Thanks for the clarifications, everyone. PS: I can't seem to access the polimedia site. I'm getting: Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /trilema/2012/sa-ne-jucam-de-a-investitiile-n-bitcoini/ on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. The site works through a proxy, though. It sounds like you are IP banned. This is almost always because that IP has been sending comment spam. I recommend running a strong anti-virus to find any trojans/rootkits/etc on your system after which please PM me your IP. My ISP is a dynamic IP provider, so there might be problems like this. Are you banning the entire Malaysia region in your IP tables? I'll PM you my IP too - half of my computers here run on Linux, the other quarter Mac and the last quarter PC. The two of my Windows PC's are always running in VM mode so a cold reboot clears everything, not to mention the scanners present. My coins would be the first to go on the event of a security breach. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Hmm. Jakers, what is your reason here? It's not looking good for you. This is about the 4th accusation at you in this week alone.

Shell scripting(bash) is the next level of C++ programming!
W00t? That's like stating batch is the next level of assembly! ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Uh huh. So wrong, on so many levels. I now have a cognitive dissonance induced headache. Educate me please. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I'm still under the impression that bash is a Linux version of batch in Windows, but more similar to perl/java. I've yet to learn it though, so I might be wrong here.

For the record, I did the split. It's originally in the cleaned up version of BFL's thread.

There is a theory that the pyramids were giant water pumps
And I thought the pyramids were spaceships for the Pharaoh to visit his kittens on the Moon. Hmm...

coool! thats what i thought, cpu is prety slow from what i have heard?
what would it cost to set up a mining set up that ure talking about?and is it profitible?
It's not pretty slow - it's practically not feasible. Mining a month 24/7 using the CPU might net you a couple of pennies, or next to nothing. On the FPGA and ASIC topic, please do a search around and read some stuff up. It's not that profitable like what you might think of.

|
CPU mine? BUY! Mining for bitcoins isn't worth it unless you have an ASIC or power-sipping FPGA.

Take a chill pill dude, You think rewarding people with bitcoins is going to give bitcoins a bad name and ruin other people chances of doing things with bitcoins.
What makes you think you speak for everybody?
Dude you are a Bully.
He just gave you an advice. And this advise is based on experience. We all have seen this happening so many times. Each effort to try to sell Bitcoins through any Medium that allows charge backs or the use of stolen accounts Be it through ebay, direct PayPal, Credit cards... you name it. Always results in a loss for the bitcoin selling party. And I mean always, not most of the Time. A 100%. There is not a single case where this has ended well for the Bitcoin seller. Nobody wants to discredit you effort. But you will end up with a lost and will be shut down by Apple. That's a 100% sure. Please don't make the same mistakes other already made before you. Well, this. Carders and skimmers are always on the lookout for new ways to launder their cards.

How can I find the sales volume of those sites? Would really like to know some that are doing well and could look at the overall system in place.
I don't have the exact figures, but I'd say they're doing well judging from the amount of feedback here. The products do not really matter since there was not even interest in looking in the store. here is a link to come of the current items. https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/11075-new-in-box-zippo-blue-butane-lighter-retails-54-95-half-price/seller_info# But wow I relly need to update the prices, since bitcoin has gone up the balance is way off. But I was not offering them on the bitmit setting it was on site store. That was my main thing if I seen them even go into the store I could consider the items or the prices and such but the lack of even looking was set my mindset. Simply dropshipping from China isn't going to work well IMO. You need to work out what people want, and then you can start offering them for Bitcoins. The community is more geared towards electronics, commodities, digital goods and services at the moment. Good food is also a great niche. (baklava, honey etc) In fact, people is more eager to spend Bitcoins as it is easy to mistake it for play money. I do feel less guilty when I'm spending bitcoins compared to other sources. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

If you've registered on bitcoin.cz and is currently mining on it, then yes, you're currently pool mining. However, my advice is to stop mining on a laptop with nVidia graphics. You're killing your laptop for a couple cents. Mine on desktops with ATI graphics card, or stay put for ASIC's.
It's due to the way ATI and nVidia designed their chips. In ATI, there is thousands upon thousands of miniature cores each capable of calculating simple problems, compared with nVidia's minimal amount of more powerful cores. Bitcoin mining is essentially doing simple calculations over and over again, and thus ATI's are better in this regard. An ASIC for bitcoin mining is an incredibly effective hardware for mining Bitcoins, purportedly running at over 60 GH per machine (your nVidia runs like 6-10 MH I'd wager, or like a couple of magnitudes slower). It's almost released by multiple manufacturers, although there's still no confirmed ASIC in the wild. John is giving you good advice. Laptops were never designed to have the GPU maxed out at 100% 24/7. You will destroy the graphics card in your laptop and it would be either insanely expensive to replace, or is not replaceable and will destroy the entire laptop in the process.
Earn a couple pennies this month vs a non zero chance of destroying a laptop. Hmm...
Yeah, especially the rMBP's. Everything is contained in such a small package that the mining will kill it far more quicker then a regular laptop. Not worth the mining, IMO. The worse thing is it dying after your warranty's over. Macs are really expensive to repair. (edited on request to remove some stuff)
