3621  Economy / Speculation / I have become cautious on the market on: September 23, 2021, 01:45:30 AM
I have become more cautious on the market from speculating that it might pump similar to the pump of December of 2020. My reasons for this are China Evergrande and the speculated connection of Tether’s holding of Chinese companies commercial paper. Tether’s lawyer denies this, however, we cannot trust his word until we can verify this.

Also, bitcoin is moving higher after the dump, however, open interest is not increasing and funding rate is negative. This implies traders are short selling.

3622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: September 22, 2021, 08:50:27 AM
I have the feeling that sportsbooks will slightly favor Crawford here. But the gap of odds may not be wide. I am hoping that we will really see a toe-to-toe fight here, both fighters have the same age so there's no question about being older or younger here. It is how they prepare now for this fight and their fighting technique inside the ring. Southpaw vs Orthodox, who will win?

Terrence Crawford will not be slightly the favorite here. Shawn Porter might have given everyone a shocking performance versus Errol Spence, however, I reckon Terrence Crawford is presently the best welterweight boxer in the world. He only was not given the same opportunities to show his boxing skills. Crawford is also better than Spencer.
3623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: September 22, 2021, 07:41:46 AM
Zhu Rong took this fight easily and it showed dominating in all rounds.
Spann winning was a no contest.

Yeah, won one but lost my 2 biggest bets as the (slight) favourites took it home. Better for me, in the end, I guess, as my martingale means bigger bets and bigger wins (ha ha?).

@fiulpro  About UFC 266, haven't really had a chance to really sit down and think about who I am going with yet. There is still around 4-5 days to go through each and every fight to pick our favorites to win.

I'm going to watch the odds purely, and again pick the one with slightly better ones, looking at the three highlight matches. So for me, these are my picks in bold and their respective odds:
Alexander Volkanovski vs Brian Ortega: 2.50
Valentina Shevchenko vs Lauren Murphy: 11.00 -- Shevchenko's accused of staying in her division cause she just doesn't want to lose, this is the first UFC fight I've ever seen with 11/1 odds, but you know me...
Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler:  1.98

Valentina Shevchenko was not accused of staying in her division. She was a bantamweight before where the only fighter who can beat her is Amanda Nunes. I speculate if Amanda Nunes will retire Valentina will win the female bantamweight division.

Also add Roxanne Modafferi in your bets on underdogs hehehe. I speculate that she might be underestimated again by bettors and sportsbooks hehehe.
3624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 22, 2021, 06:43:50 AM

Boooo this man!! Boooooo  Cheesy

I hope those of you who were considering bench superstars like AJ Brown and especially Aaron Jones did not.  AJ Brown didn't have the best game ( much better games ahead for him) but Corey Davis had an even worse game.  This is why you never sit your superstars no matter what, or who they are facing.  Hope everyone had a good week of fantasy.  I finally had a bit of a bounce back week myself.

Hehehe I listened to your advice master. However, I had no choice because A.J. Brown is my only performing wide receiver. Anthonio Brown was always ignored by Brady on week 2. I reckon I am only lucky with McLaurin. He might be 0 points on week 3.
3625  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-09-15] SEC Chief Reiterates Call for Cryptocurrency Regulation on: September 22, 2021, 05:36:43 AM
@DooMAD. That should be very concerning for all of the users of the cryptospace because we do not know what laws those people might create. We have seen some proposals to KYC wallets and for users to personally collect information about the sender and sender’s source of funds. There is also a proposal that trading in  exchanges should not be allowed if you do not have the proper licenses. They want everyone to trade through someone similar to a professional stockbroker which puts an intermediary between you and the market.

They say "necessity is the mother of invention".  Part of me hopes there will come a day where centralised exchanges are no longer a viable option and that everyone trades peer-to-peer via decent, stable software which they run themselves.  Exchanges in their current guise are a relic of the past.  The wrong way to do things.  They need to die in order for something better to take their place.  So yeah, it's a good thing if at some point regulators do act on that.  In a way, they'd be doing us a favour, because they would be clamping down on middlemen and encouraging people to find more resilient and independent methods to trade.  That's the direction we should ideally want to be moving in.

And I can't say I'm too worried about the ludicrous talk of KYC within in the software itself.  If the copyright regulators with all their vast wealth and influence still haven't managed to add that kind of tracking nonsense to BitTorrent et al, then the SEC definitely won't find a way to do it with BTC wallets either.  I suspect this is the reason why they haven't gone ahead and implemented anything yet.  They don't know where to begin because many of their ideas are completely unfeasible.  So all they do is talk about their wishlist as though their dreams will magically come true.

