3621  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture HODL on: October 18, 2022, 03:47:56 PM
Personally, I used to enjoy doing labor work. I've done construction and labor work in the past. Its not a big deal.

The only thing that sucks about farming for me are mosquitos and biting insects. That's the only thing that would present a challenge if I chose to pursue a full time agriculture career. The physical work would be easy as it wouldn't be as difficult as the job I used to have.

Aren't there various repellents for all those little bloodsuckers? I know that before people used them less because of fear because they were poisonous (and now they still are), but as far as I have the opportunity to see, there are also those repellants that should be friendly to humans and the environment. I've also seen people use clothes that are designed to protect against insects while also being breathable.

I have a 50 pound bag of concrete outside. I tried to lift it with one hand. Wasn't that hard. I can carry stuff ok.

You have to think about the consequences of such actions, because all this affects the spine and possible inguinal hernias. I don't know how old you are, but in my country there is a saying that roughly says "old age will ask you where your youth was", or in other words every activity has its consequences, it's just a matter of time.

50 pounds is almost nothing, try lifting a 50 kg bag of cement Wink
3622  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: The price of your bitcoin depends on hardware wallets offered on the market. on: October 18, 2022, 03:09:45 PM
In my opinion, this topic is so pointless that I was very close to clicking on the "report to moderator" button, given that the OP is starting to write fairy tales about hardware wallets. Philosophical questions of this type are more suitable for Off topic or maybe even another board.

I know people on this forum complain mostly about Ledger (for various reasons), but I haven't noticed users complaining about Trezor in the sense that that device is as bad as the OP suggests. The experiences of others do not always have to be true, nor are they crucial in the formation of one's opinion - if that were the case, I would never invest a single cent or a single second of my time in Bitcoin.

Quote
So when you say it doesn't matter if hardware wallets are aesthetyc or not, easy to set up and use or not, buggy or not..... you don't care about bitcoin economy. And if all manufacturers act this way, then mainstream ordinary people will not use HW, will not use bitcoins, and then YOUR OWN BITCOIN will not grow in price!

Claiming that the price of Bitcoin has anything to do with whether people use hardware wallets or whether they use nice or ugly devices is one of the stupidest things I've read on this forum. I wonder if you know when the first hardware wallet was made and how Bitcoin managed to survive until then?

Not only did you not understand the advice given by some members (including me), but you decided to spam this board even more.
3623  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is crypto hot wallet that bad on: October 18, 2022, 02:15:09 PM
Sorry about this my comment, but which I found safe and secure. If you have an hardware wallet, why your coins are heavily stored on Metamask and Trustwallet? This is not recommendable at all.

I have 2 HW, but some altcoins I collected over the years I never even thought to store on them. First of all, they are not that important to me, and secondly, every altcoin and its implementation in a hardware wallet only adds some possible new attack vectors that can happen at any time in the future. What I want to say is that it is not bad for security reasons to separate Bitcoin from altcoins, so there is even a Bitcoin only firmware for a popular HW.

Some will say that for a larger amount of BTC even HW is not a good option, but for those who still want greater security, I recommend that they have a main wallet for storage protected with a passphrase, and another for altcoins and trading.
3624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problem does Bitcoin solve? on: October 18, 2022, 02:00:58 PM
Also Bitcoin, if setup properly, cannot be confiscated.
Bitcoin basically frees a person from being controlled by a particular country's monetary policy.

The problem is that a lot of those who bought Bitcoin for one reason or another still have a completely wrong understanding of how it is safe to store it where they bought it. Not only are they at risk of being hacked through phishing, clipboard malware or exchange hacking, but at any moment their funds can be frozen for any reason.

Even if you set things up the right way (non-custodial wallet), you can still depend heavily on the central system if you can't buy anything directly for Bitcoin, or if you are a client of a bank that is not crypto-friendly. In an ideal world where Bitcoin would be accepted everywhere, we could say that we are free in the financial sense - until then, someone can find himself in a situation where he has a certain amount of Bitcoin, and literally be hungry because there is no way to exchange Bitcoin for anything.
3625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may drop to $15k or so but it'll definitely hit $300k+ in coming years on: October 18, 2022, 01:30:50 PM
Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but no one should take posts like this as some kind of official opinion of the forum because it comes from a Legendary member who has not written a single reason why he thinks $300k is a realistic option in such a short period of time. We know that the next halving will be sometime in the first half of 2024, and we also know that, looking at history, a big bull run followed after that - but no matter how optimistic someone is, a price increase of even x15 seems a bit unrealistic to me.

