, segwit need to remain activate for 8064 block and we are at 7383 block, check this http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php, less than 700 blocks are left before activation

It needs to hit or exceed the 75% for the entirety of an activation window.  This window it was averaging in the high 60 percent for most of it so it won't hit the 75% overall needed.  Next window/retarget starts tomorrow, so it needs to stay at this 80+% for about two weeks starting then.

that site say that only 258 block are left until period end, litecoin have 576 block per day, this make us need only for half a day for this activation to happen, the two weesk have almost passed already, or that is a bad indicator?
3628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to Spot a Promising Altcoin (Price Wise) READ DESCRIPTION FIRST on: April 14, 2017, 10:04:50 AM
I am quiet new in the Cryptocurrency World but I am no stranger to the Stock the Stock Market. I have been Investing in it and I know what I am doing the only problem is

Questions
1. How do I know that this Altcoin is a good altcoin to invest in? (Not another Pump and Dump)
2. How to analyze an Altcoin Fundamentally Speaking?
3. What are the indicators that it is an Altcoin for growth?

I hope you answer my questions properly as I am a willing investor to diversify my portfolio outside of the Stock Market.

1. How do I know that this Altcoin is a good altcoin to invest in? (Not another Pump and Dump)

i only invest in coin that have new algo and dev is active with nice features, these are good indicators, but remember that all altcoin are pump and dump in the end

2. How to analyze an Altcoin Fundamentally Speaking?

i analyze altcoin, with their specs, they parameters are very important for me, block time reward and how much premine for the dev, and if this premine is justified

3. What are the indicators that it is an Altcoin for growth?

if dev deliver always somethign enw, you can be assured that the coin will grow
3629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good Altcoin for longterm investment on: April 14, 2017, 10:02:34 AM
i saw ethereum is the most invested and suggested by all member who replying this thread..
but anyone can tell me,, how much total cap of this ethereum ?

etheruem is very strong the total marketcap, is 4 billions coin, this alone is 1/4 of bitcoin, when they say that if ethereum die all the alt will follow it's true, because all the diff on other coins will be so high that not profit will be possible anymore
3630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead altcoin ICO's. on: April 14, 2017, 10:00:53 AM
Hi. I have some questions about altcoins. I see alot of dead ICO's about certain coins, essentially hijacking the coins name without using it. These are generally threads from 2013/2014, What would happen/is it possible to reuse the name of these coins without getting myself into any trouble etc?

you can reuse the name as many time as you want, in fact there are many coins with the same name, cheack picoin, from 2014 and from 2017, what you need to do is change the ticker, the abbreviation of your coin, to something else, if you have like two picoin, the ticker can be pic or pc for example, and exchange will have no problem adding it

i could be wrong, but isn't UASF a way for dev core to force miners to adopt segwit? http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoins-latest-scaling-twist-support-building-uasf/
The Bitcoin Core developers have nothing to do with UASF, nor is UASF/BIP148 part of Bitcoin Core. Don't spread false information.

sorry but where you see that i have mentioned bitcoin core? i just said that it's a way to force miners accepting segwit, the coindesk article isn't talking about core being behind UASF

barcellona and madrid, made me the most money when talking about sport betting, i also see that some italy soccer team are good to bet in, like juventus, the odd are always in favor of this team, it's an easy win for your betting here

3634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How high will ETH go with Raiden pump? on: April 13, 2017, 04:38:16 PM
i think now the focus is on litecoin, and everything that come with segwit, i don't remember if ETH need segwit, but maybe not, the hype for segwit is really strong, because of all the stuff about bitcoin and forcing miners to activate segwit, for now i can't see ethereum getting another good pump like the last one, but i could be wrong, crypto is really unpredictable
3635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum computing resistant coins? on: April 13, 2017, 04:33:23 PM
it's false, that quantum can break sha 256

To stay 128-bit secure against collisions all hash functions must have at least 384-bit length in post-quantum epoch. If collisions are allowed and only invertibility needs to be preserved then 256-bit length is fine.

i didn't know about this, thanks for clarification, so to have 256 bit secure against collision you need 384 x 2 bit?

In addition to checks and balances in consensus and Trust Keys with Network recognized Reputation providing greater security and network stability, Nexus also has Quantum Computer Resistant Private Keys with 571-bit encryption (much more secure than Bitcoin). Meaning, Nexus serves the WORLD as the most secure cryptocurrency to date.

I also thought I heard someone from Heat talking about this but I'm not sure if Heat is (maybe)

it's false, that quantum can break sha 256, they are spreading misinformation in fct it's not sha256 which is in danger of quantum when they will be available, but it's a round of hash to have the private key, i think it was called ECDSA but i maybe wrong, this is vulnerable, and if nexus is using this for their private key they will be vulnerable also

Nexus is using 571bit priv keys, still as i believe it is using elliptic curve cryptography but having a greater bit length means it would require much more qbits to crack than bitcoin for example. Theres no such thing as quantum proof only quantum resistant cryptography.

Also regarding the argument that bitcoin can simply fork to a new algo, no one can even agree on how to solve the scaling issue with bitcoin i wouldn't bet on a hard fork to change anything in bitcoin being adopted in a short span of time. The time in which it took to reach consensus would leave any priv key used more than once vulnerable.

if nexus use ECDSA then nexus have the same vulnerability as bitcoin

If there was a Quantum computer mining an Altcoin wouldn't that be a good thing for the investors? Only so many coins could get mined and the whole fact that a Quantum Computer is mining the coin would bring more people into the project right?

i think quantum computer would be unfair, could mine multiple coins at once and not only one, without losing hash like you do know with a cpu coin, if you have 1khs with a cpu now you can mine two coin with 500hs each, but with quantum remain 1khs for both coins

lol $100 are you seirous? it's currently traded at 22k satoshi, there is no even a single chance to be worth around 0.09, it's simply impossible, and cloack coin is also a old coin, if they were going to pump it why they didn't in all these 3 years? i think you are a bagholder that is trying to pump is coin, but i'll not fall for this trap sorry

3639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is Crypto affected by Geopolitical uncertainty/events? Better or Worse ? on: April 13, 2017, 10:30:40 AM
Heya,

In the situation where we have a big world event (war, financial crash... etc) what are your thoughts on where Cryptocurrency fits in?.  In stock trading, people move to safe havens such as commodities like Gold.  Not something I like to think about or wish on any of us, but I'm curious for a dialogue on whether you think people would opt to withdraw into Fiat or other safe havens or whether new investors would flood to Cryptocurrency?

i think crypto is a safe havens, people are moving here because they think its better to have your money here and not in fiat anymore, with all the recent problem and crysis that is affecting bak and government it's better to store your money in crypto, at elast this is true for me, in a world war scenario, crypto are perfect because you can hide your money and cover them from thief, more easily than cash or debit card credit card
3640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is so good about Bitconnect? on: April 13, 2017, 10:28:39 AM
it's a coincidence that a scrypt coin like bitconnect have this enormous value when bitmain is releasing its new scrypt miner which is very profitable? i think miners company are pumping these scam coin, and selling miners to make even more profit, i don't like sha or scrypt clone of bitcoin and litecoin, they are there only for scammers