However, was it not the cryptospace this necessity? Why is there much people in the community who support regulation? Is this because this is what they speculate that might cause the next pump? This is clearly very foolish.

The KYC will not be in the software itself. The user will be required to report all questions about all the transactions connected to his wallet. I reckon  American users might begin to see the real definition of hodl hehehehe.
3626  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdraw and stop using Binance on: September 21, 2021, 04:15:05 AM
Shutting down the domain would stop Binance? Imagine what will happen if Binance is suspended. The cryptocurrency market will fall within seconds. The suspending domain wouldn't prevent using apps and still, the site will be accessible from the IP address of the host. And all the data is stored in the host, not in the domain. However, this isn't the time of arguments. For a few days hearing against Binance. Even a small exchange owner told me a few months back that Binance going to encounter a big problem soon and there is the possibility to suspend Binance services. Hope nothing will happen. I never support holding a noticeable amount in any centralized exchange, just not only Binance. If Binance itself do not scam users, then suspending the domain wouldn't lead us to lose funds.

However, would you continue to use the exchange and continue to deposit to the site while the government is taking the exchange down and while much of the users are withdrawing their funds? We should be more cautious.

@Darker45. Anyone can call this fud but it might also be a warning that we should be more cautious.

@BitMaxz. The dump on bitcoin is not because of fud. China might be in danger of a financial crisis that might spread across the world. Read about Evergrande property developer.
3627  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase raises $2 billion in junk bond sale on: September 21, 2021, 03:20:00 AM
according to a person with knowledge of the matter. doesn't instill much faith in the source of the speculation at the heart of the report.

It's like school playground gossip.

However, how can $2 billion in junk bond sales be playground gossip? It was Moody’s that classified those bonds as junk bonds because of the cryptospace’s uncertain regulatory environment. I am also quite certain the documents of the sale has been processed and reported to the SEC.

3629  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Effects Did the Tether Reserves Breakdown Have on Bitcoin and The Market? on: September 21, 2021, 01:51:21 AM
There have been hundreds of millions of USDT being sent to exchanges according to @Whalealert Twitter account, however, I speculate that it might not be to pump bitcoin. Check the peg USDT/USD. It appears that there is much selling of USDT to USD.
3630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 20, 2021, 08:06:04 AM
My team was not very good but also not very bad hehe. I might replace some of my players again for this week. I shall remove Trey Sermon, Brandon Aiyuk and Matthew Stafford. I do not need an extra quarterback. I need runningbacks, wide receivers and another defensive line. Anyone want a trade for Stafford?
3631  Economy / Exchanges / Withdraw and stop using Binance on: September 20, 2021, 07:08:58 AM
There are some people on twitter who has followed this story more closely who speculate that the reason why CFTC and the Justice department have not taken action is because they are looking for the locations of Binance’s servers around the world. There might be actions taken and the domains might be seized if they are found. Stop and withdraw, be cautious of Binance.

The commission had previously launched an investigation into the sales of derivatives tied to cryptocurrencies. It's reportedly looking for internal Binance data that might show sales of those derivatives to American customers, breaking regulations that forbid those sales without registrations. The Internal Revenue Service and Justice Department are also probing possible money laundering on the exchange.

There are no guarantees of action. The CFTC and Justice Department have supposedly been investigating Binance for months, and any decisions might take a while longer.

3632  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Effects Did the Tether Reserves Breakdown Have on Bitcoin and The Market? on: September 20, 2021, 06:11:52 AM
@adaseb. I reckon that we cannot be quite certain of anything. We cannot be certain that it will be similar to the Lehman Brothers, however, we also cannot be certain that it will not be similar to the Lehman Brothers. Many of the experts also did not expect the Lehman Brothers hehehehe.

This is another thread with much knowledge about the situation in China and Evergrande. The limit on leverage in China was not only on the cryptospace. It was on many sectors of their economy.

Evergrande: why most analysis is dead in water and how best to understand and navigate what’s happening? Both denialists and alarmists are getting it wrong. Let’s start by understanding this: what is happening is the result of a CCP-initiated policy change to curb leverage. 1/N

3633  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Effects Did the Tether Reserves Breakdown Have on Bitcoin and The Market? on: September 20, 2021, 05:19:04 AM
The markets are presently dumping because of the fear that a contagion from Evergrande’s bankruptcy might cause the next financial crisis. If anyone does not read the news, google Evergrande, China news.

In any case, this thread on Twitter has a theory that Tether is holding commercial papers issued by Chinese real estate development companies similar to Evergrande. This might not be very bullish for the cryptospace.

3634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ]: Fury vs Wilder III - THE TRILOGY IS BACK ON !!! on: September 19, 2021, 06:19:54 AM
78 votes in the poll so far

Fury: 61
Wilder: 16
Draw: 1

Fury is obviously clear favourite to win the fight according to the votes cast in the poll, that is over 78% in his favour while over 20% in favour of Wilder.