Also for those who are waiting for a new price crash, it may or may not happen - and if you buy BTC for a few hundred $, the difference in the price today and a lower price of say $15k is not that significant. I have experienced this situation several times, the first time when people were waiting for the price to drop below $1000, and the second time for it to drop below $10 000 - it never happened.

Anything under $20k is cheap (not financial advice).
3626  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 18, 2022, 01:17:46 PM
We will see proper use of bitcoin when we will have a repeat of 2008.
Demand for Gold and Bitcoin is going to sky rocket.

You overestimate the majority of people in that they have the ability to recognize an opportunity and an alternative, and this is also evidenced by the fact that we have less than 5% of people in the world who have recognized Bitcoin from 2009 to today - so I will ask the question "will anything change by the end of the decade?"

I would like to be wrong, but most people behave like remote-controlled robots, just look at the crazy measures in the pandemic and how many people followed them without any question, even though today it is shown how pointless it all was. I would say that the demand for Bitcoin will increase, but not from ordinary people, but from big players who invest the most in the time when there is blood on the streets - and that is right now.
3627  Economy / Economics / Re: Tanzania's Move to Introducing Their own Central Bank Digital Currency on: October 18, 2022, 01:05:38 PM
While this is a good move I am of the opinion that as long as it tied to the fiat it will still be affected by many external influences, inflation, taxes, Federal Reserve policy etc. Hopefully, we'd hear of the big announcement soon enough.

A good move perhaps for politicians, but what good is there in any central currency, whether digital or not? I don't understand why people are so fascinated with CBDC, which will only violate their privacy even more - to the same or even greater extent than bank cards or various payment applications do.

I thought that the people who gather around Bitcoin would understand a little better in which direction the digital central currencies of the banks are headed, but all those who in any way experience it as something positive still haven't understood why Bitcoin exists...
3628  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About crypto? on: October 17, 2022, 04:25:09 PM
If OP improves his post quality and enters a nice signature campaign, he will in no distant time rank up to Sr member because his activity count is big already.

I think that will no longer be an option because the OP got a permanent ban for plagiarism - and according to what can be seen in BPIP, he only recently woke up and changed his password, so it is possible that the account was sold - which would explain why he ask some typical beginner questions.
3629  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Stake.com] Account Suspended | Proof of funds how to provide? on: October 17, 2022, 03:58:11 PM
I hate all the process of proving anything and KYC, that why I don't use casinos

I believe that the automatic systems used by many online casinos to prevent abuses have a very high percentage of false detections, but it seems that this is the only way they can protect themselves. However, the OP says that he is verified at level 3 (I assume that is the max level), so it is not clear to me why they are causing problems for users who have been verified.

Personally, I have nothing against casinos, but if I want to play, I still choose physical casinos or sports bookmakers.
3630  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price drops as US inflation reaches 40-Year High on: October 17, 2022, 03:36:31 PM
Even if we don't have the current situation, I believe that Bitcoin would still be in its regular bear market, although it seems to me that the price would be at least 20-30% higher than it is now. What pushed us this low is surely the biggest crypto scam in history with the Terra/Luna fiasco that caused over $60 billion in damage, and from which the crypto market will not recover for a long time.

Pandemic, inflation, recession and war have their consequences, but a lot of people lost everything they had because some hypocritical little bastard played with what he shouldn't have.
3631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Provides $500M Loan for Bitcoin Miners on: October 17, 2022, 10:31:48 AM
Big ass interest rate... if Binance wanted to really help interest wouldn't be 10%.

You noticed that well, and it was also the first thing that caught my eye with this generous offer. Obviously, CZ and his team are no better than those local criminals who lend money to desperate people, with the only difference being that the criminals have some painful debt collection methods. I just wonder what the KYC process will be like for anyone who decides to accept such an offer - maybe a picture of the owner's face next to each mining device with an invoice and serial number Roll Eyes
3632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Youtube Scam in Action on: October 17, 2022, 09:56:48 AM
Really?? So a youtuber posts scam links and you are still interested in listening to him?
What is wrong with you, people?!

Some people really have a hard time understanding something that is so obvious, and it is even stranger that such a question is asked by someone who has been on this forum for 5 years. People looking for financial advice on YT or anywhere else on social media really have a big problem. Freedom of speech combined with millions of naive people is a really wicked combination, isn't it?
3633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meet the Catholic Nuns who are Building a Church with Bitcoin on: October 17, 2022, 09:38:57 AM
~snip~

You opened a thread on that topic yesterday, and now you're posting here without warning the OP to close this topic - because we currently have three threads on the same topic in the Bitcoin discussion.