I think Fury will win but if Wilder is getting battered and has his back to wall he will try to unleash that ferocious right hand of his therefore this fight will always have the element of potential surprise. Keeping everything in mind I am confident Fury will win by a clear KO or a TKO. In my opinion this fight will not go to a points decision and will not go beyond 6 rounds.

I change my vote to Deontay Wilder. I speculate that everyone from the sports media, the sportsbooks to the bettors are underestimating Wilder. I predict Wilder knockout before the 7th round. The promoters might want to begin preparing for a quadrology hehehehe.
3635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: September 19, 2021, 05:33:23 AM
@nutildah. You reckon the Vikings will not react and try to win in their home stadium, in front of their own fans after a loss on the road? Also, Vikings defense might be better than Cardinals’ last team played against in Tennessee and Kirk Cousins might be the better quarterback than Kyler Murray?
3636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ]: Fury vs Wilder III - THE TRILOGY IS BACK ON !!! on: September 18, 2021, 09:19:40 AM
Anyone else excited for this fight? I know lots of people say and act like they don't care about the trilogy match but I'm sure 90% of them will be staying up to eagerly watch it  Cheesy. I'm looking forward to this more than the AJ/Usek fight. I think Fury has well and truly got inside Wilder's head - either that or he's just extremely butthurt from losing the last fight. On the flip side, I wonder if Fury has been taking this as seriously as he should be. I'm still not entirely convinced he didn't just use covid as an excuse to delay the fight because he wasn't prepared. Either way I'm still backing Fury here but Fury himself has said that Wilder's the hardest puncher he's faced and he nearly got KOd in the first fight so anything can happen. Maybe Wilder might go in all guns blazing figuring he's got nothing to lose. Could get reckless or could just clobber Fury. At least Fury seems to want to keep active after this fight and said he wants to box Dillian Whyte by the end of the year, the two AJ fights next year and then maybe Derek Chisora again. There's not much left for him after that. I'm still hoping he fights someone like Francis Ngannou at some point as I think he's one of the biggest hitters on the planet right now. Fury has expressed interest in that fight at least so it could happen.

Fury has been doing a couple of interviews that are worth watching. 40 minute long one with Sky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMUH9N3S9PY

I was one of those who did not care for this trilogy. However, I am beginning to feel excited hehehe. I am also beginning to speculate that Deontay Wilder might be ready for Tyson Fury and knockout Fury before the 5th round. Odds for Fury only 1.29, for Wilder 3.25? It appears everyone has forgotten about the eraser hehehe.
3637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 18, 2021, 08:30:34 AM
@TheNineClub. Agreed. His trash talking vs. Anderson Silva and Brazil was original and new in the UFC. I reckon no one did this before him. Another one of the best trash talkers is Colby Covington. He did this to save is career in the UFC hehehe. He was told that he was fired from the UFC after his fight vs. Demian Maia in Brazil because he was a boring fighter. After the fight he delivered a speech and told the Brazilian fans their country was a dump and the people were filthy animals. He was offered a new contract hehehehehee.

@buwaytress. It might not make a difference unless he is very dehydrated, however, we cannot know this unless you can call the fighter’s coach or manager hehehe. Also, he might have the advantage because his opponent is only a replacement. His original opponent is Dakota Bush according to the other UFC prediction thread.

Terry McLaurin

Regretting that advice yet?  Wink

Loading...

I clearly followed it and it was certainly a very good advice hehehe. Thank you @Hueristic.

However, in my team I cannot stop looking at Corey Davis. I want to replace AJ Brown with him because the Titans like to run the ball more with Derrick Henry than passing the ball to the wide receivers. Should I do it?
3640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana was down for several hours on: September 17, 2021, 06:36:59 AM
Incredible how SOL can still have a high price when the network can down like this. So basically they were trolled with DOS attack Grin
I think this event serves as a wake up call, just like EOS in the past, to prove that SOL network isn't robust and valuable. I'm pretty surprised with the rebound shortly after the dip, is the market so irrational? Or is this just a dead cat bounce? Do SOL bag holders here are still optimistic?

It is only similar to Ethereum after the DAO failure or Ava’s own downtime because of its own blockchain failure hehehe. We are also in a bull market. If this was a bear market, it would be dumped -50%. Also, I speculate Sam Bankman-Fried supported much of the market during the downtime to save the Defi liquidity pools from being liquidated.

@RussianEnglishTranslation. It is not tested because no one uses Near. Solana was doing a peak of 400,000 transactions per second before the failure.