3634  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Currency should be Integrated into School Curriculum on: October 16, 2022, 03:06:08 PM
I would like all children in the world to have the opportunity to go to school and at least learn some basics (reading, writing, math), and after that all those for whom this is something completely normal start learning how to protect themselves from all the dangers on the internet, which includes crypto scams. For me, this is a much bigger problem that we seriously need to face, because the negativity that comes from all crypto scams has a very bad effect on the perception of what is the only important thing in the whole story, which is Bitcoin.

People who advocate altcoins, especially those who are premined should better understand the differences between Bitcoin, altcoins, POW and POS in order to understand what they are talking about.
3635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Prophecy on: October 16, 2022, 02:36:50 PM
Let me get this, please. The "creator" he meant is what I am confused about. Does he mean being special to Satoshi or to God? (Which creator).

I'm pretty sure the member I'm referring to is referring to god, not whoever created Bitcoin. Satoshi was an ordinary man with an idea that some other people had before him, and he, unlike them, managed to implement that idea into a work that managed to catch on. No matter what some people live in their fantasies, Bitcoin was invented by man, all the time it is powered by technology controlled by people, and god (whatever one calls him) surely has much more important work to do than dealing with technology and finance Wink
3636  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Google Sheets Extension - Scammed | New Update! on: October 16, 2022, 01:52:58 PM
@swegmen1, thank you for the warning and the detailed description, and I hope that the $200 is not something that meant too much to you in your life, so that it can be just one life lesson for you. If you can somehow (in the future) separate everything that belongs to entertainment (and it is risky) from anything related to cryptocurrencies, that would protect you from something like this happening to you again. Pirated content whether it's movies/music or software is very risky and you should find an alternative in a legal way to access such things.

I advise formatting the disk and a fresh installation of the OS to make sure that you have removed the infection.
3637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Prophecy on: October 16, 2022, 11:02:07 AM
To me, it is completely pointless to connect Bitcoin and religion the way some do, even though today everyone can found their own religion and preach in the way they want. It is true that some people may be misled in this way, so I think that people in such positions should refrain from anything that could be perceived as financial advice.

That's why I pointed it out. The Bitcoin price/market doesn't work by any form of prophecy.

Of course I agree with you, but there is a person on the forum who claims that with his actions he can influence the price of Bitcoin, and the whole thing is of course based on faith and belief that if he asks the creator to move the price to $22 000 he will listen to him because he is special (or so he thinks). I have never had any sympathy for religious fanatics of any kind, although I respect any religion that makes people better towards others and themselves.
3638  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) discussions on: October 16, 2022, 10:37:24 AM
There will always be a way to circumvent any law or regulation in a smart way, even without living in fear of breaking the law. One way is to use decentralized crypto exchanges like Bisq, or regional alternatives where people will organize themselves through social platforms and trade with Bitcoin. The only problem I see is that transactions in physical stores could be a little strange, especially if you pay with crypto in a cafe or restaurant, and before that you have to do a kind of KYC, which is a bit strange and impractical, and everyone will choose to pay in cash or by card.

What is logical for politicians is often not logical for ordinary people, but by 2024 a lot can change for the better, but also for the worse.
3639  Other / Meta / Re: About rule 32 - When will it be serious violation? on: October 16, 2022, 10:19:16 AM
_BlackStar, I looked at the post history of that member and he is a classic shitposter, so I suggest you waste less time on reporting multiple posts in a row, and focus more on signature spam reports.
That's true, but so far I've given up on gambling board regarding reports. Several times I have said, many of my reports are not handled on the gambling board even if I am absolutely sure about my accuracy. That's the reason why I don't report posts there even if many people admit that they are spam.

It seems that you are right, because yesterday I reported a few posts in that board and they are still unhandled, while all the others have been positively resolved. I don't have too much experience with reports in Gambling, but I don't want to believe that this board is left to spammers, because every spam, especially signature spam, should be treated equally.

I wonder what criteria some managers have when they pay for such posts at all...
3640  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for IPTV on: October 15, 2022, 03:28:48 PM
If you are looking for a large number of channels at a low price and if you are not too demanding about their quality, then IPTV is a service that will satisfy you. All IPTVs offered through the forum are in Goods -> Digital goods (Invites & Accounts) and as far as I've seen, they all accept BTC - and if you want to find more, I suggest you use the keywords IPTV - Bitcoin on any search engine.

Of course, a test for at least 24 hours is mandatory, and it is best to test at the weekend, when most people are watching TV, and thus the servers are under the greatest load. From personal experience, I had a service that worked almost perfectly every day except for weekends when it was practically unusable.
